MD KN4LBF and Josh KJ5IRQ and Ron AA4HO. What's gonna do for us? Like, you didn't get any sleep at all last night? Your sleep schedule must have really messed up. What's going on with you? This is KC2PKG, over to you, VL1UKZ. Well, it all started yesterday afternoon. Bodies started showing up left, right, and center at my neighbor's house next door. So I figured it was his wake. And so I dropped by to extend my sympathies and whatnot to his sisters and mom and stepfather and stuff. And I ended up sticking around over there for a few hours, just talking to everybody. I was running into people that I hadn't seen in, Jesus, decades, man. Anyway, I ran into a friend of mine, and I hadn't seen her since, Jesus, since a year or two after high school, maybe. And we got to talking for most of the evening. And then she dropped over here, and we were having a chat and smoking a few and watching TV and a few other things and whatnot. And just ended up up till like the middle of, well, seven o'clock this morning, I think she went home, something like that. So I was just up all night, man. And so yeah, I'll end up catching a few hours later this afternoon or something like that. I ain't got much on the go today. So it was no big deal. But yeah, I figured, man, there was bodies. There was like 50 or 60 people there, I'd say, easily. And bodies were... Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh, Chuck. Man, oh man, he's a smart guy, that Chuck. Yeah, so ended up hanging out all night, and here we are. Then I got on the radio about an hour and a half ago, and I'd just been chatting with George and Brian and Ron jumped in there just toward the end. So yeah, I'd just been awake all night, man. You know, nothing wrong catastrophically or anything like that. So yeah, back over to you, man. V01, UKZ, this is KC2PKG. Well, that's a nice story for a change. When you said all these bodies showing up next door, I was like, uh oh, what is that about? All right, VE1WIN, Peter. What is going on with you? How was your weekend, Peter? What are your plans? This is KC2PKG."},{"callsign_confidence":0.97,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T05:07:27+00:00","id":13976,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13975,"text":" W0GL, I'm sorry, so it's up to you. Okay, I have a comment about eating rice. I thought this is how it was done, but I looked it up anyways just to make sure. But for eating rice, you put the bowl up to your mouth and you scoop or shovel the rice into your mouth depending on the stickiness. So that's how you eat rice with chopsticks. W0GL, victim out. Alright, W0GL, this is KC2PKG. Now we're going to go on the truck, AA4HI. Chuck, how was your weekend, ma'am? And you have plans for the week? Something going on? When is your son coming home? He should be arriving home pretty soon, shouldn't he? This is KC2PKG, over to you, AA4HI. Craig, he's home. Take him up to the water. He's home. Keep him up in Washington, DC. Anyway, it's something weird in the tour park when a dog comes out and tries to bite a rider, but the motorcycle will scare you all behind. No one wants to get chased by a dog when on a bicycle, especially when you're going down a road like 25 miles an hour. But anyway, he's home. He's glad to be home. He's finally getting not being so tired of jet lag and walking so much. He had a great time. And I'm glad to get to see a lot of the world. And I've been on HF working a lot of parks on the air, photo stations, CW, iPhone. And also, it cooled off great. We've had a few days of cool weather. I don't know whether or not it's going to get back, I think Thursday. But good time to work on the antennas. I get to get that Delta Loop up higher. You know, if I didn't feel like getting out there, the wind is so hot and gray. I mean, it's just a musical. For two months, it's been like that. So with the cooler air, it makes you want to get back outside and do something. Look at that drop. So anyway, I'm throwing the doobie out there and take that coaxial cable out of that 20-meter Delta Loop and bring it back to a cleaner balance outside. So I can get it up higher because I didn't have any more coaxial cable. And I can tell I need it to work anywhere other than 20 and 10. So that's kind of the fun about it. I've been enjoying HF a lot. I hope you've been enjoying your FTX1. I know a lot of people want those things. And there's a lot of hype around like is everything when it comes out. And you got some saying, no, no, no, I like the 705 better. It's lighter. But you can't beat something with two bands and two antenna ports. You know, I say two bands at once and two antenna ports. So I think it's pretty darn cool. And anyway, life goes back to work this month sometime. Because it's back to school month here, anyway, down south. So there's a lot going on here. I'm glad to work at my dad's house. You know, helping him out. All he does is cruise a lot more. You know, that's his thing now. He'll pay his price a couple times a week. You know, he's got sprinklers and hiss. What he likes doing. But everything's going pretty good down here. Coming back with your gray A4 chair. This is redo. A4, A9, this is Casey, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, I am having a lot