If you live right on the river, that can affect you more than if you're away from the river. I think it's due to all the moisture in the ground close to the river. And yeah, I've had some alarm systems get fried. Just two in my whole career of installing alarms. I did not ground the alarm systems, the strap. You just ground it onto a cold water pipe in the basement or the crawl space. I never used to do that and they don't do it in Anchorage. So when we got struck by lightning here with a couple of my customers, I'd have to replace the whole alarm. Oh, then there was another one that got hit by lightning. And it wasn't a system installed by me. It was another company from the lower 48.
