Good morning everyone I'm grateful to be up this morning gave my praises and here I am I want to tell you I knew well my husband was sick So this morning I took a COVID test and apparently I have COVID so Sometime this morning. I don't think I've got it But we'll see And we live so far from everybody else on the planet That uh, this is, it's like living in quarantine The first go round with COVID, you know, we kind of felt trapped And then we realized about a week and a half into it that this is the way we live anyway We just, we don't go out that much and we live at the end of a dirt road Alright, um, KJ5IRQ Josh, how was your weekend? And uh, you got any plans for the week? This is KC2PKG KC2PKG, this is KJ5IRQ Uh, this is another work week Not been a whole lot Today's uh, uh, day set apart, but other than today, the rest of the week will be just work Um, my wife has me rebooting chicken coop And uh, I'm making a little bit of headway on it during in the morning, it's too hot to do in the afternoon right now I'm actually out here right now getting ready to put in a few studs and frame in the door I'm gonna get that done this morning While I listen to you fine folks Uh, other than that, that's it The weekend was, it wasn't bad, it was a little actual My wife cooked a beautiful piece of style last night And I'll tell you what, it was one of the best things I've eaten in a while Uh, especially with the food plan in mind That's what I call it, a food plan, not so much a diet Uh, I'm gonna go and get some food And I'm gonna go and get some food Um, so yeah, it was delicious, so Yeah, that's it, that's all I got to report on so far, I'll send it back KJ5IRQ, back to KC1 KC2? PKG KJ5IRQ, this is KC2PKG, I love salmon I really do, especially in a rice bowl Uh, pretty, pretty good stuff Ryan, 884H, I'm gonna go and get some food I'm gonna go and get some food Uh, pretty, pretty good stuff Ron, 884HO So, how was your weekend? This is KC2PKG, over to you, Ron, 884HO Good morning, Greg, good morning to everybody Participating in the caribou I'm gonna get on the jet-truck and I'm, uh, looking forward to a nice productive week I got, you know, my screenshot, but Finished an email to a friend in the hospital I spent a little time on it, you know, make it a little entertaining for him Uh, it's just boring And they're, you know, you don't get a lot to do He had amputation They're not always good And, uh, they're trying to save me And, uh, they're trying to save the rest of his foot Now, and, you know, I don't know what, uh, the results of that are gonna be Uh, I made a few friends on X Uh, I found, uh, some people I have in common Uh, that was nice I'm looking at one of these posts Uh, I don't, uh, understand, you know, why people eat with their hands I kinda am a little disgusted with it It seems to be a cultural thing with some people And, uh, with some cultures It just looks, uh, so wrong You know, I mean, I've always been taught to eat with a fork, you know Uh, other than that, it's been pretty good I've been looking at the futures And, uh, that's very promising after the profit-taking Maybe, uh, a little too promising I expected more profit-taking today I don't think that's been enough because we had come so far I still have stuff that I'm looking at that, uh, didn't come down That, uh, probably could have But at least, you know, that signal is some strength there So I'm gonna be focusing on them today If, uh, if the hot open sticks, if it holds up So that's what I'm looking at right now Uh, gray and, uh, and then, uh, let the time go by quick Before the market opens in a few hours AA-4-H-O, roger, I'm on Florida back to gray and then control Going to UKZ, quick question 3-E-1-W-I-O You had me at your question, Darryl And I'll pick you up in one second there, Peter Great, uh, Ron, you mentioned you eat everything with a knife and a, well, with a fork Just curious, you're not one of those fellas that, like, cuts up a hamburger You know, like bun and all Or eats, like, a slice of pizza with a fork and knife Or, like, cuts up your chocolate bars, are you? Beep Now, better to eat potato rice and, and, and pork You know, I mean, to just stuff it in your mouth and, and, like that Um, you're not looking at, at what I'm seeing here right now I'd send you the video if, uh, you want it And, uh, that's how they eat, you know, I mean, we have food that's designed to be eaten with your hands But, uh, not like this Just imagine eating with chopsticks I can't see how people do that Just two sticks, man, rice or small little pieces I can see eating noodles with it if you had some talent But I see some of these Asian people, man, and they're pros They're pros with the chopsticks I've seen them like it before, like, eat all the rice with chopsticks Back over to you, Greg Uh, you know, when you can see this, KC2, PKG Yeah, about half the planet eats with their hands predominantly Um, so that's, that's too bad That's too bad for you If it, uh, if it kinda grosses you out But there you go, everybody And I'm glad somebody mentioned chopsticks Because I think that that is something Uh, even if you practice it three times a day You know, a lot of Asian countries, you know, they have three meals a day And they practice them three times a day You get pretty good with chopsticks Very, very good, as a matter of fact Alright, Peter, VE1WIN, we missed you on the first roll Uh, how was your weekend, Peter? And, uh, what are you doing this week? This is KC2, PKG Yeah, very good, Greg, VE1WIN I'm having internet issues here, so I don't know what's going on here, and it's in the news, so Uh, when are you going on the weekend? Not much Yeah, we got a family barbecue today We got about, uh, 40 to 50 people coming So, there you go And this week, I don't have any plans at all, Greg, so Back to you, Greg VE1WIN, you said you were going to be one and done Or you want us to just call you and see if your internet is still running? Uh, put me down as one and done, Greg I'll check in later once I figure out what's wrong with it, so It's only quarter to nine here, so they give some titles I want to recheck later I will You shall have it, okay Um, this is KC2, PKG, and I'm doing a call for check-ins for the Monday morning edition of the Cowabunga Net Uh, come now with your call sign This is KC2, PKG This is KC2, KN6, UIC, John, transfer commander KN6, UIC Located in Shelton, Washington"},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-07T06:09:25+00:00","id":14933,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14932,"text":" The backdrops may not go to 88484 if you get back to me. I don't have much for this scholar around right now. Russell, am I pulling up some stuff? You know, just doing some research. I made a funny error a little while ago. I typed into a question and I thought I was typing it into AI and I typed it into an instant message from somebody I was previously having a conversation with. So I just got in there and told them that they didn't need to respond to that question. I was meant for the AI platform. Which, you know, that could possibly get you in trouble. In this case it wouldn't. It would create some confusion. Like, you know, what in the world is he asking me this for? But other than that I don't have anything. It's kind of early. I'm still waiting for some reports to come over. And I got one person that just came up right now so I'll be listening to him. Maybe I'll have something more listening to that while the net's going on for the next scholar around. 884-H, we're on the roof of Florida. Back to you, Russell. And then I go down to D and they get back to me. This is K, N4LDF. This is D. You know, Russell, I was looking around the internet for weeks and months. I've been looking for an answer. And I'm wondering if you guys have an answer for this question. I know you guys are much smarter than me because you've been in this up-do for a long time. So I was looking for a way to communicate if there's no satellites are down, meaning no cell phones. And if the FCC puts down the frequency to only ambulance, fire department and police. So how would we communicate? I'm like, you know, that's something that's been on my mind. I've been wanting to ask. And I guess, you know, you have the answer. I've been looking for something that, unless I go back to mail, you know, the post office, you know, how would that be done if there's no, the satellite is taken down, no satellite frequency, and, you know, the FCC only puts the radio frequency for ham and police department, and that's it. No public frequencies. Does anybody have that answer? This is K, N4LDF."