I mentioned one piece of columns here, the KWM, I think it was 3080 or the solid state ham, solid state ham transceiver or actually it could be used anywhere in the HF bands. But that solid state KWM 3080 I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, but quite a nice radio and way way beyond my means even after I finished college. So anyway, yeah, nothing wrong with that compute gear, nothing at all. As a matter of fact, whenever I believe, when I'm wrong, one of the stages in a piece of gear like that one out, it pretty much can find itself to that stage. Not so I think with solid state, of course I could.
