It does an audio analyzer that does a fast Fourier transform. And it also has parametric instruments and electric magnetic field sensors. And it has an electronic compass built into it, three-dimensional compass, and some other doodads. But it's actually a toy. But it does this real stuff. And it's my splurge for this year. I was waiting for it for five years. And when I got the email that said there was an invitation to purchase, I had two choices, to not or to do. Sorry. Thank you, Joe. CW. I'm looking at it right now. It's kind of cool. Back to that. Well, thank you, Joe, for that quick response. Let's move on to Michael, WA6ABC. Come ahead, Michael. This is WA6ABC, Michael, in Rockaway Beach, currently in New York, New York City. And it is 1252 AM, so I am not firing on all cylinders. I just ran across this net. You asked for check-ins. I decided to check in. I run an animal rescue, so the animals are all fed. Spent a little time installing Echo Link on my Windows computer. And not very impressed with the sound quality. I have professional audio equipment. And oh my god, you put that through Echo Link, and it just makes it sound terrible. So I'm on my iPhone right now. But I did get it working. I got everything talking to each other. And Echo Link is officially working on my PC. I just don't know if I'm going to use it or not. In any case, here's a net. Nice to hear, everybody. Thank you for that interesting tri-quarter discussion. And maybe when I have a few extra dollars, I'll buy it. That sounds like a lot of fun. Anyway, back to net from WA6ABC, Michael in Rockaway Beach, New York. Thank you, Michael. Interesting. Yeah, Echo Link. I use Echo Link on Windows. And I guess I don't have very good ears. I don't really notice the differences too much. But people do tell me that All-Star sounds a lot better. And as I say, I'm building a node, and I'm going to get that up and going. Let's see where we are now. Let's call that a round. Let's move on to what's called arbitrarily round four. This is a 9 p.m. PSRD social net. My name is Bill, K7WSD. We're looking for people who want to chat with us. So if you have a chat in your mouth ready to go, come ahead with your call sign in your name. Whiskey zero, X-ray Oscar, Jonathan. Jonathan, you're number one in this new round. Who's next? W7, JSM, John. John, we have you next on the list. I didn't get your B-fact. Can you come in one more time? Whiskey Alpha 6 Alpha Bravo Charlie WA6 ABC. Got it. Um, checking in or did you have a comment? Just checking in. Wanted to test my audio. I haven't had a Windows machine running Echo Link in years. So I just decided to put something together today. But um, very interesting, very interesting analysis of sea creatures, etc. that I caught at the end. And appreciate the, appreciate the net. Thanks. Back to you from WA6 ABC. You're welcome WA6 ABC. Thanks for coming in there. And I got ties, ties are over here for this evening. And um, time to wrap things up. And um, this Science and Tech Net meets each Saturday here of my home location here in Toronto, Canada. 9 PM 0 100 dollars GMC."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-02T21:55:19+00:00","id":13778,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13777,"text":" The cell is slowing down a bit, let's do onesies for a minute here. AE7WE, Robert, come ahead, give us your report. Yes, good evening everyone, this is Robert, AE7WE, and I had a fun day just because I got to play on the radio all day. I was able to have some friends watch our kids as I went on a hike, I went up to Wilderness Peak and did an activation there for submits on the air. That was a lot of fun to make good contacts all the way up to Olympia and North as far as Kamino Island, so that was a lot of fun. At home, I have a new antenna that I've been playing around with, it's a Comet GB6, and I had it basically at ground level for the last few days, but today I got a couple poles and got it up 20 feet in the air so I could listen on the Simplex net, and that was a lot of fun, I heard so many people. Joel was just on here, I heard him very well, I could hear the host all the way down to Burien, and one station at Granite Falls, so it was amazing, I'm happy I got this antenna. So that's just what I want to talk about, I'm going to send it back to net, AE7WE. AE7WE, Robert, thank you, well I'm going to make a note of that antenna Comet, I think it's a GP6, sounds like it got great performance. Just two questions for you, I don't know where Wilderness Peak is, can you just give us an idea, and how high were you and what band were you on? I will try to answer the best I can, Wilderness Peak is on Cougar Mountain, kind of, I think it's off of exit 13 on I-90, and I think it's about 1300 feet, I'm not entirely sure, so it's a good elevation, but it's not a super high elevation, and I was doing 2 meter FM. Very good, sounds like a perfect day for it, not too hot, not too cold, just right. Very good, thank you so much. Who else wants to join us tonight, this is a 9pm PSRG social net, my name is Bill, K7WFP, come ahead with your call sign and name. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November, All Star Node 6... WA6 ABC, Whiskey Alpha 6, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Michael in Rockaway Beach. Michael, we have you on the list, let's see who else wants to join us, call sign and name please. W7LCO, I just had a question. W7LCX, what's your question? My question was for Joan about that thing that records the, some kind of wave analyzer that does other things, I was just wondering if you could ask her to say with a model number or whatever I would Google to find out more about that, because that seems super interesting. Thank you, W7LCX. W7LCX, well let's bounce right back to Joan, see if we can get a very quick answer from her and then continue with the net. Joan, can you help us out there? Blatantly, let me turn down the talk back. Well believe it or not, it is a Star Trek the Original Series hero prop tricorder manufactured by the Wanda Company. They have a reputation for making the finest, most accurate hero props. They started like, you know, 16 years ago making a Harry Potter wand that was actually an infrared controller."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T08:55:51+00:00","id":14037,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14036,"text":" Thank you. And this helps me keep my sanity getting on Echo Link again and talking to ham radio operators, things that are stress-free. Back to you. I'm almost sorry to hear you're going through a rough time. Yeah, radio definitely helps. Like you say, I understand there's some topics that we get into from time to time that you're not particularly fond of. But, like you say, it's just stuff that's in the news, man. You really can't help but get into discussing a lot of it. You know, it's what you're looking at every time you turn on a TV or every time you turn on a radio, it's right in front of your face. And like you say, we're all friends out here, so it's hard not to discuss stuff that's going on when it comes to talking to your friends and stuff like that. I really don't have an opinion one way or another about everything that's going on, but it's definitely a calming hobby, you know. I really enjoy it. There's not been too much time over the years that I've been quiet on the air, you know, without being active or something like that in one mode or another."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-05T07:31:48+00:00","id":14282,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14281,"text":" I hope everything goes well for Heather and she gets relief. So good morning to all four of you. And we're going to start with Mr. Terry, Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. How are you, Terry? What are you up to this weekend? You got any plans? And the question we're kicking about is, if you could have the power to read people's minds, would you want it? So with that, over to you, Terry. Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo, I can tell you that for sure you don't want it unless you run out of sleep with Mike. My ex-wife has that ability. And if she says, I've seen the color of your car, then you better drive easy to it, because then you better drive on while do it, because she doesn't see things that happen to herself. I have the ability for the simple reason that we were in Randy Creek Campground, Whiskeytown, when Grandpa Gilbert passed away. The thing he used to do with me when I was a child, he was running his hand up the back of my neck. And I'm sitting there cooking lunch. And he reaches out. When he passes away, he reaches out and goes after the back of my neck. And I turned to Jean. I said, we need to call Utah now. And I'm not that big. I'm also considered a corny, because I did carnival work and swap work. I can actually, if I get you to look at me, I'm not going to turn wish of you until you buy something off my table. I got a message. Let me grab a second. Be right back. I'll be like this. I'll be like this. I'll be like this. And somebody was walking with their mother. And the lady was talking to her daughter and looking at me. And I commented on her watch or her glasses or something. And she brought it over to her. When she got to the table, I had some Elizabeth Cullen cabbage patch caveman dolls. Fully anatomic, they correct. And the mother said, oh, look at this, honey. And two or seven years old daughter, she lifted up the thing on it. And then we saw her there. She bought something just to get herself out of there. I'm able to do that. But I can turn mine on and off when my ex-wife cannot do that. So you really don't want to, if you don't mind, if you want sleepless nights, then it's for you. But poor Bill spent more time sitting and reading than she did sleeping. I'll just open the microwave. Thank you for bringing me in because you can't take