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-08T04:48:39+00:00","id":15161,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15160,"text":" Okay, I copied five calls, I'll find them in there, so we'll start off with that to get this Friday morning going. I heard AA-4-H-O, that'd be one, that'd be Florida. The NUTI, Georgia, KC-2, PKG, that'd be Gray up in Maine. They're going to run our KN-4, L-V-F, and that's D-N-D. I'm doing this off memory, so I'm trying to remember, I think you're in Florida. I could be wrong. Anyone AI who's in and out, thank you for checking in this morning. And WZO-G-L, Alan, who's also in and out, thank you for checking in this morning. So, yeah, I figured we'd get started, and I'm going to use this first program as a recap for everybody who's waking up to get on the net. That'll give Larrin, Gray, and Dee a chance to tell me about their morning so far and what they have planned for the day. This and that, I've been doing a lot of thinking about, and I think it's going to change over the next few months as I start implementing new things. We'll talk more about that as we go. But it is a beautiful Friday morning, so no sort of Mondays or Fridays. You made it to Friday so you can get back, sit back, relax, and get ready to enjoy the weekend. So with that, we're going to move to AA-4-H-O, and let's hear what Larrin has to tell us this morning. Good morning. Yeah, good morning, Josh. Good morning to everybody participating in the call upon getting on the G-drop. Yeah, I got a big dinner tomorrow. Thank God it's Friday. Looking forward to this weekend and that big dinner tomorrow night. I got a pipe, and it was actually too small for it to work. Well, it wasn't really, you know, the size didn't matter, forgive the pun. It was the connector. It didn't fit in there, and it's a stepper motor. And the stepper motor I got had four wires, and the plug was five. So I reordered it, and this morning I'm going to get that, and I think that's going to solve the problem to fix this device. I'm trying to get working again. Pretty much I was on for an hour this morning with Dan and Columbia, and I talked for about an hour. I'm going to keep this short, give other people a chance to talk more. If you weren't able to catch the conversation with Dan this morning, we covered several really neat topics in the pre-med. It was interesting. I think you missed out if you did. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 64, Quebec November. Gold star note 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. AA-4-8-0, KJ-5, IOQ. Well, you were coming in pretty choppy there at the end. I don't know if it was just me, or if it was everybody. I'll pause and let Gray or somebody else chime in to make sure it wasn't just me. But you were pretty choppy, and I didn't catch the end of that. I don't know if it was me or D, because I know you two are on the net. Did y'all hear the same thing? Yeah, I heard him cutting out from time to time, especially towards the end. Thank you very much, Gray. So there's our confirmation run. So it isn't just me. So no big deal. I could make out most of what you were saying. It was just popping out of the way, kind of like me just hitting the C-T button. So I thought that might let you know, and maybe you could work on that between now and next door. With that, I'm going to send it over to AA. I'm sorry, I'm going to send it over to KC-2-PKG. And let Gray tell us about his beautiful morning, I'm sure, up in Maine. The mic is yours, sir. AJ-5-IRQ, this is KC-2-PKG. Good morning. I'm wishing you well on your first Friday. First of many, I hope. It is a very pretty morning here. It's a little warmer than I like. It's going up to 78 degrees. But other than that, it's going to be clear and sunny. The only fly in the ointment is that we are only four in right now. Only four cats in. One stayed out. Lizzie stayed out all night and has not shown up for breakfast yet this morning. So not time to worry yet. I mean, she's been gone as long as four and five days. But we like to have them in. We did not get them all in last night. So that is a big problem. Anyway, I will pass it back to you, PG-5-IRQ. This is KC-2-PKG. Well, my wife and I both said, oh no, we hope the end of the cat comes in. I'm sure it will. You have mentioned before though that the main words, eat the cats. I think that was your wording. So that's concerning. But it's our honor to have a few cats over ourselves. We have a pair of white cats. Charlie and Alfred is what they ended up getting called. In fact, I need to snatch them up and get them down to the vet and get them snipped. They are right up to that age for that now. But they are the neighborhood Bruiser Brothers. They tend to stay together and they pretty much run the neighborhood now. So you know, these young teenage cats, about the only cat they don't necessarily know is our old cat, Knox. We've had that cat for many, many years. He is a big old cat. I don't think there's a cat in town that will miss that old fella. But anyhow, I really hope the cat is tired. Thanks for joining us this morning. It sounds a bit warm up there for you. I'll figure it out right here shortly. With that, we're going to go over to KN4LDF. We're going to give Dee a chance at the mic. Good morning, Josh. This is KN4LDF. This is Dee. I, of course, every day wake up and I'm grateful that I was allowed to wake up. It's beautiful outside. I'm going to tell you a story about my cat. I had a cat and I first named him Puss in Boots. He wouldn't answer to it. So I went and called him Pussy. He answered to that. So one time he ran out the house and I went screaming his name all over the place. And everybody in the neighborhood, it's a small town, came out the door to see why I'm screaming Pussy. So it's a funny story, but it is the dark gone truth. I named him. He was registered as Pussy. And when I went to the doctor, they went in. When they called me in, they say, OK, we're here for Pussy. So, hey, that's a funny story. But he lives to be 14 years. So back to you, Josh. KN4LDF. KN4LDF? I might get a little speechless at the moment. That's unheard of. That word you can get away with saying on ham radio without getting in trouble in a proper context. I wonder if I can work out some of my other colorful words. Probably not. But that is a hilarious story. Thank you for sharing that this morning. So, man, I'll tell you what. Getting going this morning is rough on me. I guess I need to put my thoughts together, which is OK. How much better is it I said? But I ate a few things I thought I probably shouldn't have. Not with my digestive stomach issues that kill me. Anyhow, I had some dog talk last night. I probably ate a few pieces too many. I don't eat it often, so when I do eat it, I eat it well. They're not herky nuggets. I don't want to go buy those. But they're just perfect little mouth-sized bites of perfectly sweet dark chocolate. I don't care if I let milk chocolate or some of the other stuff they got. Just a plain, solid milk chocolate. Man, I don't know if I'm talking about dark chocolate. It tastes so good. It's cheap chocolate. Herky's is not extravagantly rich chocolate. But, man, it's the spot maneuver you're in the mood for. Anyhow, the chocolate doesn't work well with my acid reflux and all that other stuff I'm dealing with. So, what I've learned is when I do that to myself, it doesn't just make my belly feel bad the next morning. It really makes you foggy. It's funny. I'm learning that when my stomach is in great shape, my brain is in great shape. That's why I'm not interested. I thought I'd share that. Alright, we've come to the bottom of the first grow out. We're going to do another round of check-ins before we actually get going. One of the things I think I'm going to do is bring that. It's been the first 15, 30 minutes just getting check-ins. See, everybody's doing their thing. Grady kind of does something similar. And then we'll kind of get started right around the 7 o'clock hour. I feel like we'll have more of a good lineup of people who want to talk. And today's topic is all about the cow bungenet. So, to let you know in advance before we get going, and nobody needs to answer it yet. And I meant to post this and I just don't have a habit down yet. So, I have hard ends when I post something early. But really, the question of the day is this. What brings you to the cow bungenet? Let me hear why you come to this net every morning. We'll come here a couple of times over the EECO just once a month. Here we go, I would like to know what brings you here. What are you enjoying? What are you not enjoying? We're going to do some follow-ups with that."