That's the whole point of it. Glad to hear you had a good Wednesday and you're getting ready to go to that event. That's pretty cool. Good luck assembling the outfit. That sounds like you're making it from scratch, which I wouldn't be very good at. Good luck there, Ann. It was great to hear from you and we will talk to you again soon. I've kind of been wanting to make one, Jeff, but I've got so many things that I want to do. I need to erect this 160-metre vertical first before I even play around with anything else 160-related, but as far as I know, they're fed with balance line and it's like a dipole, but it is fed with balance line. So, um... But, yeah, I've never bothered to look into the specs too much, Jeff, to be honest, but that's what a lot of them run at Marconi Tees. So, yeah, but... But pretty much a lot of them on this net run verticals because obviously, once it sits here, it doesn't go as far during the day as what it does at night time. So, um... So, during the day, it's all about your ground losses. So running a vertical with lots of radials to try and eliminate your ground losses. So as you get out a bit further on 160 during the day at night time, at the band, it propagates completely differently. You can work interstate, not a problem, at night time. They're like 80 metres. Very much like 80 metres. Um, yeah, a lot of the guys, a lot of them run vertical, and it's all about the counterpoise to try and reduce those, the ground losses. So it makes it harder with an antenna large. You need room for radials and you need to be relatively close to the guys to work. Where I live, it's just too far away and it's pretty... It's not impossible, but it's hard to do. AB6MB, VK3KK. Um, yeah, I guess you are dealing with verticals. You know, some way you can, you know, with the capacity hats, other tricks like that, you can, you know, give you a chance for working guys out of the area. Yeah, I can't get it. Yeah, so yeah, by doing that, you can cut your losses down and then try to get enough power left over to get out there and then work the different stations. Yeah, good job, though. Yeah, like I said, I don't know if anybody really talked to it, actually. It works 160. And you describe what you're doing, it just all sounds like really good engineering on the antennas. So yeah, definitely you need a vertical instead of a dipole, you know, because that's just going to be really low to the ground and most of your, you know, radiation is going to go straight up around a vertical, you know. They'll come out at least somewhat of a decent angle going out that way. Yep, yep, good engineering there, Sean, AB6MB."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-06T21:27:22+00:00","id":14798,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14797,"text":" on PSRG eating your time. This is VK 3 kilo kilo here from the land of the future, where it is 10 past two in the afternoon. And Megan, I've actually taken a couple of days off work, so I've a couple of days owed to me. So I've driven about one hour and a half east of my QTH to the capital called Melbourne, which is in Australia. Those that know the map of Australia on the southern east coast of Australia, the state of Victoria, and I'm in Melbourne. So if you've got nothing to do, look me up, hi, hi. Anyway, I'm just sitting at the outdoor section of one of the local bars here. I've just had a nice lunch. And yeah, I'm just waiting for my friend to knock off. I'll be staying the night at a friend of mine's QTH tonight here in town. And he's a ham, and we're gonna do a few ham radio projects tonight at his place. So I'll be staying the night. So I'll be spending the night with him and his family. And yeah, I'm looking forward to that. And of course, I did make a nice chocolate ripple cake last night in this morning. So I'm sitting in the car in the fridge keeping nice and cool chocolate ripple cake with cherry ripe on top. So I'll have to send you a pic, but you're looking forward to having that later on tonight. And yeah, so we're enjoying ourselves. Good to get away for a while. It's been pretty cool here. And so we're bringing on spring. That's all I can say. Back to you, Megan. Thanks for hosting. And catch you all. Oh, and of course, how could I have to park without saying radio wave to Miss Trixie and Remy as well. Cheers to you and back to you. Cheers all. VK 3 double K here from the land of the future. Back to you. Well, Shawn, that sounds like a great couple of days off of work. Got out of town, even though you didn't go that far. That's okay. You don't have to go that far. Just getting out of town. And then you had a nice lunch. You're gonna hang out with another ham friend and work on some ham projects at QTH. Yeah, that's always a