me out by a little bit. Listening out. Back to McAdore, 8E7MR. 8E7MR, KM1X. Well, yeah. I would think if your wife had that ability, she could cash in on that. She could have gotten rich with that ability. But as you said, it produces sleepless nights, too. So there is good and bad to it. All right. Who's next? WA6ABC. How are you today? And what are your weekend plans? Do you have any? And the question is, if you could have the power to read people's minds, would you want it? And now we're over to upstate, upstate, upstate New York. So upstate, he's almost in Canada if he wanted to get his feet wet. That's WDA2A. Pat, how you doing this morning, Pat? Well, good morning, Bill and everybody on the net. I just made some changes to the computer here in the house. So I'm making sure my EchoLink thing is working good. But not a whole lot going on. Just going to kind of chill out today. Have to run out to Iowa again on Monday. So they've been pretty much running every week. And it's a production issue between the two plants. So that's why they keep me running. And I've only got three, four days at home, or four days at home to try and work on the low-net toil again. But that's kind of got on the back burner. I've been working on a project for Deborah. And I've got like one more day on that project that I can focus on getting the beam up in the air, working on the antennas on the shack there. And I can't remember his name, but the last guy to check in working on his station, good deal. It's always fun. So I'm just going to get one of them done. I've got things to do today, Bill. But I just wanted to check in and let your people here know what I sound like so you can let me know how this thing's working. I do have kind of a little frog in my throat. So take that in consideration. So have a great day. W-2-A. Yeah, you sound great. You asked for the sound of your frog in your throat. I was going to say something about that, that you sounded a little bit under weather, but a little over talked. And other than that, the transmission was clear. There was no static, not a lot of background noise. So everything's good there. Hope you have a safe and pleasant trip out to Iowa. I think he said Iowa. And we'll catch you around, for sure. And with that, and for anybody's, well, to make it legal, this is N9 OFU Bill out of Phoenix or Tolson, Arizona. But now we're going to go over to W-A-6 ABC, slowly becoming a regular again on the Kowabunga net, which is highly, greatly appreciated. You still doing photography, Mike? I do see a picture that you post every now and then up on Facebook. But I don't see as many as I used to. So I hope you're still into that. We got Pat at KB0MAI, who has been filling in as our provider of pictures. But how are the cats doing? That's what everybody wants to know. How are all those cats doing? Over to you, Mike."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T06:45:13+00:00","id":15753,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15752,"text":" Alright, I'm not hearing D, but I was reminded that I forgot Daryl, so I apologize. We'll cap Daryl and then we'll go back to D. So, uh, you know when you're kidding me. Go ahead. So you said the question was if you could go anywhere with ham radio or something? Go over your question again, Bill? I was just putting on some breakfast. Well, don't put it on. Cook it and eat it. Putting it on, that's kind of weird. Um, yeah, no, the question was if you could travel anywhere in time with a ham radio, where would you travel? And, uh, so you could listen to what's going on with you back in the past and listen to ham radio traffic in the past. Or would you go to the future and listen to what ham radio has to offer in the future? Go ahead. Well, I think I can stick around for a few years yet and find out what's going on in the future. But, uh, man, I'd like to go back to ham radio in the, probably the 70s, I'd say. Because everyone was so active back then. And, uh, you know, CB radio even was incredibly active back in the 70s. I wouldn't mind going back and having a listen to what was on the airwaves back then. And that's what I would like to do. But, uh, man, we got a nice day. I'm shafing up here. It's not really warm yet. It's 23 degrees. It's, you know, warm enough. But, um, it doesn't feel hot like outside like it did yesterday. But, um, what was I going to say? Oh, Josh mentioned the, uh, the deep search research. I was doing that on Gemini last night as well. But I had it researched myself. And it was a very long report, but it didn't give me much information. It told me how I wasn't listed in like a whole bunch of places that I had searched. And I thought maybe, you know, it should leave that stuff out. The things that I, were things where I wasn't mentioned. All I really found was my social media profiles, a little bit of my family tree, listed a bunch of my relatives, found some obituaries with people with my last name. Uh, but that was