"text": "Yeah, this site has some neat little bugs. They're little hollows that can be geodes, or they can be jasper-filled or agate-filled, and all kinds of neat stuff up in this new site. So yeah, we're going to go check it out while we can. They closed the road to it starting the 1st of December for wildlife preservation. So we're going to go check that out. And so yeah, that's what we're looking for. So I'll give a report maybe next Friday for you and tell you what we found. I'll turn it back. KD7, Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave, the High Desert Pirate Radio."

"text": "You know, that's a good question. And actually, this is going to come a little bit full circle here. So actually, the person that started StudyNet is KJ7SKV Jamie. And him and Seth are good friends. So I'm pretty sure that Seth knows about the StudyNet. But it hasn't been going on since the tiger repeater came off of Tiger Mountain and moved over to Cougar Mountain. But I did hear some news from Jamie that he had planned to start that back up again. But I'm not sure when that is, and I think Devin might be involved with it as well. But yeah, I think more to come on that one. But yeah, we know Seth offline, and so he's tied into that already. But yeah, thanks for asking. K9 BBC."

"text": "Walk us for a while at least in the 2000s. They had something called the old-time radio convention And it was just older cats who were still around. I mean a lot of them are dropping off right like now You'd have to dig even further Like you're lucky to maybe get people alive that are from oldies Right like the bebop era and all that won't wait I said it wrong the doo-wop era right then then then then then then then then then then then that type of stuff and The voice groups you got to find those cats now, right? because they'd have to be live. But what else is I thinking? Oh, well, yeah, they thought futuristic things in sci-fi, they thought more of like mechanical things, which really hasn't changed that much. They didn't think of the nerdy technology type of things. They didn't think about that, right? Because that's where we are. Remember when they used to dream about having a phone and you can see the person you're talking to almost like television like they said could you imagine if I could call you right now and see you that was like a big fantasy in old days now pretty much that's like Zoom Skype right like hey you want to cam up so that does that does exist they do have their phone a vision that does exist like with Skype or or whatever. So they got one part of it. They dreamed one part of it right but I don't know flying cars. Maybe a really good 747 or something. I guess that's your flying car."

You're talking well over my head in regards to Linux. I've never used the operating system. I'm running off to Windows 11 here. Just trying to get familiarized myself with the drop-in part of the Echo Link. I'm not familiar with it. Everything up here is fine. We're right now in the mid-20s, approximately four inches of snow on the ground right now. How's everything about in your Echo Woods here?"

"text": " When I was a kid we had a bad winter once in a, I'm trying to think of the year now, I can't think of it. I think it was maybe 97 we had the ice storm. Yeah, 97 I think was the ice storm. It knocked all the power out to Montreal. We had no power. My cousins who lived in Montreal, they had no power. They had to eat food out of the can. They had to take a can open or open up the food by hand and eat it. No heat, nothing happened. I think in February, it was still winter time but no one had any. They had to burn their furniture. That's how bad it was. Most of these old houses all have fireplaces. They were burning their furniture to keep warm. Hopefully we won't see an ice storm like that again. It was good for the electricians. Boy did line workers have a miracle happen. Double bubbles, everything when the electrical lines fell down."
