Good morning, Bill. I guess you're listening. Hey, change the topic completely. One hundred and eighty degrees difference. My wife asked me to pick up. We don't drink sodas at my household together and usually if we do, like, I drink a grape soda once in a blue moon and the wife, she might have a soda of some sort whenever I do something like that, whether it's a scratch or whatever. Anyhow, the girls, when I say the girls I mean my wife and my daughter, asked me to pick up a new flavor of Coca Cola the other day called Holiday Creamy Vanilla. I will admit as a non-soda drinker, it's tasty. So I just thought I'd mention it if any of y'all are Coca Cola drinkers or Coke drinkers. We call everything Coke down here in Texas by the way. That's a question of the day. Not that we have around that, but what do you call soda? What do you call pop? call Coke or Dr. Pepper or whatever it is, down in Texas everything is called Coke except for Dr. Pepper. You know, you go to a restaurant and say, can you get me Coke? What flavor honey? That's what they ask. You know, do you want root beer, Big Red, you know, something like that. However, in Texas, home of Dr. Pepper, that's a category all of them live in its own. You walk into a place and you say, I'll have a Dr. Pepper. No questions get asked. Kind of like tea, iced tea. You walk into a place down here and say, hey, can I have a cup of tea, a glass of tea? You'll get a big old ice filled super sweet cup of tea. They don't ask if you want sweet or unsweet down here. So there you go. I don't know, that just, I poured me a little bit of my wife's soda just while ago and that's what popped into my ADHD brain, ADHD brain, however you say it. See you next week. We are in the midst of the Leonid. The duration of this shower covers the period of November 14th through 20th. Maximum occurred on November 17th. Actually, there were some reports that it may have occurred earlier this morning as well. Maximum hourly rate typically reaches 10 to 15. But most notable are periods of enhanced activity that occur every 33 years. Directly associated with the periodic return of comet Temple Tuttle. During these exceptional returns, the Leonids have produced rates of up to several thousands of meters per hour. The Leonids are swept meteors, which are best known for leaving a high percentage of persistence. I have not seen any Leonids, but I haven't gotten up before sunrise this week. But if you are up by sunrise, or very late in the evening from midnight on before sunrise, is actually the best time to see meteor showers. Go out and see if you can see them. You might see a few of them in the early evening hours, but there aren't that many of the Leonids streaking through the skies, but they're still there. I'd love to hear observation reports of anybody that has seen some of the Leonids during this particular show. Couple of comments. Comet 2025 A6 Lemmon is passing through the inflation of Ophiuchus low to the west. By the end of the month, it may be too low and lost in the evening twilight glow. Comet Lemmon is visible, was visible with the naked eye from earlier in the month. Right now, it's dimmed to about six or seven magnitudes by month's end, so early in the month. you may still be able to catch it through a telescope. A 3 to 4 inch scope or greater and dark skies will still be needed to see more detail. I did see it about a month ago and it had a nice greenish scope when it was higher up. One that's a little bit dimmer than that, we have comet C2025-R2-Swan is passing through the constellations of the Aquarius and into Pisces by month's end. It's shining around 8 and giving to about 10th magnitude by month's end. Till it's swan is fairly close to Saturn and Neptune, so it shouldn't be too hard to find on..."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-23T20:31:49+00:00","id":91758,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":91757,"text":"Edward I got you with that. Good evening, Ben, and good evening to the rest of Annette. Well, so I spent the morning in the gallery attempting to move art out of the store and into better homes. And this is a little easier done in December. It will be interesting to see how Art Walk went tonight. I was originally going to go to Art Walk and play, but when I discovered that I had to work the morning shift, I'm like, you know what? Being there from 11 to 8 is just too much time to be there. And I don't have a good place to work there, and it's just kind of not nice. So anyway, that's unfortunate. And let's see, I finally think I have mastered the art of getting my voice recorder to go into the folder's worth of files, into the folder of recordings, and being able to navigate through those. So I've been listening to them in order from about October 31st to the latest ones. And it's kind of interesting just to see how this little story develops. The space cadet, who is a 66 year old grandmother who didn't want to join, who is being made, turned from a grandmotherly, upper middle class socialite, very traditional woman. This society has gone backwards in many ways when it comes to those things. I mean she could do other things, she just happens to like that role, traditional woman, mother of five kids and grandmother of one, moseying merrily along in her life, suddenly has to learn to fly starships to cure a disease. Only I could come up with that brain-dead premise, but it's hysterically funny, actually, as she tries to navigate changing social roles slightly. Yes. And so that's basically what I've been doing. And I spent the morning in the gallery playing harp, little Christmas carols, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer action, you know, that kind of thing, winter wonderland, let it snow just to make sure that I jinxed it. Anyway, that's about all for me. This is 733388. Thanks to Ben for running the net, and thanks to all of you Thank you so much for listening to me ramble on. I love you all. This is KA90HV back to Matt. Thank you so much for taking us off with that. All sorts of stuff to dive into there. First of all, yes, it's December 18th and I feel like if there was ever a time to play some holiday music, now is the time. No matter how much of a Scrooge you are, we're finally there. It's not one of those day after Thanksgiving or day of Thanksgiving things where you walk around all the public places are already playing holiday music. So, anyway, enjoy the season and I'm glad you got some art moved. I'm glad you took a little evening off from Art Walk. And it does sound like a lot of fun to be able to, it sounds like you kind of did some organization or figured out how to route files to the right place. And it sounds like you can access that better now and kind of dig through old ideas. And thank you for sharing some of those with us. You called it Brain Day, but that seems like it took a lot of effort in the old noggin to come up with, so I'm not sure if that's a fair label. In any event, Anne, thank you very much for getting us rolling tonight. That is Thursday night every other net that I'm hosting. I'm in a new QTH new location this evening, so hopefully you all can hear me all right. But next on this list we have an I.O. from Cody, and that takes us to Gail, I believe, down in Texas, if I remember correctly. K-0-E-C-K. He's already complaining about the election with fraud and whatever, but it's just the usual. So yeah, I'm going to make this my last. I'm going out to move some leaves. I'm lucky I have woods all around me, so I just blow them back into the woods, and they rejuvenate themselves into the ground, and then the rest of the leaves come down on top of them. So KC1, UDK, back to net. Have a great day. Yeah, it is disgusting though, isn't it? Like, every time he loses in anything, it was rigged against him. Any time he wins, oh, it was the most honest election ever. Like, you can't have it both ways, bud. You're going to win, you're going to lose sometimes. Just because you lose doesn't mean it was rigged. I heard reports yesterday, soon some numbers started coming in, and they were less favorable to his side. I've been working my way through a grab bag I picked up at Vetco Electronics. They only have the $20 bags there now but they're enormous. I thought I had pretty good heft to it when I picked out the bag and I was wrong. They're stuffing, they're stuffing partices full of electronic parts as far as I can tell. But so many good gifts in there. A whole ton of electrolyte capacitors. Not sure what I'm going to use them for yet because I haven't started taking apart old radios. I could get into that I suppose. But I also had a GPS antenna and some I think they're lithium cell batteries. But they have no normal markings, no markings that actually identify them. Voltage checks out. I'm going to very carefully try charging them and see what happens. But yeah just a ton of fun parts in there. Having a blast going through that. Taking a little inventory and trying to keep it organized because if I bring stuff in faster than I can get it into organized drawers and stuff. I will be awash in electronics and won't be able to find anything ever again. But yeah that's pretty much what's going on over here. Nice to hear from everybody.
