We got PM6UYZ from Rancho Cucamonga. We got Bill, M9, OFU, who did a great job yesterday. I forgot because I hadn't had him be the net control, or I haven't been in the net with him as the net control in a long time, like two years maybe. And then we got Jim, WA8HUB. So let's go to our first player here, which is KR4FRR. I'm not sure I ever heard your call sign before, so welcome to the Calibunga net. This is KC2PKG and we've been talking about, and we'd love your comments on, magic. Do you know of any? Is there magic in the universe? Or not? This is KC2PKG. Over to you, KR4FRR. Good morning. This is KR4FRR. I actually got on for the first time Friday, I think, on the Calibunga net. I'm pretty new. Just got licensed a couple weeks ago and stumbled across programs on the Do Drop In Network, and so far I've enjoyed it. As far as the magic goes, I believe in magic for short. Like another caller was saying, I think there's the magic that's the sleight of hand. As far as the supernatural side of it that you were talking about, I personally am a Christian, so I believe in God. And I think it's cause and effect. Basically we have free will, and whatever you do and other people do kind of creates the outcomes of our life. And I'll send it back to you. This is KR4FRR. KR4FRR. This is KC2PKG. Okay. Okay, good answer, good answer. Let's go down the ranch and cook among you. KN6UYZ. We're about to know what's going on in your life right now, but the question is, is there such a thing as real magic? I keep changing just a slight and tuning the question. So what do you think? KN6UYZ, this is KC2PKG. Well, good morning KN6UYZ. I have been listening for a little while. I've just been trying to wake up actually, so I'm fully half woken up now. So I thought I'd just put my name on the list. Magic, no. Put me down in the no column for magic. Magic, I believe more in coincidence than I do magic. Not so much into faith, I sort of believe in science and things that can be proven. So yeah, that's a no column for me. Back to that KN6UYZ. KN6UYZ, all the numbers of skeptics are rising. Alright, Bill, N9O-F-U. We're asking people if they believe in real magic. This is KC2PKG. Open to you, N9O-F-U. Good morning, Greg. Good morning to the net. I've been listening for a little bit. I ended up being stuck here as everybody knows. And then yesterday I ended up going out to my daughter's house, brought some stuff out to her that my wife had for my daughter and for the grandkids. And then went out and talked to my mom. Because my brother was after me about wanting to put her into a nursing home. He wanted to move her out to Alabama, where he is, and put her up in his place. They have a rather large place. They just added on to it because his mother-in-law has moved in there. But his mother-in-law is suffering a little bit from dementia. And she's not quite all together there a lot of the times. But I think he was projecting that onto our mother. Amy talked to her after her fall, but she had knocked out the tooth. She had a big...her lips were swollen. Underneath her jaw was swollen because she fell on her face. And she was on oxycontin or oxycodone or something that made her sound worse than she was. I suppose I'll just put it that way. So I went out and talked to her and talked to the people that are taking care of her. And walked away from that meeting with a strong sense of, she's doing fine. She's doing fine. She's only, in the last three or four years, I think, fallen maybe three times. And both, two of those were out in the wild. One was near the post office where there was a big hole and she had pushed her friend to make sure that her friend didn't step in the hole. And she ended up stepping in the hole partially and that's what caused her to go down. And then the one at the church where she wasn't using her cane because she had her knee brace on."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T06:45:37+00:00","id":16094,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16093,"text":" on the cow bunking net. Uh, I think you can talk about whatever you want to talk about as long as it's in a respectable way, you know. Um, but as far as, uh, things you shouldn't say, I would, uh, I would agree with what everybody's saying. Uh, things you shouldn't say, I would just use the SPC guidelines and, uh, leave it at that, you know. Um, so that way, everybody's welcome. Are there things that we shouldn't say, or stories we shouldn't tell, um, subjects we shouldn't bring up on the Kyle Bunkenette? This is KC2, PKG. Uh, hello, everyone, again. KN6, UYZ. Uh, then I started thinking, you're talking about something happening on Saturday, and I, I don't remember if I was, uh, talking on Saturday or not, because I didn't hear anything special going on. I think that's the day that I had a really