good time. And then you made some delicious chocolate cake. Yeah, that sounds really yummy. And you sound like you put some time into it. So hopefully it's as good as it is. And in the fridge, in the car. Wow, Shawn, you have the whole set up there. You have a great time with your ham friend there and have a great rest of your time off there, Shawn. We'll talk to you again soon. Okay, it is 9.12 p.m. I'm K9MLR Megan. We had an IO from Cody AG7LR. Thanks for dropping by, Cody. You have a wonderful rest of your evening. And now we're gonna go talk to Bill, K7WSB. How's it going, Bill? Well, good evening, Megan. This is Bill, K7WSB. I am up here in Steveson, British Columbia. My wife and I are going over to Vancouver Island on the Sosson Ferry tomorrow. And we thought this would be a nice jumping off point. For those who've never heard of Steveson, which I never had until recently, it's southwest of Vancouver, just at the mouth of the Fraser River where it dumps out into the Gulf of Georgia. Nice little town, nice little motel, and a nice little meal. So it's a pleasant trip. I wanted to report on something that is exciting to me, being a techno nerd, because when I travel, I just use Echo Link to get back into PSRG. And I've had trouble over the years with dropping out and, you know, if the screen goes dark, it's all just linked to all kinds of problems. So I decided to see what All Star had to offer. And I just had all my travel open All Star mode on my phone. So I just did this thing called Web Transceiver Mode. All Star, oh, I'm sorry, this is DV Switch Mobile. I'm an Android app. DV Switch Mobile, you put it into Web Transceiver Mode, and it runs like a champ. I've had it running now for an hour and a half, sitting on PSRG, not dropping out. And it's full duplex, so I don't have to, it's not too hard to get in. And it works. I recommend it. DV Switch Mobile, Web Transceiver Mode, go do it. Back to you, baby. This is 27 WSP. November, All Star Node 16-2, located in Shelton, Washington. Well, Bill, that sounds like a great trip. You're up in British Columbia, going to Vancouver Island tomorrow. Yeah, that is such a beautiful area. I do know that area because my coworker, my counterpart at work, she and her husband plan to retire up in that area. They have been traveling out and about around lately up there trying to see where they would like to retire. So yeah, such a gorgeous area. I'm a little bit envious there. Bill, you have a lovely time. And yeah, sorry to hear about Echo Link. I know sometimes it works really well for people, and sometimes it doesn't work very well at all. So hopefully you will find the right thing for you, Bill, and it will keep working for you. You sounded great tonight, though. So whatever you were doing was working great. Have a fantastic time, Bill. And we will talk to you again soon. Okay, last but not least on my list here is Matt, KJ7WQI. It sounds like you're maybe in Seattle. Take it away, Matt. Hey, family man. All right. I did take down a note of what Bill said there because it does seem a little more convenient than Echo Link, a little more able to jump in there. It was good to be able to see what you guys were doing. I think it was good to see what you guys were doing. I think it was good to see what you guys were doing. I am here in town. It was quite a journey to get over here. We flew Boston to Chicago, sat around for four hours, and then flew Chicago over here to Seattle. And unfortunately, I'm in a hotel room tonight that does not have very good RF systems. I'm in a hotel room, and I'm going to be sitting in a hotel room where I can get my hands on my phone. And I'm going to be sitting in a hotel room where I can get my hands on my phone. I have very good RF capabilities. I was trying before the net got on, and I cannot hit the PSRD from here. I can hit a few other things, but not enough to be hurt. So I am on Echo Link tonight, unfortunately. And then tomorrow we fly from here to D.C. And then from D.C. back to Boston. But yeah, quite a day. We found out in the air on the way over here that my airline had had an outage with the weight and balance system, which basically grounded every airplane that we had trying to take off. It's kind of wild. It's going to kind of lift up some air travel for the next couple of days because those schedules are packed tightly. So if you are traveling by air for the next couple of days, just be aware there's likely to be a couple of delays. But we're hoping to get out of here tomorrow. I have to show up at the airport. I'm supposed to be on an airplane at 1215 tomorrow, so I'm going to be able to catch just the first couple minutes of the net. But I should be here for the 9 a.m. net in the morning, which will be nice. Other