of fun. It's my next one. I use it every day. It's my second way into the net. And I can tell the hell. Because it's got so many indicators. It runs a waterfall display. It's called a waterfall going up display. It's in 3D. It has an oscilloscope display. And it has a fast pore-ne-er transform. Fast pore-ne-er transform. So I get to see everything about what you're saying. The entire audio spectrum is represented by that. It's cool. It's very cool. I love this screen though. Alright, Terry. MM0, R, A, N. Are you still going for an FTX1? Or are you waiting and biding your time? This is Casey 2, PKG. Terry, I wish you a weekend. Good. MM0, R, A, N. Return as well. Good morning, Gray. Good morning to everybody on the net. I'm going to hear everybody today. Firstly, the FTX1F. Funny you should mention that, Gray. I actually ordered one last night. I've decided to order the Optima. I spent several months watching videos, good and bad reviews. I just like doing it. I think it looks great. I like the versatility. Obviously, I go to the caravan quite frequently, my sister's caravan. I think it would be quite a good go-box radio as well as the C-3. I can see a lot of uses for me personally for using it. I just like the dual-band feature as well. The more videos I've watched, I think the more I talk to my health into it. One of the UK radio deals, a family has got stock direct from Yesu, Japan. It should be shipping. They're getting a load of them in shipping in the next week or so. I'm a little bit hoping that I manage to get one from that batch. If not, I'll just bide my time and wait out till it is available. There we go. That was my big purchase last night. My weekend was quite peaceful to go on a screen. My son and my husband, they were at a truck show on Saturday in Edinburgh. I did some of the stuff. I came home and just enjoyed some of the sunshine we had. Yesterday, I was actually attending coming on the East Nae and the worldwide friendship. I was locked in and I was sitting in my living room on the sofa. I know these off. I fell asleep for about two hours yesterday having an afternoon news there. I got up and I was just sitting there. I was just sitting there. I fell asleep for about two hours yesterday having an afternoon news there. Hang on, I'll take any hit. I must be getting to that age where I'm starting to need this afternoon nap. Hi, hi. My apologies. I've maybe not been on quite as regularly as I usually am. We're still in the school holiday period. I've been telling it out and about. I'm not talking as well, but it's been a bit of a juggle from time to time getting round everything. It still goes back to on the 14th of August. Normal service will resume, so that will be that. I was listening to Josh saying that he's on a healthy eating plan. I too have started on healthy eating. My eating was just getting a little bit out of control. I was getting a little too full and eating the bad stuff. I studied last week on my healthy eating and I've lost five pounds in weight. I'm quite pleased with that. It's working. I can do it if I set my mind to it. It taught me that the salmon actually will enjoy salmon as well. We're quite lucky in Scotland. We have lovely fresh water salmon here. We're quite renowned for our salmon actually. People actually come here to salmon fish. They eat salmon and think salmon's from here is lovely. They're a quite big fan of salmon there. Anyway, Mm0rkn, but they need control. Mm0rkn, this is KC2PTG. While you're waiting for your FTX10 rod, take a look at some of the accessories. I got one, which is kind of a taste for it. It's really a framework with handles on it and stuff like that. It makes it much easier to pick it up and move it around. It's just a big brick. I got that on it. It looks cool and it directs the sound a little bit better when it's got that on. It looks like it's in fall without getting hurt, which could happen. I'm happy with that. I'm still waiting for the Bluetooth chip and the GPS to come for mine. Those seem to be in short supply. Although I may have to go back and check and see if I actually did order those or did I just zone out in the middle of that. All right. Well, it's good to hear from you, Carrie. That's great, and you lost weight too. Unbelievable. Good for you. All right. Let's see if anybody else wants to get in on the Monday morning version of the cowabunga net and then we can get going. Come now with your call sign. This is KC2PKG. Join the conversation. We're dying to hear from you. Come now with your call sign. Remember, 9 Oscar Foxtrot, uniform in 9LFU. We did get something from Marie there, just for a second. But she didn't say anything. So we will go back to the top of the list and we'll go on to the next question. I was looking for something, I was sitting on the couch looking for something that is common to all people. Or most people. In the way of food. I want to try and ask a food question every Monday. And this one is about meatloaf. And I want to know, do you like meatloaf? Do you make it? And how do you make it? And what's your favorite kind? So tell me all you know about meatloaf. And we're going to start with Gerald, V01UKZ. Over to you Gerald, tell me all about your meatloaf. Hey, I gotta confess man. I was