bad headache, and, tried to stay in bed all day long, but, if I, uh, said anything that I didn't know, if I, uh, said anything, uh, that was, uh, deeply offensive, let me know. I would never dream of asking somebody who served in the service whether they killed somebody or not. Although I heard the best answer to that in a movie with Robert De Niro called Rangin'. And all these guys are hired to do a job and they're all sitting around a table. And one of the young, younger kids asks, you know, did you ever kill anybody? And Robert De Niro looks around the table, looks at his friend, and he goes, Well, I heard someone's feelings once and I thought that was the best possible answer. Because it made the guy feel ridiculous for asking the question. Um, and that's good because I think it's a very written question. Yeah, I'm watching Aaron now too. Um, it doesn't look like it's going to give us on the East Coast too hard a time. It's going to stay out to sea. At least that's what they're saying now, but who knows? I mean, there's a big storm. It's the first official hurricane of the season. Oh, that reminds me. So, Ron, for emergency power you're going to batteries, big batteries. And that's when you find out how much power the refrigerator actually uses. Which is, it's the start up of the cycle. It uses a vast amount of power. And when it first starts the cycle, just running, it doesn't use a lot of power. It does. And what I was going to ask you, do you have natural gas in your neighborhood? Or if you don't have natural gas then you could think about a propane generator. But getting a gas generator, that's a mistake. Because there's always, if you live in a crowded area, metropolitan area, you will not get any gas by the second day. We've seen that. So mine in Morristown was natural gas. And the longest I had to run that thing was 11 days. And it was great. And my neighbors loved me because I had extension cords coming out of my car. So I went to their houses. And, but yeah, you can look for an alternate fuel. And I run this one here, it's propane. And how long have I run? About a week and a half. And I burned the generator up. It just died on me. It came apart. And we were out, we got power for an additional three days, which was weird. Anyway, back to you Russell. KV9, NSK, this is KC2, PKG. Back to fuel when you're dizzy. KV9, go to KR4FRR, get back to speed. This is KR4FRR. I'm glad another gentleman was just talking about generators. I'm on the East Coast as well. And I probably need to drag my own out, crank it up, and make sure everything's good with it. And get prepared for the hurricane season. I have not run it in a year. I think it was about the last time I run it. But I do have a question for everybody who is a little bit more familiar with the records that we were talking about earlier. Like I said, I'm only on the cheap. I think it was about a $40 record player from Walmart that I've heard people talking about how much superior the sound quality was of records versus digital audio. And maybe the reason I couldn't see that it was any better was because of my record player that I had being so cheap. And with that all said, thanks to you Russell, KR4FRR. And there I go again. Now, let's go to KM1X. It's good to hear about it, Devon. You're up. N90FU, KM1X. Well, as far as I'm concerned, with regards to, again, the nation's capital, that is basically our front door, if you will. That's the front porch for the country. And, you know, we want it to look good. It isn't a big area. It's not a big deal. You know, all of us are paying, everybody that's paying taxes in this country is paying for the upkeep of the District of Columbia. You know, we're not paying for the upkeep of Chicago or LA or whatever. Now, with regards to LA, or California in general, according to CBS News, the state of California has spent $24 billion. Now, that's a lot of money, but California has the fourth or fifth largest economy in the world. They've spent $24 billion in the last five years on homelessness. And the number of homeless has done nothing but climb. So, throwing more money at it, I mean, if you build it, they will come. You throw more money at it, boy, that's where the homeless are going to go. So, I don't think that's the answer. Just throw more money at it and then have the rest of everybody that's working and paying taxes foot the bill for it. It's proven that it's not working right there. That's not the answer. They're the charities to kick in. Let them fund some of this, or most of it, to be honest with you. That's the Christian thing right there. I think it's ironic, too, that the people that are crying about tariffs, and, oh, the price of beans is going to go up. Well, you don't think that the price of your tax bill goes up every time you throw more money at the