"text": " Well thank you so much Mark. Hey listen, I sense you've got some kind of really kind of headquarters there of lots of different gadgets and gizmos going on there, connections left, right, center, up and down and checking into all the various places all at the same time. That must be so confusing. You know Mark, I often hear you on the various nets that I go on to. And by the way, I just do one at a time. But yeah, when I go on to these nets often I hear you checking as well. So thanks for all you do. I mean really it's amateur radio, the hobby and everything else that only exists as long as people keep on pressing the PTT and get their voices out there and they get onto the networks, onto the air, out there, do whatever and keep things going. If things go quiet, hey listen, it doesn't sound too good for the future of the hobby. So good stuff. Thank you so much Mark. You take care. Have a wonderful weekend. And I'm glad we managed to pick you back up there after we lost you earlier. And yes, you were on the list just after Dennis. So there was Declan, then Dennis and then yourself. So yeah, you just pick in and say hello as we were calling you. So no problem at all. I should also say we're now saying that the name is Scott out there in Memphis, Tennessee. Scott is going to be checked in as well. Thank you Scott. We'll add you to the list. In the meantime we'll say 73 to our friend Mark out there in Ohio. That's KCAFTV. Let's go down and see where we are. We spoke to Hollis and KN4EWT was in and out. So next up is our friend Victor Echo 3X from Delta. Bravo. That is of course Doug out there in Kitchener on TV. Oh Doug, welcome sir. Happy Friday. And thanks for all you do as one of our admins on the IRN. Really do appreciate all your support and help. Anyway, over to you Doug. And how are you sir? The mic is yours. Hi, Mike. Zero, uniform, uniform, bravo. Here is Victor Echo 3X from Delta. Bravo. My pleasure Graham. Not a problem at all. I enjoy doing it. And yes, on the IRN newsletter I heard your earlier comments. It would be great to get more personal stories folks. It doesn't have to be perfect. Even dictate it and send us a file with your dictated notes in Google. Don't even correct it. We can turn it into perfect English and make you sound like Shakespeare. So don't worry about being a perfect writer. Just tell us your stories and we can add them. Because there are many interesting people, places, you know, radio adventures, travel, geography, pet stories, local history. I like geography so tell us about that stuff too. And we can turn it into something for the newsletter. The weather here is we had a heavy snowfall last week and it's now melted. So I went outside yesterday and cleaned up the last of the leaves. Pretty much the last. There's still a few hanging on to the maple tree in the front but most of it is gone now. In other things I've been, I'll just go up for a second."

"text": " Oh, I'm fine. I just missed the net because of this crazy changing of time we have here. We've just gone to daylight saving time going back to GMT instead of British summertime and guess what? I got it round the wrong way and I missed the net. I just caught the tail end there and I'm grateful to the guy that called you back in again so I could call in and say hello. I try to, it's my Sunday evening listening and that's one of my main radio activities although I do like to do a bit of VHF in the winter and a bit of construction but that's round about it. So that's it from me then. Thanks very much for running the net. G8FMT listening. Roger, Roger and yes, we're glad to have you out there. Yeah, I was a little bit premature of me but I'm glad he called me back in too. Usually the two folks there, Scott and Adrian, they're usually monitoring the system there and when we have those extra folks that wish to be a ham but they just need to go study so they can do it the right way. It was throwing me off today so I'm glad that you guys are in there. Before you go though, my question of the day was about contesting and the time of year that you like to be on the radio. Now you did say you do a lot of UHF, VHF but do you do it more in the wintertime or the summertime? I met a lot of people this past year that say they do most of the radio in the wintertime. Are you the same? Over."
