There's not a right or a wrong answer unless your opinions matter that much I think there's a right and a wrong answer, but that's because my opinions and morality take place So there has to be a right or a wrong answer So yeah, those are the questions So with that, if anybody would like to join the caribunga net, it is 817 in Texas, now what's your call-front? And I'll tell you who I got. We got W0GL, thank you for checking in, Alan. You were one and done. Darryl VL1UKZ, I can't wait to hear why you were up all night. MD KN4LBF and Josh KJ5IRQ and Ron AA4HO. What's gonna do for us? Like, you didn't get any sleep at all last night? Your sleep schedule must have really messed up. What's going on with you? This is KC2PKG, over to you, VL1UKZ. Well, it all started yesterday afternoon. Bodies started showing up left, right, and center at my neighbor's house next door. So I figured it was his wake. And so I dropped by to extend my sympathies and whatnot to his sisters and mom and stepfather and stuff. And I ended up sticking around over there for a few hours, just talking to everybody. I was running into people that I hadn't seen in, Jesus, decades, man. Anyway, I ran into a friend of mine, and I hadn't seen her since, Jesus, since a year or two after high school, maybe. And we got to talking for most of the evening. And then she dropped over here, and we were having a chat and smoking a few and watching TV and a few other things and whatnot. And just ended up up till like the middle of, well, seven o'clock this morning, I think she went home, something like that. So I was just up all night, man. And so yeah, I'll end up catching a few hours later this afternoon or something like that. I ain't got much on the go today. So it was no big deal. But yeah, I figured, man, there was bodies. There was like 50 or 60 people there, I'd say, easily. And bodies were... Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh, Chuck. Man, oh man, he's a smart guy, that Chuck. Yeah, so ended up hanging out all night, and here we are. Then I got on the radio about an hour and a half ago, and I'd just been chatting with George and Brian and Ron jumped in there just toward the end. So yeah, I'd just been awake all night, man. You know, nothing wrong catastrophically or anything like that. So yeah, back over to you, man. V01, UKZ, this is KC2PKG. Well, that's a nice story for a change. In the meantime, we're going to go to the KN4LBF. J, what have you repaired or restored that you think you did a pretty good job on? It's over to you, D. This is KC2PKG. This is KN4LBF. This is D. It was something very simple, but I am proud of it. When my parents died, they had this Asian 3D face made of porcelain. It's about two feet long and one feet wide. And I'm looking at it. And through the years, it's about 75 years old right now, it looked like it needed a little uplift. So the figure on top hat is a female, and it had a crown on top of her head. And I repainted the crown gold and just her sleeve gold. And the retouch was amazing. It just made an amazing improvement how it looked. And I'm just looking at it right now. And I'm pretty proud of it. Back to you, Gray. This is KN4LBF. KN4LBF. This is KC2PKG. Porcelain. Have you repaired or restored porcelain? That sounds very hard. It really does. And the fact that you painted it and you're proud of it, that's great. That is great news. Josh, PJ5IRQ, what's something that you either repaired or restored that you're particularly proud of the job you did? This is KC2PKG. Open to you, Josh. PJ5IRQ. KC2PKG. This is KJ5 on cue. Something I would have had that I'm particularly proud of, oh, gosh, I remodeled a house before. That was pretty cool. I'd say I remodeled houses around here. And the houses are houses, I should especially clarify that. I've repaired a lot of things. KitchenAid. My wife loves the KitchenAid mixer. And all year after we bought our, I think it was our second one, it went out like the first one. I was getting really frustrated with it. So I did some digging around. And it's the brushings. I don't know why I didn't think about that with the first one. I fell a fool because I threw the first one away for like $20. I got to replace the brushings and kept the first one. I replaced the KitchenAid with some good brushings. And gosh, it's been years. And it's still working just fine. She uses it all the time. That was personally a good fix. KitchenAid mixes, you know the cream and galakop, at least that's what I was really concerned. There ain't no point in paying more money than that for something that does the same thing. Let's see. I do have a project coming up. As soon as it starts cooling off into the fall, rather I want to be outside all day every day. We have an old family bench. Joseph E. Ford built this bench. Not that y'all would know him, but he happened to be one of the first people in the Middle of Wales to open the store. And she's got to give you an idea how old this bench is. I have an actual picture of him in this last sitting on it. It is 1888. It's over the rock. It was my grandparents, of course. It got passed down to me. And it's an old, bad shape. I mean, it is a bad shape. But we're going to look into repairing it. I want to keep it as original as possible with as much wood as possible. So I may end up using clear epoxy or something to fill in some voids. But the idea is to bring it back to a shade of a swirly void. I can't tell you how many seeds of the fence people in my family have sat in that bench over the years. I mean, if some of them could tell a story, wouldn't you love to sit and have that word pour out the stories since, at least in my family since the late 1880s? Man, talk about an explosion of lighting ideas. Anyhow, yeah, so that's coming up. That bench, I'm really excited about it. The only thing I don't know is who gets it after me. I've got two boys and a daughter. And it's always stayed with somebody with a last name before it. So I'm sure it will stay with my boys. And I sure it won. And so I'm going to see who ends up at the house in a safe place for