Thank you very much for the report. The reason for this is that in the past couple of days I have some strange problems with the 4G cell phone networks as well as internet connections and sometimes my latency is way off charge and it drops me off the net here and there so it's not very funny. WX-ray currently here in central Finland. We have a semi-cloudy wind is calm. It's almost 9pm here and we still have temperature plus 24 degrees Celsius. I'm not going to hold it very long. Thank you for taking me in. It was great to be here. Actually I visited shortly last Sunday but I was then at the callsign Oscar Hotel 6 Charlie X-ray. His callsign is 3 days old and a couple of days ago I just managed to start up the QR set and QR set CQ pages. There's nothing much yet but I'm getting there so this is brand new callsign never used anywhere. So VE5U0 on the net. It was great to be here. Very best 7 trees everybody everywhere from central Finland and I'm going to hand it back to net control and to you VE5U0 Oscar Hotel 2 Lima Papa X-ray 7 trees. Very good Yuka Oscar Hotel 2 Lima Papa X-ray from Victor Echo 5 uniform Oscar. By the way Yuka my name is Dave Delta Alpha Victor Echo. Many call me Steve as well. When I say my name not phonetically it does sound like Steve often so very good and thank you for joining us from central Finland and I'll just comment that there's very little or no noticeable jitter on your signal so probably not much of a latency issue at least not a variable latency issue so no drop packets solid connection here Yuka and thank you so much for joining us from central Finland and just to comment our temperatures are exactly the same and I am just before noon here so obviously it's very warm in central Finland this evening. We are typically quite a bit warmer than this at this time of year here as well but we are continental we're right in the middle of the North American continent so we don't have any in mitigating the large bodies of water for temperature and makes for fairly terrible winters. Thanks Yuka appreciate it and please join us again soon. I'm going to try and I know I'm on western Canada right now and I'm going to have to move elsewhere but I do love it when we have our overseas people join us here as well and there was one other one and I hope I got the call sign right Mike is zero Victor golf please correct me if I got your call sign incorrectly but please join the net now go ahead."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-03T11:08:53+00:00","id":13816,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13815,"text":" I also have Oscar Hotel 2 Lima Papa X-Ray and that was the end of that list. And to answer your question, for the time being I'm using computer Windows 10 Pro based system. Mainly to configure my 4G LTE based radios. Because sadly at the moment here at Kourou there isn't one single repeater existed. So my only gateway to the world is the cello gateways which I'm currently using right now coming through ZMR900. To Delta Zero, Papa Echo Yankee, you're on the list. Oscar Hotel to Kilo Papa X-Ray, you're on the list. And up first to Echo Zero, Echo Uniform Mike. Uh, Tom, welcome to the net. Another station from Essex. 2E0, EUM returning. If I drop out my battery's about to go but I can quickly dash over to another radio station. Yeah, the furthest I've got was about 8 years ago and I had my foundation license and at that time you're only allowed 10 watts. And so I was playing on 20 meters and I actually got a contact in New Zealand. That was 20 with 10 watts. And that's the furthest I've done. And that was just with a 4 to 9 with a long wire. So yeah, that's my claim to fame as it were. Back to net control from 2E0, EUM. Thanks for that Tom. Another great one. Again, I haven't reached there on 10 meters yet. I have worked New Zealand on 12 meters though. But anyway, another great contact. Thanks for that. And as a foundation level, I'm sure that was probably a thrill at the time. Oscar Hotel 2, Kilo Papa X-Ray, welcome to the net. Victor, Code 3, Romeo Viski, Juliette and the net. Oscar Hotel 2, Lima Papa X-Ray. Little correction for the call sign. Oscar Hotel 2, Lima Papa X-Ray. Operator here is Jukkam, Juliette uniform, Kilo Kilo Alpha. And my QGH is Keouru, central Finland. And I think my furthest gear must be on a HF 10 meter band SSB from Helsinki, Finland to Auckland, New Zealand. If I remember correctly, it was 17,253 kilometers. Back to you Chris. Nice to meet you by the way. Yeah, nice to meet you Juka. I hope I'm saying that right. So looking up here it says Juka, the Finnish guy. That's what comes up on QRZ. Thank you for joining us. Yeah, I'd say 17,000 is very far. Thanks for that. And next on the list to Delta Zero, Papa Echo Yankee, another UK station. Thanks for joining us. What's the furthest you've reached in the hobby? 2D0PY returning. The name here is Gavin. I've been trying to think. So SSB from the Isle of Man where I am. I got South Africa once. And a very big exchange into Thailand over SSB Vois. I don't know if we count FT8, but FT8 I can get pretty much anywhere in the world from where I am. Just on 100 watt which is the maximum my rig can go to. It's a 7300. But then that's kind of like shooting fish in a barrel I guess. Really. So yeah, I think I'll have to say South Africa and I'll say very brief voice into Thailand. And I've got QSL cards for both of those as well which is quite neat. Back to net control from 2D0PY. Thanks Gavin. Thanks for joining us. And yep, FT8. You're the first to mention FT8 but it seems to be the most popular mode on HF these days. And yeah, the weak signal mode certainly, the digital mode certainly helped make it easier. Thanks for joining us. And we're going to move on to Canada going across the country, east to west. Don't worry, we will open it up at the end. So if you're in the US or elsewhere, you can still join us of course. Glad to have you. But let's go to eastern Canada. So the Maritimes, Quebec or Ontario. If you're in that part of Canada and you'd like to join us, please check in. This is the TransCanada net. VE3BZ. And I'm sorry if I'm on the wrong slot, but I could swear that you were calling stations outside the UK. so sorry if I'm on the wrong spot. answer to your question, currently I have only one antenna which is feeding my 4 meter band radio but I'm using a air cell 7 coax cable to feeding it which is a little bit thicker than RG58 but less thicker than RG213 which I was using before. It's a low-loss cable and it's a little bit easier to handle compared to RG213 which is a pretty pretty stiff to handle. And hopefully On our next spring I will expand my Hamshack to cover also 2m and 70cm bands and hopefully also HS band. 2m and 70cm I am planning to use RG213 again which I did back in the days when I have Hamshack in Helsinki, capital city of Finland, and on the AHF probably using RG58.
