The rare ones are probably in South Africa and, what do you call this, South Africa and Europe, some countries in Europe. You're also looking at Antarctica. On Antarctica, I only have like probably less than 10 stations that I was able to log in, but they're all at the F.D.A. and I'm looking forward to doing a phone contact on Antarctica and probably some of the countries that I mentioned that are rare, not the common ones. China is coming out strong nowadays and in the past. There's a lot of stations coming out there. So, yeah, back to you. I love when a D.A.X. station, I haven't seen before it comes up, whether on F.D.A. or on the phone and to see new countries. As you were talking, I just went back to my log book and scrolled back to the very first page and I said you were one of my first contacts. You are my very first contact. On November 16, 2024, 0251 hours, KD6CWI, what is today? Today is the 9th. We're very, very close to exactly one year from the first time we talked on this exact same repeater way back when, from KK7WID. This is repeater station. It looks like you followed my lead on logging and like I said in the past, a lot of people heard me already. I pretty much log everything, including visual contacts like Echo Link, Droid Star, Zello, Peanut. The way to log those, the most important thing is the time and the UTC and the date. The frequency doesn't matter because they'll give you a star on that. I use the default on the frequency, usually two meters, 144.000. On the comment section, I put in Peanut, it's either I use the computer or my phone, which is a Google Pixel 7. I put that on the comment and I can tell the station once we connect again, that's how we initially connected. Back to you. As I heard you were telling the guy that was running that control, you're on some sort of a crossband repeater situation here. You're on a hike on your handheld and you're hitting a node back at your house somehow to get on Echo Link. Is that the deal?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-19T09:28:33+00:00","id":41883,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":41882,"text":" Good morning Ron. On the WW7PSR repeater, I used to have my Facebook language set to Pirate English. And I left it that way for a few years, but then they removed that feature and my Facebook reverted to standard American English. And I've given up on Facebook. I haven't logged in for a month or more. And I'm not going to log in today to see if they've re-enabled that feature. It's ceased being important to me. Facebook, that is, not international talk like a pirate day. Oh, and cheers! Gonna... Leftover, yet gently reheated coffee from yesterday. The mountain is out in a kind of vague silhouette. It looks nice outside. The temperatures are very, very clement today. You know, I had a student airman's certificate as a teenager and then again in my 30s. And they expired after 10 years. And Matt has told me that they don't expire anymore. So I could get another airman's certificate and my student ticket back. But my fixed passive income isn't close enough to afford to do flying. But my dad was a pilot.
