I'm tired, oh my goodness. I've been tired for a while though. I got, as many of you know, I have young kids, and so it's kind of a constant status. But I'm going to try to make up some sleep tonight. If I can ever, I'm cranking through some work here. And had the net on in the background, and hardly hearing it, sorry guys and gals. Just sitting here focused on work. Had the cranking on the background, but you know, nothing perks up in here like someone saying last call. Oh my goodness, so yeah, man, practically, basically wakes me up, waking me up from a coma to key up the mic. Anyway, there's really not a whole lot going on. I just heard last call and thought I should jump on. I've been meaning to jump on the net, one of these nets in the evening one of these nights. But being tired is kind of a deterrent from that. Anyway, yeah, lots of fun lately. Going out and playing with the kids. We took them down to the waterfront after work today and let them play at the, there's a little park down here at the Port Orchard Waterfront. Let them play and had a lot of fun. They had a lot of fun at daycare I think. They were both absolutely filthy when we picked them up. You'd think they were wayward orphans or something. But anyway, anyway, I'm going to just stop rambling because I'm tired and I will ramble until the repeater times out. So this is Kilo 27, Gulf, Delta, November. Have a great evening all and have a great week. 73. Well, Brad, I wrote various things out. I wrote have kids in need sleep and then net on background. You know, if we could just keep you company, that's good enough. I've done that a lot of times. I just have the net and hearing the familiar voices and I don't always check in, especially lately. I've just not been getting enough peace of mind. Anyway, Brad, then you get filthy children. It's good for them. They will have strong immune systems. You know, I have read numerous places in my science ratings of the findings that a potential major cause of the rise of allergies is that the immune systems of children don't get calibrated by getting exposed to pathogens like your filthy children. You know, I still have one of my first lucid memories was on our farm, seeing some very interesting looking mud. It was in weird nodules. So of course I tasted it. You know, all I remember, the lucid memory is just how disappointed I was that it didn't taste interesting. Well, it just tasted like mud. And I found out later that those were actual poops, bug poops. This is the station Kilo Kilo 7 November Quebec November. So hopefully my immune system is okay. Take care, Brad. Alright, well you have a great week ahead there, Tariq. Great to hear you, and thank you very much for the update on the conference. Very cool, very cool. And I hope you are inspired. Well, let's go out and talk to Skipper. Skipper, now that all that downed wood and so forth on the neighbor's property is all done, what's that keep doing with yourself now? KJ7, or sorry, KJ7. KM7AJM. Skipper, good morning to you. Good morning, Jack and everybody on the net. Well, we got the neighbors done, so now we're working on the big log pile we took from them. And ours, but we took Saturday off and drove out 530 and 20 out to Marble Mountain to visit our daughter who's working at a coffee stand out there while she waits for her next quarter of classes. She's going to school to be a pharmacy technician. So we had a nice Saturday, a nice drive out there, and yesterday we hit the log pile again, started cutting up logs and stacking rounds, and today we'll probably be out there splitting. Other than that, just enjoying this cooler weather, looking forward to having the nice weather this week and being able to get some work done. Hope everybody has a good week. KM7, KJM, back to you, Jack. Alright, never a dull moment around the back 40 apparently. That's great, well it's great to keep busy, that's for sure. Hey, on the log splitter, so do you have a solar log splitter, gas powered? Is it a gravity device? Just by what means are the logs split when you're doing the round? We've got a 37-ton log splitter with a four-way head, so it splits them up in a hurry. KM7, KJM, back to net. You have the greatest tools and devices out there, that is amazing, I've never even heard of that. Oh my goodness, where does one get something like that? Can you get one at Fred Meyer? No, we ordered it from Northern Tool, they shipped it up in pieces, but their shipping department wasn't very good. Their pallets came apart, luckily the shipping company picked up all the pieces, put it in three pallets, and I assembled it when I got here, but it's a fantastic splitter. Back to you, Jack. Oh, that is amazing, oh man, I bet those rounds they don't even have a chance, not even a chance. How would it do? Okay, one last crazy question, but you