than that, that's all I got. It's been quite a day. I've got a good 17-plus hours here in Seattle to relax and enjoy the nice weather because it is beautiful. Pilot told us on the airplane, he's like, it's probably going to be rainy when we get in. Turns out it was beautiful outside when we got in, so I love that that turned around. Anyways, thank you for running that, Brooks and Megan. Hope everyone's doing well. All the numbers, 73, 33, 88, 22, I don't know. Are there other numbers? I need to come up with that. Anyways, KJ7WY. Well, Matt, I'm glad to hear you got here before the checks and balances system went down because that does not sound like that would be a fun delay after going from Boston to Chicago and Chicago to Seattle. So I'm glad you made it before that delay, and hopefully you'll be late enough tomorrow that it will kind of catch itself before you need to head back out. And at least you're going the short way home this time, Hi Hi, and not the long way, like you normally do through San Francisco. Safe travels back to Boston tomorrow and back to, I think, the humidity. Take care of yourselves, Matt. Get some rest and, yeah, bummer that sometimes when you get near the airport, you just can't get into the PSR repeater, which is always a bad day. What you mean there. Glad to hear you connected with Amy and Madeline while you were in town. It's fun to hear when people pass through. You take care. Safe travels back tomorrow, and we will talk to you again soon. Okay, with that, it is 9.20 p.m. I am K9 MLR Megan. Gonna pass it over to K9 and BDC to run the next list. Yeah all good. Yeah look I agree All Star is the best standing audio it is and P25 in my opinion would be second but DMR would be at the bottom of the list by far. Anyway but yeah look we'll see how we go but anyway if you remember the talkgroup 10400 and that's what we've got one of our unique task systems sitting on at the moment. So on 10400 the Pacific talkgroup, I'm not quite sure if we're going to stay on 10400 or whether if we're going to in the long term change to another talkgroup. But currently it's on 10400 there anyway. But anyway, what else have I got to tell you? I've got two more All Star nodes now up and running as well. I've got two more nodes running so I've got a total of six nodes now running. Call me crazy but I've got six nodes on and working so two of them are dual nodes, Eco, Link and All Star. And the other four are just All Star only but anyway it's all going IP now these days. I sort of wish there was more activity on the local RF only side of things but they're really using it to get thinner and thinner Jeff as time goes on. So I invested in two more All Star nodes to cover me for the future because that's the way the hobby is going. AB6MB, you're VK3KK, back to you. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven November Quebec November All Star node... Yeah, yeah it's AB6MB here. Yeah you're right about the, I think Link and the repeaters is really the way of the future. I'm assuming that's what we're kind of talking about. But yeah, because that way you've got more territory covered and more people so you can get the usage up that way. Yeah that's really big, having the Link repeaters and like Papa's system has got how many we have, eight repeaters with D-Star, DMR, P25 and what's the other one? Anyway, but yeah by Linking it gives your usage up. But yeah that's been one of the things people have been complaining about repeaters for a while that there are a lot of them out there but they're not being used. So I just think that Linking them is over IP and that's a good way to just cover more area and have more people available and hopefully get your usage up. Wow, what a great day, not as hot, it's a little bit cooler, we had a little bit of sprinkling here in the organic garden out back. I'm now back in the shack here. Yeah, I've just got a couple of really awesome things that are coming up. One of them being a couple of different type of rain or shine nets. And the first one is September 27, it's being hosted by our friends over at the Lake Washington Ham Radio Club at Wilmot Gateway Park. So I really, really want to make this one because it's going to be their last one of the season. We've got another one or maybe even two coming up for sure, but the Wilmot Gateway Park is a really cool park. That is September 27, the Lake Washington Club runs from about 9 to 12, 30 or so. So I encourage everybody to go out and check that out. And let's see, so in October we are going to be doing the next rain or shine net with pumpkin carving down at Gasworks Park. I don't have the date yet, but I'll get back for everybody. It's going to be as close to Halloween as possible, so it can't be on Halloween if