You're going to need them most likely for the rest of your life. So that is great news. Alright. Well you know I just really quickly ran over to my closet because I knew I had some safety goggles. Brand new package of chemical splash and impact resistant safety goggles that go over my glasses. And I have sunglasses that go over my glasses. They're not clip on, they actually go over the glasses themselves. And I have tried the safety goggles and it goes over that. So I'm wearing three pairs of eyewear. But if I have anything that's flying around me and it can't be controlled, I tell you it won't hit my eye or eyes. So anyway. Alright, thank you so much Grossy. Let's go to Henry. Where have you been keeping yourself? Under two rocks? N7 JVJ. Hey Henry. KI7RMU N7 JVJ. Hello Jack in the PSRG group. I am back. I never really left. And yeah it was probably three or four rocks. It's just been, I briefly told you before my exit I had a lot of stuff going on. And wife, kids, grandkids, projects, you name it. Everything just kind of exploded. So ham radio took kind of a backseat. So I'm back. Wif's back at work. School teaching. And I'm playing radio again. Let's see the biggest news I have. Let's see I have a hex beam sitting in my driveway. I put that together over the weekend. Well actually last week through over the weekend. And it's a lot bigger than I had envisioned. I knew the specifications but to actually see it in the driveway it's like oh my god. And then the sudden realization of how the heck am I going to get this up on the roof. So yeah I'm at that stage. Multi stages of amateur radio. You know denial and all that. But this stage is like OMG. So I'm there looking into local maybe cherry picker type machinery to help me get it up. Either that or I'm going to hire like three strong bodies. My wife really doesn't want me to be on the roof and I understand that. But I'm not averse to actually doing it. The push comes to shove. And so I'm 67. My brother in law is 70 and he's willing to go up with me too. So maybe there will be two of us sitting at the bottom of the driveway. Hi hi. But other than that good to hear everybody again. And honestly I have not had my two meter radio on very much during the last several several months. But good to hear you Jack and always heartfelt to hear you. So back over to you. Kilo India 7 Romeo Mike uniform. This is N7 JBJ. Back to you sir."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-30T09:20:26+00:00","id":50426,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":50425,"text":" N7 JBJ"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-17T09:35:36+00:00","id":62483,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":62482,"text":" I actually like how the food court items actually vary as well. I've been to the Tijuana Costco in Mexico and they have pulled pork sandwiches in the food court. I'm like, yes, I guess I will. They have a little apple fritter, I forget what it's called, the Mexican word for it, but it's an apple fritter type thing that's heated. You know, it's like an awesome McDonald's apple pie type thing that they make in their food. And if you go to Canada, you can get poutine, which I'm not a fan of, but you can also get chicken fingers in the food court in Canada, but you can't get it down here. So anyway, the things, yeah, yeah, the regional stuff. All right, thanks Michael. Have a good day. Henry, you're up next. Hello and good morning, N7 JBJ. Good morning Q in the group, this is N7 JBJ. Very interesting morning, started at about 0-2-30 in the morning. One of the station managers, at least this is a claim from my wife, decided to actuate the remote control for the TV and was sitting on it, so the volume went all the way up, lights came on and some commercial was on, I don't know, but woke us up and my wife's an early riser anyways, I think she would have been up within the next hour or so. Prepare for her day at work, but me, I am more of a like 6 o'clock in the morning riser. But woke up, we laughed about it, had coffee, and I've been tinkering around ever since. Contemplating a nap, and I'm not a nap person, I do not take naps, so I think that shows my lack of ability of being a genius because geniuses are supposed to nap a lot, I do not. Costco, Costco, very interesting, yeah, and regional differences of them. I've been to the one in Hawaii and they have a lot of different things, and I've been to the one in Japan. Japan is very, they have Kirkland items, but they also have regional items, dried shrimps and dried fish and yadda yadda. But one of the things, oh, and they have sampling of hard liquor. You know how Costco has their sampling tables, they'll have hard liquor sampling, and they'll have wine sampling and beer sampling. But the biggest thing I notice that's different from the Costco's here in the States is they are very polite. All the sampling stations, everyone is in a very polite line, one behind the other, and they take turns. Unlike here in the States where there's a gaggle and you can't even get your basket through because Bobby Ray wants to get some pork rinds. Anyways, so there's that. And what else is happening? Tons, tons, but that's all I'm going to share right now. Hi, hi. And I'll turn it back over to you. This is N7 JVJ wishing everyone a good morning."