know, I do want to know these things because I think of them, right? So, hey, you got the person who knows or could answer the question on the line, why not ask them? So if you had something like, okay, Cherrywood, I know that's really Dancer Teague, things like that, I mean, again, no prob, right, 37 tons? Well Cherrywood, I use in the smoker, it's great in teak wood, it's good to make furniture and things like that out of, I wouldn't put either one in the wood stove. Back to you, Jack. Alright, well that's a good use of materials right there. Alright, yeah, that's great. Hey, thank you so much, you have a great day, have a great weekend, good to hear you on the morning net. Alright, Steve, W4CRQ, haven't heard from him for a while, he dropped by with an eye out, thank you sir. But then, I figured the last round or two, I have found that this network's best when net operators step out of the equation a little bit. Some of the best discussions I have experienced on here haven't necessarily started with the net operator. It is what somebody else talks about. And so, in that ideology, I'm hoping that's what happens with the final couple of rounds every Friday morning with me. That somebody brings up something that's of interest to them and then brings up interest to everybody else and I can kind of sit back on easy street. You know what I mean? And while on my way to get the bike fixed, I've got a temporary job from my uncle. He runs a bus company, and they're doing transport back and forth for the Canada Games this year, until the 28th of August, and he needs those buses cleaned out in the evenings, so I'm going to do that, and that's going to be able to give me the rest of what I needed to get the bike fixed up there, so looking forward to that, that's for sure. They did issue mandatory evacuations last night for a section of the town next to ours called Paradise. The area called Three Island Pond in Paradise, Newfoundland is under mandatory evacuation because of wildfire concerns, and another area called Southlands, which is part of St. John's here itself, is under a wait-and-see evacuation order. It's recommended that people get out now, but if you don't want to, they're just on a wait-and-see for the complete evacuation order there, the mandatory one. So hopefully they get that fire under control. They've got six water bombers now that are back and forth from sunup to sundown, a thousand that thing, and they've been doing that for the last couple of days with four water bombers, and they just brought in two more from Quebec. That'll be six that they've got working very, very vigorously trying to get these fires knocked down. We often don't get them in eastern Newfoundland where it's currently burning on the Avalon Peninsula or where I live, so really hope that they don't spread any further. But last I heard, they had something like 200 firefighters and six water bombers working on that thing, so hopefully they get it knocked down soon. Other than that, man, it's back over to you, 73, and all the best from here on the rock. Wow, that went from good news to bad news. I'm glad you're getting the bike fixed, and yeah, good deal on that job. It sounds like it came at the right time for sure. And you guys never have any good conversations over there at the California Nutt, do you? It's never controversial either. And the fires, I guess paradise isn't so paradise-y, huh? Well, you have a wonderful day if you can, and maybe put on a face mask as Art always says, no matter where you are. Oh my goodness, you guys are really going through it up there, and I wish you all the best there. Keep us informed. I'm sure with all those bombers and firefighters, they should put it out really, really quickly. One should hope. But you're not too far from the water, so you can always take a little step, right? All right, like I said, we've got the Canadian contingent here, and I love Canadian. It's one of my favorite problems. Oh, only kidding. Here at 6GR is that good money for you. GV2R2QVA6GR said, hey Brooklyn, Bobby, how you doing? We're doing OK. The weather is shitty. Oh, excuse me, crappy. That better work. I had to check myself there. We got 15 Celsius climbing to 16. Not 15, 16. Very cloudy and showers. Yeah, I was saying about the thunder lightning storms they had, well, we had them last night, too. It was pretty close, I tell you. I'm glad I came downstairs and disconnected the antennas from the coax cable from the radios so they don't get fried if they ever get struck. But my antennas are down fairly low. They're like 25 feet above ground. But you never know. They can be, turn my radio down there, they're chunking on one of the local repeaters. You never know, they can be a lightning rod. Undergrounded. So, anyway. And there's much else going on today. I'm going to go pick up my