"text": "The Y1MGS returning. Michael in Whitehorse, Yukon Canada. Greetings Ryan, everyone on that. Spelt minus 40 degrees tardy outside. That's about minus 40 degrees foxtrot. It's cold. That is the forecast for the foreseeable future. Hoping, I'm hoping I don't have a lot of things to do outside and then in the near future. Had a good recovery day here, a good chill day. Had a party yesterday evening, nice Christmas birthday party, and a club Christmas party in the morning, and before that a company party. It's nice to get a bit of downtime. Feels a bit strange but made some food today made a nice chicken soup and some Moroccan beans to go with a bunch of Mexican leftovers we have made something else I can't remember what that was anyways that's about as much as I've gotten up to some rest some cooking and some radio good time with my wife and stay warm Thanks for taking my time. Warm thoughts to all. Brian, how are you doing? Back to you from taking your Yankee One Mike to all Sierra. I think 73 are all."

"text": "Good afternoon Jack and everyone on net, here's Victor Yankee 1 Mike Goh, Fiera Michael and White Horse Yukon where it's minus 8 degrees Charlie and that's right around, right around 50. It's not a bad day here, warmed up a little bit since overcast, we have a little blanket of clouds on top of us, some light wind, working away in the office, I've been working from my new office in the basement here. That office isn't built out all the way yet, but it has a functional multi-tier. I've got my Microsoft Surface out and network access there. So that's a lot of out-of-town work and a lot of service work. I have a lot of administrative work to catch up on. I'm having a pretty good administrative flow day, so I'm feeling good about that. My wife is working in the other office doing some other administrative work for us as well we're double teaming from different areas had a good weekend see you a little bit that was nice sound like repeater roundup was good that's all i got for the moment jack how are you doing back to you from the y1 mgs 73 everyone"

I'd like to see how that all looks and The casters at Harbor Freight. Yeah, those are very inexpensive. So that is fantastic All right. Well great to hear you. Thank you so much And you know, I can scream pretty high register too, but not not quite where you might I don't know I still am bothered by little creatures crawling around on the floor if I see something that I wasn't expecting It's very entertaining in a weird way. All right, Henry. You take care of great to hear you today We had an IO from Darren. Let's go talk to Michael. He apparently is mobile I think I think I have to agree that I think he is mobile to her a little bit of road noise But I also heard his great voice the y1 MGS. Hi Michael"

From what I'm reading here on this, it's going through an Echo Link slash All Star Hub 49447. You aren't that, I can't really tell you how this is operating. As I said, this is brand new to me. You may wish to go over to Echo Link. Echo Link is a web-based system here that you can set up and there is a location for it. It's Do Drop In. D-O-D-R-O-P-I-N. There is a primary as well as a backup site for this. You may wish to check that to see how this works. As I said, I just picked this up, called CQ, and you're the first connection you picked up on. Do you copy?"

"text": " Thank you for bringing me in. I'm coming via Echo Link, so I hope there's no problem with the audio there. Yeah, I've been busy. I got my Canadian citizenship on the 10th, so I've been celebrating a lot of firsts as a Canadian. I've been identifying as a Canadian the whole time, by the way, for 25 years. What does the future hold for Ham Radio? Well, I came in in Ham Radio only in January 2023, and the stuff that I was introduced to, it was all new to me, FT8, FT4, Fusion, DMR, HF. Actually, I went to HF last because it was too expensive to get started out with that for a new video. You can always get hand-me-downs and stuff like that. But what do I think the future's going to hold? I hope it holds a lot of making things simpler. I don't know how to say that other than not simpler, more affordable. That's what I want to say, more affordable. I can't wait till most people, like the folks that mentor me, that's been getting their 60-year in Ham Radio, 50-year in Ham Radio, they've made stuff out of kids, things like that. I come along, and that's a novelty. You can go to Amazon, they'll sell a kit for something. It's like, oh, look at that, right? I'm hoping that the technology keeps growing, keeps getting better, so that anyone can just go pick up a kit or something and throw a radio together that'll fit inside the palm of your hand, and you'll be able to work everything on it. It's all just totally electronic, right? And then as something goes out, you just pull a piece out, like the old video cards, you snap another piece in, you keep on going your way, right? We used to call that in the business, fill replaceable units. So not do anything you have to get a starter on, they're just little parts and pieces, you just pick one up and stick another one in. So that's what I hope. I hope people pick up the digital stuff, because when the bands are bad, it's not a bad time for me, I just switch over to digital. Anyway, I've talked enough, back over to you guys, Victor Alpha 3, Echo"

"text": " Hey hi guys here's the Y1 MGS we're trying. Lagle and White Horse are calling Canada. It's about 46 degrees foxtrot. That's folly indeed. 99 degrees, 99 degrees. The water is falling out of the sky. It's coming right out of the sky. It's falling right down to the ground. I can't believe it. Which is typical. In the fall it gets to be a bit wet. Just sticking my head out the back shop here. Very light rain. Gosh we're lucky. Nice clean air. And trees. Orange, yellow, yep many colors along those lines. Some interesting purples. Those are always very cool. And uh... Perhaps why the season is named fall I see these on the ground. Many leaves still up in the trees. Even some green leaves still. Even some green leaves still. The fireweed looks like it's on fire. It's beautiful. We've been very lucky. It's been a nice end of the summer official. And uh... A nice start to the fall. Um... Selfishly I would be happy for a moderate fall. Maybe that's... Anyway, we'll just leave it at that. Jack how are you doing? I'm working in the office right now. My name is Don Cregan. I wish I was in the field teching and playing with people and things. But I'm in the office. But that means I get to chat with you. There's pros and cons to everything and I like the pros. Like I said, Jack how are you doing? Back to you from VY1MGS. Thanks for pulling me in."

"text": " The Y1 MGS returning. Hey, thank you Jack. Yes. So that's a nice profile, hey? They have a nice package for the Quandic Road Relay and the elevation profile you're referencing is nice. And there we have 175 kilometers. 109.4 miles is the overall race end to end. And Starlink, you were asking about Starlink. Yes, my understanding is, and I'll find out more today, is that Starlink will be being deployed in locations where there is not cellular data. And where there is cellular data they will be using cellular data. More to be found out. Oh, just a couple, let's say local pronunciation items. That's too shy. We call it too shy. I mean I was at the same place before. Someone had to tell me how we pronounce it up here. And yesterday we were talking about hydropower. And the facility west of us is pronounced Asi-yuk. I've been to all the facilities, all the hydro facilities. I look forward to returning. That's all I've got for now. Thanks for asking Jack. Back to you from VY1 MGS. Big radio wave to all friends."
