It does an audio analyzer that does a fast Fourier transform. And it also has parametric instruments and electric magnetic field sensors. And it has an electronic compass built into it, three-dimensional compass, and some other doodads. But it's actually a toy. But it does this real stuff. And it's my splurge for this year. I was waiting for it for five years. And when I got the email that said there was an invitation to purchase, I had two choices, to not or to do. Sorry. Thank you, Joe. CW. I'm looking at it right now. It's kind of cool. Back to that. Well, thank you, Joe, for that quick response. Let's move on to Michael, WA6ABC. Come ahead, Michael. This is WA6ABC, Michael, in Rockaway Beach, currently in New York, New York City. And it is 1252 AM, so I am not firing on all cylinders. I just ran across this net. You asked for check-ins. I decided to check in. I run an animal rescue, so the animals are all fed. Spent a little time installing Echo Link on my Windows computer. And not very impressed with the sound quality. I have professional audio equipment. And oh my god, you put that through Echo Link, and it just makes it sound terrible. So I'm on my iPhone right now. But I did get it working. I got everything talking to each other. And Echo Link is officially working on my PC. I just don't know if I'm going to use it or not. In any case, here's a net. Nice to hear, everybody. Thank you for that interesting tri-quarter discussion. And maybe when I have a few extra dollars, I'll buy it. That sounds like a lot of fun. Anyway, back to net from WA6ABC, Michael in Rockaway Beach, New York. Thank you, Michael. Interesting. Yeah, Echo Link. I use Echo Link on Windows. And I guess I don't have very good ears. I don't really notice the differences too much. But people do tell me that All-Star sounds a lot better. And as I say, I'm building a node, and I'm going to get that up and going. Let's see where we are now. Let's call that a round. Let's move on to what's called arbitrarily round four. This is a 9 p.m. PSRD social net. My name is Bill, K7WSD. We're looking for people who want to chat with us. So if you have a chat in your mouth ready to go, come ahead with your call sign in your name. Whiskey zero, X-ray Oscar, Jonathan. Come ahead. This is Jonathan Whiskey Zero X-ray Oscar in Maple Leaf. One of my last nights in Maple Leaf, actually, we moved up to a location in Everett, down by Martha Lake. I am emptying out this house over the last few days. I've been coming to the house, taking loads away in my smaller than a panel truck truck. I was very fascinated to hear Joan, and I, you know there's a song, make me a pallet on your floor. That's sort of an idiom. I have made a pallet with a lot of curtains and stuff. Somebody laying around here. I kept taking things out of the house until there was nothing to sleep on. So I did that because I decided I wanted to get some Indian food and spend the night here. But the tricorder thing was very interesting. Also, as far as the audio on Echo Link and any of those, I know how I want my audio to sound and I know how to structure it so they can sound that way to stay within the headroom and to not brick wall or distort or clip or anything like that. The problem is, seeing that and making that knowledge apply itself, it's really hard with Echo Link. It's really hard with a lot of the other things too I've found. It's just you can't, it's not intuitive and you don't get forgiven like with analog. There's no forgiveness when digital, when you overdrive you're just not intelligible anymore. It's horrible. So anyway, it's a beautiful night here in Seattle. Welcome. W0XO in Maple Leaf. Thanks for doing the net. Your voice is so pleasant. Well, thank you, Jonathan. Nobody ever complimented my voice before. That's good to know, W0XO. Thank you so much. Yeah, as I said, I don't really know much about audio. I'm just glad to get a signal out. The one thing I do like, of course, on Echo Link is it does have that test facility right built into it so you can record your own voice. You can at least hear what the tweaking that you've done, you can hear how it sounds. So I really like that. Very good. Thank you. Let's move ahead and talk to John, W7JSM. John, how are you today? Well, good evening, everybody. This is John, W7JSM. I'm doing good. I spent a lot of the day with one of the grandkids, Oswald. He's 16 months old. He's walking some and a happy little kid. But I had my guitar out today, so I put a pitch in his hand and showed him how to strum on the strings. So he was doing that and he was really giggling. He was quite enjoying that. I'll keep moving him in that direction. Anyway, I'll be mad. It's been a pretty good weekend. I haven't really been out in about a month because it's a sea fair and I know what traffic is going to be like out there. I plan on watching the hydro races and the Blue Angels show tomorrow on TV, but I haven't really done a lot other than that. So I've just been kind of hanging around the house. W7JSM. Well, hanging around the house with grandkids is extra special. And how great you had Oswald picking away at your guitar. I've noticed with our grandkids, his little kids just like music. It's just so natural. I was watching a band performance in a park a few months ago and just watching the two, three, four, five year olds, they just dance. They just get out there and dance and have a great time. It's really fun to watch. Thank you, John. You are listening to the 9 p.m. PSRG social net. My name is Bill, K7WSB. You can even put me on the list. I've got you there on the list. All right, let's go ahead and run this. It's going to go up to Jonathan, W0, F0. Jonathan, how are you today? Hey, Ray Oscar and a new QTH. in a 20-foot shipping container next to the house and I have got really spluttery, very dismal receive audio and it's just a really tough listen, but it's intelligible. Things have been going well, we're staying dry and I'm continuing work on my new shop, trying to get the infrastructure up and I built a new workbench in the last few days. It's pretty nice. I based it on a huge aluminum I-beam that I got in Shilshole from a guy and I just wanted to work it in somehow. The basis of it is an aluminum I-beam. I'll put a picture on the chat group or whatever. Anyway, everything's going good here and I'm going to be doing And I'm planning on getting back in. You're right, I've been so out of the picture. But I plan on going down to... I plan on participating in the Radio Weekend, the camp quest. In the middle of January, there's a camp quest in Tacoma at the radio... At the Ham Radio Club of Tacoma, there's a... There is a, it's called Radio Weekend and we get young high school and junior high age new hams involved and usher them in with testing and radio sort of lessons and experience and stuff. It's a lot of fun. Anyway, I'll go back to the net. This is Jonathan, Whiskey Zero X-ray Oscar. It's great to have contact with all of you again tonight. Jonathan W0XO."},{"callsign_confidence":0.8200000000000001,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-24T01:33:48+00:00","id":92775,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":92774,"text":"All right, Jeff. No, I think you're the only regularly participating Jeff on the net. So I'm sure you're frequently here, so I'm sure people would know you. And yeah, thanks for telling me about that Raindrop. It looks like it's raindrop.farm. It's funny, I use another service called raindrop.io regularly. It's sort of a bookmarking site, kind of like, if you remember, Delicious from many years ago, or there's a few of them like that. So I had to type in the whole thing, my browser history there, but it looks like a pretty neat little site to see what's going on with the rainfall. So yeah, I think for this whole storm, Seattle proper has been holding up okay, but it has definitely been some places in the region that have been getting hit pretty hard. So I'm glad to hear the squirrels are keeping themselves busy and getting some exercise, as you said. All right, this is Paul, K7PJB. You're 9 o'clock net. We got an I.O. from Cody there. And that was it for round one. Let's go ahead and see if we can get that second round of check-ins going. Call us by any name. Whiskey Zero X-ray Oscar, Washington Zero X-ray Oscar, Jonathan."}]}