acoustic bass. It was in the shop on the McCoy North side. So I'll go get that after the net. It's about 8 o'clock, part time. So, here in Alberta. And Tracy's gone to work and she's been fighting a flu. Must have started with a hab in the cold coming back from the island a couple, beginning of the month. Pardon me, the end of July. So, anyway. Ya'll have a good day. Bye for now. Thank you, my mate. KBTR2286TRZ. You're a zit, huh? Hey Bill, how you doing? And I like your description of the weather. Crappy. Oh my goodness. You Canadians are funny people. I'm glad you have a sense of humor, bud. You need it around me, that's for sure. And your wife likes to work for the flu. That's what I call sharing, for sure. Alright, thanks a lot Bill. We'll check you down in a while. Next up is AP-17W. entertaining take a seven egg UN that's funny what did you say capture involved you got it you got a something running on the system that takes audio and transforms it the video did Bill send me an email on this the other day or something the old UK Z yeah I got a logger set up on the whole start of it here and it records all the audio it hears and it feeds that into whisper AI that transcribes into text and it tries to pull call signs and stuff out and record the call plans that have heard and also keep the log of the transcriptions that is transcribed take a seven and you in well it is fantastic and QN I've spoken to you recently hey in emails yeah yeah a few times I was struggling with this system hopefully now I mean it's been four days now it's been dead stable so hopefully it stays stable I've been monitor only for the best four days and today's the first day trying trans leave some stuff man I hope it works out like you say any time I've got an email you about anything like that even I come across either bit harsh at all not man it's just like you say just let you know if any you know crazy crap is happening it's it's always a good idea to be letting all right away because as you know yourself this system does get very active from time to time and it just ends up with me having to send people freaking email but yeah it's all good man this stuff right it's all very experimental in its nature and there's so much stuff that could go wrong I just had to disconnect the station a few minutes ago for something very similar it was kerchunken after every single transmission just like that ten minutes ago so I mean it happens but it's never good when it happens but at least it gives you some more experience so you've obviously got a quite the knowledge of IT and whatnot if you're you know feeding stuff back through you know algorithms and doing speech analysis and stuff like that and playing around with whisper you've obviously got some knowledge in this stuff hey I've always been attracted to computers and computer control it kind of started in the automotive side and kind of crashed into like the smart home control and I got my ham radio license like oh we can do echo link and all-star and I got deep into that like late is this there's a lot of data going through the network right now I wonder if I can capture it well yeah I mean it just kind of fit balls in there a couple Python scripts and now I'm recording audio and transcripts and all that which by the way if you wanted to check that out that that take a seven and you end up dead everything public and available there you've got all great guys that are publicly exposed very very cool man very cool what's your first name again I don't remember emails and stuff yeah my name is Hunter I'm down in Shelton Washington kind of hanging around is the system works perfect as a stress test for all my custom script yes that's right same as our bill out here his son is named Hunter as well cool stuff man welcome to the hobby I don't know if you said how long you've had your license but we're a bunch of a bunch of creative characters around here let's just say that a lot of us around with AI and home automation and different things like that as well so you're definitely in good company around here now like say we do a little little extreme sometimes in the mornings with some of the topics that we discussed but that is a very very that where you can discuss anything on the cowabunga net in the morning so but throughout the rest of the day there's like regular sensible nets on here that you know don't push the limits in the mornings it's all fair game out here well glad to have you on the system man and nice to speak to you you know vocally instead of just in emails and stuff of course my name is Darryl vo1 ukz and Kevin was in there va3 kky and Alan was around there in the background w0 gl who knows who else man this thing is connected to that many countries and links and repeaters and stuff like that I'm using a local repeater here I'm coming in