just watching a video and I was caught up in it. Can you guys get blueberry pie Oreos in the States? I just searched online, apparently they're not in Canada yet. But apparently they are a thing. I just saw someone eating them in a short video and they looked absolutely delicious. They've got like the white Oreo in the cookie part instead of the black one. And they got blueberry pie filling cream on the inside of these sons of guns. And they look fantastic. But what were you asking about meatloaf? Oh, not sequitur, okay. Yeah, do you make meatloaf? Do you have a favorite kind of meatloaf? How does your mom make meatloaf? We're finding all things meatloaf this morning. So over to you, V01UKZ. And I actually met Meatloaf back in the day. Back in the, I guess about 10 or 11 years old. And he was doing a concert here. It's not the Meatloaf you're talking about, but. And I ran into him and two of his backup singers. The female one and the male one. They used to go on tour with him. And I got to meet him, shake his hand, say hello. And I knew who he was back in the day because I grew up in the Meatloaf. My parents were big fans. But the meaty Meatloaf, the protein loaf that you're talking about. Buddy, I absolutely love it. And I make it the same way my mom makes it. With onions, green peppers, and red peppers. And grated mushrooms. They got to be grated because they got to be like fine in there. You don't want chunks of mushroom. Instead of using ketchup, a lot of people use ketchup as a binder. They use mustard and barbecue sauce instead of ketchup. And you got to bake it just that little bit extra longer on broil at the end of it. Because you got to get that nice crispy part on the top. You know, I haven't had Meatloaf in a while and my mouth is watering now just thinking about it. And since I started cooking everything in the air fryer, I'm wondering if I laid out a loaf in the air fryer, how well would that cook? Well, I might just have to find out, Gray. But how do you like your Meatloaf, man? Fill us in. Alright, D01UKZ, this is KC2PKG. I tend to make it, when I make it, I make it the way my mom did. Which is, you know, there's bread in it. And that becomes very important for the chew. That's what the bread is in there. And to absorb a lot of the fluid that comes out of it. And I could go on for hours about Meatloaf. And there's so many different kinds too. If you like donairs, that's a kind of sliced Meatloaf. Gyros, same thing. It's kind of a sliced Meatloaf. We're going to move on to D. D, I bet you know what we're talking about here. We're talking Meatloaf. How do you make it? Do you like it? So what do you do? KM4LBF. Well, this is KM4LBF. This is D. When it comes to Meatloaf, I have to make it for my husband. He's a Meatloaf mashed potato man. And the way I make Meatloaf, I make it very simple and fast. I even use ground meat, beef, or turkey. Depending on what's on sale. And I put breadcrumbs. Not egg, egg substitute. And my seasoning. I put different seasonings, different things to make it stick together. And I put it in the glass cookware. The same glass cookware where I make my lasagna in the grill. I use that also to make Meatloaf in the grill. And that's what I do. But when I do it in the house, I actually don't put it in the oven. I put it 4 to 5 minutes in the microwave and it just comes out just as good. And it's much quicker. So that's what I do for Meatloaf. KM4LBF, I'm going to have to say my 73 is great. Back to you. KM4LBF, this is KC2PKG. Well, we'll miss you. But we'll let you go and talk to you tomorrow, I hope. And you make it on the barbecue. On the grill. That's pretty cool. That's a good idea. AA4HO. Chuck, Meatloaf, do you like it? Do you ever make it? How do you make it? This is KC2PKG. Over to you. AA4HO. Oh, this is going to Ron. This is going to Ron, sorry. AA4HO. Meatloaf, do you like it? Do you make it? It's over to you, man. This is KC2PKG. Yeah, I'm definitely a fan, Greg. I like shepherd's pie. That's pretty cool. I haven't mastered making that, though. I usually have to eat it. You know, when somebody else made it. Though I will have mashed potatoes with my meatloaf. I tend to add a lot of fillers, like bread. Oatmeal. And then I'll put egg in it. So that it holds it together better. So when you slice it, you actually get a slice and it doesn't crumble. I add stuff like an onion soup mix with it. If not, I'll add liquid smoke. Some... Beef stock. Or bone broth. Beef bone broth. To enhance the flavor. Because I'll buy it pretty lean. And that kind of takes away from the flavor. So I'll have to use flavor enhancers with it. And bulk it up with stuff that... You know, I have to watch what I eat. Because I can't eat anything I want. And I put weight on it. So I'll fill it with lower calorie stuff. The good stuff that enhances the flavor. I even had a meat grinder around here. Where I ground my own hamburger up. So this way I knew how much fat was actually ground up with it. Instead of being so trusting and buying it from the supermarket. The ground sirloin is usually from the supermarket, not too bad. Ground sirloin doesn't really have a lot of flavor though. So I usually go get ground chuck or ground ground hamburger. If I'm going to be making meatloaf. And bake it. I've made it good in the microwave before. And actually I don't see much difference either way. So that's how I've been doing the meatloaf. When I get the urge. AA4HO Ron, you're on the start of that degree of negative control. AA4HO, thanks Ron. Yeah, you know it's interesting. I have settled on 80% ground beef. You know, try and get the 90 or 95 and it just ends up tasteless too much. So the 80% has got enough fat for real taste to it. Alright, I've got to fix a couple of things here. Alan had a comment and I want him to go ahead with his comment. Hope you can still remember it Alan. W0GL, over to you for a comment. Thanks for watching."