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-07T06:29:59+00:00","id":14936,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14935,"text":" Yep, I will do that. And yeah, it's really fun. The graphics are nice. You get a whole bunch of different ballparks to pick from. And yeah, it's just a really fun game. See, I'll send you the name of that. I played it for like three hours last night. I think I might have played six games or something last night. I think it's 119 games or something I've got to play altogether for the whole series or the whole season. But you play them at your own pace. So, it's all good. Back over to you, man. I'll send you the name of that there now on Facebook. I just, uh, I'm not... Well, I'm pretty sure it's cool, but now I can't put it... I can't say it's that safe. It's gotten my heart drive going, I don't know. I hope my shooting out man is not on me. But when it's gone, look. It's like, boy, I need to get a couple more things. I can't do it. I can't do it. I call it the KC2PAD and then you get back to me. KV9-MSK, this is KC2PKT. Sennheiser. They're the people who first developed the super light headphones. And that's knowledge from probably 50 years ago. Or more. They have always been super high quality stuff. They really have. I remember seeing those really light headphones. Because you used to be the big cups that went over your ears. And you'd have coss or something like that. But the Sennheisers were open air. And they had great sound. They were just fantastic sound. And they just discovered something. They thought what they may think is a beautiful house. It's low kilo 7 November. I don't know how much you guys know about lithium. Lithium is used to do all sorts of stuff in the brain. Obsessive compulsive disorder is good for that. But apparently it pays a big part in memory. And keeping your brain free of amyloid plaques and all the other things that come with all sorts. And so they have already done preliminary experimentation with it. And in mice it improved their brain function tremendously. So you can look forward to some lithium in your future possibly. Which is good because Alzheimer's is really scary. Really scary. All of a sudden you don't know anybody who's around you. Which is so weird. Back to you Russell. K9NSK. This is KC2 BKG. I go on, I go there. See you again. The other thing sure, if anybody knows what your question was. But we've answered questions again too. And maybe someone might know what you're talking about. So that indeed. Maybe somebody might know the answer you want and what for. And then you get back to me Pete. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah we didn't get any audio from Dee. Although she would keep down for quite a while. I do have a comment on her question. Go ahead man. You know, so I think the question was how do we all talk if the FCC says you can't talk. The FCC says you can't use UHF or VHF for anything but official functions and stuff like that. I've been watching a lot of the development of small networks. Everybody has a wifi router. And you can use those to move traffic around. And potentially move it all the way around the world. Just using bouncing from one wifi router to the next. So I would be very interested in trying to create a new sublayer of communication between all hands. Because I've had the same question for a long time. In other words if this goes out and for some reason we can't get on this then what can we do? Well, I think the answer is networks. Networks done in patches. So that's my comment. This is KC2BKG over to you. And sorry I wanted to hear what Dee had to say. This is KN4LDF. This is Dee's comment. Go ahead Dee. This is KN4LDF. This is Dee. And yeah I didn't realize my mic was off. I can see the thing moving now. And great that's exactly what I was talking about. I was looking into mesh. I was looking into all kinds of stuff. And they required some kind of internet or satellite. And part of my question is if the satellite was down and that other one was down. That other part. So that was one of the parts that I was talking about. But you basically have what I was thinking about. I looked into mesh. It's very expensive but it still needs some kind of internet stuff I believe. I'm not sure I believe. And the other thing was for darrow. Darrow you have that white headset. And I was looking at it and one time I bought something that was a color that I did not like. And someone suggested to me well make it your own. So what she suggested was for me to take like a 1 by 1 inch of whatever my favorite thing was. And my favorite thing was Pup Pups. Puppies. So I took a 1 inch thing of mine and put it on what I want. It did not hurt the thing. So if you like sports you would put a logo. Or if you like whatever it is you make whatever the item is of your own. By putting 1 inch stickers that you could eventually remove and just clear out the debris with alcohol or whatever. And it wouldn't hurt your headset. I don't think it would. But that was what I'm saying. If it's all white maybe you make it your own with your own sports logo. Or whatever the case may be. Anyway this is KN4LBS."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-08T05:23:49+00:00","id":15173,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15172,"text":" OK, nothing hurt. We're going to leave him tentatively on my list. I'm here to help him back. So what we have on the list so far this morning is AA-4-HO and KC-2-PKG, KN-4-LDF. We had a couple of in and out. V-1-WIN, LA-5, VMA, and then tentatively KV-0-MA. So that's not the first big round of initial check-ins. I'm going to stop moving on and we'll take a few more check-ins here shortly. But let's get on to the main part of the net. So I am glad you all have made it to the cowabunga net today. It is my first Friday at net control and my fourth attempt total at net control. So if I make a mistake or two, I think it's to be expected. A man once said never apologize in advance and I've already done that. So we can see that that is over. So let's kick it off by asking the question of the day. I will start getting in the habit of posting these in advance like he does. I think that's fair. It gives everybody time. Well with that being said, the question of the day is what brings you to the cowabunga net? Let me hear why you've come to us this morning. Did you come daily? I'd like to know why. What brings you back all the time? Did you come weekly or monthly? Or if you don't love me at all? I'd also like to know why. Good or bad? We really don't care. We really like to know why. That's how we can kind of form the net and kind of make these nets more engaging for you, the participants. I'm not really doing the net control because it's fun for me, although it is. I do it for you guys and girls. I am generally interested in doing a lot of what y'all are doing and I would like to know as much about it so y'all really care. That being said, we will go ahead and move up to AA-4-H-O. We'll ask Juan one more time the question of the day. Juan, you come here every day and some days you have some battles and some days you don't. You have one of those perspectives that are quite different from most of the other people on the net, kind of like myself. So, with that being said, why don't you come to the net, buddy? What do you get out of it? What do you enjoy? What would you like to change? And that's all we're going to do for the first question. So with that, we're going to send it to Juan. AA-4-H-O, this is KJ Fab. IAP, the mic is yours. Again, Josh, good morning to you and everybody participating in the cowabunga net on the two truck van. I wanted to keep it short because I was on previously and I know I was cutting in and out. And I want to get back with you real quick, Josh, to find out if I'm in solid now because I switched over to the backup. I mentioned that I had a conversation this morning and I talked for a long time with Dan, the retired physician, that lives in Columbia now and we had a nice conversation and if you hadn't caught it, you had missed, I think, something real good. And we had it left open that anyone could have participated in. So how is this coming in now, Josh? My friend, you're covering the end almost crystal clear. No popping, no breaking. You're appropriately readable. Yeah, great. Now let me get on to the question. Thank you for that, Josh. I did say this a few times before about why I am here every morning. I do think that there's something special here going on and that's one big thing that brings me back here every day. You know, before I start listening, his head swells up and you can't get it out through the front door. That is actually a secondary thing. The primary reason actually, to put it simply, is that it just fell right in line with my schedule. And I get to, since I get up early in the morning, beyond here and the time that I have before my day starts really getting going, that time just goes by quick and I don't have to go looking for something to do. And the fact that this is a net that I feel is very worthwhile and special. There's a side effect besides. And this is something I've said before. Okay, Josh, that's the answer to your question this morning. I'm going to turn it back over to you, Ron. AA-4 or AA-2, you're referred. AA-4, AA-2, this is KJ-5. Hi, OQ. Well, that's good. Special net. I agree with you. This is a special net. I have been looking and listening to a few other ones. I was thinking part, I didn't think part of the outcome of that for a while. I started logging in and just saw something for a while before I could check in. And I agree so far, it is a wonderful kind of net. We're going to take the question and we're going to pose the same thing to Gray. And I am sure that Gray is going to have some very interesting answers on this question. Being in that controller for this net, he does have the flexibility to change things on his net. So I'm sure he has a different perspective, especially since that's lately. Actually since I've been