it. Never really found, uh, you know, anything about drop-in or ham radio or any of that stuff. You would have thought it would. Um, you know, pretty much searching the whole internet for, you know, your name or whatever. Um, so I thought it was pretty cool. But I didn't realize you could ask it to show you pictures of like your town back in the day. I wonder how many photos, archive photos there are of, uh, old St. John's. Um, because I'd like to check that out myself now that you got me thinking about it. I mean, I've seen some pictures, you know, back in the day, but not a whole big lot of them. And I'd love to see some, you know, uh, early 1920s Newfoundland or something or early 1900s Newfoundland. Because I bet things were quite different, uh, back then. I mean, back in the 1800s, back in 1891, um, St. John's almost burned to the ground. Um, it was a lot smaller over town. Let me reset. This is repeater station Kilo, Kilo, St. John's was a lot smaller over town, uh, back in 1891. And the majority of it, uh, burned to the ground, uh, for a big fire. It was, uh, CLV Armory fire, the downtown fire, the great fire. That's what they called it. I don't know what was so great about it, you know, if everything burned to the ground. But I know they mean great as in a reference of size. But, man, all the buildings were of course made of wood, you know, back then. And all connected together, like, you know, like big strings of buildings and houses and stuff. So you can imagine where those caught fire, the whole thing was going up like a tinder box. And that's exactly what happened. It, uh, was a little out of hand, I guess. And then 100 years later, exactly 100 years later, the downtown area caught fire again in, uh, 1991. And, uh, a bunch of buildings burned, um, in the downtown area that year too. But they weren't all connected together anymore and a lot of them were made of concrete. So the damage was mixed. But I know from all reports from the great fire of 1891, um, it was rough. You know, a lot of people were left homeless, a lot of businesses were burned down. And, uh, it was just a catastrophe. And, you know, firefighting equipment and stuff back then was a lot less than what they had in the fire of 1991. Uh, that was the CLB Armory fire at Churchlands Brigade. Um, they had a propane leak, I think is what they, let me reset again. I think it was what caused that one. Um, and once the propane tanks blew up, it was, uh, there was no stopping the fire. And I can't remember how many businesses got burned. It was like maybe 10 or 11 businesses up and down, uh, two sides of the street. So, yeah, it was a pretty bad fire. I'm going to do a deep search now on, uh, the history of St. John's back around the turn of the last century and see what it comes up with. Thanks for the idea on that one, Josh. And I'm going to tell it to include all archived photos, or any relevant archived photos that it can find. So, um, back over here, Bill. And I'll be here via one of you, Casey. All right, very good. Yep, didn't think about doing that, but it's given me some ideas for myself. So I'm going to have to check that out. So, thank you. Thanks, Josh. And, uh, with that, we will try for Dee again, see if she's still here. Uh, KN4LBF from N9OFU, if you're still here, it's your turn. This is KN4LBF. This is Dee. Yeah, I want to be here for the rest of the week. Um, I'm out for the week. I have to stay home. And, um, that's an interesting question, but I don't, um, I would want to go into the future, but not in, in, so I would say this, don't beat me up now. I would rather go into the future of South Korean technology because they have a cutting edge infrastructure when it comes to that. Yeah, for now, right now they do. Um, right now, and, and, and as an experience, you know, all my walkie talkies and whatever equipment I have, like my Baofeng and my Ye Su, they're not from here. That's for sure. And, um, any other equipment that I look at the tag, it's, it's that it's, you know, it is what it is, but yeah, I would, I would like to go to the future. And, and when it comes to like, um, like, um, Japan has, is well in advance when it comes to robotics. So yeah, I mean, you know, if things get rough or technology gets all messed up, we'll go back to Morse code, I guess. But I don't know, but that's my thing. I like the future. And this is K and four LBS. This is Steve back to the net. All right. So do you would like to go to the future of ham radio and see what's going to be available in the future? You know, if you go in the future and find out what's available, come back, you can make a killing. If you've got the know how to make that, make that in the money. Because, uh, you know, if I went into the future, I probably try to memorize a couple of the, uh, the lotto numbers and, uh, uh, changed my destiny. But, uh, at least she knew who was next. So when I called her, she, she stayed quiet. So I could go back and get her other. So, uh, thank