Yep, Sunday, Father's Day. That will be the summer solstice. The first day of summer, there's not the first full day, but it's the first day of summer. Mars is rising about 3.30 a.m. this week. We can look from Mars to the east in the morning about 30 minutes before sunrise. Mars moves from the constellation of Aries into Taurus, shining at magnitude 1.3. Then we have Jupiter. Jupiter is setting about 10.30 p.m. this week. By the time the sun sets, Jupiter is in the south-western sky, rapidly approaching the horizon. Jupiter moves from the constellation of Gemini into Tansor, shining at magnitude minus 1.8. Jupiter is a solid 2 magnitude dimmer than Venus.