homeless? You can't have it both ways. And it's usually the people that are paying little or no taxes that are doing all the crying about it. And then you've got the rich that will pay through the nose for accountants to make sure that they don't have to pay one penny more in taxes than necessary. By every loophole, I do not want to have to pay any taxes. But everybody else should have to pay more taxes because we need to spend more and spend more and put it on this and that and that. So, you know, I think throwing money at the problem is not going to solve it. And I've said it before, the Bible says the poor you will have with you always. So maybe this is God's way of saying, let's go on the street, bring a homeless person into our house, and we'll take care of them. And keep it out, keep our hands out. We'll do it. Mano a mano. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven November, Quebec, November. All star note. Six times. Well, thank you. There. The shelter, Washington. Sorry about that. I was talking to another driver here and he just got back from medical leave. So we got John. I fixed on the list. So I will pass it over to you. How is things down the range of the. This is John K and six you wise things are things are warm and rancher could come on. You know, we're experiencing like a hundred degrees or something like that. They call it less usually when they say it's ninety five degrees. It's really a hundred hundred five. Something like that. Where they where they get the temperature reading from is, I don't know, some little building in the shade with sprinklers around it cooling the air. Or somebody who can't read a thermometer. I'm not sure which it is. Let's be back to homeless. You know, you know, he had a real heartfelt. Dissertation on the homeless in cages and whatever. And I thought what she said to his merit. But I also had I thought what a couple of other people. Ron and I forgot the other gentleman's name said, said I thought that was pretty accurate as well. So I don't think. There is going to be one single person, one single homeless person who is put in jail. They didn't ask for it. They're given a choice. Shelter treatment. Get with the program. It's only if they elect to just to not accept treatment, which I think is important. Or shelter. Would they go to jail? I mean, there has to be some teeth in the whole thing. I don't know that people or politicians want to build that many jails even to put the homeless in them. But, yeah, it's it's in my way of thinking. Sorry. It's the homeless person's fault. If he lands in jail because he's not willing to accept other choices. So I sort of like the program. I'm a lot of work on the guy. I like cleaning up the town. I like reducing crime. I like I like having beautiful cities. I'm sorry, but I think that's the way to go. Just a thought. Can you see why? Thanks so much. I think you're on. Yeah, I think that's a lot of people's. I mean, we have we have these cities. Yes, we do have homeless. But when the homeless. Defecating and, you know, spray painting. The homeless, I don't think are doing a lot of the spray painting. I think it's a lot of the kids and stuff like that doing graffiti and other things. You know, it's depressing for people. I mean, I've always, you know, I'd be you know, you live in San Diego, San Diego. And if I walked around, you know, it was just like the trash and graffiti and stuff like that. You know, it's like, hey, you know, this is a city and we're trying to bring people into the city to vacation and spend their money. We're asking San Diego to spend their money. You know, how many people don't want to be there and stay there? You know, because of that. So I think if you talk to the police, you know, there was a lot of people protesting over the things that are happening. But, you know, only a couple blocks where the people were protesting, someone was shot and killed. And their thing was, oh, it was sad that this guy got killed while we were protesting. It was like, no, it's just sad the guy got killed to begin with. You know, why is this crime happening in the lot? It was because 70 percent of the people that were getting these crimes, you know, they were in hands, like, you know, let go. There was no duper and nothing telling them, hey, we don't do this. We were just saying, well, we'd rather not have you do this. You know, we'll let you go. Please don't do it. Pretty, pretty. And these people were just laughing. They were just laughing because they knew nothing was going to happen to them. You know, you talk about the state capitol, Washington, D.C., you know, the crown jewel of the United States, it's supposed to be the crown jewel. And even the places that used to be safe were getting overrun by these gangs and youths that are underage. They're coming