you, D. And we'll catch on the 73 route. So let's go to E3 FBX from N9 of you. Go ahead, Ben. This is E3 FBX. I think I'd want to bounce back to the past and the seventies, eighties. Uh, time I would have liked to have been involved more in radio, um, was a young teen in the middle of nowhere. Didn't have access to much. Um, when I got into the Air Force, we were playing with older equipment. Uh, just being the Canadian military, we run old equipment. Um, I think it would be very interesting to get into the building and, uh, and I think the better time for amateur radio. Um, back to you. Go ahead, big event. And, uh, there's one for the past and, uh, check out and see what's going on. Yeah, that'd be another thing. If I could go back to the past and, and talk to myself, uh, when I was a kid and say, hey, uh, you're missing out. Get, get in on this ham radio thing. Learn Morse code. Cause this is the time that would be easier, uh, rather than trying to learn it when you're older. Uh, I think I would, uh, go back and, uh, get myself interested and, uh, make it happen. And with that, we're going to go to, uh, W a six ABC. Mike, you're up. And I know if you W a six ABC returning using a headset this time, hopefully it's a clear, I think this one's a good headset and, uh, yeah, I'm going to vote one for the future. I was around during the seventies, uh, during the CB radio craze. In fact, we had a CB radio club here in a Rockaway and a couple of us on the more nerdy side studied for our ham radio exams. And, uh, I got myself on my, my dad bought me a Halicrafters, uh, transceiver with relays that would lock up. So I get locked in transmit mode, have to hit it on the side rather than just spraying the relays, which is what I would do now. But, uh, yeah, that was a fun time. I got two SL cards from all over the world. Talk to people in Russia and just the thought of talking to somebody in Russia from, uh, from my bedroom as a kid was, uh, was amazing. But, um, I did all that. So, um, going to the future would be fine, except I'd have to participate in the future of technology because chances are if I go into the future with a radio that's current, I'm going to be able to do that. Chances are they're going to be using technologies that, um, are not developed yet. So, uh, I'd have to get myself a, a new radio, whatever they're using for communication in the future. And I think it would be fascinating. Yeah, Bill, I understand that, uh, going into the future, if you remember some lottery numbers or even the technology, you can make a killing, but, uh, yeah, you, you, you do that, then you affect the timeline. So the future is not going to be the future anymore. If you've watched all those science fiction things about delving into the past, as soon as you come back, if you use any of that knowledge that you've gotten from the future to affect your present, you're going to change the timeline. So the future won't, won't stay the same. In any case, yeah, I'm going to vote for the future. And I think it would be fascinating. I think it's an age thing too, if you've been around this earth for a while, you don't want to necessarily go back. You want to, you want to head for the future because you're not going to be around for the future. And, uh, you've already been around for the past and it was fun. The seventies and the eighties were fun for CB radio and amateur radio. Send it back to net. I don't know if this is last round or not, Bill. Uh, and I know if you W a six ABC back to net. Nope, not the last round. We'll go one more quick, uh, 73 round, uh, here. Once we get down to the bottom of the list and we're close to the bottom of the list. So, uh, uh, but yeah, uh, I, I was around during the CB stuff. My dad got into, uh, uh, all American react and our neighbor was a big in ham radio and, uh, or at least a CB radio and, uh, American react and things like that. But, uh, definitely, um, good, good times. I just, uh, uh, I didn't get as involved as I could have, and I, uh, um, uh, would like to go back and change that, but all right. KJ5, IRQ. But hey, I walked into, during a closet remodel. See what happens when I wake up? I woke up, sit down in there, my life goes, hey, that's been verve. It's all verve. I wanna change closet into a gaming center. So my grandkids have a closet. That's their space in our house to keep their toys and coloring books. You know, whatever grandkids always have. My grandkids get a lot of stuff for them. Anyhow, he's been playing Minecraft a lot more lately. And that's great. He is, it helps eye-to-eye coordination. Both of our studies are showing that surgeons, and I'll try to find the source, but this is a true, true, true, true thing. Surgeons who play video games are 27% faster, I think, than the surgeons who don't use, who don't play video games. And 37% more make less mistakes. I may have the numbers messed up, but I'll have to find that. Those are the generalities, okay? So there