it. And that's probably who will get it. Sorry, I had to reset for a second. I was running out of time. Anyhow, that's it. I'll send it back to you, KJ5. I'll help you back to KG2PKG. KJ5 IRQ, this is KG2PKG. A bench, a family bench. That sounds cool. That sounds cool. I'd love to see a picture of that. KI7ODD, I see you in the text box. You want to give it a shot now? Tell us how your weekend was. Maybe tell us about something you restored or repaired that you're particularly proud of. Over to you, KI7ODD. This is KG2PKG. This is better now. This is KI7ODD. KI2KC2PKG. I actually am thinking, let me think. Oh, yeah. I restored stuff before that. My squeaky here is my fan. It just squeaks, squeaks, squeaks. So don't worry about that. I should have read this text thing. Ah, never again. All right, I hope my audio's better. I'm sorry about earlier. It was my rig. I need a new one. I need a new rig. Gosh darn it. All right. What I did yesterday was I was thinking about beading, playing with my, getting my crafting done. I did some sewing last weekend, but this weekend I am going to go on and be at the Idaho State Convention for ham radio this year, which is going to be awesome. I hope I get the 7800 icon. I hope I get it. Just hopefully I can get it this time. I don't, I don't. I can't, I couldn't even sleep last night. Sorry about that interference earlier. All right, have a good day guys and gals. Okay, this is KI 7 ODD, Murray in Spokane, Washington. KI 7 ODD, I'm Murray. That's pretty good. That's pretty good. That, your audio sounded fine. That time it was perfect going through there. So I've got you on the list. We'll be hitting you again. And Steve, N0BF, I've got you on the list too. We're just going to keep working down the way we're doing it. DA 4 HO. Ron, is there something that you repaired that you are particularly proud of? So what do you do? A4 HO, this is KC 2. Yeah, you know, you might remember me talking about, you know, when I redid the bathroom and the shower, I put caulking and you're supposed to put silicone on it, and I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I'm supposed to put silicone. And then I, you know, when it started leaking underneath, I had to get all of that out and redo it and put silicone in there. But that's really nice. You know, I got granite top on the, you know, the sink, new sink and toilet, completely new shower. And it's really nice. I did the water heater and the copper pipe I had left over, I made myself a UHF antenna that I use with my All Star Network. Whenever I'm on my mobile rig or HT and I'm on All Star, the signal goes through the antenna before you hear me on here if I was to do that. And I got one of those nano-VNA's to make sure, you know, it was resonant at the right frequency. That I needed it at. All kinds of things. The vehicle I drive now is new. The one before that, even though this was an upgrade, it had all of the features because I put in a lot of aftermarket stuff. The GPS I added and a whole mess of things. The side rails to step into it. Of that I do, but I didn't have to do that with this last vehicle I just bought. You know, because it came with it all. But I did install and put the automatic garage door opener in. And that I'm pretty proud of. It works really good. Now I just drive up to the house and I don't even go out the front door anymore when I take the car. You know, it's in and out through the garage. The door opens, pull the car in, door goes down, come in through the garage now. If I think about it, there's a lot of stuff. Except for the stuff, you know, I don't have the tools for it. I have to pay somebody to do it. AA4HO, Ron Nirma, Florida, back to you, Gray and Nick. AA4HO, this is KC2PKG. And it is all the something with the house. You know, I lived in a house in Morristown for 30 years. And I can't tell you how many weekends I spent either under the car or working on the house or cleaning up that yard. It was just endless, endless. I'm so glad to be out of that. Because I don't like any of that stuff. As it turns out, it's kind of fun to create things. It's kind of fun to repair places. But when you're doing it in all your free time, I built a car there. An Aztec 7 from FiberFab, which goes on a Volkswagen chassis. And that would best two years of my life. I'm never going to get back. I went to sleep, because it's fiberglass, I went to sleep crunchy every night. It was just terrible. My wife hated it. Alright, KN6UYZ. What have you repaired or restored that you're particularly proud of? Okay, John, this is KC2PKG. Over to you. KN6UYZ, thanks so much for having me as usual. Yeah, you know, in 1970 I bought a Corvette. And, you know, come around 1974 or 5, the car needed a great job. And so I decided to take care of it myself. And jacked up each tire individually at the house. And decided I'd grab a screwdriver and place it between the calipers and the rotors and pry the brakes apart so I could insert a new pad on all four wheels. Well, that worked great. Good job. Padded myself on the back. I took off in that car and next thing I know, I know, the brakes were pushing all the way to the floor. I had to have that car towed back to the dealership and it cost me $1500 in 1975 to have that brake job done properly. Apparently you're supposed to relieve the pressure in the system, in the brake fluid system because I didn't do that before pulling everything apart and losing the, and I blew the seals and all the pistons. And this is a dual caliper system. And it was very expensive. I don't know what $1500 in today's money might be, but it was a problem. So with the exception of not being proud about my brake job, yeah, that's one of my better jobs. Back in that K and 6 UYZ. K and 6 UYZ. Boy, that brought back memories. This is KC2, PKG. I used to always do my own brakes and all of that stuff. And what it leads to is you're driving down the highway two states away from your house and you're thinking to yourself, did I put that spring back in? In the left rear tire? Did I put that spring in? Those were my thoughts after working on my