it's a weekday. But hey, no big deal there. Great to hear everyone. Like I said, I also have a couple other things real quick. And that is, hi James, hi Matt, hi Pete, and hi Rich. Rich is working on a really interesting thing, he'll tell you about that. It's just amazing. And Pete, I called Pete, left him a message saying, Pete I've heard from you for a while. Hey what's going on? Look here he's coming up in the queue. Yeah I saw something in one of the online ads for this new Benchmade EDC Everyday Carry Pocket Knife. Oh, this thing is a work of art. At $325, a little bit out of my price range. But Pete and I like to talk about such things sometimes. So anyway, great to hear from him as well. Alright Kirk, I'm going to hand it back to you. Oh yeah, one more thing. You know Sean out of Ballarat, Australia, in Victoria, Australia, VK3KK? Well November 5 is VK3KK Day. I now pronounce that, I've done that a couple of times. He's going to be here in town and hope to spend some time with him on that day. And we'll get some more information out on that and all these other great things. Kirk, great job. Nice to hear you. Always the way. VK3KK here from the land of the future. We're still pitch black here Jack, it's starting to lighten up now. It's starting to lighten up now, quarter past six in the morning over here. Yeah Jack I'm pretty excited, I get to see my travel agent tomorrow, we've got a few things to go through so I'll be seeing her tomorrow and yes my friend we are looking forward to coming over, slowly getting things in order and things are looking pretty good at this point so pretty excited about that. Thank you very much for setting aside a day for me, that'd be great. Catching up with those who want to catch up with me, that'd be awesome. So yeah that'd be great Jack, looking forward to all that. What else is going on? Yeah Jack I've been struggling to make the new nets of late just with the time difference and everything. As a matter of fact I fell asleep with my scanner running during the night and the new net woke me up this morning which was a good thing because it was only about half an hour before my alarm was going to go off anyway. I was half asleep before Jack during Cammie's transmission, I think she mentioned something about Dr Pepper, I love Dr Pepper, oh I love it, love it. I'm assuming it was the soft drink she was talking about, or maybe not, don't know I was half asleep. What else is there? I've got a hand test coming up in the next, not this weekend, the weekend after so that'll be a three hour duty north so I'm looking forward to that. And what else is there to report? I think that's about all Jack but as I said haven't made the new nets a lot lately, it's just been hard with time difference but we are in spring now here in the land of the future, we have entered spring. I've noticed a great deal of difference weather wise at the present time but bring it on. Bring on the warmth and hopefully in November I'll be saying the same thing but it might be bring on the cold when I come over there. Let's say if it's not too cold in the past when I touch foot in the USA. As far as water running the other way Jack, well I tell you what Jack it wouldn't surprise me if it did because everything about Australia and the United States is all different. Hey everyone, hey John, hey Sean, Radio Wave, VK3KK and hey everyone hope you're having a good night. And yeah I'd just like to say hi to everyone, good to hear everyone on tonight. I hope you enjoyed the show tonight, I certainly did. I know that Reichi wasn't so excited about it but 1967-69, 1969 Pink Floyd, the Umagama, I always said Umaguma but I guess it's Umagama album. I haven't heard it in a long time and was going to play it right off the CD because the nice thing about playing off the CD is that when tracks overlap, run into each other, it's continuous off the CD. Where if you download it and you're playing individual files there's not much of a gap but there's a little blip going from track to track. And unfortunately my CD that I bought, I couldn't, oh I thought I disconnected there. I couldn't say when I got it or how old it is but I probably had it for 20 or 30 years now. And I don't know if it's oil from the skin or something that gets on the top surface of the disc but it's damaged that very thin plastic that's on top of media and seep through to the actual stuff, the little aluminum layer in there where all the information is and you can look right through it if you hold it up to the light. I don't know what's gone wrong there but I had to go download it. I had the discs in the machine expecting to play it that way and ended up putting them back on the shelf. So I still have the artwork and all that but the discs themselves are, I think the first disc might still play. I didn't actually try it to the end to see if it would play but the second one definitely near the end of the disc starts dropping out and stops altogether and don't know what happens."