All right, George, I don't think we did the intro for you, so you got a lot of questions to answer. How was your weekend? What's going on in your world this week? And meatloaf, do you like it? Do you hate it? Do you make it? And if so, how? Take it away, KV0MAI. And the TV's rolling out. Yeah, I was kind of wondering what happened. And I checked in at the end of the round. And I thought you'd call upon me and get into here. Started getting paranoid, thinking, well, maybe I need to change my call sign or my name to disguise my voice. You were not still here. Just kidding. Just kidding. I'm doing well. Everything is fine. Good weekend. Good weekend. And I restored the wall. All-star node 62. Something like that. But we did it. We switched all the rails. All of our decking. Skating it. And then we're two years later. Two years later? Yeah. Yeah, I think the wood, you know, why I killed that darn thing. The wood was absolutely terrible because wood was flying out the door left and right because everybody was doing projects at the house during COVID. And so the straight-up wood that I got was, man, it was still soaking. And they hadn't cured it properly. So when I put it all together, I ran into some trouble. So after a couple of years, I had to resurface the deck, which turned out really nice. Super, in a baby's blood. Can I reset? Yeah, well, I killed all my steel on that porch a lot. And I really like that porch. And I think that's the one that I really admire the most. I do all kinds of trimming and gravel. I put in new floors in the house and stuff like that. And that's really gotten me. And let me see. Meedle-o? Um, well, you know, I never really had meedle-o. I remember maybe my mother making meedle-o when I was really, really young. But I think it was only once. My wife doesn't make meedle-o. I never ordered meedle-o from the restaurant. So you can go ahead with a video. I don't know how to make meedle-o. It's hand-earned, you know? You can do anything with hand-earned, I guess. One more thing. If I was going to make it, it would most definitely have to have dark cheddar cheese in it, jalapenos, some kind of Montana spice and some sort of one. If I was going to give it a try. You know, I'm 62 years old. I think I've had it once when I was like five. So I don't think I really missed out, to be honest with you. And the last thing is, as I'm waiting to get to talk to you, I'm following this truck driver. And he veered off the road onto the side and hit a guardrail. Boom. The dandlestay I ever saw. It was one of them guardrails that had, instead of metal going all the way down, they had metal wires going through, three wires. And that thing flew out there. There's a wire all over the place. That was kind of interesting, kind of exciting. He looked like he was OK. He got out of the vehicle and I was going to fly. I think he maybe fell asleep at the wheel or something. Anyways, back in that control. AB0MAI. AB0MAI. It meet once in your life. That accident, that sounds terrifying. And that can happen, you know, you can nod off. And all of a sudden, you're shooting across the lanes. That's too bad. Sorry about not picking you up right away. That's one of the challenges I face. One of the challenges I've got here is keeping the list straight. Especially when people are commenting over and over. I get distracted and I skip names and stuff like that, which is really bad. I don't mean it. Don't take it personally. I'm very sorry. All right. Let's see. Well, we'll do one more call for check-ins. It's 927. And then we'll get on to the next question, which is about common sense. And your feelings about common sense. So if you'd like to get an answer to that question or any other question at all, join us here on the Monday, August 4th version of the Cal-Bunga Net. And we are looking forward to hearing your call signs. So draw right out there. VE3SBX, Victor Ecto 3, Foxtrot Bravo X-Ray. Hey, Greg. I'm going to have you call with me on a suicide hotline once. But I made it through. So don't you worry. She didn't offend me at all. No, it doesn't. That's very well. OK. Thanks. Bye-bye. Thanks. Break back in anytime you'd like. You know you're one of the regulars. And so, have a good day. And yup, like I told you, and now I'll tell the others, I'm on my usual heavy duty fuzz. I took a couple of pills. I'm flying off the walls. No, I'm lying. It's kind of a, it's sort of like a mediocre buzz. It's not super, super intense, but it'll hold me through this net. And then shortly after that net, well this net, I have to do the scars net as well. So just kind of put a little plug in for them. Come and join me. Because it'll be a real quick one, because it's a lot faster and shorter than this here. I usually put a marker on the halfway point. Usually by then. But check that out. That'll be noon Eastern. So depending on who's talking, how we're talking, it can be anything from a few minutes to seven or eight hours. No, I'm joking. Peep it out. Also, What was it? Oh! Finally, the mail is starting to flow a little bit better than like even last week when I was talking to you, right? Because I was saying that it was still kind of questionable. So it's doing a lot better. I never really liked this guy's music, but D'Angelo passed away. You know, the one that sings Brown Sugar. And Debbie, Marcia's sister, keeps telling me that the song isn't about a woman. Well, what the hell isn't it about then? So she said, no, that's not what it's about. Okay, well then I don't know. I asked, I don't