car almost every single time. I was like, I don't remember. And of course, the first brake takes three hours. And the second one takes two hours. Third one, you know, takes about an hour and a half and the fourth one is over so fast you can't remember if you put the spring in or not. It just gets better and better as you go around. Alright, AA-4HI. Chuck, what have you restored or repaired that you are particularly proud of? It's over to you Chuck, AA-4HI. This is KC2, PKG. This is repeater station key low. We had some heads up and some chairs and last night I had to figure that out. And it took a long time. A lot of winter to get on the fingers. It's just about all done. And I want to do it again now. I can understand why people charge so much to do it. You know, time and of course it's just too easy to work. But, um, you have to wear your guns, you know. It just takes a while to do things. Yeah, it is. Anything you're rushing through sometimes it's just not going to be the way you expected it. So, um, anyway, same with the old antennas I like to try out, to build. I mean, you just have to think about it, give it a shot. If not, repurpose it. But, uh, the chairs I think are the best thing where you're wrong. So, what I've done in handling them, they took a long time. They done, throughout the summer just working on them. You know, when she was out. So, uh, anyway, that would be it. Back on to you, AA4-HI. AA4-HI, this is KC2-PKG, Wicker work. That's weaving, weaving with Wicker. That is a big job, especially if you've never done it before. Because you have to figure out what the pattern is. And then kind of trace it back. And a lot of those things, as I remember, the Wicker is fastened with a wooden peg. You know, it goes in, you put the Wicker in the hole and then you pound it in a little piece of wood to hold it there. Yours may work differently, but the ones that I worked on, that's what you had to do. And you had to get that peg out first. Um, it's not specialized, but it is trying. It's very trying, I think. MM0RKN, Gary, when you repaired or restored, you think you did a pretty good job on. It's KC2-PKG over to MM0RKN. MM0RKN returning. Well, Gary, very frequently, I have to repair and restore Lego figures that have broken various Lego models. Cabs, trucks, DAF, radar, all sorts. So quite good at fixing those when they've been knocked over or accidentally dropped. So frequently, do not a bad job of getting them back together. But on another note, I really enjoy restoring Kenny Oak furniture. One thing that I did was an ottoman, many years ago, not enough. But it was one of these ottomans that would store, you know, bed sheets and that could be at the end of the bed. And it was very old, and it seemed better days, but I actually managed to sand it all down, repainted it all, then put a nice kind of fabric, soft cushion on top, and managed to turn that into a sort of storage box come window seat. So that was one of my things that I was quite pleased about in the past. But recently, not so much time really to do a lot of repairing and restoring. I was going to put it in front of my son's PC. He said that I had to play one of his games, and I couldn't get it fixed, so I basically had to do a complete refresh of his laptop. I think he's overloaded it with too many DLCs. So we're going to go back to the start again. So yeah, I'm repairing that. Hopefully I'll do a good job. MM0RK in. Back to you there, Gray in the net. MM0RK in. This is KC2PKG. That's what I used to do for a living. Put people's workstations back together. After they just put something dumb on it, or they had a problem of some kind or another, reallocating memory, and all of that stuff. I'm glad I don't do that anymore. I really am. Alright. Bill, N9OFU, what have you repaired or restored? Do you think you did a pretty good job on it? Over to you, Bill. N9OFU. This is KC2PKG. Alright, I've been trying to think, trying to think, trying to think. And most of the things I'm coming up with is just, you know, things I've put together, you know, like furniture, you know. I love Ikea. Some of that's been pretty intricate when you get into some of these. I'm trying to think. Like the, well the cabinets, I don't know if the cabinets, but the drawers and stuff. Getting all that lined up properly and put together when it's got, you know, two or three different sections, an open section. I'm trying to remember, I know I've done my repairs or in battle. It always seems like something needs to be fixed, put together, or repaired at the house. But nothing really stands out that I really floated over. It's just, you know, it needs to be fixed to fix it. And that's all I can think of at this time. Sorry, I'm just not coming up with anything. Alright, N9OSU. Not to worry about it. KC2, PKG. Bringing that Ikea stuff together, I found one of the neatest tricks was to take the Allen wrench that they give you and saw it off, saw the curved part off, the bend in it off, and then put it in a drill or a driver. And then things go much faster. I'm turning that little Allen wrench. Alright, KM4QBC. You do a lot of repair and restoration, Jeff. Council, what's one project, or two if you want, that you're particularly proud of, that you really think you did a great job? It's over to you. KM4QBC. This is KC2, PKG. KC2, PKG, KM4QBC. Well, great. One thing that came to mind, my wife and I both worked on this, like Josh was talking. My grandpa's old house was a really neat place for me to hang out. I had a CB radio in there. That's before I got into ham radio. Anyway, long story short, the old house was just a plank-mored house, you know, back in the mountains. And a big tree fell right through the middle of it, so we salvaged what we could out of it. And I got all the windows and doors. And my wife and I, I still got a bunch of windows that are the way of the house when I first got them, but we sanded these window panes down into the old six panes. They got six panes in them, and you know, the glazing and all that. So we redid those and repainted them, and we put pictures of our family in there and hung them on the wall. So we're really proud of those, and it's really a special thing. Plus our Volkswagens. My son and I are working on an old bug now, so pretty proud of that one. That's you, Gray. That's a couple. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7 November-November. I thought you were led with the Volkswagens. Is that the one you're working on now? Is it the black bug? Back to you just for a second here. KN4QBC. The black one was actually done by somebody else, but you know, a Volkswagen's clear there's always something in there to work on. So, excuse me, we have done a little work on the motor, done a little work on the interior. Used to touch it up to make it a little better than it was, you know. So the next thing I'm going to do is just a little more work on the motor. I'm thinking I'm going to put a new carburetor on there and probably a new Kilo. So, just to make it a little sharper, because I'm going to start driving it to work this time of year, when hopefully it starts to cool down. And next month or so, after August anyway, I'll be driving it to work in the day and in the night. Can't drive that thing in the summertime, it's just so hot. You can drive it in the evening some, but it's just so hot here in the summer. It's hard to drive in that time of year, but it's fun at certain times, but when it gets up at about night and you're in that thing, you're like being in a sauna, I guess. You can't wear the work clothes down the road and be all sweaty and going into work there. Anyway, back to you, KN4QBC. KN4QBC, Volkswagen repair guy. It's good. I think Volkswagens are really cool. And I could kick myself for when I finally ended up in a car that I didn't have a Volkswagen van. I mean, they're the coolest. They really are. And I think back on that time I was thinking, oh man, I went out of the hotel room. Wherever I went, you know, I didn't need to sleep inside, I could sleep in a car. Which is a fun thing when you're a kid to do. Maybe not so much now. Any of YQJ, Ralph, are you out there? We're asking people what is a project that they've worked on where they restored or repaired something and they're particularly proud of it. Ralph, hey, YQJ, over to you."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-05T04:50:48+00:00","id":14214,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14213,"text":" Yeah, Russell, I'm sorry. JB9NSJWJ9E. I'm not K. This is KN4LBF. Kilo November 4 Lima Bravo Foxtrot. This is D. Go ahead, D. This is KN4LBF. This is D. Hello Russell and everybody else. I woke up this morning and gave gratitude to God to allow me to wake up. I'm going to tell you. I used to eat oysters not raw but cooked all the time. I used to go to this buffet, a Chinese buffet. They used to have fried oysters with ginger and scallions. It was delicious. It had a very mild heat to them and it was very plannable. I ate it like that since the pandemic. Most of the buffets have closed down. I haven't eaten since 2020 any oysters. But I did love that dish. That was one of my dishes. That was where I went to when I went into a buffet. Anyway, back to you, Russell. This is KN4LBF. Hi Roger. This is KN4LBF. This is KP9NIK. Anybody else want to get on the cow buffet just hang out? Call KP9NIK. The question I'll get you is do you like oysters? Call KP9NIK."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-06T05:55:14+00:00","id":14517,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14516,"text":" All right, Rosie, did you say you were a woman's owner? All right, number one, we'll keep you on the list right where you are then, right after. Now, every time I go back to the document, I can't type anything. We're going to go to D, K, N4, L, B, F. And I think Greg came up with a good question. We'll be rolling with this one for a little while. This is KN4LBF. This is D. Yeah, I'm still here, Russell. Yeah, I know nuclear reactors or nuclear generators or those, I forgot what they call them, but we get our electricity and all that stuff. I'm really caught in the middle of an idea of reopening and reactivating those things once they're closed and opening up the minefields and oil rigs and making America great again and independent, but the oil rigs are leaking into our sea. And even though they say we fixed it, we fixed it? Well, I don't know. And when it comes to mining, those people, the miners, even though they have a very good face mask, they were dying of lung cancer or whatever it was. And it's up to people, I guess. If they want to go to the mines, they go to the mines. If they want to go to the oil rigs, they're going to go do it. The generators, most of them are in the eastern, on the east side. Like in the Midwest, there's hardly no generators. I'm talking about nuclear. And a lot of people, babies are being born with cancer. Let me reset. And how do they get that cancer? People are dying of brain cancer. How do they get that cancer? My sister will die in a 54. People are dying of lung cancer. They say, oh, but I never smoke. How do they get that cancer? And, you know, even though a lot of people say, oh, whatever, they just push it away because they want the instant nuclear power so we can have the technology we have today. So there's a compromise. Ying yang. Compromise. You know, so I'm really in the middle with all of that because I, too, have technology. It's not as if I don't have it. I have it. So anyway, back to you, Russell. This is James for LDA. All-Star Note 6222. All right, then Kevin, VA3, KKY, the honor falls to you of deciding one question we're gonna ask. You know the routine. Go ahead. Throw out a number 1 to 6. Okay, well, what I can do is throw the Google dice, so something like Google, read the number from 1 to 6. Four. Four? So, question four. All right. The question is, let's see, suppose you were offered the power to read other people's minds. Would you take it? And why? So, in a way, it could be good, it could be bad. I mean, you could be learning a lot of stuff that you don't want to know, whether it's about you and this person or