out carjacking and mugging and, you know, on the train or subway there that they have. And, you know, it's just appealing and nobody wants to go to D.C. because of it. And it should be the obvious telling. People should want to go to D.C. and, you know, see all the great wonders that they have there found in the country and all the great sites without having to worry about being mugged or being robbed or being carjacked. So hopefully they'll come up with a humane solution for everybody, you know, take care of criminals, do something, you know, good for homeless people. But, you know, you can fix it. And, you know, this is just one way to see it and they'll adjust it if they need to and go from there. That was my rant because I was next on the list, but we are at the bottom of the list. I'm going to take a quick call for check-ins. Is anybody up there? All right. All right, I'm here. I'm going to send them down because I just looked at the thing that said that I tied out. So I apologize, but I don't know. I said this was the end of the list. But they're looking for a check-in. Well, let's try Kevin. K.M. Wex. Did you get that deer block? Kevin, I tell you, man, I've really been enjoying the photos and the videos of the deer. You've got so many of them around down there. It's awesome. Absolutely awesome. I don't say it's gonna be too much longer before they're up knocking on your door for that feed. I think you already said there was one in the driveway one day when you got home. And over to you, Kevin, for final comments. Go ahead, we owe one to you, K.Z. V01UKZKM1X. Actually, this morning when I got up, I looked out the window and there were two out on the front lawn. I did get a block. The blocks came in. So I actually, they got ten blocks delivered yesterday and I bought eight of them. But they're not all for me. Half of them are gonna be for a buddy of mine. And the feed that I usually get, you know, the grain, they are out of until Friday. And this dude that was working there, he actually gave me a bag of a different type of grain. But I've been told it's not as good for their stomachs. So he was trying to sell me some of that. He gave me a bag a couple weeks ago. This is wintertime. Good for their antlers in the winter and stuff. And he just gave it to me outright. And then today, he tried telling me some of that stuff. And I said, well, I want to kind of hold off. I don't know. It's not as good for their stomachs as it usually is. Well, I went to school for this and the fat content does not go for their stomach. And I want to check out what the fat content was anyway. But the poor deer haven't had these blocks for a couple of months and I know they love the blocks. So the blocks will be going out tonight and I'm tempted to put one real close to the house. Because they love it. That's like crap to them. So I'm tempted to see how close they can get. But I feel like I've got to have a camera so that I can capture them, you know, so close to the house. But we'll see. But I hope everybody has a great day and we will talk to you again soon. This is KM1X673, everybody. Back to you, Charles. Oh, well, that's awesome. Well, I'm sure they'll love getting some more of their favorite food again. That's awesome, man. Most people have got cats and dogs, you know, it's got a raccoon, you know, monkey. But how many people can say they've got like a herd of deer as their pets? They basically are. I mean, you feed them, you get videos and pictures of them. They don't seem to be afraid of you from the videos that you've shot. I'm guessing with your phone. I don't know how far you're zooming in when you get those really good videos. But man, oh man, great little, great pets for sure. Next up, we're going to go to John KN6EYZ for final comments from you this morning. All right. Thank you, Daryl. Thanks to everybody on the net. My comment is sort of summary a little bit of the homeless thing. And both you, Daryl and Josh, sort of touched on this a little bit a few minutes ago as well. I was thinking when I read about California spending $24 billion on homeless, I was thinking, well, how many homeless do we have? And what if we allocated some land for some giant tent cities? You wouldn't need to build, I mean, homeless living tents already. So you'd build tent cities, but you provide them three hot meals a day, bathroom facilities, some hot and cold running water. That would be a huge upgrade to their standard of living. And it would get them off the sidewalk, which people want. Well, in some research, I was told that that wouldn't actually work because there's no alcohol or drugs involved. And they need to be amongst us to earn that $30 a day or whatever to be happy with the drugs and alcohol, I guess. So going back to the D.C. treatment or jail question, I'm thinking that