},{"callsign_confidence":0.8200000000000001,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-21T06:08:57+00:00","id":9007,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":9006,"text":" agenda where it should be non-partisan. If you're there, buddy, the mic is yours. My policy is Josh, I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at this code stuff. I saw a guy do it yesterday, and he said to have it run on your phone once it's finished coding, tell it to develop an app that can run on Canvas. I'm guessing Canvas means your device, your phone, your tablet or whatever. So that's the code that spit out. But I don't know how to run it. And it spit out the second half, which contains additional levels apparently. So I'm not sure, man, but that's what I've been paying attention to here. And my brain is starting to hurt. Coding is not for me. It really isn't. But you can pretty much ask this freaking GPD thing to do anything. It will make an attempt. But I noticed that a documentary I watched yesterday, it's 2025. One has covered Grok and it covered Gemini and Perplexity and a few others. And it was talking about modern AI and the things that it can do. And I didn't realize you could use it to write Home Assistant scripts. Fascinating stuff. You know, you can have it do certain things. You can have it write scripts for just about anything. Websites, I mean, generate the code, upload it. There you go. It's a pretty cool realm we live in. Josh, for sure. And I don't know if you got a chance to look up those headphones that I got the other day after. But man, I tell you, I'm loving these things. I used them again yesterday for like another six hours, I suppose, all told. And the four hours from the night before, that's ten hours of battery use. And I'm only at 85%. They claim 60 hours of music playback and gaming. Or they claim 50 hours if you're using the 2.4 GHz dongle instead of Bluetooth. Which, I gotta be honest, I do prefer for zero latency, right? But these things absolutely rock. I mean, they're fantastic. The sound in them is just great. I love them. And they fit right in with the other five sets of different variants of headphones that I've got here. Back over to you, Josh. The one on you, Casey. Yeah, I'm interested in headphones. I cannot, for the life of me, find my Sony's. I've turned off the alert to everybody in my family. Dig in your bedrooms, find my Sony's. I got two headsets, both of which are $290 a piece, that I'll own now. A couple of years ago, through the kids. And I want them back. Because I think they would be perfect for net controlling. I have a headset. It's wired. It's actually a work headset. So the audio should be fairly good. It's the same style of headset that our call center uses. And they use VoIP. Of course, we have a VoIP service at our ISP. So, that being said, I have it plugged into a USB adapter, which goes to USB-C, which I can plug into my phone. It gives me the boom mic, and it gives me the headset. I don't like how it squeezes my ears. But it seems to be working really well for net control days. I don't use it any other day. Just when I'm rolling the net control because I would like to give you all the best audio possible. I should probably apply that principle every day. But I'm not there yet. The coding, man, I just look at my last mouth because I have my also note on my iPhone. And she can hear it. She likes listening to the net now. So I have that in the living room. And she is listening to it. And I'm over here using my phone and echoing to talk to you all. And I looked over here and you said that and she knew I was going to look at her and smile. Because we were doing that yesterday. I am teaching my wife. She has finally fit onto the bug. She is hooked. We have done some pretty cool things in our teenage days. And then, it's those things that I'm super interested in. I'm trying to get very interested. I'm already interested in AI. So, yeah, we are doing some pretty cool things. And she had already told me today that she had an idea that she would like to put together. And see if she can't make some money off of it. And that's what I'm trying to teach my family right now. Learn how to become a pumped engineer. That's what they call them now. That's the job title. Pumped engineer. It's funny if you ask any AI how to become a pumped engineer. They tell you that there's really no set path. There's no schooling for it. They don't have a degree. It's too new. It's done based on experiences. If you can show a potential employer that you can pump to do some amazing things, you're going to be