even like that kind of R&B. But I asked, and I have no idea. I mean, we lost some greats in the past throughout the summer. We lost Howie T, and sort of before that we lost Clark Kent, and then before that, Mr. C from Hot 97. And in the summer, like when August passed, while going into September, it was the one year anniversary of the past of Mr. School. So, real important hype man. Y'all remember old records, he's definitely a marker. And somebody missed. Oh, that's screaming. Okay, all right. So, let's move on, and we'll take it over to Ben. He's staying today. So, what's going on Ben? I talk to this guy a lot through the day, through the evening. VE3SBX, good morning Kev, Brian, everybody else. Happy to hear Brian's woken up without a migraine. Congratulations to a pain-free day. George, very, very happy to hear that it went well with your wife. Wish her a speedy recovery. Today is a take it easy day for me. I got to pop out and do some grocery shopping. I was out, not too late last night for work, but my last call was a palliative set up, so it was a little depressing, out in the rain. I'm trying to get the family a little calmed down with the wife coming home. Today's going to be a pretty mellow day for me. Just go out and do some food shopping, putter around in the house, get some things cleaned up and laundry done. No other plans yet for the weekend. I spend a lot of time on here. And for now, I'm going to pass it back to you Kev. I'm still waking up. I've been awake for like a half an hour. I'm just getting into coffee number one. So, I'll be here. VE3SBX. Hey, no problem. Yesterday, when I was kind of like half asleep, half awake, around six in the evening my time, I got an interesting text. It was basically a reminder through one of the channels I subscribed to, The Star Report. One of the guys was telling me that he's back because there's those that might not know. I'll just drop some signs real fast. You didn't think that. You thought I was going to say something else. I know you recognize the time. The time you talked to me. You thought I was going to say that. No. I was going to see if I could trip you out. But nope. I'm on a totally different tip. I'm not talking about that test. I'm talking about this test. Where Star had... He had rushed himself to the hospital in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago because he had a bad bout of pneumonia, although he didn't know it yet. He was feeling bad and they told him. They stuck him in ICU for a while and he came back. Now he's back in effect. But there was a while he was off air and some people had spread some rumors that he had died. Luckily, I forgot who it was. It might have been Vlad. They're tight. I'm trying to think of people he hasn't burnt bridges with. I guess Vlad is one of them that is still cool with him. He had basically said that nope. Star is very much alive. I talked to him a few hours ago in the hospital. He did a zoom call. Yeah, and then I did check the channel and I saw some new updates. There wasn't anything I was interested in. I kind of wanted to hear what he might say about Diddy. Because he was always keeping up to what was going on with that. I missed his old comments about it. He was looking at the time he might get. He was always about guys, I need to tell you. But Diddy is fooled. My favorite was when he kind of said that prior to the R. Kelly conviction. Guys, I need to tell you. This guy doesn't have any connections of any sort. He's fooled. I kind of missed that. I kind of figured if I heard him on that tip, then I'd at least know he's well. But who knows. I guess we'll figure that out. Alright, well I'm at the bottom of the list except one more name and that is Bill. Over to you Bill. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven. Thank you. You had me going there for a second. You said you were at the bottom of the list. I'm like what? What happened to me? What happened to me? Oh man. So after the night yesterday I got my wife. She picked me up and we went to the house, took everything over. Well we stopped silent and go. Picked up something to eat. Got over to the house, put all my stuff away, got changed, and then went over to the job site that my son-in-law is working on and picked up the truck and went out and I was able to get two loads taken care of for him. But he's still got more. So I'll probably do another two loads on Monday. I got a dentist appointment for cleaning on Monday. But after that I might grab the truck and grab two more loads of block and drive them over to the job site for him. So we did that. Got back here, had dinner, and I mean I went to bed about 7.30. I was just so tired. But I tried to sleep until 4.30 and didn't quite work out. About 3.45 I was up, passing and turning, probably about 4.15. I got out of bed, so that's it. No more. And here I am. I did do laundry last night. I got to fold it. But the counter's got all my computer stuff on there right now because I'm doing updates on that. I had to do it on the counter because the desk is covered with laundry. We should work on a trade. But today I'm going to drive over to my mom's house. But because I went to bed so early last night, I didn't get all the stuff that I need and instructions from my wife because my daughter lives out in that area. And so I'll be stopping by her place and dropping off a bunch of stuff that my wife got for her. And I might even go over to my granddaughter's house and drop off her printer. And that'll free up some space here in the house. But it got warm. I mean, it wasn't like it was a couple weeks ago where it got up to 100. It only got up to about 82, 83. But my son-in-law's truck doesn't have any AC in it. So with the window down, it was nice and cool. We'll see if I can grab one."