nobody is going to pick the jail option because there's no alcohol or drugs involved, at least not in any jails I've ever heard of before. So I'm thinking that this D.C. treatment or jail thing is not really a jail or a negative. It's a positive. It's a way to get the homeless into treatment, which would be a positive step for them. I guess that depends on what kind of treatment you get and where they live while the treatment's going on. And that I don't know. But I was taking a positive spin on that treatment, yes. And nobody's going to pick jail. KF6 UYZ, back to that. There's definitely no drugs or alcohol in treatment programs, so that's probably off the table as well. So most of them are probably just going to say, all right, well, we'll move out of the area. We'll go to another state or something. But then it's the other state's problem, which I don't think Trump cares about too much. It's not in my backyard, but he's the kind of deal, right? It's an unfortunate situation, but it's not one that we're going to be able to solve here on the net today, that's for sure. We can definitely discuss it and see how people feel about particular situations. But unfortunately, none of us is dictator Trump, so we can't really get any of that stuff done. N9, OFU, Bill, you're up, man. Final comments from you this morning. All right, we're a little bit off the start right now, so I'll just go ahead and finish everything. Thank you, everybody, out here. I came in small with Russell and Josh Friday, and I think it's this Saturday, it's going to be Dee taking over for Kevin. So, might be wrong, it might be the following Saturday, but I think this is Saturday. So we'll catch everybody out here then. N9, OFU, that's it. Get what you can do. It's absolutely fantastic, I didn't realize Dee was going to take a stab at it. But yeah, it's easy, Dee, it really is. You're getting to know a lot of the call signs out here now, and a lot of people and stuff like that. See, if you're down for being a net controller, I'm down for supporting that 100%. So that's good. Hopefully, I'm off bright and early on Saturday morning. I was last reach, and even on Sunday. I was up for that one as well. So, yeah, cool stuff. I guess when my sleeping habits have gotten back to normal now, it's easier for me to get up on those weekend days. All right, let's see if Danny is still with us, KR4FMR. If you're still with us, final comments to you this morning. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7. Yeah, I'm still here, it's Kilo Romeo 4, Moxshot Romeo. Romeo, I think he had two F's in there instead of one. Yeah, I don't have any suggestions to solve the world problem, homelessness. I know the other person, two or so, ahead of me was talking about the tent city. I thought I'd seen a line somewhere where there's a section out west where you could camp indefinitely. But I think it was kind of a desert area, so that probably wouldn't be too good. If I was homeless, I don't think I'd want to stay out there and roast to death myself. Other than that, I appreciate y'all letting me come in and hang out with y'all. This is, I think, my third time or so dropping in. Conversation's been interesting for sure. And, Daryl, I think earlier you were talking about having a hard time finding jobs to do. I have a suggestion, I don't know if you'd like it or not, but I've heard that the pictures in OnlyFans is pretty lucrative. With that, I'll say 63. This is Danny, KR4FRR. I thought about that one before, but then it was quickly discussed that, yeah, I might make a whole lot of money. You know, as long as I start off completely in the nude, people will be throwing mad bucks at me to put that clothes back on, man. So, oh, that might be a good way to go. Thanks, Danny. Yeah, on this one, man, this one's a little different than pretty much every other ham radio net you'll find. We do allow topics of political conversation. We do allow discussion of religious-type topics. Nothing is pretty much off the table here on this one. As long as, like you say, you do it respectfully, you do it, you know, you don't fire at people directly. You know, you're not telling people off for their views and their opinions and stuff. This has worked this way for years and as many years. And like you say, we've got people out here with very difficult political opinions, and we're all still friends. So, you know, it works, man, and you're welcome to join us anytime you like. If you ever hear a topic you don't like, follow me. Come in, let us know, and give us your perspective on it. If you want to talk about whatever we're talking about, well, jump in then and talk about it. Whether you like it or you don't, you know, it just works. And it allows us to discuss topics like this that are in the news, but other nets wouldn't let you