on, which I guess is like before long enough, I've been on it the whole time, you know, about eight, nine months worth. His question is, is the question of the day always on the page? His segments are what I'm calling them, are always engaging. And he does some things on every of them that I've not heard of people doing, like interviewing people and things like that, which I found fascinating. So with that, Gray, we're going to pass it on to you. Tell us, you know, what brings you back to the Cabo net? Why do you like to host it since you are a net control host? And what made you decide to make your net the way that you made it? Your question is a little different because you are a next controller. And I'd just like to get that perspective from you. KJ5, I want you over to PCH. Located in Shelton, Washington. This is KJ5IRQ. This is KC2PKG. A little administrative at first. When George checked in, he said he was going to be in and out. So you don't have to, I don't think you have to keep calling him. The other thing is you got somehow, magically, you got Raynold from Tronheim, which we don't hear from him a lot. And it's always cool when he gets on. Talk about unique perspectives. It's an interesting guy. I come back every day and listen on Sundays. Because I really want to know why people think the way they think. It's an old story. But we, when we moved up here, it was very early in, well it was actually the beginning of the surprise Trump administration. And I was totally caught off guard. I never thought that guy would get a vote. I thought he was a joke. But he got voted in. And I suddenly realized that I don't know much about my own country and people in it. I know about the people in my circle, but I don't know about anybody else. So, now I live way, way, way north and east. And it's, let me drop it for a second. Okay, AC2, the AG return, hopefully briefly. And, I called it, when I first got here, it was Radio Deadland. I mean, I scanned every repeater. And there's at least 20 repeaters. And there's nobody talking on them at all. So that didn't really, that wasn't very exciting. And I couldn't find out what people were thinking that way. So I jumped back on Echo Link, which I used a lot in New Jersey. And somehow I stumbled across the Dew Drop Inn, which was there at that point in time. The net, Cow Bung Anet, was only an hour long. And it has lengthened throughout that time to now at least two and a half hours every day. It's my radio club. You guys are my club members, or the other club members. And even though I belong to two, they really never do anything. It's the activity and the traffic on this net that really sets it aside. It's a great thing. It is a great thing. And I'm constantly selling, saying, you know what, you need to hook up to a conference server. You got all these dead repeaters here that don't do anything at all. Put a conference server on there. So that there are people talking. There are people to interact with. I'm not a great salesman, I guess. Anyway, and okay, I'll drop it one more time. You shouldn't ask. All right. This time I am returning only briefly. This is KC2PKG. I started changing around my net because I wanted to do things that were different. I wanted to push the envelope. And I've got a bunch of different ideas. I usually try them out first, see how people react to them, get their honest opinion. And then I go back, I've got a pop quiz coming up Monday. That'll be the activity. But I think people like crosswords. Some people like 20 questions. The interview thing is great, but I've run out of people to interview. I had a whole bunch of people who said they're just too busy during the summer and it's too early in the morning for them. So I'm trying to figure out how to time shift it. So that we can keep doing that because I think people really enjoyed it. And I'm constantly looking for new ideas, new ways of doing things. So I challenge you, man. I am challenging you. Do something new. Surprise everybody. Anyway, back to you. KJ5IRQ, this is KC2PKG. KJ5IRQ, this is KJ5IRQ. And you can like me, I would say, especially in the quietness around local regions. We have a local coordinator on the left. Hello. I've never been on a radio, which has not been very loud. I've never been truly active, active. So I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I've never been truly active, active. Now there's a guy on there I get on on. He used to get on and talk to a lot. But he recently got his general license and got on the scene with my advantage and some other things that I'm not into. And at the moment, I don't get to talk to him as much. There's another little old man on there. He's a retired veterinarian. He's a really cool guy. But he also runs a ranch. We all don't understand ranches in Texas. Back in the 80s, we had a sort of land of the cow, 200 to 1,000 acres, making the land of hundreds and thousands of cows. I think he said he had around 150 acres, 100 acres, something like that. And it's similar to going to town. And he runs a town on the Pat. But he's a 70-something-year-old man, if I remember right. And he's out there working that ranch every day. So he just doesn't have time for him radio. He jumps on in the middle of the day when he is speaking one of his kids to run up or something like that. And then once in a while, hundreds of thousands of years, his wife has already been down. He takes a camera also. The other guy that was on our repeater, he died. So in the summer, there's no activity on the local DHS repeaters at all. There is something called the North Texas Central Connection. I believe that was in the NCTC.net. I believe it's a website. It's really cool. It's about 40-ish or so we've been as linked up all across Texas. Huge network. It's fairly active. The problem is that it's not going to interfere with people. I mean, they give you a hard time or hear your signals off. They give you a hard time about a lot of things. And then you're going to turn me off. So I don't get on there. It's really sad, too bad, because there's a lot of good people that I hear talking on there. And maybe I'll get back on it again one day. But I don't get to read as much. I stick with all story and echo and run out. That seems to be where I need to be. And so that's where I'm focusing my focus on. You and that stuff, it's really good. I'm going to take a real quick break. One hour over, Archie goes through an extended Friday. He is to firstly and slope. Entering a radio, I guess you can call it 3.0, and see who passes you the point on that. I mean, guys and girls, we have a dying hobby. It's up to us to keep it alive. If we don't change at the time, the radio's not going to occur, seeing more than what it is. And so that concerns me. I really enjoy it, like I was telling my wife yesterday, recording on your radio. It's the hobby that you can never even get bored in. If you're bored and you're also in a low-end, well, pick up an agent for it. Get you a general license and try that out. So yeah, I want to pressure her to hold some of this. I don't want it to be as big as that. I want it to be engaging. I want it to be something that everybody would like to be a part of. What's really good was people who want to purge the low-end radio. I'm trying to say that tactfully. Because I know there's a lot of people who want to keep things just the way it is, and that's pretty acceptable. I'm just not one of them. So with that, I'm going to send it to TK and 4LDF. Miss D, you're a little bit less new than I am. So I'm just interested to hear your take. Why don't you come to the car, what do you get out of it? Yeah, that. So the mic is yours. This is K and 4LDF. This is D. Josh, I'm going to tell you. When I first came into him, I had a serious thing called mic fight. Every time I picked up the receiver, I would go into a cold sweat. So I tried very hard, and because that was a problem for me, I got my license in 2018. I just stopped, just gave me a headache, I just got sick, pop up tasers, just talking out to people. And then I picked it up again, and my area is really silent where I'm at. There is nothing. So I decided to go into Echo Link. When I first tried Echo Link, it wouldn't work for me. I couldn't get it for about two or three weeks, and they wouldn't have started working for me until I figured it out. I was able to go into different rooms and nets. I downloaded a couple of schedules, and I started seeing interesting things. Let me reset, one moment. So then when I came into Do Drop In, I downloaded a schedule, and I really like learning from different places. I like to absorb, I like to learn things. I have an open mind. At least I believe I have an open mind. And I like different places' opinions, like Canada and England and different places, because that lets you understand where other people think about our country, our USA country. So by learning while other people think about you, and within ourselves. Within ourselves and this country is another thing. And I like the controversy, but what I do like about this specific here in Do Drop In is, it is still respectful if you have a controversial conversation here. You don't have derogatory expressions in here, which I appreciate, because if you come to that bullying and derogatory name calling and stuff like that, out probably would just not come anymore. That would not be my thing. But so far you guys have kept it respectful and common courtesy, which is very good. I appreciate that. So for me it's very critical for people to have respect, for me to stay in that particular room. And learning about other countries and where we stand today, different people's opinions really does matter. Because if you have an open mind you can learn something out of another person's opinion. And you can keep on the manure just by learning by other people's experiences too, I think. Well, I'm Miss Kay and for LBS, this is Dee. Back to Josh."