So the eariness that we see with liminal spaces, that's not fully understood unless we look at some other psychological works and phenomena. And one of them is the uncanny valley. And this was originally theorized in the seminal 1970s essay by the pioneering Japanese roboticist Masahiro Mori. And the uncanny valley provides a theoretical model charting the hypothesized relationship between an odd-jipped degree of human likeness and a human observer's emotional affinity towards it.
