I started working on power chords here a couple weeks ago, so I'm kind of getting those under my belt and figuring out what I'm doing there. I'm doing better at them now. Definitely learning a lot. Whole notes, half notes, 16 notes, 8 notes. He's teaching me to read sheet music as well as play guitar, so I'm having a blast with that. I'll probably stop and grab a sandwich on the way because I have until 2 o'clock to get there. And I'm just going to Kenmore. Not too bad. I just put a new microphone on the radio because my other one, you know, a JSU mic has two buttons on the top and you can press one of them, press it down to change the frequency or hold it down and it'll scan. I decided to check in. I run an animal rescue, so the animals are all fed. Spent a little time installing Echo Link on my Windows computer. And not very impressed with the sound quality. I have professional audio equipment. And oh my god, you put that through Echo Link, and it just makes it sound terrible. So I'm on my iPhone right now. But I did get it working. I got everything talking to each other. And Echo Link is officially working on my PC. I just don't know if I'm going to use it or not. In any case, here's a net. Nice to hear, everybody. Thank you for that interesting tri-quarter discussion. And maybe when I have a few extra dollars, I'll buy it. That sounds like a lot of fun. Anyway, back to net from WA6ABC, Michael in Rockaway Beach, New York. Thank you, Michael. Interesting. Yeah, Echo Link. I use Echo Link on Windows. And I guess I don't have very good ears. I don't really notice the differences too much. But people do tell me that All-Star sounds a lot better. And as I say, I'm building a node, and I'm going to get that up and going. Let's see where we are now. Let's call that a round. Let's move on to what's called arbitrarily round four. This is a 9 p.m. PSRD social net. My name is Bill, K7WSD. We're looking for people who want to chat with us. So if you have a chat in your mouth ready to go, come ahead with your call sign in your name. Whiskey zero, X-ray Oscar, Jonathan. Who's next to check in?"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-02T22:20:06+00:00","id":13786,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13785,"text":" Let's keep it rolling and go right back up to Jonathan W0XO. Come ahead. This is Jonathan Whiskey Zero X-ray Oscar in Maple Leaf. One of my last nights in Maple Leaf, actually, we moved up to a location in Everett, down by Martha Lake. I am emptying out this house over the last few days. I've been coming to the house, taking loads away in my smaller than a panel truck truck. I was very fascinated to hear Joan, and I, you know there's a song, make me a pallet on your floor. That's sort of an idiom. I have made a pallet with a lot of curtains and stuff. Somebody laying around here. I kept taking things out of the house until there was nothing to sleep on. So I did that because I decided I wanted to get some Indian food and spend the night here. But the tricorder thing was very interesting. Also, as far as the audio on Echo Link and any of those, I know how I want my audio to sound and I know how to structure it so they can sound that way to stay within the headroom and to not brick wall or distort or clip or anything like that. The problem is, seeing that and making that knowledge apply itself, it's really hard with Echo Link. It's really hard with a lot of the other things too I've found. It's just you can't, it's not intuitive and you don't get forgiven like with analog. There's no forgiveness when digital, when you overdrive you're just not intelligible anymore. It's horrible. So anyway, it's a beautiful night here in Seattle. Welcome. W0XO in Maple Leaf. Thanks for doing the net. Your voice is so pleasant. Well, thank you, Jonathan. Nobody ever complimented my voice before. That's good to know, W0XO. Thank you so much. Yeah, as I said, I don't really know much about audio. I'm just glad to get a signal out. The one thing I do like, of course, on Echo Link is it does have that test facility right built into it so you can record your own voice. You can at least hear what the tweaking that you've done, you can hear how it sounds. So I really like that. Very good. Thank you. Let's move ahead and talk to John, W7JSM. John, how are you today? Well, good evening, everybody. This is John, W7JSM. I'm doing good. I spent a lot of the day with one of the grandkids, Oswald. He's 16 months old. He's walking some and a happy little kid. But I had my guitar out today, so I put a pitch in his hand and showed him how to strum on the strings. So he was doing that and he was really giggling. He was quite enjoying that. I'll keep moving him in that direction. Anyway, I'll be mad. It's been a pretty good weekend. I haven't really been out in about a month because it's a sea fair and I know what traffic is going to be like out there. I plan on watching the hydro races and the Blue Angels show tomorrow on TV, but I haven't really done a lot other than that. So I've just been kind of hanging around the house. W7JSM. Well, hanging around the house with grandkids is extra special. And how great you had Oswald picking away at your guitar. I've noticed with our grandkids, his little kids just like music. It's just so natural. I was watching a band performance in a park a few months ago and just watching the two, three, four, five year olds, they just dance. They just