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-09T05:31:22+00:00","id":15393,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15392,"text":" Rick, I think you timed out. Well, I just passed it over. So I don't know where I timed out at. But if you tell me where I timed out at, then I think I might have timed out right when I was passing it over. Yeah, I think you were. I think that's exactly what you were doing. All right, well, that's good. And yes, you did tell us about the spider. And I was going to ask you about that, too. I forgot when I was just seeing how the bike was coming along. But hopefully your wife can find something, a helmet, that will work. You know, I don't know if it's a comfort issue or if it's just she doesn't want her hair messed up or what. But hopefully they can get that worked out for her. Because, like, you're right. I mean, she should have to have a helmet on, you know, from a safety standpoint. All right, let's go down to George now, KB0MAI. Good morning to you, sir. How are you this Saturday morning? Have you got any big weekend plans? And if you do, let us know. Over to you. KB0MAI, good morning. Oh, no real plans. I waited for daylight to come out here. I'm cutting the grass right now, trying to get it all done. There's supposed to be a lot of storms over the next four or five days. And I just don't like the grass too high. It's hard to cut when it gets too high. I have that problem. I left it behind my fence and not cut. And it got up to, you know, quite high. It was like probably about six inches. I have electric a lot more. And it does well, but six inches of really, really dense grass, it took a while. So I don't want to repeat that again. So I'm just trying to get this all done before the rain start. I've been feeling drops already, a little bit here and a little bit there. So if I get that done, or so early in the morning, it would be kind of nice. Reset. And then taking my grand-friend for, he's doing competition swimming. He's five years old. And we're putting him in a class, like my daughter did, that teaches a little more about swimming. And he just does laps back and forth into different types of strokes and stuff like that. He's doing real well. I mean, just about more than a month ago, I was trying to get him to lay on his back. And he's doing really well. He's in the pool. And he just didn't want anything to do with it. And yesterday, I was sent a video of him going clear length, one full lap, doing the backstroke. I was amazed. I mean, he's come so far so quick. But this is kind of a thing where they test out all the kids. And the kids that do the best get to go to the competitions and have fun doing that. We try certain sports with him. We try basketball. And he's going to try football this year, and soccer, baseball. And this one, he seems well-suited for. He seems like he's getting it real quick. Maybe that's his talent. He'll be an Olympic swimmer or something like that when he gets older. I don't know. But it's going to be an easy weekend. He's going. I have no plans for other than that. Maybe a meal or two. That's it. Back to deck control, KB0MAI. KB0MAI, KM1X. Now, I don't know. I'm just talking out my rear here. But as far as sports are concerned, I would think swimming would be one of the less expensive sports. You don't have a lot of equipment that you got to buy. I don't know. Like with hockey, you got all that equipment and you got to pay for ice time. I suppose you got to pay maybe for pool time. I'm not sure. But I would think that, yes, as far as sports are going, swimming is going to be one of the cheaper ones. So I would encourage something like that. I would think that that would be one of the more physical sports, too, as far as developing muscles and strength and everything. I could just never. I love swimming. I love being in the water. But the whole swimming of laps and things and the whole breathing underwater and tilting your head. I don't know how people can do that. I really don't. Especially when they're going as hard as they are. You got to breathe. And I don't know how people can do that. And I don't know how they're able to do it. I could never. I was always sucking in water and choking. It was nasty. But yeah, swimming is, I think, a damn good way to go. All right. We are at the bottom of the list. So why don't we take a call for check-ins? Anyone, anywhere that would like an opportunity to get in on the net. This is your chance. Come forward with your call sign now. This is KN4LDF. This is D. This is Repeater Station MEC-3, November, Quebec, November. All Stars, O-3, FDX, located in Shelton, Washington. And 9LDF, November 9th, Oscar, Fucks, uniform. I liked talking about why I... It keeps bringing me back to this net. I've brought that out. I've talked about it lots of times before. I'm working on this device with a sticker motor in it. And I deployed key this morning. And it's the motor that came. It's one size too large. So now I'm going to have to order a third motor. And I'm trying to find the numbers. The problem to begin with is the motor I pulled out, the label was torn off the back. Or they didn't include the label on the back of the motor so I didn't know what number it was. So now I've ordered one too small and I've ordered one too large. So maybe third time will be a charge. They're not really that expensive. I'm not even going to return them. I may find what happened with the smaller one and the larger one is just clicking and heating up and it's not turning. Besides the connector plugging into the main gork was too big. So I cut the connector off the old one. The wire colors were the same and I plugged it in. Maybe the colors were different. I don't think so. I don't think that's the problem. But it still needs to be smaller so I'm trying to find out. I'm getting this 28BYJ-48 size and AEI is assisting me with finding the number for the one that's smaller. I got a read over this. It just came up. I don't think anybody realized last time I was on here about that broadcast, the five button. If I post that on my ex-account, I don't know how everybody would feel about 50 people listening in via Broadcastify. Because that's what the result would be. Non-amps listening to what we say in a morning that I posted that on. That was what I was trying to say. What I could do with this Broadcastify. We could get listeners right. And as I said, just because you can do something doesn't mean you shouldn't. Alright, AA-4-H-O, Rod Muir-Maflorn. Everybody have a nice weekend. I'll be here tomorrow. Back to Josh Connect Control, AA-4-H-O, Muir-Maflorn. AA-4-H-O, AJ-5, IRQ. Yeah, I've been really worried so much about people wanting to be on Broadcastify. First off, they're on public airways. We all are. So that right there indicates any sense of privacy I think anybody would expect with M-Radio. So I would not let that be the reason why I wouldn't do it. I would not let that factor in my decision making at all. We're all on public airways. Secondly, we're already being Broadcastified on the internet. Go to D-Drop-In.info, click on Gabby's awesome little button, and you can listen to it. Anybody can. I've seen it through friends and family already. So I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish here. But yeah, I wouldn't let people stop you from doing it because you're not sure they want to be heard over the airways. They're already being heard over the airways. But why not? I appreciate you. I hope you have a great Friday. We'll talk to you again tomorrow if everything aligns. We're going to move down to the gray KC-2, PK-2. I'm sure you'll probably get the bit to talk to us. Let me let Mike enjoy us. AJ-5, IRQ. I was never described more perfectly. First things first, you're doing a great job. This is a great net. You're going to be great at this. There's no doubt in my mind. You're just going to keep refining it until it gets better and better and better. So good for you. If you haven't gone to kk7nqn.net, you should. That tool is amazing. I was just reading through the transcription of our whole net. My mind is exploding. It's very, very cool. Also, at the same time, because I'm always doing 12 things when I should really only be doing one. I was talking to Gabby. Actually, she's on Discord. And she was saying, what if