The lock button is your friend. But there can be an advantage to it. One time I unknowingly bumped the knob and it changed to the ISS channel unbeknownst to me. And as I was sitting there driving along, suddenly the ISS went over and there was traffic and I made a contact for the ISS repeater. So it can't be to your advantage to be stupid once in a while.