get out there and dance and have a great time. It's really fun to watch. Thank you, John. You are listening to the 9 p.m. PSRG social net. My name is Bill, K7WSB. But, I guess they have the latest of the latest military technology, which might be like 30 years ago. And that you have to like shine a light and then, what does the crap happen? I'm going to go ahead and draw a line there and go back to the top to John W7JSM. Hey John, I'm ready. I'm ready for a guitar report. Please come ahead with your guitar report. This is repeaters. Well hello Rebecca and I'm ready for this John 77JSM. Yes, it was a guitar lesson today. I had a pretty good lesson today. We recapped on stuff that I was supposed to be working on all week from last week and he was happy with my progress on it. Where I was at with it, we added a couple more things for me to practice. A continuation of a song I've been learning, but I've just learned the first part of it. Now I'm going on to the second part. The Eagles take it easy. Trying to figure it out, but it should be fun. Anyway, I'm going to try to make it down to Green Lake on Sunday. I'm not positive, but I'm going to try to. Hopefully I'll see everybody down there. W7JSM. Oh that'll be fun. I hope you do make it John. Yeah, that'll be fun if you get to make it. That's great. Working on songs. Leo is really into, he's gone through phases with this, but he's really into sea shanties right now. Again, so it's been a few months, but he's back on them. So we've been listening. We've been exploring a lot of different types of sea shanties and it just makes me think of like playing the guitar. Anyway, playing the guitar and singing sea shanties. They're so fun. They're so like dark and dramatic and beautiful. Sometimes they really are beautiful. Anyway, keep on playing. I love it. Work, work, work. That's amazing. I love it. I love your guitar journey John and I hope that you get to eat ice cream on Sunday regardless. Always get ice cream. Yeah. 10 Skritches to spin and 33 to T-naught. Alright, next on the list is Madeline. KJ7. Just walked out of the grocery store and got some enchilada sauce and a couple other things. I'm going to go home and make chicken enchiladas. Sounds like a good day to do that. It's not quite as hot outside so the house won't get near as warm. So yeah, it's pretty cool out compared to the last three days. Ben's been enjoying the outside. And tomorrow all the kids and grandkids are leaving for a week and going camping over in eastern Washington. So during the day I can close the drop gate and Ben can stay out all day if he wants to. Although I think it's going to rain so you may not care for that too much. But there's now a lot going on. I'm going to get the enchilada started. We've got the laundry going. I'm going to do the dishes and then I will sit down and relax and play guitar for a while. W7JSM. Alright, well I'm not going to talk guitar technique today. I'm going to talk enchilada technique today. So real quick here are my quick questions for you. Green or red sauce is the green sauce if that's it. Is it the hatch chili sauce? And fire level? Is it like going to be, are these enchiladas going to be yesterday hot or today hot? Which to me is mild compared. And what else do you put in the enchilada? Do you use some cheese, chicken? What else do you do? Do you rice at all? And do you layer the tortillas or do you roll everything up in the tortillas? I don't know if it's the or how complete the answer should be. W7JSM go ahead. W7JSM returning. Well I use what's it called? Old El Paso enchilada sauce. And I'm making green and red sauce enchiladas because my wife likes green and I like the red. And what I do is follow the directions on the green Old El Paso enchilada can. Because it gives the ingredients right there. It's really easy though. I used whipped cream cheese, rotisserie chicken is what I do because it's already cooked. All you have to do is pull it off the bone and break it down and it's ready to go. And then diced green chilis, mild. There won't be anything hot about it because the wife doesn't do heat real well and I don't either. And then roll them up, put them in little casserole pans and then pour the sauce over top of them and a layer of cheese over top of that. They always turn out good I know that. I thought my wife was amazing at making them all the time. Years ago until I read the can until we were just following directions. I thought they were homemade. Anyway they do turn out good though. W7JSM. Wow I hardly agree with your technique I tell ya. Sometimes I do layer the tortillas with cheese, beans, rice, whatever. I'm vegetarian. But I will make chicken sometimes for my wife and my son. They love those. But they are very, yeah they like it mild and I do too. Those diced chilis, yep that's a go for me. Mild of course and oh man there's nothing like enchiladas right out of the oven. Look you can't eat it right away because you'll burn your tongue off but man they're so good. Alright if you enjoy those enchiladas that's great man that sounds really good. Alright John you have a great afternoon. Enjoy your evening. We'll talk to you soon. 1.04pm let's see what else is out there for the internet. Come ahead call, sign in now and see if you'd like to join us. Alpha Bravo 6 Mike Bravo. She's on vacation all next week so she's looking forward to being done with work today. Other than that, not a lot else going on.