we put together a Cowabunga family page? Would people like to submit a picture and a blurb about themselves? And this isn't just we have it for net controls and stuff like that, but we don't have it for regular users. People who are putting in the time and are here every day would get on that in that sort of family section. So I'd like to hear from you guys. And Josh, you reinforced this. Do you think that's a good idea? Would you cooperate with that? Yes, Josh, I still need a picture of you. And also George. He may be listening. I actually think I might have a picture of George. But I'd rather use the one that you picked. So there you go. Anyway, guys, this all is a privilege and a pleasure. Thanks so much for doing the net, Josh. It really helps out. And think about that question. You want to be part of the Cowabunga family? Have your own page. Come on. Alright, 73, you guys have a great Friday and we'll be talking to you tomorrow. This is KC2PKG. This is KC2PKG. Thank you for the kind words, first and foremost. I appreciate them and your encouragement. Something I have learned about you is you are great at encouraging people and I appreciate you for that. I'm trying to make sure I tell people why I appreciate them. I don't know why. It just popped in my head to do so. So I'm learning that problem really for the day. Yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Hunter, man, if you're still listening, kk7nqn.net. I didn't know what I needed to do with my website. I mean, I've had some ideas of maybe writing or something. But I think you just kind of gave me the inspiration. I like your dashboard setup. I have also thought about doing something similar to that, maybe including ham, clock or ham dashboards. I don't know if you're familiar with them. Anybody on this net. You can find them on GitHub. Ham clock is a pretty cool HF ham radio software that you can put on and you can make a red server out of it and just look at it whenever you need to. I actually have it, I think, up on my, you know, hop a look to see if I still have it on my server or not. If not, I can easily throw it on there and show you all. I don't do HF, so it's not all that cool for me at the moment. But you can do HF. You may really like it. But yeah, man, this is awesome. So kudos to you. I was going to do some more about it when we get back down to you. You're right. Thanks for making me stop and type in kk7nqn.net. I had written it down. But you know how my work day is. I would have probably forgotten all about it. And it's not forgotten now. Moving on to D if she's still with us. KN4LDF, I think she is because she said she's working, she's at home for the week. Which is great for us because we get more time to get here and talk to us. 73 rounds, D. The mic is yours. This is KN4LDF. This is D. Wow, so much information. Now I am not into coding or anything like that. I'm a simple person. My brother on the other hand, we will call him a geek. He had a store in New York City and his business was booming before he passed away. And I did a little thing here and there. My interest was not in that. I did some things, but I was thinking pie and all this stuff that had to work my brain out. It was just too much for me. I just didn't want to do it. And then, you know, but it's for one, you know, everybody is individual. So I do like hearing about it though. Don't get me wrong. I just love it. You know, so, you know, I'm amazed because I always look at the page of do drop. And the long dedication of these people is just amazing. Like when Paul died, Bill took over. And you're talking about 16 years of just dedication of people trying to get together. And we had a discussion a couple of weeks ago about how people once or twice try to destroy, you know, you know, angry people, you know, and how you guys went through the bumps in the road and everything. And, you know, I really hope that you guys continue this. You know, it's very great to get a group of people. I mean, that's how scientists work. Scientists work the same way. They don't think about their skin or anything. They all get together and they try to figure it out and have opinions and share opinions and be respectful. You know, because if not, we wouldn't have, you know, up in the ship. And I forgot the name of that ship where our astronauts are in. I mean, you know, sometimes my mind don't work. Anyway, I want to thank 73s. I appreciate your time. And back to you, John. This is KN4LBS. Thank you for the 73s. And I always enjoy listening to you talk. I heard tell that you may be looking to try out net control. I'm looking forward to that. I think you would be pretty good at it. So with that, I say happy Friday to you. And we are going to move down my list. I'm moving my favorite page because we've had some people check in and check out. And we are down to Kilo Echo 2 calling Sierra Tango. I have him locked out. But he didn't necessarily say he was getting help so maybe he's back with us. So I want to try Pete from Upstate New York. Kilo Echo 2 calling Sierra Tango. Are you sure? The mic is yours."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-12T05:50:47+00:00","id":16349,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16348,"text":" I'll see you returning. Uh, yes, I'm just actually sitting out here reading some documentation for work. It's a nice, quiet, beautiful morning. Now that the rain's finished and the heat hasn't started yet, it's maybe 30 minutes, maybe an hour, of almost perfect weather in the middle of August. I don't think people fully understand how nice that really is. It's like a dead bit of racist out in the middle of nowhere. The gas is going to get hot again here in just a little bit, so I'm just going to get reading this stuff. I've got to learn a few things about something we want to try at work, so I'm going to do that today. I've got to get up there in the lovely inventory that the guy who was trapped in there just got available this week. So, uh, since I showed him how to do it, apparently I still don't know how. So I've got to do it in the lovely inventory, uh, being the refresher. So I've got to do that today, too, so that's probably going to take up the majority of that day. The talk on the radio is not bad. You never know. I don't have much to ask for, so I'm going to turn around and send you right back to you. KJ5, I argue back to the next consultant. This is for KJ5, you are a special member of the Latino member. All-star notes KJ2, located in the U.S. KJ5, get me. This is KN4LDF, this is D. You know, I was just looking at hurricane season, um, the, the, the glass. That tornado coming in, I think is, what is this name? Everything. You know, it's amazing when you're looking at this thing, like, compare the hurricane signs, because they make little dots of, I want to say, how big it is, that sucker is bigger than Florida, you know. So I'm like, my goodness, I hope it calms down before it comes and hits us. I don't need another Milton. We just, Milton, I can still hear it. We have hurricane, five windows on our home, and that Milton sounded like it was in my living room. It was that bad. And, um, my friend's home looked like a sardine can. Her roof came out like a sardine can. It was just terrible. And it wasn't Milton, because Milton brings in little tornadoes. And that's what got her home. It wasn't Milton. It was the little tornadoes that come, and that's what wiped down her home. So it's not just the hurricane, it's just other things that are inside, flooding and all this other stuff. Now you can see, we just found out that we have rodents. We just got someone out and he says they're busy in the area where my records are. So, I don't know. They might not have to buy. But, um, yeah, I still have them. We have the 78s. Very few 45s. Um, but for some reason I was going to transfer them into a SD. I bought a special equipment about five years ago to transfer them. Can anybody out for a K-9-9-9-9-9-9-9? And the question of D is,TTF for K-9-9-9-9-9-9-9. P1 WR. Heh, heh, he got a hat, Peter. In the 40s. Russell, morning all. It's a beautiful day here. Can we get another hot one? In the 40s today. Um, or somebody's had a... Just want to say good morning there, Russell. Uh, don't know what the question was on the phone. I didn't understand why you sit here for the question, but... Well, just keep me on the list there, Russell. I'll stick around. BEEP. I was thinking I should know you had it, but I don't know how to prevent it. Can anybody out for a get on the cop-out next to me? Can anybody out? Okay, can anybody in that case? And the question of D is, do you have records? Do you have what you put on your record for it? Uh, okay. 9-9-9-9-9. BEEP. You have records. I think that's what Russell's trying to say there. Records. Music. Vinyl. LPs. Albums. We go one to the UKZ. Good morning, Russell. BEEP. I guess I dare dare. When you said what to do with my CD, yeah, I was thinking, I ain't getting no good for knowing what to do with it. But after all the time that I do love it more, I clean the whole thing. All around the top and the bottom is important. I'll