able to find a job. You might be able to work from home. We are looking at a couple of money making side hustle ventures utilizing AI. We're hoping to make them passive money making income streams. I mean, what's better than having passive income? Absolutely nothing. At least when it comes to money. So, Dale, you and I will get together. I'll get a hold of you after the net. We'll talk about that. We may have to jump on a conference call. But I'll show you how to use that. I'm going to go ahead and take a quick break. And then a call for check ins. Okay. Okay. It is 830 Friday, August 8th. And I am in north central Texas. That means it's time to take all check ins one more time before we head to the top of the list and start our 73 rounds. So, if you've enjoyed anything we've talked about today, if you're listening and you decided, hey, I want to join, well, here's your opportunity. If you make this net great anyhow, so if we don't get to hear from you, then that's just not as good as it would have been if you would have called us. So, with that being said, come on, come on. Anybody who has not joined the cow, doesn't it? Come down with your call sign. This is KK7 in the land. 100. All star notes. W0GL. Located in Shelton, Washington. Okay. I'm for TPC. I'll be in and out. I worked last night, so I just woke up and just heard you go on for check ins. So, I was just kind of listening along here. So, I'd get ready to feed my dog and do some breakfast. Y'all take it easy. Thanks, Josh, for taking my call. KM4, QBC73. Whiskey Bravo 9, Charlie Sierra Papa. Whiskey Bravo 9, Chicago, Stuyall, Pete, Richard, Dennis, Texas, short time. Air control is setting out from Sherwood Place. We're going to take off to the station. Air control is setting out from Sherwood Place. that's entertaining take a seven egg UN that's funny what did you say capture involved you got it you got a something running on the system that takes audio and transforms it the video did Bill send me an email on this the other day or something the old UK Z yeah I got a logger set up on the whole start of it here and it records all the audio it hears and it feeds that into whisper AI that transcribes into text and it tries to pull call signs and stuff out and record the call plans that have heard and also keep the log of the transcriptions that is transcribed take a seven and you in well it is fantastic and QN I've spoken to you recently hey in emails yeah yeah a few times I was struggling with this system hopefully now I mean it's been four days now it's been dead stable so hopefully it stays stable I've been monitor only for the best four days and today's the first day trying trans leave some stuff man I hope it works out like you say any time I've got an email you about anything like that even I come across either bit harsh at all not man it's just like you say just let you know if any you know crazy crap is happening it's it's always a good idea to be letting all right away because as you know yourself this system does get very active from time to time and it just ends up with me having to send people freaking email but yeah it's all good man this stuff right it's all very experimental in its nature and there's so much stuff that could go wrong I just had to disconnect the station a few minutes ago for something very similar it was kerchunken after every single transmission just like that ten minutes ago so I mean it happens but it's never good when it happens but at least it gives you some more experience so you've obviously got a quite the knowledge of IT and whatnot if you're you know feeding stuff back through you know algorithms and doing speech analysis and stuff like that and playing around with whisper you've obviously got some knowledge in this stuff hey I've always been attracted to computers and computer control it kind of started in the automotive side and kind of crashed into like the smart home control and I got my ham radio license like oh we can do echo link and all-star and I got deep into that like late is this there's a lot of data going through the network right now I wonder if I can capture it well yeah I mean it just kind of fit balls in there a couple Python scripts and now I'm recording audio and transcripts and all that which by the way if you wanted to check that out that that take a seven and you end up dead everything public and available there you've got all great guys that are publicly exposed very very cool man very cool what's your first name again I don't remember emails and stuff yeah my name is Hunter I'm down in Shelton Washington kind of hanging around is the system works perfect as a stress test for all my custom script yes that's right same as our bill out here his son is named Hunter as well cool stuff man welcome to the hobby I don't know if you said how long you've had your license but we're a bunch of a bunch of creative characters around here let's just say that a lot of us around with AI and home automation and different things like that as well so you're definitely in good company around here now like say we do a little little extreme sometimes in the mornings with some of the topics that we discussed but that is a very very that where you can discuss anything on the cowabunga net in