other things. But if you had the power to read people's minds or could have the power, would you take it? So, we'll turn that over to you, Kev. Well, I suppose that I would. It would probably make me even more judgmental on second-guessing people because I kind of already do that anyway. And I rely totally on, you know, inner monologue and internal wit, you know, to decide what I'm gonna do. And I think that's a good thing. I don't even quit, you know, to decide about people already, so it would just probably be more intense. I just honestly really don't really believe in such things because I'm thinking if anyone can read minds, well, then it's very simple to settle. Tell me tomorrow's LOMOMAX numbers. I don't even play. Tell me about a horse that I could cash in on. You know, give me something tangible. Give me something legible. That's the thing with sidekicks is oftentimes they don't have any credibility at all to me unless they're already doing well. It would be the first thing that you would do. And if anyone tells you that they're psychic, just go up to them and punch them right in the face, kick them right in the ribs, step on their feet, and they're lying to you already generically because they should have been out of the way. Nothing should have already told them that that was coming. They couldn't even see that coming. So I'd have to be so, or I think I would be heavily skeptical of a lot of those things. So even like my atheism, I think honestly I've come upon it in terms of a logical awakening, you know, more than anything else. And I don't have any particular ESPs or anything like that. It certainly never comes in handy. It's never saved me. I always learn about things way after the fact, right? Like, oh, my brother was sick, and I wouldn't have never known. So if it was ever something useful, it's never been revealed to me. But yeah, go punch a psychic. And they didn't see it coming. The most simplest thing. The gala experience, I guess. Okay, I'll pass it back to you, Kevin. VA3KKY. VA3KKY KM1X. Well, I'm talking more, less about reading into the future. I'm talking more like just knowing what people are thinking. So that, you know, if you're working with somebody and you can hear what they're thinking as they're thinking it, so that if they're looking at you and saying, oh, man, this guy's a jerk, you get that. I mean, yeah, it would be predicting the future if you knew that, okay, you would read the mind of the president who's planning on, you know, starting nuclear war or something like that. But it wouldn't be the, you know, what are the lottery numbers going to be, since that's supposed to be all random. Darryl has texted me, so he's back. So let's go back to Darryl. V01UKZ. Darryl, the question is, suppose you have the opportunity to have the power to read people's minds. Would you take it? So you'd have like ESP, and you would know who's thinking what when they're thinking it. Is that something that you'd want to have, or do you think it could be detrimental, because you've learned some things you really don't want to know. Over to you, Darryl. Well, first off, I wasn't gone very long, and Kevin was, I think, directly after me, so I must have just missed my turn by that much. I just ran to the bathroom. But it depends, Kevin. If it was something I could shut off, you know, to go to sleep at night or something like that, I'd be down for it, because you wouldn't want just everybody else's thoughts coming into your head constantly. You wouldn't want that. It would become too overpowering. I think so, anyway. I think it would become overpowering. But if you could turn it off, then great. Or if it was sensitive enough so you could tune it to just one person, or if it was sensitive enough that if you were, you know, in your own apartment, it wouldn't, you know, it wouldn't keep flooding into your mind, because I think that would be just catastrophic if you could constantly hear what everyone was thinking. And I'd have some fun with it, too. You know, like, if I heard someone say, I heard someone thinking, oh, that guy's a prick or something like that, I'd be like, oh, so that's how you feel, isn't it? And they'd be like, well, what you say? And I'd be like, man, I just heard what you said. And then they'd be like, oh, did I say that out loud, or did I say it in my mind? And I'd be like, no, you said it out loud, man. Like, what the hell? I think that would be fun. But, yeah, like, you know, if you were in, like, it depends on the range, too, I suppose, you know? Because you don't want, you know, voices coming in from all over the city. You know, you'd need a range to this power, I believe. Like, you know, 50 feet, maybe. You know, you don't need to know what people beyond 50 feet are doing. I think it would just be a waste. And plus, you'd get too much on your channel. You know what I mean? It would be way too overcrowded. There'd be way too many voices coming in all at once. I don't know that you could even, you know, detect what was going on if you had way too many voices on the same channel, everybody trying to talk at once. But, yeah, that's my answer to the question, Kevin. If it was more powerful, or sorry, if it had a limitation, and or if you could turn it off, that'd be my only stipulations. Back over to you, V01UKZ. V01UKZ-KM1X, I could see that. I was thinking at the time that as far as limitations, it would be more like, okay, you think of a person. So, you know, pick a person, Oprah Winfrey, and you would just immediately be able to tune in to whatever Oprah Winfrey was thinking about at that time. You know, you were, so that, you know, it wasn't like everybody, you could just turn it on and off. You know, I mean, let's face it, especially guys, we have this great ability of just turning our brains off, just really not thinking about anything or anyone. I mean, you know, obviously if you're thinking about, you know, putting a boat in the water, well, that, you know, that's not gonna, the boat doesn't have a brain, so it's not like you're gonna be reading the boat's mind. But if you're