RF on a UHF repeater I'm just using a portable so I don't like text or text boxes or any of that stuff just strictly radio only unless I've got a login to the system and you know mute something or disconnect something or you know some other internal server command but other than that just our after that's how I like it the only UKC background to you Kevin yeah well it's good to have all these projects happening and keep ham radio fresh and interesting for everybody you know one person right there's a whole group behind most of that well anyways yeah some of that's good as far as recollection like if you want to recall something that was said a while ago I guess you know hey you know for years and we recently after several months ago got a turn back on again so it records up or can broadcast to fly 24-7 you can pull up any voice recordings that are there from the to drop in archives without being hooked up through echo you"},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T12:12:32+00:00","id":14079,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14078,"text":" Maybe it was John in Poles... I feel like it was Michael. Was it John in Polesville? Am I mixing up the two deepest voices in the Pacific Northwest? Oh, well. Maybe I did, maybe it's me. This is Rebecca, KK7IJZ. You're listening to The New Net on the PSRT. We're here in Seattle, Washington. We had an I.O. from Peter in Santa Cruz. We had an I.O. from Ethan in Linwood. We had an I.O. from Darren, who is mobile. And yeah, let's take some more check-ins. Call sign-in name, RF, and internet. KA9MLR, Megan. 33, Megan. Why don't you come ahead with your report? Good afternoon, Rebecca, and everyone out there on the net. 33 is back to you, Rebecca. I am back home here. It's been a busy morning. We are home and back at it, Rebecca. Brooks' office is going to get redone. So it's the last day of the paint sale. So I ran after I did some tutoring this morning to the paint store to get a couple samples. And then I did a couple other little things in the middle of my name change. And now I'm just kind of running around. I need to go put the samples on the wall, because like I said, it's the last day of the sale. So I need to figure out which gray I am painting. Because I want all of our bedrooms to be the same gray. They're so close to each other that I was like, ugh, doing different grays, I think, would be too much. So that's what I'm up to running around all over the place. But I'm having a great day. Thank you for doing that. 73-1-9, MLR. Megan, that sounds so sad. All of your bedrooms are the same gray. Gray is gray. But I get it. People love gray as a neutral. I don't buy it. Gray is not a neutral. But Megan, congratulations on the name change. What are you changing your name to? Like Nancy, Carrie, Susie, Jennifer. Back to you, Megan. I got a good chuckle out of that, Rebecca. No, I will be going from Megan Ralph to Megan Courtright. Now they're Brooks and I got married. So that's the big name change. Nothing too exciting. So I'll still be Megan. And I'll still be K9 MLR. Just my last name won't be Ralph anymore. Thanks for the question, Rebecca. K9 MLR. I had a feeling that was the name you were changing. But you never know. You never know. 33-Megan, good luck picking out the gray. I want my bedroom to be gray. Megan, all of you gray people. Gray is gray, Megan. Anyway, moving right along. Let's get some more stations. You're listening to the new net. What's going on, y'all? It's the beginning of the week. Call sign and name, RF and internet. Victor Oscar 1, uniform kilo Zulu. Victor Oscar 1, uniform kilo Zulu. Darryl on the rock with an IO, 73. K-5, California River, well well on the city. Thank you for your IO, Darryl. And Will, OK. Will, Will, why don't you come ahead with your report? Over to you. Well, I just wanted everybody to know that today is my birthday. So I and a friend of mine are going to go show everybody here in a little while. So anyway, we're going over here to IHOP and have a little birthday dinner for me. And we'll see what happens the rest of the evening. So anyway, back over there to you, Rebecca. This is KJ-5, California River. Well, happy birthday, Will. I mean, you could do a restaurant round up because you can just get birthday desserts or dinners from all of the chains and give birthday stuff. That sounds like fun. A whole bunch of birthday songs and a whole bunch of birthday chocolate lava cakes. But anyway, happy birthday, Will. Thanks for sharing that with us. And have a wonderful, wonderful Monday and a fun birthday dinner at IHOP. All right, more stations. Call sign and name, RF and internet. This is John, below 9, Juliet, Echo, Bravo, K9, K-8, trying to make it through the angry bees. I'll be in and out. Good afternoon. You don't have to be in and out, John. You sound great.