the morning so but throughout the rest of the day there's like regular sensible nets on here that you know don't push the limits in the mornings it's all fair game out here well glad to have you on the system man and nice to speak to you you know vocally instead of just in emails and stuff of course my name is Darryl vo1 ukz and Kevin was in there va3 kky and Alan was around there in the background w0 gl who knows who else man this thing is connected to that many countries and links and repeaters and stuff like that I'm using a local repeater here I'm coming in RF on a UHF repeater I'm just using a portable so I don't like text or text boxes or any of that stuff just strictly radio only unless I've got a login to the system and you know mute something or disconnect something or you know some other internal server command but other than that just our after that's how I like it the only UKC background to you Kevin yeah well it's good to have all these projects happening and keep ham radio fresh and interesting for everybody you know one person right there's a whole group behind most of that well anyways yeah some of that's good as far as recollection like if you want to recall something that was said a while ago I guess you know hey you know for years and we recently after several months ago got a turn back on again so it records up or can broadcast to fly 24-7 you can pull up any voice recordings that are there from the to drop in archives without being hooked up through echo you"},{"callsign_confidence":0.8700000000000001,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T04:54:13+00:00","id":16067,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16066,"text":" Alright, I heard four call signs and I got W0GL. Thank you for showing up, Adam. Always good to have you around. Peter, VE1, W-I-N, this year from you too. V01, U-K-Z, that's a terrible story. That is the saddest thing I ever heard. It's awful. And KV0, M-A-I, Trucker George. So, let's go to Peter and find out. Peter, how was your weekend? And what's going on for you this week? Yeah, morning. Graham had a good weekend. I'm heading back to Halifax today with Daddy. He's got two appointments. He wants me to drive him back to Halifax. So, we're gonna make a D-Trip out of him. I think we'll head to his anyway. Drop a few things off. I get to drive a Lexus. Whoopee. I don't know his Lexus yet, so this should be interesting. But he's trying to sell his Lexus too, because his wife bought a brand new Lexus and she's driving it back from Ontario. So, here's a Lexus. This is a 2015. He wants $12,000 for it. So, it's not a bad price, I don't think, but it's got 250-something-thousand kilometres on it. So, there you go. Back to you, Graham. I want to eat some breakfast here. I'm gonna be leaving here at about 9 o'clock. So, I'll eat my breakfast here, Graham, and then I'll stick around until I leave. So, back to you, Graham. That is cool. V-E-1-W-I-N. That's K-C-2-P-K-G. And, uh, that sounds like a good price. What, 200-and-some-odd-thousand kilometres on it? They should last, though. Cars like that are built to last. They're built at a slightly higher standard. It makes a big difference. Alright, well, we'll go on to Darrell. Oh, you've got the most depressing story of the day. That is really too bad, Darrell. So, that was your weekend, making that discovery. What else is going on with you? This is K-C-2-P-K-G. Over to you, V-O-1-U-K-Z. Oh, not much, Greg. Yeah, I was pissed, man. I was pretty pissed. First, I was confused. And then, once I looked at it, and my dad looked at it, it was clear. Someone had done it. It was sabotage of some sort. And, uh, that was my weekend, man. I was so depressed over this shit. Yesterday, I literally took a sleeping pill in the daytime. And, uh, slept most of the day, and then stayed awake all night. Uh, last night. I haven't slept, um, last night. I did yesterday in the afternoon, so, I mean, I'm tired, but I'm not really tired. I'm just more angry. The reels are spinning, man. I mean, I've got stuff here I could settle, you know, to cover it. But, I really don't want to be doing that, you know, without other things that I love, so, it's just a pain in the ass, man, is what it is, to be honest with you. But, I don't know what I can do about it, so, there's no sense in really dwelling on it. It's just so fresh in my mind that it's, you know, it just got me so pissed off. And, uh, yeah, anyway, what do you do? Well, yeah, it looks like the exhaust is completely snapped off. I don't know if you know, like, how they, you know, like, single cylinder motor works, like, on a motorcycle. The exhaust is, like, bolted to the motor, and then it's, like, it's curved, and then it goes toward the back of the vehicle. Well, right where it connects to the motor, one of the bolts are completely snapped off inside the motor, like, where it bolts on. So, a buddy of mine said that it's probably, well, it's going to need a new exhaust, chances are, because the old one is all dented up. And, uh, the, possibly, the top of the motor, like, just the head part, uh, the motor itself is still fine. I mean, I went out and I started up, and I started up first full, good to go, let's go ride. But I noticed right away it was really