thinking about a person, well, then all of a sudden you could tap into whatever they were thinking. But, yeah, it's cool. I mean, this is a fun question, I think. It can go down many different avenues, so feel free to go with it where you want. VE1, W-I-N, Peter, you have the opportunity to read people's minds. Would you take it? Over to you. I'm taking it, Kevin. I'm driving and I'm mobile, so have a good day. I'm clear. Very good. Have a good day. Drive safe. KJ5, IRQ, Josh, you're next. Do you think you would like to have the opportunity to read people's minds? Over to you. AM1X, this is KJ5, IRQ. No, I don't hear like my own mind. I don't want to hear nothing, right? Nobody else's. Yeah, that's a scary thought. No, thank you. My wife did the same thing. She heard the question and she goes, oh, no, I would not want that. No, I think we're all hypocritical and we put on a forking in front of everybody over what's really inside of our minds. It can either be a very joyful or very scary place. And so that's a personal thing and I don't need to know that. I did want to ask you a question. I believe last Friday that you mentioned you played D&D and I know you're interested in that and thought maybe you could tell us more about that. Whatever. I mean, it doesn't have to be now or nothing. It can be a different net. I just wanted to mention it before I forgot it once again. All right. With that, I'm sending it back to KJ5, IRQ, to K and 1X. Yeah, Josh, I think you asked me that this last weekend, too. It's something that I had never played growing up. Again, it was, its heyday seemed to come about in the late 70s, early 80s. I knew people that did, but I wasn't one of them. And probably three or four years ago, it was a local game store that was going to have a session for people who've never played before. It was like an introductory session. And I asked this buddy of mine, I said, look, if you were up by any chance to ever have played D&D or had any interest in it, there's this thing going on. I'm thinking about going, but I'd rather not go alone. And the guy's like, oh, my God, I love that plate that I got up. My brother and I, we were playing. We'd get our friends and we'd be up all night. I'd love to get going. I mean, I opened a Pandora's box. And now this guy just can't get enough of it. I mean, we play every five or six weeks. He's the dungeon master. He spent all of his waking time just on this. He's recruited a bunch of other teachers at the school that he works at. Even in the summer, they get together on Tuesdays at a game store and they play. It's kind of interesting, but it depends. I mean, different people get into it at different levels. I'm not into it that much. I just assume keep it to once a month, to be honest with you. But it is an opportunity to get out and meet other people. It can be very complex. And again, my interest level is not at the point where I want to be that complex. It would depend. If you've got a game store nearby, check it out. See if they have anything. It's worth looking into if you've got just a little bit of an interest because you could go to one of these introductory things and say, yeah, this is for me. It isn't for me. You'll know probably after an hour or two. So, yeah, it's worth checking out. All right. AA4, H-O, Ron. We're talking about the power to read minds. If you had the opportunity to read people's minds, would you want it? Over to you, Ron. I think I would. Let's see. Orson Welles, he was good at having people think of a number, you know, between one and ten. And he would be able to tell them, you know, what the number was. He would be a high degree of accuracy. He would be right about it or think of an animal. He'd ask a few questions that come with a little effort. And the skills also have to be learned beforehand. I have a little interest in that and I've followed some of them. And there's some things I've picked up on, not a lot, because I never formally tried to learn how to know what somebody's thinking or if what they're saying is deceptive or not. You don't necessarily need a lie detector test. I don't know if that actually falls into the category exactly of what the question is. Yeah, I don't think we'll ever be able to read somebody's thoughts. I don't think that. Yeah, I probably enjoy that. I don't have nothing. Are you going to surprise me at this point? I've seen just about everything. So I could be wrong about that. But I've been desensitized from my past experiences that it wouldn't shock me more. Of course, maybe if there were a serial killer that could be horrible to have to unsee something that you read their mind that they had done. So I certainly would avoid somebody like that. Anyway. Yeah, there's a lot of skills out there in this people who talk about it a lot that I've listened to. All right. So that control. A4HOKM1X. You got to have, I think, a thick skin before you agree to take something like that on because it could easily be something that you regret. So you'd want to give it some thought before you jump right in. But thank you for that. And now we're going to try to see if Jeff is still there. Km4GBC. If you could have the ability to read people's minds, is that something you would want to take on? Would you like to have that ability? Or would you just assume? Keep the mystery. Over to you, Jeff. Hey, Kevin. Km4GBC. Yeah, I think I'd take that. That'd be pretty cool. But I have to admit, Kevin, I already partially have that. I can partially do that now. And if you could turn it on or turn it off, like Ron said, some people are so crazy you wouldn't want to get in their head. Anyway, I have to be able to read people's minds a little bit at my work. Usually they're lying, I can tell you that. Anyway, it's good to hear what went on here this morning. I saw the cartoon that Josh put on Facebook there just now. That's really cool. I like that. That is neat. So anyway, Kevin, back to you. I'm still here for now. Mission accomplished on that first guy. He's going to be with us until Monday morning. He's a keeper. Anyway, back to