touch with a ten-foot pole. So we try to keep it open out here, and people tend to like it, you know? So I think that's why you get a lot of people, and I've been told over the years that's why a lot of people do participate in this net. There's no restriction on what you can discuss, and I think that's fantastic. Because despite what some people think, there is actually no rule about political and religious topic discussion. So I challenge anybody to show me that rule, actually, because I know it doesn't exist. This is Roy, KD7WA here in Nesco, Oregon. It's about 57 degrees, going to get up to around 65. And we've actually been pretty lucky. We've been over here on the coast for about a week now, and no rain, but that's going to change. They're talking about maybe an inch of rain. But we'll take it. It's just been great here. We really lucked out and missed all that 100-degree temperature over there. Gail, we're being in the 60s and 70s here. Yeah, and by the way, you guys in Roseburg set a record a couple days ago at 103. So I know you've been hot down there. And that don't feel bad. I tried to check in right at the start on this, and I got stepped on every one of you until I finally got in. So you just got to keep trying. So what was it, about five ahead of me? And you must have got stepped on about six times. Anyhow, we made a quick trip back to Salem yesterday. Boy, it was still warm. And Sue had physical therapy and had to go get some blood tests. And picked up some things at the house and got some tomatoes and green beans out of the garden and headed back. So anyhow, we're here until, let's see, Sunday after next. So we've got to, we're here for a couple weeks. Anyhow, that's about it from UNESCO in Oregon. 73 is to everybody. Back to that control. All right, well thank you, Cut. Thank you, Roy, for coming in and you and Sue would be safe. Of course, I get a little scratch in the ears to Lily there and dog Cookie. And you guys enjoy the time over there on the coast? Yeah, and I'm sure it's a lot cooler over there because the people over on the Handy Ham Conference, I know one guy that lives over in Florence, and it's been kind of right around the 60s and 70s. It doesn't get really hot over there on the coast, which is, you know, well, it's not, it's nothing new to me really, because the coast is going to be cooler. Because it's near the ocean, right near a bed of water, you know, a big bed of water. Salt, whatever it is. All right, Roy, have a good day. And folks, be sure to shop in tomorrow, Friday with Roy, H87WA. And he'll be more than happy to chat with you and, you know, have coffee over on a good net here. All right, then, leave them, we'll leave masculine and now we're going to swing out here, I don't know where it's at, KR4, KR4FRR. Danny, I think the mic, it must be you, the mic is yours. My name is K4FRR, I'm located in Newton Grove, North Carolina, kind of on the east coast of North Carolina, roughly. Currently in Raleigh, that's where I work at. Yeah, it has finally quit raining. Down here it has rained all week long. Told some guys yesterday, whenever I got home from work, I got us some chickens and ducks, and I went out there to feed them and they had on the life jackets, kind of to stay afloat. As you walk through the yard, it just squishes. So, it has finally quit raining, I'm happy about that, possibly going to get some more rain this afternoon. Other than that, that's about all we really got going on, I'm about to go help a guy out at work here in a minute. We do some work at the local jail and somebody's tore up one of the toilets that we have and it's got a table kind of thing mounted to the side of it, he has to weld. And he had to do that a few weeks ago and he didn't pay attention and sometimes the inmates, they'll take trash and shove it behind the toilet in a crack if they can get it in there and he ended up catching the tail on fire, so I'm going to be fire watched today. Other than that, that's about all the excitement we have. I'll send it back to Nick, JR4FRR. Alright JR4FRR, KC7YFE, thank you for coming in Danny. I hate to hear about people trying to set buildings and jails on fire, but you know, those inmates, I mean I watched a few prison shows on YouTube, like Ohio Prisons and stuff like that, and yeah, they got one in there on contraband wars and I watched that one once in a while. Yeah, those inmates, they can get pretty clever in coming up with ways of stashing, you know, both nuisance and the other contraband, like cigarettes and whatever else and other stuff. Alright, have a good day Danny, take care. We are clear with JR4FRR and I'm at the end of this round and I would like to take this moment, this next round for anybody that has not, for any newcomers or visitors, I'd like to find if there's any newcomers and