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-07T12:52:36+00:00","id":55434,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":55433,"text":" Tim, go ahead with your comment if you would, I believe you have a comment, KI7ZEI. And let's go ahead and do some announcements before we get more stations here. And unlike many times, I have a tab, but there it is. So a couple things to consider. As I mentioned earlier, tomorrow's new net will be a live one, so to speak. And that, sorry, I deliberately sequester Facebook to a single device, which is not a computer. So, yeah. Tomorrow's new net will be transmitting live from Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. And we'll have a special edition of the new net as Sean VK3KK, visiting from Australia, teams up with Jack, K7RMU to co-host this international event. So either stop by or stop by virtually via the net. And we've got the next educational meeting this Saturday, November 8th, satellites in the ISS, 1.30 p.m. on Zoom, amateur radio in space, operating ham radio satellites in the ISS, presented by Mike Thomas, KBA, B.M.Y. for now to work ham radio satellites using modest equipment, including focusing on the ISS. So, yeah, sure, if you're at all interested in that, good meeting to attend. I'm sure it will be a great presentation. Finally, the weekend before Thanksgiving, warm up those radios for the repeat-around about. Make some contacts, discover local clubs, go all the way around the repeaters in the area. The event is a casual repeater-based contest that's also very beginner-friendly. Join us on November 27th and 23rd. And you can visit the website at repeaterroundabout.com. So, look, I'm looking forward to Thursday and awesome stuff. Alright, next on the list is Rebecca. Hi, Rebecca. I've joined your net a few times. So thanks for coming out here today. KK7IJZ, how are you?"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-11-05T12:43:31+00:00","id":76079,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":76078,"text":" Well, thank you, Ryan. Appreciate you coming out here today. You can always tell when someone's on an app like DV Switch or whatever when they've got the beep when it happens. So that was a dead-to-giveaway when you came up with your transmission. So you can always tell when someone's using their DV Switch. I've got my DV Switch all organised. I've got four nodes turned on back home and one of them's still connected to PSR, actually. So I'm actually going out on my local Fairgate 3 RKK repeater back at home. So there you go. Anyway, thanks, Ryan. All right, we're up to Sydney Station. So is there any more stations that would like to join the NUNET this afternoon? You've got Sean here, VK 3KK, currently visiting Seattle, and of course the netmaster himself, Jack KI7 RMU. Any further check-ins for the PSRG NUNET? Please call now. Zulu-India 7, Zulu Echo India, Kim. Way north east and I should be there in a few minutes. Um, yeah, um, suddenly I'm back here. Well, I'm back on the air. I had two batteries for the Seph 6. One, the, uh, and the batteries in these, the controller for the charge controllers in the battery. And it had flaky connections and the heat from a flaky connection ate the controller, but the cells were good. So I found out when I opened it and the other, the other battery disappeared, so I had to order a couple more. It took a couple weeks to get here for Amazon and free shipping. So, back on the air with these and it was at, uh, saw, uh, VK 3KK at the Windy Net again up there. That's quite a location for doing, uh, wind, uh, things. Uh, like, you know, watch the, the, the flying, uh, well at Gasworks Park it was, uh, the first thing I saw go by was a pie cover from Costco, pumpkin pie. And yesterday it was, uh, well, a couple years ago we had, um, it was a house. The toaster waffles were flying and, and the table cloths and coffee cups and everything. So it was just everybody was just hunkered down and having a good time. And, uh, running a net as always, uh, Jack is just quite the net master. Thanks Jack for doing that and having one of those impromptu, uh, nets up there. That's a good turnout too. It's easy to bring them in here. We love our nets and, uh, thanks for running this again Rebecca. And, uh, yeah, I'm going to try to keep from, this one's still running and the connector's still working. I got connectors, I've got a couple other connectors. Now I still got to connect six of the other radio with a stuck button. My two meter almost connector's