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-16T04:32:21+00:00","id":61526,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":61525,"text":" VE3SBX, good morning Daryl, Peter, Brian. I was before the net talking to George and Brian. So I filled in their names. And so, let's take an early list. Alright, I'll drag my feet a little bit so people have time to get going. And we'll do a sort of intro round and then I'll get us into the questions. I've got questions for days. This is Kevin, VA3KKY filling in for Kevin from Maine. So you're trading in a Kevin for Kevin. K1MI? K1M? Something like that? Kevin from Maine. And still sending condolences to him and his mother. Yeah, I know what that's all about. Yeah, losing people sucks. So, get it together and we'll be here taking care of business. So no worries on that. Alright, so just pass on the greetings then. We will move on. So we've been talking about, you know, what do you know about your state's history? And we went through the list and we learned a lot of really cool stuff. So, Peter has left and now we're moving to Bentley. He's going to be our number one guy on the list. And so George made me get to thinking. And we can continue talking about, you know, different historic things that happen in our state. I probably will because that's where my focus is. But George got me thinking. Do you all have any weird laws that you know of about your area or your state? Texas has a lot. George is missing the blue laws. So for people who are not familiar with blue laws, Texas has blue laws. We don't sell alcohol on Sundays. We don't sell alcohol on holidays. It's actually pretty lax today compared to what it used to be. If you forgot to pick up your beer for that Dallas Cowboy football game that starts at noon on a Sunday, you're out of luck. You can buy it on Sunday afternoon but not before noon. Let's see, what are some other weird blue laws or just laws? Oh, okay, Weatherford. Weatherford is a town next to us. It's a 15-minute drive to the east. And they actually have a law on the books that they continue to use to this day that if you don't call in advance or notify them in advance that you're driving a motor vehicle through their town, they can stop you. They use it. They use it whenever they think there's trafficking going on, drug, human or whatever. They use that law. And in fact, it was challenged not too long ago and it was upheld. So there's a weird law. You know, that's a law that gives them the ability to basically stop anybody. I mean, I don't agree with the law but it's a weird law. I'm trying to do this off the top of my head because I'm walking around my living room. What other weird laws do we have? I'll think of it and come back on some of the next overs. Texas has a lot of weird laws and I just can't think of them off the top of my head. So I'll do a little research. So let's do that. So we'll continue on talking about our state. You can talk about the history but I want to know about some of the weird laws or the weird idiosyncrasies that make your state different. So with that, let's start back up at the top of our list and that's going to be Mr. Bentley, VE3-SBX. I'm going to pass it back to you. This is VE3-SBX. I don't know of any special laws but our Premier just did pass a law, I guess, banning photo radar in Ontario. So a lot of little towns or little cities had them up around schools and are here and there and he has banned them. They have to pull them down saying that they were a cash grab. So we'll see what happens over that one. I did read something kind of interesting this morning about some US states, can't remember which ones off the top of my head, banning VPNs. So it's going to be harder to download those ISOs everybody likes so much. Back to you, Josh. This is repeater station kilo kilo 7, November Quebec November. Alright, KJ5-ILQ returning. I'll have to look into that. I haven't heard that states are trying to ban VPNs. I think they're going to have a hard time with that one. I mean that's kind of the whole purpose of VPNs. I mean, shoot, you can, how are they going to know if you host a VPN on your own Raspberry Pi on your own network? They won't know that. But the states not. That's weird. I'll have to look into that. I'll have to dig into that one. But we will, we will. Moving down to gray KC2-PKG. Again, the state history is awesome. But weirdness, audio syncosies, weird things that apply to your state or a place that you've been at. It doesn't have to be a state. If you know of any other place that has weird stuff, let's talk about it. KJ5-ILQ, sending it to you, Mr. Gray."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-23T15:15:22+00:00","id":90703,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":90702,"text":"Victor echo three foxtrot Bravo x-ray VE3 SBX Bend in and out just listening"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-22T11:23:38+00:00","id":85064,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":85063,"text":"VE3SBX so today a work day for you Kevin, or are you relaxing like the Lucky minority"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-22T21:33:26+00:00","id":87160,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":87159,"text":"VE3SBX good morning George.