visitors, this is your round to check in on. Good answer. Good answer, every day is magic. Alright, KM1X. Kevin, take a shot at this question. Do you believe in any kind of magic? And you can define it yourself. This is KC2PKG. KC2PKG KM1X. Let's just get, I mean, there's magic. You know, it comes down to the definition. I mean, you know, the Penn and Teller magic is not real magic. I mean, it's all fake. It's sleight of hand or whatever. So that's not real. They call it magic. Based on your definition of not being invisible, you know, then technically, you know, the microwave oven is a magic box that will, you don't see anything, but all of a sudden the food gets hot, you know? So I guess, you know, it's a fine line, I guess, in defining what is magic and what is faith. And I don't know who it was that said it, but you know, about religion, a couple of references to religion have been made. You know, you can't see it, but that's what makes it faith. You know, you believe in it because you can't explain it. And there are things that can't be explained that you can't see. The microwave oven can be explained, even though you can't see it. So is it magic? You know, we just have a faith that when we push the buttons on the box, that whatever comes out, it's gonna be hot. You know, things like that. So yeah, I would say, I believe that there are things out there that can't be explained, but I believe that it exists, and that's, I guess, where faith comes in. I don't know, and that I would slap the magic term on it, because again, you know, I think of magic as, you know, a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat and all that. And it's not really pulling it out of thin air. It's hidden somewhere. I mean, it's all, you know, it's fake. So there you go. KM1X, back to you. KM1X, this is KC2, PKG. You know, there was this great story, and I wish I could remember the title, but it was about a land where there, witches and wizards, and the most dangerous person in the land was the magician. And he worked like a regular magician. He had tricks that he could execute. And they were all terrified of it, because there was no beating him. No beating him at all. All right. Ooh, backed by popular demands, W0GL. Alan, is there magic? Tell us what you think. This is KC2, PKG. Well, do you believe in magic? Wasn't that a song by the turtles back in the 60s? Oh, anyway, I do. I want to say one more thing about magicians. You know, the act where they throw the knife at the girl in the bowbird. They actually toss a knife behind them. That knife comes out from behind the board. I saw that a while back. But yes, I believe in magic. Anything that happens, that's unexplainable, which has already been said, is magic. Anything that you think, maybe in advance, and then it happens, that could be magic. Poresight, I don't know what. Anyway, W0GL, back to that. All right, the unexplained. We may have a question sometime when you can talk about your experiences that were not there. Not where? Not from this universe. Have you ever been somewhere, felt something, done something that was impossible to explain? So we'll say that one for another day because we have another question here. And first I'm going to see if anybody else wants to check in. So if you'd like to get in on the conversation, this morning, Monday, August 11th, this is the cowabunga, this is the place to do it. Talk about anything you want. And the next thing we're going to talk about is the note 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. For now, I just want to hear your call sign. Oh the weekend, there was no weekend unfortunately I had to work Saturday so I spent all day Sunday trying to do what I would have done Saturday. So yeah there was no weekend on my end. This week is going to be very very busy and come the weekend, or not the weekend but Friday I have a daughter's appointment to do a balloon sinoplasty where I haven't been able to breathe out my nose in a year. So not very excited about it but if it works I guess whenever everything heals I'll be happy I did it maybe. Yeah the social security thing, I've been hearing people saying for a long time that it would never make it and it makes sense to me. For me I'm 40 and whenever I was 18, 19, 20 the older people that I used to work with that's what they always said was it would never be there. Because you know you got the boomer generation and what not where they had at least both of my parents they had 5, 7 siblings and stuff like that. And now you have people having one kid, two kids so if you got one person putting a quarter in a jar and four taking a quarter out, yeah that doesn't work out too good. So like I said they could remove the cap, make people pay more in potentially. Or probably what I feel like they would do would be to make it where