So the best thing to do, and I've done this in quite a few trailers, is take off all the original lighting and replace it with the new LED lights, which are sealed and waterproof. I mean, you could actually, if you have a boat trailer, one of the best things you do is replace it with LED lights that are waterproof because then when you back into the river, forget that that's connected lights that have a blow amount.
