Yeah, I just wanted to toss out some information about the Seattle GNU Linux Conference, which is happening this November 7th and 8th at the University of Washington. If you cannot attend in person, it will also be broadcast streamed online. So yeah, free software, open source software, free as in speech, not as in beer. Unfortunately, it would be great if it was free as in beer, but it's free as in speech. I really enjoy these open source conferences, particularly this one being the local one that's just down the street from my house. I don't know if I'm speaking this year actually. I did submit a proposal for a talk, which was the Introduction to Network Programming. But they haven't yet announced what talks they've selected yet. They're a little bit behind. But it's a really great conference. There's free snacks and food and lots of people who want to talk about really just taking control of your life through taking control of the machines that you use every day. And you don't even have to sign up or register. You just come as you are. So you are your identity and your privacy are completely your own. You decide your level of engagement. But yeah, it's a wonderful thing. I love being a part of the community and I would love to bring in new people and I'd love to see all of you there. So that's my spiel. With that, I will send it back to all of you. Take care. Good evening. KK7SKB. Back to Matt. Well, Tri, thank you for making us aware of that. I know you had last year. And I know Rich has talked about it. Well, I know he's talked to you about Linux and I'm pretty sure he's been to that conference. He may come back and tell us a little more. Tri, can you give us a good reliable way to find out more info? Is it a website or something you can direct us to? Yes, of course. Thanks for having me. Yes, it is. This is Schole.org S-E-A-G-L.org. Back to you, KK7SKB. S-E-A-G-L.org. Wonderful. Thank you. I think like a lot of hams who've fooled around with digital voice modes and stuff and Reserae Pi, I've been exposed to Linux. I know the very most basics, but I still don't get it. And just the other day I decided, well, this year I'm going to try and really get it. I set up one of those, what do you call it, NotebookLM, which is that branch of Gemini that lets you have an AI system that only looks at vetted information. And I threw a bunch of Linux links into it and I'm going to use it to be my Linux tutor. So I might actually get there on November 7th and 8th and learn something. Well, thanks so much, Tree, for bringing us up to date on that. Jack, how are you doing this evening? That's some steep stairs. There is about a six foot drop at the bottom, a rope ladder or something the rest of the way down. But anyway, that's really a nice looking house and talk about being on the edge of the ocean. Wow, it looks gorgeous. Anyway, guys, we had irrigation last night and the lawn was really, really dry. It would leave footprints in it when you walked across the grass. So we got a really good irrigation. I'm not sure how that happened, but it did. So we didn't get any water in the garage. We got a lot of debris from cutting the lawn. When it goes around the house, it floats up the grass clippings and pine needles and everything. And then if it's just a little bit too much water, it will overflow the berm right by the edge of the house and put water in the driveway. And it doesn't run anywhere. It still stays on the property and still irrigates, but it's got a little pool in the driveway right now. But I swept up some of the debris while it was still damp, not dusty. And I'll put a couple of big sawdust shovels. Remember up in Aberdeen, we used to shovel sawdust and put it in the burn as well. I still got that shovel. About two or three shovelfuls of wet grass clippings will go right in the garbage can when we get back from the doctor today. So anyway, that's what's happening here. I've been up since like 4.30 checking it all out. Everything got watered great. So back to neck control. T-7, November, Quebec November, all star node 6222. Located in Shelton, Oregon. OK, Joyce and Joe. Joe, maybe you could import some of that snow that some of the places are getting, and you wouldn't have to do all that irrigation stuff. Anyway, I don't think that irrigation, getting into your driveway, is going to make your driveway grow or anything like that. Yeah, always something. Yeah, I know how that is. I got a big pine tree right beside my house here. I get all those pine needles in my gutters and stuff. Even with gutter guards on there, they still go down through there. So that's a mess. Anyway, and all kind of pine cones I got to pick up all the time. So yeah, it's something else. It was a Christmas tree in my house in 1968. And so now it's about probably 65, 70 feet tall sitting there beside the house. Anyway, thanks a lot for the check in, you guys. And always good hearing from you. And we'll talk to you later. OK, we got Rosie up there next. VE4, YYL. Up there in a nice warm place and all those palm trees blowing in the wind and all that stuff."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-11-08T21:02:22+00:00","id":77203,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":77202,"text":" Good evening, it's time for the 9 o'clock PSR social net for Saturday, November 8th.