handle the power button. Go ahead, Russell. BEEP. That's awesome. That's awesome. I'm glad, man. I'm glad because I know that was being a pain in the ass for you, so I'm glad you got that worked out, man, for sure. And, uh, I'm with the Caribbean. Where these cats is shedding worse than ever. I'm finding these little, little kumbulins all around the house with, like, a black cat fur. And I've got two black cats, so I'm not sure which one it is. It's shedding. Whether it's the one with white on her or if it's the all black one. I know, but, yeah, just looking out the window there. I thought it was a bus. You know, what it was was a weird noise. We just passed my house. I was trying to figure out what it was, but it, uh, turned out it was a bus, man. Hope everybody's having a good morning. I'm not awake all that long yet. But I plan on staying here for the rest of the day. And, uh, great to hear everybody out here. Good morning to everybody that's on board this morning. Hope everybody's having a good morning. Uh, nice here. Other than the fires. My God, let me reset here. BEEP. So, you know, I had a little nap yesterday because, uh, I didn't sleep much the night before because I slept most of the day the day before. And, um, turns out I got this alert on my phone last night, the emergency alert system. And we've got massive wildfires burning just on the outskirts of town, uh, about seven miles from here as crow flies. And, um, they had, uh, an evacuation order last night. They had to evacuate hundreds of homes because the fires are very, very close. And, uh, you know, for a safety precaution, uh, they had to evacuate. I didn't even know there was a fire near town. That's how out of touch with local news I am. It takes an emergency alert on my phone to let me know that the forest is burning just on the edge of town. So, tell me what, uh, that tells you about me. Out of touch. Out of touch. P-O-1, you, KZ. Back to you, Russell. BEEP. Oh, I'm still there. Oh, I'm still, uh, she, uh, featured, uh, something I got. And there's a box. And you'll know why it is, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, hard for a search. Uh, I could pay more value. I know it's more value. Back to you. BEEP. You sent me a picture of something the other day and it had the word help on the little screen. On it, it was white. The box was white, I think. BEEP. Hey, yeah, okay, well, uh, it's, uh, uh, I can't think of it. It's a thing. Well, I got the picture. It goes around my neck. That's the best thing from Paul Dan, KZ. They call the murderer, or he just sent that back to you. BEEP. Ah, an emergency alert system. I got you. That's a good idea, man. Uh, especially if you're prone to falling, that's for sure. In my case, my watch does that. If I fall or anything, it'll detect it and it'll call 911 automatically. I don't have to do anything. And, uh, never had to use it. Never had to use that feature. But it's good to have it, uh, just in case. You know, because you never know. I mean, anyone could, uh, trip or pass out or anything. It's always good to know you got help. Just, uh, a little bit of way there. Back over to you. I'm feeling you, KZ. BEEP. Yeah, I don't know what I want to use, but I got AV on the 7th floor. It's a month off the 7th. I have to get pregnant and get a cake. Get a cake, come on. That's what happens when we eat. She eats her girl and took the pasta. Alright. And then I had to get the best of it. She said, ain't nothing like shit. And I had to do that. She may not want to get on the car, but I guess you're free enough. Okay, sign in that case. And across the D.A. you have witnessed that face on your underwear. Okay, sign in that case. Can you get back to me D? This is KN4LBM. This is D, I'm still here. I did talk about the records, but I also want to talk about what happened to me yesterday. Yeah, this is drama, what happened yesterday. I think drama was just people talking about reading people's minds. I told you about a friend I had a couple years back, and we're still friends with her. This is such a coincidence. About how we, you know, how messed up she was. And how we still had friends with her spouse. So we picked him up a couple of days ago from the airport, and he was a little erratic and he had a serious rash. So we picked him up from the airport, and you know, my husband spent like six hours with him because he wanted to talk and he was talking. Then we took him home, and then the next morning, early in the morning, guess who calls? Hold on, let me reset, hold on. Um, she called. She called my husband on her husband's phone, so when his name came up, when the phone came into my husband's cell phone. And he didn't know who it was, he just knew it was not his friend, it was a female. And she identified herself, she goes, oh, he's crazy, where's it going to take him to be committed? And she hangs up the phone. And I previously continued to live here when he was boarding his home, he needed a place to live, so he stayed with us. He gave me his daughter's phone number and his lawyer's phone number for an emergency. So technically, I'm on the phone with his daughter, I'm saying listen, people are going balanced for medicine, they might have crash, he has a rash, it might be an effective medication, but you know, incorrectly, it's not exactly the best way of doing things for your father because he doesn't really need that. So it comes up to be that his wife says something different, his wife, his daughter said, we're taking him to the emergency room to get evaluated. Because she didn't say there was no police, then I knew that he was not being bigger as he was going to the emergency room, but in my mind, I'm like thinking how evil can someone be? And then you see people are friend of mine and I just have her really close to me and it's like wow, I can't believe how evil, I'm still shaking about yesterday's events. But anyway, I'm letting it go. This is Dee. Man, when I came to Florida about 20 years ago from New York, and one thing I used to love going to was, before we went up this bridge, we went through the side. And on the side, there was a bunch of rows of trees along the bay. So the water will come up under the trees. I don't know if I can give you a picture of this. But what you can do is, what we did is, in between the trees there was an opening. Usually the opening was good enough to drive your truck in between. And there would be a little water, little oasis, and you would put your chairs up and you have your little private oasis with your car there, and you could enjoy the day. But things have changed since 20 years. We have a bacteria problem, algae, and that's because the pollution entwines with our bay at certain points of the day or whatever. You have to keep an eye out to how high and low it is. So it eats your, if you've got your foot in, you know, in the water, you're swimming in, getting skin-eating bacteria, you know, there's a chance. So with that, I stopped going to that area, but it was very beautiful, very beautiful. There's probably places all over the United States where there's just such beauty in it. But, you know, you gotta be careful. Like, I don't go to the beach anymore. We had, oh, let me drop for a second. One time I read a couple years back in St. Petersburg, the college kids came in and they buried their friend in the sand out of fun, you know. But when he went back, apparently a dog must have pooped in the area they buried him in, and the dog had some kind of worm or something. So worm went into the bottom of this kid's foot and started crawling all over his body, and then he got a couple of them in his body, and they had to somehow kill the parasite. So, you know, when I heard that news, you could probably look it up at YouTube, it was a little gross to me, so now I don't even walk on the sand. So, anyway, but I think there's a lot of beauty still out there. There's places in Florida that is so, we have a lot of preserves and places you can go to camping, but, you know, you have to be a little careful because climate and disease can be a problem, so you have to be careful. You know, if a million dollars of literary fell on my lap, I'm going to tell you what I would do with it. I would make, I would just make, buy a couple of acres of land and there's a guy that did an ecosystem city. A city sustained solely by an ecosystem. He used rainwater to furnish. It's just, I mean, out of this world, it's self-sustained by natural things. His chickens, garden, everything he needs. And I would make a couple of acres to sustain itself to the people that would live there, which is, I would open it up to the homeless because there's so many homeless people. And that would be something I would do with five million, is try to help those that are underprivileged. But, you know, five million seems like a lot, but I don't know. I don't know. You know, you have to, I guess, a debt. I can't imagine that kind of money because I, I don't know. Anyway, back to you, Russell. This is K and 4 ODF. This is T. Well, what I would do with half of it, I would keep it from ragging in my lap, like