But what I would do is just simply plug a plug of the extension cord into one of the 110 outlets in the basement. And that would be enough to run the refrigerator here in the house. I wasn't going to use a transfer switch and do all that hoopla to run the air conditioners because that was an awful lot of work for very little return. Your electricity goes out and it's out for a few minutes, usually, or an hour or two at most. And since we've lived here, it's happened maybe a handful of times.
