So in what was a bit of a perfect storm or perfect storm to come? On May 12th 2019 there was anonymous user on 4chan and on their paranormal focused board they posted a thread asking users to post disquieting images that feel just off. And included in the original prompt was an uncredited mundane photograph of a crooked empty office space. The image that was posted was defined by its terrible, aggressive banality. It was basically this empty, mono yellow wallpaper room where some of the wallpaper was peeling. It had these very harsh overhead fluorescent lights and a very heavily stained carpet. And everything in there was this mono yellow shade. And because the image had no identifiable human subjects, no landmarks, no focal point, it was actually a perfect canvas for what would become future psychological.