is some arguments we had that let children start on developmental video games at a young age because, let's face it, life is a video game now. We're with A.I.s and phones, touchscreen phones, and they're coming out with glasses, and before long, I mean, I'm serious, before long, there's gonna be a holographic or something to rate it as if they're touching thin air, and it's a screen. I mean, technology is growing at such an astounding rate. Forget how fast they think technology's duplicating itself, but it's faster than we ever expected as a species. If you watch the raw files, W-H-Y, raw files on YouTube, he has some interesting thoughts about why technology's like that, like we're getting help from alien species, or possibly, you know, we had some time travel, I guess, hey, I'm plugging it, but the YouTube channel, if you haven't seen the raw files, W-H-Y, F-I-L-E-S, and you're looking at back in time, and being engaged and learning something, I would highly recommend it. It's such a great channel. He does talk about a lot of conspiracies, but he does it in an intelligent manner. He lays it out, hey, this is what the conspiracy is, these are the facts that can be proven, these are the things that, you know, Alpha Dog got out there, had his own, that kinda shows that his story's probably not true. It's really fascinating, it's educational. I feel like the tagline is, something where smart people go to relax, or something like that. Anyhow, I thought some of y'all may enjoy that, the raw files, W-H-Y-F-I-L-E-S, on YouTube, and yeah, Denver 73, back to being a remodeler for my wife, KJ5, I owe you, back to you. All right, well there, Josh. Yep, honey, news to do, keep us busy for sure. And we lost D, she said 73, so we'll go to the VE3FBX, Ben, 73 round, what are your final thoughts? This is VE3FBX, thanks for doing the net, Bill, thanks for everybody's input on my little question. I hope everybody has a great Sunday, 73. All right, thank you, Ben, and we're gonna go ahead and go down to W-A6-A-B-C, Mike, and we're not gonna be able to say Mike from Rockaway Beach anymore, we're gonna have to say Mike from wherever you're going next but Mike, for now, from Rockaway Beach, 73 round. N9-O-F-U at net control, W-A6-A-B-C returning. Very good, 73 to everybody, wishing everybody a blessed Sunday, and everybody stay safe today, everybody stay cool today, and yeah, I don't know, you know, I'm the one who really doesn't know where I'm gonna end up, so we're looking around, we're seeing where we can actually buy a house and stay in it for a little while. But yeah, definitely one of those tougher times for me, so having a net right now is really a good thing, and having a calm net, a calm net, everybody's calm, everybody's just talking about their day, just my preference, that's all. Not too much flaming disagreements and things, and get to hear everybody and them running their calm Sundays, so I'll go back to doing a little work today, and thanks everybody for participating in a net, there is no net if people don't participate. Bill, thanks for taking the helm, you did a fine job as net control, and sending love and blessings to everybody within the sound of my voice, from W-A6-A-B-C, Michael and Rockaway Beach. Well Mike, good luck with the prescriptions for the cats, trying to find the right thing for everybody, and I know you get different cats, you get different reactions, same with dogs, same with people, well not one medicine fits everybody, but hopefully you'll find something that will make everything easier, and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, and here's to wishing you good luck in finding a good house. I'm currently on an exercise bike, so that's part of the to-do list here for the weekend. And so I'm watching the news with one eye. I've got both ears on the dew drop in here of the cow bung and net. And yeah, just listening to what's going on, getting my exercise on. And you know, I think I probably wanted it first and then realized that that was a mistake because I have enough trouble dealing with my own thoughts and then figuring out what behaviors to do, what actions to do based on the thoughts that I have. If my mind was quoted up with what everybody else was thinking, oh my goodness. You know, it's enough to worry about what I'm doing and trying to manipulate other people and that was just not my game. My game is to try and express what I want clearly and let people come to their own decisions. So now I don't think I would take on that power. The rest of the day is gonna be, I'm thinking of making a move to Western New York. So I'm looking up properties in Ogdensburg, New York and potentially selling my place here in New York City. And moves are, I think on the scale of things, they're kind of known as one of the most dramatic things you can ever do is an entire move. So I also have 15 cats, so that's something to be considered in the move and dealing with moving 15 little bodies