loud. And, uh, when I went to, you know, when I started riding it, it was really, really loud. And I could hear a rattling, and it was the exhaust pipe, man. So, yeah, you can't even ride it the way it is now. It'll literally burn up the guts of the motor if it's ridden the way it is now. So, I was told, don't even start it, don't even move it. So, I don't know, man. It had to be done when all that crap was going on over the last couple months with my neighbors and whatnot. Someone probably thought it was my neighbors and gave it a kick. That's what it looks like was done with my dad sitting. It looks like someone kicked it and landed right on the side of the tailpipe and just snapped it off. So, I don't freaking know, man. I'm just disgusted. But anyway, hopefully someone else has got some happier news today. VL1UKZ, I get on the positive side, let me reset. It's sunny, and we're finally starting to get some warm temperatures up here. We've got 22 degrees Celsius right now. It's a nice morning here. This is like the part of the summer, man. Prime riding time. And, no, that ain't gonna happen. VL1UKZ. VL1UKZ, this is KC2PKG. You know what? I haven't seen it, but I bet somebody hit it with a car. They just drove into it and then turned around and went away. Because to do that kind of damage to snap off a bolt on the exhaust, I don't think you can do that with a kick. I mean, it's a trail bike. It's built tough. So, I would be suspicious if somebody either backed into it or hit it from the side, something like that. And that's really too bad. I don't know if it's pretty, that bike has served you pretty well. You might think more about replacing it for that kind of money rather than fixing the old one up. But, it'll be up to you. You get to think about it now for a very long time. KCOMAI, George, this is KC2PKG. How was your weekend? And what are you doing this week? This is KC2PKG, over to you, George. Yeah, it can't be zero in the air right here this morning. You know, everybody. It's a little starting today, but I'm sure it'll get better. How about off getting into it this morning? I thought I rebooted my phone when I was able to get in. I don't know what the heck was causing that problem. It was on my end and a few dropped limbs. I don't know if it was anything like that. My try has been fun, huh? The weekend was just fine. We had a good weekend. I didn't really do anything special. I just got out and cut the graph. I did it all at one time and it was probably a little bit too much for me. I wound up burdened in life. I'm going to hold up as long as I used to. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November to November. I'll start Kilo 6222. About half a day, but still a better Kilo 6222. He had a grandson come over and spend the night. He was still just talking to me. It wasn't scheduled, but he just called up and said, hey, can I spend the night? Yeah, sure. I'm going out. And what else? Did the, I moved to a reset. I've been methurellic at GVT for several months now. And I've always been curious with the plastic gimping. I know the days went up to chat GVT. GVT. I'm quite better, smarter, more usable, supposedly. I just decided what the hell. So I went ahead and did a monthly subscription. And I'm reaching for a couple months to see if I can be a good city editor. I think it's worked out well for money. They kind of give stuff. Do a lot of editing on there. And a lot of research. It seems to give them a lot more. Would you just get better at parking? Yeah, but we'll see. It's just also not shut me down after a few tries. That was one of my biggest problems. I started researching stuff. So I'm asking questions and this, that, and the other. All of a sudden I say, oh, you can come back in about 14 hours. And that bothered me. So, you know, if it's a good day, they do have a plan now where you can buy yearly for like $200. So you save $40 off a year. But I just want to go off right off the bat and pay for it. I want to see if this is a viable thing for me for what I'd like to do. Other than that, I'm just, you know, going to be driving the truck for the rest of the next four days. I like to put you in. Counting the days. Counting the days. I'm not going to do this anymore. You found out me. Changing up my CDL license and never, ever looking truck again. Anyhow, back to net control. KV0MAI. KV0MAI. Yeah, you shortened that recently. Aren't you down to like a year now? And then you're going to retire? I thought you said something like that. Refresh my memory. This is KC2PTG. Yeah, I was hoping December of this year. I'm still working out the medical side. I think I got that all solved. But I'll go for sure by the end of this year. And it's going to be okay for me to take care of him. But I guess not. We're looking to go later in June. So, yeah, less than a year. Well, that's great. That is great. It's nice to know that the end is nigh. Alright, if you'd like to join in on the conversation on the Monday morning, August 11th edition of the Calabunga Net, come down with your call sign. This is KC2PTG."