What's going on about the universe suggests that they may exist. There seem to be three reasons or so that they might be marked by visiting us. The first one, and this is the one that gets the most often, is that space. It's huge. In fact, it's huge to be on imagination. Take for instance our nearest star system, the approximately 4.3 years away. The fastest rocket technology that's available today is a fraction of the speed of light which would take about 6,650 years to get there. And for practical long-term distance, space travel, in terms of human lifespan, much higher velocities are required. The Italians, and I'm sure some do, do have propulsion systems that allow for significant velocities to compare to light. And that would enable them to across huge regions.