you said. And that half would go to set use for the little kids next time you catch it. It's been a long time since I talked to you. I haven't been on the driving for a while. And what was the question, what would I do if I had $500, is that what the question was? Yeah, I think we would pay every five pounds of dark. What would you do with it? Well, I would buy my kids, I would buy all my kids a house and I would buy myself a new boat and pay off everything. Pay off all my credit cards, pay off everything and probably still have a lot of money left over. I don't think everything is going to happen. I am going to get some money soon, I hope, because I was in a big car accident on May 22. I had a collision. There was a guy going the wrong way and he collided. I tried to avoid it but I didn't move in time. It's a total mess. You're being messed up all my risks. I'm not going to get anywhere near that. I may get enough money to pay my SUV off and my end is rough and maybe a little bit of money. But $5 million, I would buy all my kids a house. Russell, nice to hear you out there. He also gets to eat breakfast at school. And we get him dressed and get him all ready with mom and anyhow it's different than how I went to school. You know, we used to get up, get up, get dressed, go to school and that was it. So we're all doing it a little bit different with him trying to make sure he's in a good mood. I'll tell you why. Yesterday he came home and they told me you and I have him sing a song. I was like, I saw him, okay. And I get home, he gets home to my house after school and he always comes over and he gets a good hour or so to play Minecraft if he does good in school. And I have a Minecraft server set up probably at one fee and a hill so we both get on it and play together. Keep in mind he's a little over four years old. But anyhow, so he gets to come home yesterday and he knows how to spell the color green. G-R-E-E-N. And there's a little song to it. You want to talk about the most adorable thing. You sound like yourself, man. You sound like you're really drained. That's too bad, dude. Hopefully you get to feeling better, man. It's done worse than being sick and just dragged out and generally not feeling well. It just sucks. It really does. I don't often get sick, man, but when I do, oh, buddy, it tends to run me over. Like a solid flu or something like that, or a little man, or even a head cold. I guess I'm a bit of a wuss. I don't like to be sick. I need someone to take care of me when I'm sick, and I don't have someone to take care of me, so it sucks. Yes, they do. We'll talk to you in the next go-around. We're going to T-NEX, KN4LDF. I woke up and gained gratitude, and I normally started, someone gave me some yams, and I'm cooking them already. I can't wait to eat some yams. And medication can be a problem. So I was very stubborn. I didn't realize that when the medication did not make me feel well to call my doctor, I thought I could force my body to accept whatever the doctor gave me, and I landed in the hospital once or twice, taking medication that did not agree with my body. So I, for now, warn always, when something's going wrong, I call up my doctor, I leave them a message. If I can't get through, I say, listen, I don't feel right. And they usually call me back, especially when I don't feel good and it's because of reaction of a medication, they usually call me back pretty quickly. One time I landed in a hospital, I forgot what it was called. It was a name search or something. I forgot what it's called. And it can be serious when you have an effect on a medicine. So I landed in the hospital one time because of it. Anyway, today, we're under 90 right now, so I'm happy. And the whole women shouldn't be ham operators, or even certain women shouldn't be ham operators. You know, it's a hobby. I can't hear the hobby. We try to get as many people out here as possible. Yeah, some people are sensitive. But it's, uh, and they may not fit in on every day. They definitely belong out here. I mean, that's how people are participating. But this bed here is not like most other beds but even having said that, when you're attacked or spoken of personally, you know, that can be off-putting. And then, you know, they don't like it. You know, they stop coming out. And we've had that happen in the past. You know, shouldn't be able to dislike the net, so they left. Not a big deal. And a lot of people in the biggie got a big deal. But it's something that's happened in the past that's going to happen in the future, just because this bed tends to go where no nets have gone before. So I don't think it's going to be a disparaging eating group of individuals personally. You know, it's just, like I said, this bed is for everybody. And those people that find that they don't like it, they leave and push along. And every woman will come back and say hi every now and then if they want to. And we just move on. So that we might as well just move on and let them have their lives, I suppose, somewhere. I believe this hobby may have started out as a mostly male-dominated hobby, and it may still be. But women are welcome and are a welcome addition to the hobby. I'm not a man for this and that. So, I'm sure that my family is on it. We enjoy having everybody out here. You know what? When I come in here, especially to this net, because I go to other nets, you know, I go to prayer and then I go to different things, but this one is a little different and there's a lot of controversy in here. When I come in here though, I don't look for our differences. I look for things that we both can, you know, kind of relate to. So even though a person can bring up a subject that is really debatable and constantly do it, I have to look, if we do that, if we eliminate one person, the next person, then there's no audience. You can't just eliminate people because of their controversy. But I understand it could be a real problem because if you don't eliminate the person, people just start dropping off, you know. There's other places you can go that you don't have to listen to something that is so off the charts. Problem, you know, the only thing I can say is, I hear you guys when you get on about having consideration and with the controversy things, and if you're going to say I have respect. But some people don't hear that. Some people refuse. So, refuse to hear the rules because they really believe the rules are made to be broken and that's not the case. It shouldn't be the case anywhere because if that was the case, every place will be chaos. Everywhere will be just chaos. So, I really believe that you guys are really doing a great job in here having controversy because that's what brings people here is the controversy. It's the, you know, let's see who's going to have a Duke fight. But it has to be respectful, you know. So, it's a hard thing to look at, right? It really is. So, I'm kind of neutral in this because me, I gave my analogy about it, about if you had a team and so forth. And I don't know who was here that heard my analogy, but that's how I feel about it. Okay, I got it down to where I'm a fair scripter. Not great, not perfect, I'm better than a lot. And I'm not bored with it. I mean, I can't even think of things to script anymore. It's like, man, what do I want to do today? And see, I get a dedicated time three days a week to work on skill building for work. It's something my boss implemented. Spend an hour a day, three days a week, an hour to an hour and a half, and work on your skills. The idea behind that is, like scripting for an example. Now because I can script, we don't have to pay another company to come in and edit and write scripts and stuff like that. Not that we'd have to at this point anyhow. I mean, don't get me wrong, we're a big Internet company and lots of people can script a lot better than me. However, they're not familiar with the software that I'm very familiar with. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but it makes sense to me. And you are correct. This is my ham club. I mean, we may be stretched all over the world at some point, but if I had a ham club here, it'd be like you guys. People I just chat with every day or so, ask for help, talk about personal things sometimes, become friends. Imagine that. Become friends. So, yeah, great. Always, always, always got good things to say. So many decisions to make, but I will get them made and inform everybody what I've been on doing. We're going to move down to, oh, I hope she's still with us, and B, KN4LDF. It's 8.30 almost my time, so I hope you're still with us, but I'll pass it to you just in case."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-08T06:12:26+00:00","id":34993,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":34992,"text":" No, I don't do projects. I would do something like that. But at this point I'm trying to get together something for Christmas. But that's my project and usually I come through with it. I don't put it down. But as to building something or hobbies or anything like that, I don't have any projects. If I got older, I just let it go.
