What's known about the universe suggests that the aliens exist. There seem to be three reasons or so that they might be marked by the visiting app. The first one, and this is the one that gets cited most often, is that space is huge. In fact, it's huge beyond imagination. Take for instance our nearest star system, the approximately 4.3 log years away. The fastest rocket technology that's held today is a fraction of the speed of light which would take about 6,650 years to get there. And for practical long-term distance, space travel, in terms of human lifespan, much higher velocities are required to stop it. The aliens, and I'm sure some do, do have propulsion systems that allow for significant velocities compared to light. And that would enable them to prosecute the region.