you, Kevin. Km4GBC. Good morning, everyone. Km4GBC, Km1X. Well, sounds like you've got someone to take care of for the next couple of days. How does that work? When they're in the jail, obviously you've got to feed them and all of that. Do you guys have a cook? How does that all work? Do you do takeout? When the dude gets out, do you send him a bill and they have to pay for the food that they had and stuff like that? How does that work, Jeff? Well, it varies in different sentences, different charges and pretrial. Anyway, it varies in different ways, Kevin. But as far as the Poon goes, they have a company that brings in the food. And that's, you know, it's a big company. It's a big deal. They do probably four or five jails in different counties right here where I'm at. So it's a big outfit. I used to, they used a local guy and he would do all the meals for the jail. He had like a catering company, but he would, you know, just do the basics for the jail. But he got a little too pricey for the county. And the county got this other group that was doing the jail, the two jails in the counties that were beside of us. So they bring them in in paper boxes. And they have these containers, you know, that are nice, but they're disposable. And they have regular food, hamburgers, hot dogs. Sometimes it may just be a sandwich with some side veggies. But they've got a schedule that they have to go by and have to meet. So many, you know, certain rules they've got to follow about the nutrition and so forth. But this fellow was a domestic. So he got a fight with his family in North Carolina. It's automatically a 48-hour hold if you get in a domestic disturbance. It was pretty bad. So anyway, he's staying with us till the 48 hours runs out, which will be 7 a.m. on Monday morning. And I put his coordinate on Monday too, so he'll be going to coordinate 30. So anyway, they've got these different things, different rules they've got to follow. And they have a doctor and a nurse that they can see. There is a charge for that, but it's only like $3 and $5. And if they can't afford it, they get up there to see them anyway. And they're on call. So the nurses are there every day. They give their medication. So they do the intake with the meds when they come in. So they're pretty thorough about it, food allergies and all that kind of stuff. But yeah, while they're in custody, they're the responsibility of the sheriff. So back to you, Kevin Camp, for what you've seen. This is Repeater Station Kilo Avenue. Very good. Yeah, that was interesting. I've always wondered how that worked, whether they had like a kitchen staff or what. Because all I could think of was back in the old, you know, Andy and Mayberry. How did they feed them? And so I'm glad you were able to answer that for me. All right, go ahead, KC2PKG, back to the question at hand, which is dealing with the ability to read people's minds. You've been presented with the opportunity to do that, but is that something you'd want to have? Is that too much power? Could it backfire? Would you take it if you had the chance to read people's minds? Over to you, Gray. K.M.1X, this is KC2PKG. Yeah, with the proviso that you can turn it off. I think that's a really, really good suggestion there. And it was somewhat directable. I've always had trouble working out what people are thinking. Some people can look at another person's body language or watch their faces and stuff like that and really get a good handle on what's going on. Are they accepting what you're saying? Are you believing me? That kind of thing. I can't do that. I don't have that. I look at people's faces and I see a mass of app expressions, little lightning things that go on in their faces and stuff like that. So I'm not really good at reading people. And I wish I was better at it. I really do. So yeah, I would take that. I would definitely take that. With the proviso students, you can turn it off. You can't just let it out with what everybody else is doing. And it's somewhat directable. Like I have to look at the person or something like that and I could do it. I think that would be cool. And if you could turn it off with one bullet, just don't do it. So back to you, K.M.1X. This is KC2PKG. KC2PKG, K.M.1X. Now I think we stumbled upon what could make for a good story, a novel or a movie or something about the person that gets this ability and then all of a sudden they're discovering that there could be some serious drawbacks because they can't shut it off or the limitations aren't what they thought they'd be. And suddenly it presents some problems and some conflict, which you need in a good story. So yeah, I think we're onto something here. And Daryl was right when he touched upon that. Alright, who else is next here? Ask Gray, we go to Rick. K9VFD. What do you think, Rick? You know your life. You know some people that you might want to be able to exercise this power on, this new power if you choose to take it. But is it something that you would want? Would you like to have the ability to read people's minds? Over to you, Rick. Alright, well before I answer that, you said you wanted to ask if I did anything to my bike or whatever. And I'm playing with it. I'm trying to learn all the electronics, the infotainment system, the carplay, all kinds of stuff. But, and then I, we went on a pretty nice ride last Saturday. We wound up going out to Peoria the long way and then we took the long way back and we put on like 200 miles that day. And I decided that I wanted my feet up a little bit. I also wanted the handlebars closer to me so I ordered floorboard risers and then I also ordered handlebar risers. And while I was at it, I ordered a couple LED accent lightings. One both for the front, just some white light trim to finish out the bike and you know, make it look cool. I'm thinking about adding some sequential turn signals but it's a pretty elaborate job. You have to pull the wheels off and the fenders off. There's a lot of work involved in doing it. So I'm holding on by that. That could be a winter project. But as far as the reading people's minds, I'm