Apparently Oklahoma in hiring new teachers make the teachers take a test and if it's determined that they don't directly support Trump, they ain't getting hired in Oklahoma. I don't know if that's like a Trump favored state or what but I heard that one on the news yesterday that several teachers that had applied for positions in Oklahoma that had originated in California were given a test about current American goings on and apparently if your answers to the test show that you're not a Trump supporter you don't get hired. I don't know what the truth to that is or what the ins and outs of it are but man if that's what's happening that ain't cool. I mean if you're a certified teacher you should have to, you know your credentials should speak for themselves. You shouldn't have to do a test of American current events to get a job but I guess that's the direction we're headed in. Thanks Chuck and up here all the schools use Chromebooks for the kids. They're all supplied with them. The schools have some company here locally that does all their maintenance and repairs and replacements and all that kind of stuff and so yeah that's what they use up here. Chromebooks, they're fairly decent ones too. They're these Lenovo ones with a touch screen and a smart pen and stuff. Really cool devices for students. I could say I wish I had something like that when I was growing up but I did. I used a laptop all through school. My first one I actually got into third grade had a 16 megahertz 286 processor and it ran MS-DOS with WordPerfect 5.1 on the first laptop I ever used for school and that was a great godsend man for anyone with a visual impairment having to write stuff down. If I write my notes out even my ability to read them back is very reduced because with my vision the nystagmus that I have due to the optic nerve hypoplasia that really makes it hard for me to read handwritten script from anyone even myself. I can write it all day long and everyone else can read it but it's just the way the letters are all connected together and loopy and it just makes it very difficult for me to read. I can read type that someone has written by hand, print, no problem if it's legible but typed up stuff, I've always done it that way. I took typing classes when I was in the second grade and got really good at it and I can still do over 60 words a minute so it's not too bad. Thanks Chuck. You have yourself a good day man. Sean you get the final word this morning man, N7ECV. It's all you for final comments. This is repeater station kilo kilo. Copy that N7ECV to the group here. Well good morning and Darryl Washington your node radio or handheld has got viswar spikes on it, VSWR spikes, making it's timed at the peaks of your signals and it's enough to we can still totally understand people coming through your system but I was paying attention I can hear everybody on the Echo League side full quieting so it could be a number of things I don't mean to blame anything but I'm hearing it as you talk completely and as other stations come through. Just a heads up my friend there's something going on somewhere. But anyway good morning everybody thanks for putting up with my goofy self and I would say let this roll because I got here post whatever the heck happened this morning so I caught the end of the gist of it and that was about it and I was stuck through the whole net and I'm here so I can listen to all of you guys. It's not just banter, ham radio is a sacred spot for us to all be able to voice our opinions including Ron even if you get no emails dude that should be a hint that you're probably preaching to the wrong choir however I will say I hear the passion in your voice. I hear what you have to say and if you're that strong about it my email is on QRZ you can send me any email you want man if I get to happen to read it then want to I'll read the doggone thing that's not the point I think the point is if the group does not respond back to you you should probably adjust to the group or VFO. And I think I'm in Ballard. I know I'm deep into Seattle, and I wouldn't come here unless they paid me to. Working a case, as usual. This is Sean, your H-I-T-I. Boy, the last time we talked, I was doing pretty good. Since then, not so much. A typical birthday weekend over the first, and got smacked. I got rear-ended on I-5. And that's just been a nightmare. So I'm using a loaner car here from family and just kind of making it happen, Captain, as we keep going and pressing on. But otherwise, I'm feeling a little bit better. I had a swollen liver of all doggone things, and that finally got to where it was bearable. So I can only imagine what some of those boxers and MMA guys go through after taking a look. But anyway, just sitting out here trying not to overcook in the heat. A little warm today in downtown Seattle. Even warmer in a black car, of course. And just staring at a garage door, waiting for it to open, and the right car to pop out. It's amazing what they take people to do in this world. Hope everybody's enjoying their Saturday. Thanks for picking me up, Snowy7, Echo, Charlie, Victor, Reconet. Repeater station, Kilo Kilo 7, November, Quebec, November. All-star, Node 6222. Located in Shelton, Washington. N7ECV, Alpha Golf 7, Yankee, Mike. Oh, man. You know what? I was rear-ended once on an off-ramp. I was sitting there waiting to go. And then this car just came in. He was gliding along probably like no more than five miles per hour, probably more like three. And man, I'm glad I had my seat belt on, because I went flying. So I can imagine if someone's going faster and they hit you, that's definitely going to rattle you up. So I hope you're well. It sounds like your swollen liver is under control. I have a little bit of a swollen knee, but that's because of pickleball. So that's my own fault. I suppose it's better than being a boxer, but still, oh my gosh. And black car, you know what? I've always owned white cars, except for one case when I got a good deal on a deep blue Honda Civic car. It was a good price, and so I took that one instead of my normal white cars, because I definitely like the cooler white cars. But now, the current car is my wife's, and so it's very dark burgundy, and it gets sweltering in there. But I find even just a reflector shade in the windshield really helps keep things cool. So that's perhaps a tip for you. Maybe that'll help out. At any rate, hopefully you solve the case, you crack the case, and you can go back home and enjoy the rest of the weekend. All righty, next up, let me drop a second."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-26T06:22:00+00:00","id":24799,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":24798,"text":" November 7, Echo, Charlie, Victor. So I know at least what path you might be on there. Sure, I have an understanding of it. Makes CW kind of a pain. However, I'm rather good with my right hand rather than my left hand. I'm left handed. But I can send CW pretty good with my right hand, which is very strange. And only with a paddle, of course. But it makes things kind of fun. You know, the reason why I asked is I run, I'm in hotel rooms all the time. All the time. I'm in a hotel three weeks out of the month. So I usually ask for top floor, but I don't always get it. But anyway, when I'm in the room, I just string, I've got one wire and an un-un. I think it's a 9 to 1, I can't remember. But I've got the wire and an un-un. And I string that thing up and I don't even need to tune it for 20, 30, and 40 at all. And then tune it up for 10 and 15. And work digital modes and a little bit of side bend. Yeah, it's almost championship level for 10 meter there. You know, you mentioned 20 watts. Even on HF, I'm lucky to get past 10 watts for most of what I'm doing. I've been a portable QRP guy for a lot of reasons. When I'm going covert with antennas and stuff, I don't want to be blasting out anybody next to me or anything like that for one. I just like to see what kind of contacts I can get away with, really, and who can hear me is the biggest part. I take more pride into who's out there actually hearing me from those sites than I do. I mean, I enjoy the contacts for sure, but just a quick map of who can actually hear me from that compromised position. In situations where people are listening to respond, that's such a my mind is beat, I guess. I could put it that way, Terry. Pretty fun. I have a good time with it. I mess with a mag loop every now and then too, but it's just so finicky, man. I popped the finals on my SBX a few weeks ago and still haven't gotten it broke open to fix that. So it's just kind of set the Alex loop aside for just more fun and games, I guess. Maybe something I pay more attention to as I'm trying to use. I think the wind knocked it out. I'm not quite sure what happened, but bad all the way around just by accident. Anyhow, it's fun to know that you're active out there and staying active. I hear you on the nets when I can tie in with the dew drop in group and the rest there. So nice to actually fit in with you here for a moment and get a little rag chew. I think we might be connected to the Pacific Northwest repeater group, I think is what it's called now. I think they just came in. So this November 7 echo Charlie Victor.