like that. So that's the plan for today, dealing with all the anxiety that comes with moving, et cetera. Nice to hear everybody on the cow bung and net came in late, but thanks for including me in at the end. I'm gonna go back to my exercise and send it back to net from WA6 ABC, Michael in Rockaway Beach, New York. I'm sorry to interrupt like this, but if you don't mind, I have a quick question for Mike. Not a problem, Bill, go ahead with your question. Good to hear you out here, Mike. And I know it's been a while, but I was just curious, you said you were thinking of moving. I know you were taking care of your mother. How was your mother doing? Or did she pass away? Just curious. Hi Bill, WA6 ABC returning. Thank you for that question. No mother's doing okay, actually. She's 94 years old, God bless her. And I just took her to a medical appointment yesterday and she's in a managed care facility and they have lots of events for her. And so she's happy, she's got everything she needs there. And selling the house is basically a way to continue paying for managed care, because managed care costs a pretty penny. And we've got to make sure her care continues to be paid for. So that's the summary of things right now. I appreciate your asking, but yeah, she's all right. Send it back to a night control or to Bill for another round if you had another question. And I'm losing my breath because I'm on my exercise bike from WA6 ABC. Yep, no, I hated bothering you on your exercise bike, but you know, I know you were taking care of your mother and I just want to make sure she was okay. My mom had a fall last Sunday. And so we're thinking about maybe a managed care for her. But I appreciate it to come back and I'm glad she's still doing well. And I know a few back to KMLNX. All right, yeah, managed care, that's something that I'm dealing with as well. Mom needs it, mom wants it, but I don't think dad's ready to do it. I think he feels guilty that if he puts her in a home and he's not in there, that it's like he's just dumping her off. He's the only one I think that feels that way. He's feeling like he can take care of her, but he can't. So it's a rough go, but we have a meeting with a geriatric doctor coming up in about a month. And I think it's all gonna come to a head at that meeting. So it's supposed to be like a two hour meeting. So there's gonna be a big evaluation and they basically want everybody that's gonna say in her care there. So I think that day is coming for us too, Mike and Bill. All right, Dwayne, N9ZIV, good morning to you, sir. How are you today? I haven't heard from you in a while. Hope you're doing okay. You got any big weekend plans? And if you had the ability, Dwayne, to read people's minds, would you want it? Over to you, Dwayne."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-09T07:07:21+00:00","id":15407,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15406,"text":" I'm glad to make it through all the way. You didn't hear Scooter barking this morning, because I get up at 4 o'clock every morning and go to work. So he's on my schedule. I am in charge of all medicine and all feeding. And that way, we don't get confused in the household. We don't need a checklist or anything. So yeah, with me getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning and feeding him around 4 10, 4 15, he's got his biological clock going. And he woke me up. And right now, he's sitting there. And I can't tell if he's sleeping. There's a new thing going on. And he's hard of hearing. And his eyesight's not good. And he's really old. So I don't know, because he's going to be 18. I don't know if he's actually sleeping or resting. But sometimes we think he sleeps with his eyes open now. So we're not sure. But he's laying there. His eye is open. And we're actually treating his eyes for dry eye. So anyway, 73, have a great night. I mean, great day. This is K9 TFD. And I'll be clear. K9 TFD KM1X. Have yourself a great weekend. And we will talk to you soon. Go ahead. Keep getting better. Keep getting stronger. And enjoy the bike. Who's next? D. D KN4LBF. Final comments from you this morning, D. This is KN4LBF. This is D. No, no. I'm just going to go head out and do a couple of things around the house. It's not too hot out here. It's like a little below 90 right now. It's going to hit a little over 90 later. So I'm about to get some stuff now. There's a space between my fence and another person's fence. And a lot of weed is growing in this small space. And I want to get a weed chopper back there and get it done and spray some stuff or keep it under control. So that's what I'm thinking about doing today. Maybe more, maybe tomorrow. I don't know. Anyway, 73s and clear. Back to the net. All right, KN4LBF KM1X, you have a great weekend. Now we'll go to Ben. VE3FDX. Final comments from you today, sir. KM1X versus VE3FDX. Just thanks for doing the net, kid. It's been a great day. The depression was amazing. And hopefully I'll be back and see everybody tomorrow. Sounds good. I think that the Sunday, Gray is right, the Sunday nets are so informal and relaxed that you can come, talk for a couple minutes, leave, or stay for the whole thing or whatever. It's very relaxed. And I kind of like that. N9, OSU, Bill. Your turn. Final comments. All right, thank you, sir. And just getting ready to start the day here. Sort of eating. But I did clean up all the poop in the backyard. And now I'm cleaning up myself. So I will say 73, catch everybody out here, tomorrow morning on the cloud above my net. And this is N9, OP, saying so long. All right. If there's water, I can't see. How many years? Turn us around. All right. OK, OK, OK. Let's see, who's next? Who is now Ms. Kateri? Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. Final comments, Terry. Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. Where a JKL, if he was his own match as a young lady, I was married to her, he wouldn't be here. I can guarantee you. She was cooking, and she put her hand in the knife for her. I had to risk that and tweak her on the feathers. I walked by her, and one of the brothers I walked by her, when I looked down, there was a shirt track in my belly. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Yeah, yeah. You wouldn't have messed around with that Cha Cha Jerky girl, I'll tell you that. That's what that girl was. She is and was a good kid. But when they don't trust you, they got to turn them loose. Anyway, not a lot else going on here. I think it looks like we might actually be on our house in the sunshine. Looks like it's going to be 87 degrees by 5 o'clock today. And the rains are still in the Oregon area. Hopefully we don't have any there. Oh, that's another thing. The fallout in Oak Ridge is almost contained. I think it was probably started by the railroad 87MR back to the group. Have a great radio day. 87MR out. 87MR KM1X, you have yourself a great day too, Terry. Thank you for joining us this morning. And now we'll go down to WA6 ABC for final comments. KM1X from WA6 ABC. Well, thank you for including me in on today's festivities. Appreciate it. Glad I got in at the end. And nice hearing from the people that I did hear from. And always lovely. Always lovely whenever I come. So nice to hear everybody. And I guess we'll just close it down there. Going to take care of some cats. I got to jump in the shower. Got done with my work. Got a few bits of paperwork to handle here. Should be an OK day. Thanks very much. Off to work. Yeah, this is a little less of the organization of Annette, but seems like there's plenty of people on here. So appreciate everybody's contribution. And yeah, I lost a cat named Patches. Patches was my most personality filled cat. She was into everything and very cute, very funny. She got a headbutt from Patches. You knew you were in good shape. She was, uh, didn't love anybody but me really. And yeah, just a really cute cat. She suddenly started breathing funny and I gave it a day, you know, just to see if she'd come around and by second day she was flat on the floor heaving a bit and getting her in a carrier was was no small feat. I had to have somebody come over here and help trap her and get her in a carrier because she was not going. She was going to die at home and just such a strange thing to get somebody in a carrier knowing that you're headed to probably have her put down, get her out of her misery. But yeah, she was, I guess, I mean, I didn't know till I got there in the advanced stage of lung cancer. So she had hidden it for quite a while until it just, she couldn't hide it anymore. So that was the end of Patches yesterday. If anybody has my Facebook, there's a obituary I did with a little summary and a picture of her. But yeah, I don't, I don't know who's in the queue. We've had people come in and out. I guess you just throw it up in the air and see who picks it up. So I'll send it up to the ether and we'll see who picks it up from WA6, ABC, Michael and Rockaway Beach, New York. ABC, I certainly can relate. This is K-4QBC Jeff in North Carolina. Last Friday we had to take our Chihuahua in and she was also struggling with an infection that came on very rapidly and she had been, she was the same way. She just laid down. She couldn't stand up. So the infection had gone all through her body according to the vet and we had her put down. But we had that dog 16 years and she had a good long life. So we're sure it's been weird though. And you know what I'm talking about because you're always kind of looking for them or expecting to hear them. You know, we let this dog out every hour. We fed her every morning, gave her three units of insulin, same thing in the evenings. And it's just really wild not having them around after that long a period of time. But she was a great pet and she'll be hard to match. But man, we had that dog almost as long as we had our youngest son. He just turned 21. So he was five when we got her.
