Alright, June 27th and 28th big radio weekend around the country for all hands. Seattle Radio Field Day is our version of four clubs coming together to do Field Day out at South Seattle College. "text": "Alright, first up, uh, we are seeking, well, the Seattle Marathon, in fact, is seeking volunteer radio operators to help with the marathon coming up on November 30th, that is the Sunday after Thanksgiving. If you'd like to put your ham radio license to good use, uh, for that, contact Frans. Uh, Frans can be reached at November 3 Hotel Foxtrot Sierra at ARRL.net. That's N3HFS at ARRL.net. And just ask about volunteering at the Seattle Marathon on November 30th for more information. All right, before that, though, we have the Repeater Roundabout. This is just a couple of days away. It is a weekend-long event held on many local repeaters. I think it is in a couple of states here in the Pacific Northwest. And Warm Up Your Radio, there's a website that you can go to go to that you can find over on our PSRG.org website. Basically it's a very sort of casual repeater based contest, very beginner friendly. The goal is to meet new people or repeaters that you might not normally key up. It's also a great way to get started with ham radio contests for folks who are primarily repeater users. Anyone with a ham radio license can participate. It's a friendly collaborative event for all FM users on VHF and UHF. Again more information on PSRG.org. The PSRG educational meeting from earlier this month, which was about operating ham radio in space through satellites, the ISS from Mike Thomas, KB8BMY is now available on the PSRG website. You can find that on the educational presentations page. And last but not least, coming up next month on December 13th, that's a Saturday at 1 30 p.m. December 13 1 3 it's going to be on zoom is the PS RG board meeting anyone can attend only board members can vote you do not need to be a PS RG member to attend the zoom link is not yet posted but it will be on the PS RG dot o RG website as the date approaches all right those are the announcements it is 8 21 on excuse me 9 21 on the dot it wouldn't be the 9 o'clock net if it was Let's get to more stations for round three, come ahead."

"text": "We have another meteor shower starting tomorrow. It's the ursids occurring primarily between December 17th and 24th. Meteor shower reaches maximum on December 22nd. Maximum hourly rate is usually between 10 and 15. Meteors belonging to this stream are typically faint. So a good time to spot this one. The moon will interfere with observing any of these. Hopefully, it will be firm enough to go out there and observe them. But if it is too chilly where you are, definitely go out there and bundle up. We do have a comet, comet 24P. SHALMOS rises around midnight, making it worthwhile to stay up late, especially on the weekend of the Geminids. Now, that was a couple of hours last weekend on Friday the 12th. It shares a low power view with NGC 3607 and 3608. They were deep sky objects, 10th and 11th magnitude, respectively. With SHELMA at 9th and 12th magnitude, you can estimate its brightness easily. Use detailed charts to make sure you're not misidentifying a background galaxy. So we passed those two deep sky objects. So they'll actually be out of the way. But if you're up there looking at deep sky objects, definitely see if you can find the comet. Or there's other objects as well. Henry Magazine, December 25, page 34. And that is it for the local astronomical news. This is KI0AR. I'm going to go ahead and acknowledge Caleb from LPV over on YouTube, so thanks for that. We got you on the list and Steve, we got you checked in tonight as well, so thanks for that over on YouTube. I do apologize, but again, my net logger is giving me problems, so I cannot log anyone by that means. So, if you are a new check-in to the Colorado Astronomy Net, along with giving your call sign phonetically twice, please give me your name and your QTH as well. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven november quebec november all star notes. Okay before I get it this evening anyone else wishing to check into tonight's colorado astronomy net please call with your call sign phonetically twice"
