I do the net when it's out in the summer with the Procom net on Thursday nights at eight and Sundays at eight. And then I enjoy this net that comes on at one o'clock there, the Transcannon net. And I'm lucky to be able to do net control for those three. Outside of that, I'm in the field somewhere, summer, spring, winter, fall. And I don't know what it is, but for me, it seems like I do HF outside. I do not do HF voice inside for some reason, just don't do it. I'll do digital, but not voice. Thanks for being out there. My name is Cam, location Belleville, and I picked up, we had a junk in the trunk sale in June locally here. So, I picked up this GB, I think it's a GB, 7500 antenna, the dual band, 2 meters to a 440 antenna. The amazing thing about it is, it's both on 2 meters and on 440, it does a 1 to 1. And none of the other antennas that I have are quite that good, they all get around that. But there's something about this one antenna, so I've left this antenna as my home antenna sitting on a pipe plate. So, anyway, it shouldn't work but it does, it's very very good, it's a very good radiation pattern, etc. So, no outdoor antennas here, but anyhow. So, yeah, antennas I think you'll find are one of the amazing things that often shouldn't work, but sometimes they do and so forth. But anyway, there you go, VE3G VG, back to the control. Thank you so much for that, Cam, VE3G VG in the group, Victor Alpha 3, Echo, Whiskey, Victor, we're turning. I picked up the pipe plate, I think that's it. When I go to my next photo activation, parked on the air or any kind of outdoor activation, I think I'm going to bring me one of those big military pans, you know, the big metal military pans that they used to have. I know we had them in the States, the US stamped on them. But I think I'm just going to start bringing those out. They seem to do miracles, right? I might just sit in one of those pipe plates by the wife, you know, so we can get everything going on there correctly. But things aren't working. I'm just going to sit up inside and see if we can get it working. Thank you so much, Cam. Alright, one last call from VE3G, the East inclusion North. We appreciate you all being out there for sure, and for those of you that are just following along in the background, thank you for doing that, and please come back out next week to get your name in the logs again. So this week's topic, I had a couple, but we just finished attending the Carp Ham Fest, yesterday, wonderful time, it's like a family reunion. I bought something this time, not just food, hi hi, so because of the four ham fests I went to, I judged their ham fests on the quality of the food, just to let everybody know. On the way home though, on the way home, trekking from Ottawa to Cornwall, there was a young fellow came on the air who had been at the ham fest, and it just warmed my heart hearing the youth on the air there, and they also had a booth for the jamboree on the air with the scouts, and I got to participate in that last year. So my question of the week is, do you have any stories about talking to youth for the first time, or getting youth involved, or anything youth related that has warmed your heart, and you have a good story to tell? So anything about youth on the air that you wanted to talk about today, that'll be our topic of the day. So we're gonna start with the Atlantic and the UK first. So again, I'm Ernest Victor Alpha 3 Echo Whiskey Victor from St. Andrews West, Ontario here. I'll be doing the next today and the topic of the day. So that's a good one, topic of the day. Well, I guess this will be the topic of the day. I've been looking at radios and antennas because I sure want one, but the money is not there. So I guess that's going to be the topic of the day. And I've looked around my house and seen what I can sell and right now I'm almost going to sell my car to get another radio and another antenna. I've been looking for a HEX beam antenna and another radio that will do digital. So that's going to be our topic of the week. Are you ready to sell houses, homes, and get you another radio or another antenna? That's the topic of the day. All right, let's do short time check-ins. Yeah, I'm glad you actually mentioned that. I had, so I like to, again, thank you for that, because I didn't even think about getting anything used. I really didn't. What I was looking for, I have the 991, and I really got attached to the digital phones, right, on that the radio offers. So I'm doing a little bit of something, especially in worldwide for fauna, you need 44, not always the same time, I'm aware, but sometimes I can't go to the same place twice. So I like to get all the contacts when I'm there. So the goal is 50 or bust. And there's a lot of times that FT8, FT4 saved me. I had been out two hours, you know, and it's getting late, I got to get home, and I cranked up the old FT8, FT4, and I got through it. So that's why I was hoping to just find something that I could just do in the shack. I actually don't use my HF in the shack unless I'm using Fusion, and that's for our Monday night net. So yeah, so I would prefer to keep the 991 out and about, and just a regular, just a HF rig in the shack for the odd thing. So yeah, thank you for that. I'm gonna look into that, getting into the news market. Also, if anyone else has something out here, look at me on TRZ, Victor Alpha 3, Echo Whiskey Victor. By the way, I do have a YouTube channel, over 600 subscribers right now, and you can see me doing my radio adventures there. My email is there too, so if you guys have some radios out there or some beam antennas that are collecting dust, send me an email and see if we can get something done. All right, we are at the bottom of the list here. So we've looked for a station in the Atlantic, UK, VE3 in the east, VE4 in the west, and now we're taking calls from the states. Anyone in those four places that has just joined us and want to check in, please come down."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-12T11:07:32+00:00","id":58960,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":58959,"text":" Good day to you there.
