I heard it made the national news and we did unfortunately have some fatalities. I believe a car was hit by H3 and took out an entire family. Very sad situation. That is the only loss of life that I am aware of. I do not have a whole lot of time to watch the local news, let alone the national. But a lot of property damage, a lot of flooding. What essentially happened on the interstate was that particular portion of Interstate 24 and 75 where they meet is really under construction. Right now they have temporary drains in there and those temporary drains were not designed to handle that kind of flow. So that is why we had interstate issues. Some of the other areas around here, we have several levees and things around town that help direct the water. Now these have by and large fixed what used to be a very, very bad flooding problem in Chattanooga. However, if we get a lot of rain in a big hurry, and my gauge says that within about four hours we got 7 and 1 third inches. So that is what my gauge said. It is a brand new gauge too so things better be right. You get that much water that fast, it just does not have time to run off. So that was what was causing the issues. Lots of property damage, only the small loss of life, but any loss is too large. That is all I have. Anybody local have something more pertinent, go ahead and give call. W4EDP. W4EDP, go ahead. Yeah Joe, I was just going to let you know on that loss of life, the family, that was three in one car. Huge, huge, looked like an oak tree in the picture. Fell on the car and just squashed it flat. I wanna say a real quick thanks to everybody that helped us put on the Sunday Night Net. If you're following along on that, Logger started line two. Joe, K&I and Whiskey, Mr. Announcement. Line three, W4EDP. Is our background. Computer guru. Line number four, Ray, Trivia and Test Team. Line five, Mad Max. He's sitting there fixing all my mistakes on the computer as I type them in and helping me remember call signs and does anything that we need him to for Sunday Night Net. Line number six, Ms. Terry, Alternate Net Control. Line seven, Cupcake for finding us our Slow Skin pictures each week. And line number eight, Ms. Karen with the Test Team. This'll fill in and do whatever we ask her to do. Bad soup puts on the Sunday Night Net and all I do is rub my mouth. But this is, one or two people couldn't do this. You just couldn't do it. And without y'all, it wouldn't be possible either. We need you to check in. We need you to tell your friends. We need all the drop-ins and the ham network and all the repeater owners and all the people that have got all-star notes. We need every one of y'all to link up to us like you do each week and it's just amazing and we appreciate every one of you and continue to make it a wonderful hobby. All right, with that all being said, I'm gonna ask one more time for late checks, questions or comments and then I know a bunch of y'all are probably gonna sign out because we're gonna go into Slow Skin but we're getting ready for Slow Skin. Do I have any other? Do I have any other late checks, questions or comments for Sunday Night Net?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-24T18:09:31+00:00","id":23783,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":23782,"text":" Well, good evening Jim. The rest of the Sunday night net, yeah it has been painful. Before I start my usual announcement, let me just say that if you're legitimately trying to check into a net, and you've tried six times, ten times, 482 times and nobody's recognized you, for the love of life, man, give up. You have a problem. Fix your problem and then try again later, another net, some other time. Get a friend to test with you, whatever. Alright, I've said my piece. Welcome to the net everybody. Following up on what Ray said, y'all go out to sundaynightnet.org and click on that V&E cast link, and scroll down the page, we've got a little chart down there. We give a test session somewhere every week of the month, plus a floater, plus one that's quarterly. That ought to do it for everybody. But, you know, once a year we run into somebody that says that won't work for them. Well, if you're that somebody, use the contact form on the website. First off, let us know why one of the schedule sessions won't work for you. And what we can try to do to help you get licensed or upgraded. And we will do our besteses. The Tri-State Club, the TSARC, we test every second Thursday of the month. We do not charge. You can go to w4gta.org, whiskey4golftangoalpha.org. Look under that what's happening banner, everything you need to know is right there. Back to net control, W4EDP. Good deal, thank you, thank you, thank you. Alright. And we got one more. They thought I missed one person out there. Did I miss anybody? Was there another station with an announcement besides Joe? KY4FH. Ah, David, I didn't hear you. Go ahead. Thanks, Jim. Just a couple of things. First, for anyone out there who's interested in getting their general license, on September 9th, we will be starting the next general class with the Chetner-Apture Radio Club. So if anyone's interested in participating on that, please go to the w4am.net website and go to the education tab and get signed up. And we'll look forward to seeing you on Tuesday. The second item is a little ham fest that we hope is going to be a little bit bigger this year. The Chetner-Apture Radio Club will have their ham fest on the first weekend in October. We will be down at the Colonnade. It's going to be a much nicer environment than we've had in previous years and we'd like everybody to come out and join us. Again, that's the first weekend in October down at the Colonnade. Back to net control. This is KY4FH. Thank you, David. And yes, I was invited down to tour the Colonnade with Chetner-Apture Radio Club and wow. It's definitely, definitely a huge, huge, huge upgrade from what's been going on. So looking forward to that. Definitely. Alright, let's go to Mr. Announcement. Kill all November and die of whiskey. Go ahead, Joe."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-07T19:27:30+00:00","id":34804,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":34803,"text":" Sorry about that long pause. I was waiting for one of the length repeaters to drop. W4EDP. Well, we had a pretty good net tonight. We had 43 digital boats, 12 All-Star, 2 Amatuer Wire, 1 DMR, 24 Echo Link, 1 Hamsover IP, 2 Net Logger, 1 YSF. We had 22 length repeaters. Now, bear in mind, these are just the length repeaters in and around the greater Chattanooga area. We had 10 on the 14492, 220 is a good showing. We had 1 on the 22412, 1 on the 224200, 1 on the 22456, and 1 on the 22492. We had 1 on the 442075 and 7 on the 443525. We had 25 on the 79. We had 2 relays. And at one point in time, we had 28 in the net logger aim window. The record there is 36, so eh, not close. For the year 2025, since January the 1st, we've had 538 unique call signs check in with us. That was 11 new ones tonight. We had 5 countries tonight. Australia, Canada, India, Trinidad, Tobago, and the US. The record there is 8. Close. No cigar. We had 21 states. Alaska, Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The record there is 26. And, let's see, I think we had the most ever announcements tonight, but that was a total of 92 check ins. One thing that happened again last time, ya'll listen to what Ray says, especially on this email for the FCC. They only send one email and that's it. They do not try to contact you again no matter what and after 10 days they hadn't gotten their money, boom, it's over. We gotta do the paperwork all over again. Maybe we can move on now. Oh me. Hey, let's take a quick look at the weather. Let's take a quick look at the weather this week and see what's going on. Like I say, I'm pretty sure it's going to be beautiful. It's been simple. This is around here. Behind the mark is going to be 78. After that, we're on a warming trend through the weekend. Actually, through next week. We're going to get back up in the mid to upper 80s by next week. So, I don't see any rain in chance in there. I guarantee you that part will change. There is always pop-up showers this time of year, in my opinion. And I'm assuming that we're going to see some of them because we've seen a bunch. Lows are going to hover around 60. Upper 50s, low 60. So, you know, same on that air conditioning bill if you like. Open that window up and let in a little of that good old fresh nighttime air. I love that. I actually like to go out in my hammock and put it up and look at the stars. The only thing bad about this time of year is them stupid spiders. They're everywhere and I hate them. They can make me hurt myself. A granddaddy longleg. I'm liable to jump off a cliff to get away from it. I hate spiders. But I'd rather be in a room full of 12 gold copers ready to strike than a... ...couple of non-porous spiders. Alright. With that being said, we're going to jump over and let Emmett give us statistics real quick about what we heard tonight.