got a stuck button. But it gets side-banded and stuff. When I can stop this frequency scanning. Yeah, eight years and, uh, seven years in a row. Nice to hear everyone there. Condolences to you, Mr. Terry, for the loss of your sister. I'm very sad about that. I hope you maintain calm and it's really great to hear you. It has been a while. Well, I had something for Brooks and Megan and everybody else. If you want a fast Internet, if you've lost service, boy, boy, if you could tap into this at some point, they've got a new cable they're doing under the sea between Maryland and County Cork in Ireland. This is for Amazon Web Services. It's one of many cables and links they have worldwide. But listen to this, Rebecca. 320 terabytes per second. 320 terabytes per second. That is enough bandwidth to stream 12.5 million HD films simultaneously. That is just terrifying. Anyway, I thought that was really interesting. But as far as VK3KK, great to have him in town. He's on his way back down to see the rest of his family that is here in the US. His sister and his two nephews, they're going to have a great time. I asked him, I said, are you going to go by the sphere in Las Vegas by chance? Because they're doing a once in a lifetime experience there showing the Wizard of Oz. And it has been completely overhauled with all the newest, fanciest, craziest theatrical enhancements that you can possibly imagine. Get out to YouTube and check this out. There's a great, great video that a woman and her daughter shot from inside the theater showing some of the environment itself. Showing some of the 4D effects and some of the other things. It's just amazing. Everybody's just going ooh and ahh. Anyway, yeah, it's pretty neat. So that's about it. I'll be there at the educational meeting tomorrow. I'm also hosting the new net for Kirk, AT7YM while he's still out of town. He'll be back I think in about another week or so. So you'll hear him on Saturdays again. But Rebecca, thank you so much. You're doing great. Nice to hear you. Nice to hear Dean and everyone else. Have a good evening. So, Sean, just stand by a second. So, if everybody will please hold. I want to go to VK3KK Portable in Las Vegas for his report now. So, Sean, please come back. Let's go ahead and have your report. Nice to hear from you today. How are things?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-29T21:51:16+00:00","id":71874,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":71873,"text":" Well, thanks there, Paul. We are glad that it's hopefully resolved for now as well. Twice in one week was a little bit more than I could handle, especially last night. It was a very long day yesterday and I was like, it's 6.30. It was like, oh no. So thank goodness for family members who come out in the pouring rain way after their hours are over to help you out because man, yeah, I was, whew, I was, yeah, last night was tough. And yeah, I totally know what you mean about DVDs. There we have the plug-in USB disk drives at work, whatever that thing is called. It's not coming to me. And funny you say that because I, about old movies, sorry, let me finish that sentence. Funny you say that about old movies because I am planning on showing, I think the title is It's a Great Pumpkin by Charlie Brown to my students on Friday for Halloween. We don't call it Halloween, we call it harvest. But I went to order the DVD, Paul, and I ran into the same thing because it's so old. I had a hard time finding the DVD and I was like, what? This is a classic. So I know what you mean there, Paul. If you could rent them, you would, but some places like I think you can only stream it on like Apple TV and something else. And I'm like, well, that's not going to work. It works. So I'm right there with you, Paul, but glad to hear you bought some DVDs. I know lots of people ditched their DVDs when streaming came out, but Brooks and I still have a healthy collection of DVDs. So glad to hear we're not the only ones, oh, and Blu-rays, yes, both. And in some cases, yes, coffee's at each. So glad to hear we're not the only ones out there that still have DVDs hanging out in our homes. You take care, say hello to Moxie, Forrest, Paul, and we'll talk to you again soon. Okay, it is 9 49 p.m. at K9 MLR Megan, and now we're going to go talk to Sean, VK3KK. This is John Kilo 9. Juliet Echo Bravo up here on Cloudy, Camano, Iowa. Well, hi to Peter there in Santa Cruz. My sister got her degree in, what is it, marine biology, I think, from UC Santa Cruz. So go fighting banana slugs. Yay. Let's see, Jack, you were talking about the extension for Windows 10. I also was able to acquire that for my Windows 10 computer here. I'm not able to upgrade it to 11 because there's some problem with the boot disk. It's