you draw less to try to make it go further. Which will suck but hey that's government they're always there to binge over and never patch on the back. It's not something you have to talk about, but if you have me out here you can talk about what you need to talk about. So if you want to talk about that you can talk about radios, you can talk pretty much anything out here. Let me know if you want to see the list or just to be one-time if we keep you on the list and when we get to the bottom of the list and we get on the deck, everybody gets a chance to talk again. So just go ahead. Okay, thank you, thank you. Yeah, the homeless issue that y'all were talking about earlier is kind of an eye opener for me. I recently, well I shouldn't say recently, but in the past three years I got a job working with a county and we have two jails that we work. And the area that I'm in is really not that bad in North Carolina as far as the homeless population overall, but it seems like recently there's most definitely been an increase in folks that are homeless, whether it be the situation or drugs. There seems to be a lot of it too. It's kind of sad too, working in the jails, a lot of that is drugs where you have the homeless people coming in and out of jail. But I didn't realize that a lot of the situations too, there's a lot of mental situations with the homeless folks as well. And I never really realized that until I started working around it. There's a lot of them that are, I don't know, it's like they need help somehow, but jail is what they get here. And I don't really know the answer to that situation. But also too there's a lot of them that do not want to be off the street. I've talked to a few of them before and they'll say, hey, as long as I can get me about $30 a day I'm happy. So that's not me. I like to have a house to go home to and an air conditioner when it's hot. So I'll give it back to the KR4FRR. I'll be ready to go here in just a minute. I've just got to take a quick bathroom break. I just left the list when I came back. Are you typing these new stations on the list? There are four of them. Yeah, I'll do it. Cool, yeah will do. It just seems like another example of presidential overreach to me. Um, that's why I asked if Greg or anyone had an opinion. I knew if Ron jumped in it was going to be, uh, there's a birthday party and Trump is bringing cupcakes. Um, yeah, that sounds serious. From what I heard from the impeachment, he's gonna sweep the homeless off the streets basically. We're gonna put you somewhere. We're gonna do something to live. He's gonna be here. It sounds like he's got a problem with the homeless and graffiti. Um, as well as, you know, people committing crimes and stuff, but he made a point about the graffiti and the homeless. Um, what do you do about the homeless? I mean, you can't just ship them off to another state, you know, or Kenya. You know, can he just bust the homeless around like immigrants? You know, most of these homeless are, you know, United States citizens. So where does the line get drawn as to what you can do against these people? I just, I think it's absolutely terrible. I think it's another episode of Trump just completely overreaching. And you can't just declare an emergency just because, you know, that's what you want to do that day. There has to be an actual emergency, doesn't there? Like, there really has to be, like, an insurrection. Like, you know what happened on January 6th when they stormed the Capitol? That would have been an insurrection, in my opinion. Uh, not an overabundance of the homeless. That doesn't seem like an insurrection to me. That seems like a problem, or just a problem that has to be dealt with, but not through an executive order and the National Guard and, you know, bringing in all these government agencies. I just don't get it, man. Nothing this man does both su- does me one bit. Nothing surprises me one bit. Back over to you, Russell. I think 5 gallons pretty much lasts me all day technically. And uh, yeah so I sort of enjoy having a generator and not being in the dark for sure. Um, I had something else I was thinking of too. Oh the uh, talking about the uh, the big dog syndrome with your little dogs. Um, it seems to me that basically every single small dog has that for the most part. I've come to notice all your Chihuahuas and small dogs like that. I even have a smaller dog myself, a miniature Australian Shepherd. And he likes to bark at all the dogs in the neighborhood that come around. And uh, it's fairly friendly though but uh, it'll sit there at the gate and bark and bark and bark. And my neighbors lab come in the yard one day and he was barking and barking and barking. I said you know what I'll fix my dog and then I'll let it out and when that lab comes running up to it it'll probably run.