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-07T09:12:31+00:00","id":55298,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":55297,"text":" Ooh, delicious. Up next we have N7 JBJ. Come ahead. N7 JBJ. Thank you John and thank you for hosting the net and sorry to bring up the rear. I was busy with HF stuff earlier. But, let's see real quick. Yeah, my station managers do the same but they don't need much instigation either with the TV doorbells. And between that and when the TV sets off the Alexa thing, she didn't hear me. Good. That cracks me up as well. Cami, sorry to hear you're still not doing well. I was waiting to get what you have, you and Robert had. I thought for sure that you probably got it over at our ham fest but hoping you're feeling better soon young lady. And other than that, I did CQ Worldwide contest this weekend. Had a blast. For those of you that did, I'm glad you were out there. Those of you that didn't, come back next year. It was fun, fun, fun. But other than that, I want to wish everyone a wonderful day. Stay dry. Oh, and my new antenna set up held up to the wind. That was a good test. Had that hex beam put up on the roof last week. But with that, 73 to everybody. Have a wonderful day. Stay dry. And I'll turn it back over to you sir. W7JSM and 7JVJ. Hey, thank you very much for your check in. And it sounds like CQ Worldwide was a lot of fun. Your antenna held up. So I hope I can do it again here before too long. I don't have an HF antenna up right now but I have one that's in the works so it'll probably be up in the next week or two. Hoping I can do that. And yes, we all hope Kami gets better because it's been a while. Anyway, thank you for stopping in. I appreciate it. Have a great day. Up next and closing us out on the net today is KG7FWB. And it was some reason you weren't working that day too, if I remember right. But yeah, hey, great to hear from you this morning, as always. And you have a wonderful day and yeah, have fun on Bainbridge Island. It's always kind of neat stuff to do over that way. So I've got to tell you a really quick story. We bought a 27 foot sailboat years and years ago before we bought the boat that we were living on. And we found a whole bunch of letters floating around in one of the compartments. And we were trying to figure out what that group of letters said. Well I finally got an, I managed to get enough letters from all this that I came up with rabid beings. And I'm thinking that would be a really odd name for a boat. But what it turned out to be was Bainbridge Island. So it was an anagram, rabid beings was an anagram for Bainbridge Island. So there you go. And it's just I S, it's not the whole word spelled out. At any rate, that was a crazy story. It took us a long time to figure out what that really was going to be. I liked rabid beings, so there you go. Take a trip over to rabid beings. There you go. Well 73 is Madeline, we will catch you later. N7 JBJ, what you got going on this morning? Good morning, sir. Good morning. I'm spoiled. I won't take advantage of it. That's a quick update on the sad saga of me and Winlink. I've been pulling my hair out trying to learn how to use Winlink. Actually, that's a lie. I don't have any hair left to pull out. But anyway, I made one small step towards success. Thanks to some help from some kind Elmers, I learned that the plastic plug that plugs into the back of my radio is notoriously badly manufactured, and you have to use an X-Acto knife and trim a millimeter of the plastic away from the plug in order for it to fully seat in the radio. And I've done that and done a test and found that in fact you can trigger PTT through the cable. So that eliminates the physical impediment. I still have to mess with all of those darn settings which seem like infinite. There's just setting after setting after setting. But tomorrow is a day off. So tomorrow I get to play radio. Today I'm working but tomorrow I get to play and maybe I'll figure out Winlink once and for all and then I'll celebrate by going and having dinner with family. That's the Winlink update. I need to get some Yukon gold potatoes so those them there little potatoes that are so yummy and some Spanish onions and garlic and zucchini and a couple of lemons. Did I say garlic?