like the only thing that's preventing it from upgrading. But there's some security thing with the boot disk, like I can't boot off of this SSD drive without changing the BIOS settings to make it secure. And then when it's secure, it doesn't recognize the SSD drive or something like that anyway. So I'm kind of stuck with that one. So I was fortunate that Microsoft offered me that same thing. It's a 12-month extension. There was no charge, but you might have to be logged in with a Microsoft account on your machine. Maybe that might be the thing. I'm not positive. Anyway, there you go. I hear a rumor, now this is through the rumor mill here, that Wednesday may or may not be VK3KK day. So I'm looking to find out more information on the events and festivities therein. And I was just wondering if you could shed some light on that for us. Back to net control, K9JEB."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-11-03T12:37:09+00:00","id":74717,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":74716,"text":" Oh, that was Sydney too. Okay, well you know what? Now if you would like a first contact award, she can file for one for you. The form is online, even though the FCC is currently not in attendance at their office, you can still do a first contact award without that, as long as she can do it online. And if you would like to have that done, she can certainly get the form, even though they're offline. I think that form is still available. If not, let me know and I could send that to her. But anyway, yeah, we like doing first contact awards if you know the time and taking all that stuff. So anyway, all right, well take care. It would be great to meet you. Yes, Wednesday, noon, and net transmitted live from the park with our friend from Sean, Ballarat, Australia, VK3KK. All right, you have a great afternoon and you can always come back for a recheck if you want to. Next time I call for new stations and or rechecks, etc. So great to meet you, Claire. All right, let's continue on. Let's go see what Mike's up to. K1MD are. Hi, Mike. Good morning, everybody. You know, I think this is just kind of an off-the-wall comment here, but I think truck drivers not only need to know English, but they also had to pass kindergarten. It'd be a good idea because this truck ahead of me cannot stay between the lines. He is constantly driving on the shoulder. There's no reason for that. This road is going to go to the exit that he's going to need to take. And I know that because container trucks take this exit all the time. Got to love commuting anyway. And it looks like on the other side of the freeway, there is a whole bunch of red flashy lights and it don't look like there's anything but one lane, maybe two getting by. That ain't good. So if you're in the area of the West Seattle Bridge heading south, expect to stay there for a good long while. Nothing new on the critter side of things. The kittens are still all, I still got eight of them, they're still causing havoc and confusion amongst our house. And you know, I'm going to have to second the Linux thing. I've been using, I have a computer that will not upgrade to Windows 10 and it doesn't have that special chip that Microsoft demands that you have. Thanks for that Microsoft. So I just switched over to Mint Linux. And for those of you out there that are not computer gurus, two flavors of Linux that I'd recommend for those Windows users that just want to come in and have a good time with the computer and not have too much trouble, I would highly recommend going with either Mint Linux or Ubuntu. They're really easy to use. They are very similar in their setup to Windows and they do run Windows applications. It's not native but you install an app and then that app will run Windows applications. Plus everything you can do on Windows you can do on Linux for free. You don't have to buy Office, you don't have to pay for Office 365. You can get something else that does the job just as good if not better and it's free. Microsoft does not want you to know that. They just want to take all your money. Anyway, I'm off the freeway now so there's no more traffic and I'm going to bring this back to the net because that's all I got today. K1 MDR. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. Alright Mike, thank you for dropping by. You drive safe out there. Hey, I do have a couple of things though. So Mike I think is down to seven or eight kittens. He is starting to give them away so if you're interested in a nice, fluffy, gorgeous little kitten, you know, just contact Mike and I think his email is correct and on his QRZ page. I want to look at that now. We just go out to K1 MDR and inquire if you're interested in getting a fluffy kitten. Now, back to the truck though that you saw that had the issues driving outside the lines and off into the side of the road. Could it be that the driver is having a mechanical issue? Did he slow down as well? Could it be that there's some distress in the cab? What's your take on that Mike? Back to you K1 MDR because I have seen that where you think, okay, what is this guy doing? What's this woman doing? But then it turns out there's some issue with the truck, mechanical, electrical, you know, you just don't know. So could it be that that is what's happening? No, I'm not thinking so. This guy has been following him for a while. Sometimes I pass him, sometimes he passes me. His truck seems to be able to track on the road properly and if it can't, it has no business being on the road. I just honestly think this guy either doesn't know what he's doing or doesn't know where he's at and it could be both. He does have his hitching lights on which are really bright and right in your eyes when you get up next to him. So he hasn't turned those off and he's just pulling a container to the port and he likes moving off to the right. He wants to get into the merging lane where he has no business in the merging lane. He wants to also ride on the shoulder where he has no business riding on the shoulder. I have a feeling the guy just doesn't know what's going on. He's probably distracted in the cab which is highly dangerous when you're pulling a truck that's four to five times larger than everything else on the road. Anyway, back to the net. K1MDR."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-11-03T21:17:40+00:00","id":74833,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":74832,"text":" Sorry, Joan, I should have double checked before I started. I'll do my report in short form. Sam to hear about Charlie, KC2STO. He was a regular on my net and he will be missed with our crew. So he was a regular on my net, so he will be missed. I had a great day, Joan. Now you know that I am in Seattle because I'm coming through on RF. I caught up with Cammie and Robert here today in person. We had dinner together and a wonderful afternoon together, so that was a great time with Cammie and Robert. That was awesome. Awesome day here today. Looking forward to hosting or co-hosting the new net with Jack on Wednesday. I'm wondering if you're able to make it, Joan, on the day. I'll leave it there if I'm noisy. And I wish I had more time to find more information about Eric and Charlie, but I only was made aware of them just about an hour ago. So yes, Charlie is gone forever and Eric is gone forever as well. And I need to start playing my harp more. And you're making me... My harp isn't even in tune. Neither of my harps. Neither of my harps are in tune. But I have no excuse for keeping the wound in my lizards, not keeping it tuned up. Except I need to find a piece of my tuner, my tuning wrench. It's got a built-in tuner on it from Dusty Strings. But I'm missing the battery case cover. It's a cheap excuse, isn't it? Anyway, thank you, Ann. And now, unbelievably, VK3 Kilo Kilo isn't on the other side of the planet. He's right here in downtown Seattle. And he's going to help run one of our nets from Maple Leaf Park on Wednesday. So Sean, VK3KK. This is KX2CW asking for you."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-11-03T21:20:09+00:00","id":74834,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":74833,"text":" Well, welcome to yesterday. How does it feel to be living in yesterday now? Yes, I'm looking, I've got one of my clocks to Sydney time and it's 1617 in Sydney, sunny afternoon but here you are on the west coast of North America having the early night instead. Yes, Sean, I was going to go to a food bank on Wednesday but I've canned that so I can get to the Maple Leaf Park, a reservoir park and meet you in person finally. So yes, my plan is to get there. I'm going to hop my bike to the light rail, take the light rail to up there in that neighborhood and then do the last mile or two to get to the park and that will be fun. So folks, that's Sean, VK3KK who is going to be co-hosting the Wednesday NUNET and I will elaborate on this announcement but it's going to be at Maple Leaf Reservoir Park on 82nd Street I believe. It's on the prsrg.org webpage by the way, I'm going to take a quick look and oh, it's not there, it's not there yet. Maybe reload again, I've already reloaded. Nope, it's still not there so probably at the PSRG discussion group page on Facebook but I will read the entire announcement when we get to the announcement. So anyway, let's move on to Jim, K7PDZ, Pretty Darn Zippy. Jim, go ahead. Jim, I remember when we co-hosted, you were running in that one time when I was after a dinner and I was your log keeper. Go ahead Jim."}]}