},{"callsign_confidence":0.97,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T06:03:55+00:00","id":16087,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16086,"text":" Alright, N0BM. Good answer. Good answer, every day is magic. Alright, KM1X. Kevin, take a shot at this question. Do you believe in any kind of magic? And you can define it yourself. This is KC2PKG. KC2PKG KM1X. Let's just get, I mean, there's magic. You know, it comes down to the definition. I mean, you know, the Penn and Teller magic is not real magic. I mean, it's all fake. It's sleight of hand or whatever. So that's not real. They call it magic. Based on your definition of not being invisible, you know, then technically, you know, the microwave oven is a magic box that will, you don't see anything, but all of a sudden the food gets hot, you know? So I guess, you know, it's a fine line, I guess, in defining what is magic and what is faith. And I don't know who it was that said it, but you know, about religion, a couple of references to religion have been made. You know, you can't see it, but that's what makes it faith. You know, you believe in it because you can't explain it. And there are things that can't be explained that you can't see. The microwave oven can be explained, even though you can't see it. So is it magic? You know, we just have a faith that when we push the buttons on the box, that whatever comes out, it's gonna be hot. You know, things like that. So yeah, I would say, I believe that there are things out there that can't be explained, but I believe that it exists, and that's, I guess, where faith comes in. I don't know, and that I would slap the magic term on it, because again, you know, I think of magic as, you know, a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat and all that. And it's not really pulling it out of thin air. It's hidden somewhere. I mean, it's all, you know, it's fake. So there you go. KM1X, back to you. KM1X, this is KC2, PKG. You know, there was this great story, and I wish I could remember the title, but it was about a land where there, witches and wizards, and the most dangerous person in the land was the magician. And he worked like a regular magician. He had tricks that he could execute. And they were all terrified of it, because there was no beating him. No beating him at all. All right. Ooh, backed by popular demands, W0GL. Alan, is there magic? Tell us what you think. This is KC2, PKG. Well, do you believe in magic? Wasn't that a song by the turtles back in the 60s? Oh, anyway, I do. I want to say one more thing about magicians. You know, the act where they throw the knife at the girl in the bowbird. They actually toss a knife behind them. That knife comes out from behind the board. I saw that a while back. But yes, I believe in magic. Anything that happens, that's unexplainable, which has already been said, is magic. Anything that you think, maybe in advance, and then it happens, that could be magic. Poresight, I don't know what. Anyway, W0GL, back to that. All right, the unexplained. We may have a question sometime when you can talk about your experiences that were not there. Not where? Not from this universe. Have you ever been somewhere, felt something, done something that was impossible to explain? So we'll say that one for another day because we have another question here. And first I'm going to see if anybody else wants to check in. So if you'd like to get in on the conversation, this morning, Monday, August 11th, this is the cowabunga, this is the place to do it. Talk about anything you want. And the next thing we're going to talk about is the note 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. For now, I just want to hear your call sign. So come down to your call sign. This is KC2PK. KR4FRR, Kilo Romeo 4, Foxtrot Romeo, Romeo. KN6, UAZ, John and Rancho Cucamonga. N9, OFU, November 9, Oscar, Foxtrot, uniform, Bill. Yeah, no answers in the text box. Don't do that. Don't do that. You shouldn't be looking them up on the side either. All righty, let's go to the big questions. They're on Discord. Okay, so we had a conversation Friday on Josh's net. We touched on this subject. It was about unfinished projects. I have a word for that or a phrase for that where they fall into the ham void. Things that you just get bored of or it gets too much of a hassle and you say, I got to do something else because I'm not getting anything done. And so you have a project sitting there that's unfinished and it can be unfinished for years and years and years but you can't bring yourself to just throw that stuff away. So I want to hear about your unfinished projects. And we will start back at the top of the net here with KN4LBF. Do you have unfinished projects that you just probably are never going to get back to or just haven't been able to get back to? Over to you, KN4LBF. This is KN4LBF. Great. I am sorry. I was brushing my hair when I heard my call sign. Can you give me the question again, please? I certainly can but quit brushing your hair. We had a conversation on Friday and I think you probably heard about it. We were talking about unfinished projects that ham people have, regular people have them too. And there are projects that get a certain amount of the way through it and then it starts taking up too much time or it's too complicated or whatever and you just don't get back to it. Do you have any projects like that? This is KC2PKG. Over to KN4LBF.
