Good evening, Larry and Rebecca, and you know, I don't stay up this late very often, but when I heard you and Rebecca were doing the net this evening, I had to do it. And yes, any time I hear antennae, oh yeah, my ears perk right up, that's for sure. Station Manager Polo got spoiled rotten today. I got him out two times before lunch, two times later on in the afternoon, And I have a potato of dumplings, that's good, and a polo got a little taste, that's kind of what happened here. Oh, and then I had a nice long chat with my son who is also a ham in Oklahoma. So that kind of sums up my day, Louie. Thank you very much. Back to you. This is Reputation Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. All Star Notes 1532, located in Shelton, Washington. My ears went up when you mentioned, when you added Brussels sprouts to the list because I love making brussels sprouts and hereís an idea, Iím just going to kick it out there because what do we do on this thing, we exchange information, right? So I like taking a, I steam a bunch of brussels sprouts and put them in the bottom of like a 9x13 pan, coat the top completely with cranberry sauce, if you make it special, pour over the tops and then sprinkle it with parmesan cheese and pretty much itís all cooked and ready to eat when you put it in the oven but I give it about a half an hour 40 minutes to melt the cheese and get the whole thing really hot and I'll tell you what I love it a lot anyway that's what I am just I'm a fool for brussels sprouts and uh let me rekey here and then I'm going to invite Rebecca back in a moment.
Be very mindful about putting a radio inside a drawer because cooling is a huge issue and if it's enclosed just putting a fan on it probably won't cut the cheese. Cut the cheese. Probably won't work. So you definitely want to think about cooling when it comes to radios man because especially if you're going to be listening to something like cowabunga or something well you're only receiving I suppose when you're listening but for transmitting purposes and things radios get very hot when you're transmitting especially mobile ones and they usually have a big heat sink on the back and usually that's not even good enough you normally have to stick like a processor fan or something that's what I typically use like those little fans got four screws and you just put the screws in between the fins on the heat sink and it holds the fan in place. Now when you say repeater do you mean like a high power simplex node or do you mean like an actual repeater like that needs two frequencies and an offset and a tone and a duplexer and all that kind of stuff or do you mean just like a simplex hotspot?
No it isn't. It's just a private, it's on private land actually but I know the owner and so he doesn't mind that I walk the dog on it. But it's just a trail he made that he cut his own firewood on and that kind of thing. We've got a couple of of the rails, the trails, things nearby. One of them is about an hour and a half away. We actually ride our ATV on it. We've done it a couple of times and it's 87 miles long and it's an old rail bed and it's it's really fun. We have to trailer the ATV to a certain point and then we ride to one end of it and spend the night in the hotel and then we ride the next day back. It's a nice fall trip but there's another shorter one kind of in the other direction that we'd like to try that would be a nice day trip without getting involved with overnight. So those are pleasant places to ride for sure. Back to you Chad, KC1BQS."