going to go on a tangent with that. Because my dad, he was in telecommunications for pretty much as long as I can remember. And back in the old days, he was selling business telephone systems. And then by the end of his career, now they're doing Ethernet and fiber networks. And most of the time the contractors that he worked for were in the same union I am. Their local 134 IBEW. So anyhow, one of the things that he would do back, I mean these days I don't know a lot of times they're IP phones and they would do the same thing. But especially in the car dealers. He would get a car dealer and part of the system that they needed was a way for audio surveillance. So basically the systems that he would put in would be able to, you could go to a master station or whatever and actually listen in on that telephone extension. So basically the car dealers would, you know, they're trying to make their deal. They know they're getting close but they're just not quite there. The salesman will go, you know what, why don't you and your wife think about this. And I'm just going to leave for a few minutes and you guys can discuss what's going on here. And that's when the sales manager goes in and listens to the conversation and they can hear what they're willing to do to make the deal. So that's my take on it. And so you can do it. You can read people's minds but you have to use electronics to make that happen. But as far as me having the ability to know what my wife is thinking, oh my God. Especially when I'm being a dick. You know, it's all the week man. I was just no good. You know, I told her, you know, I'm not Rick anymore. Just call me dick. And that was my way of saying sorry. But anyway, I don't know if I want that ability. And you know, maybe with all the, you know, with my project manager acting the way he is, I want to know really why he's doing what he's doing. I think what he's trying to do is speed up production. And it's a way to, you know, it slows it down at first but then it gets things going maybe. I don't know. But anyway, so count me out unless I could turn it on and off and only use it as a, you know, all of a sudden, okay this is on demand. Okay now I want to know what you're thinking. So anyway, back to neck control. K-9 PFD. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo. K-9 PFD, KM1X. Well I would think yeah, yeah, I mean I'm not married but when it comes to spouses, do you really want to know what's going on? I mean there are times where a spouse might be like what is going on? What is he thinking? What is she thinking? But at the same time, you might get scared by it when you find out. So I don't know that I would recommend using it on your spouse for sure. But that's interesting about the car thing. I mean that's eavesdropping if you ask me. Or wire tapping almost. But I suppose if it was legal, it was legal. So it would be interesting to see if that would work if they still do stuff like that today. Let's see, George, KB0, MAI. George we're talking about having the power to read people's minds. And we'll let you interpret that any way you want. But is that a power you think you'd like to have? Over to you George. KB0, MAI. You know that two car dealership thing, I believe that is true. They're going to take any advantage they can. And I can see them doing that. So that's why I want to go into car dealership. I don't say anything to my wife unless we go outside and talk out there. But it's been a while. It's been five years since I've been to a car dealership. I'm very stiff neck when I go to them. You ever watch that movie, Bruce Almighty? He thinks he can do better than God. So God gives him all his powers and he's trying out new things. And all of a sudden he's starting to hear people all over the place in his mind. It gets worse and worse and worse. He's trying to clean out his ears because he thinks he's hearing things. And come to find out, God tells him, well that's prayers. You're God, you have to have the prayers. And he says, well how do you stand it? And God says, well I'm used to it but you only pick it up, the prayers from 40th street to 1st street, New York City or something like that. So you just get a small sample because you've got to start answering these prayers or it's just going to get worse and worse and worse. So I just sent out a typewriter. I guess this is his way of answering the prayers. And he just goes on and on and on. No matter how fast he works he just can't answer all the prayers. So finally he just grants everybody everything. For some reason I keep thinking about that movie when we're talking about this stuff. But I would say myself, no I don't need it. I read people pretty good. Not so much if they're on the air but in person I can read them fairly decently. I prefer that over hearing every thought that goes through their mind. That would drive me nuts. Hey Hal, I got done with all my road work, or yard work. And I've got to take a shower and get ready to get to the pool for my grandson. So eat some breakfast and all that kind of good stuff. So I'm just going to call it quits for the day. Everybody have a wonderful weekend and I guess I'll see you on Monday. JB0MAI. JB0MAI. JB0MAI. KM1X. Well it sounds like you got your work out of the way and it's still bright and early so you've got the rest of the day to play. Congratulations. I'm in the midst of chopping up onions and peppers to go into my spaghetti sauce as we talk about the question. And once I get all the chopping and stuff done then it's just a matter of cooking. And that should be alright. So I'm hoping to have this done by 10.30 or so. And then I can start my playing on the weekend too. Uh, D. KN4. LBF. You've had some time to think about the question, D. And as George said, I mean it does kind of give you some godlike abilities I would think. But is that something you would want if you could? Over to you. This is KN4. LBF. Um, I don't think I would have to, uh, not be soft in order to have it but I would like to have it. And just for, you know, for instance, um, you know, yesterday I had a really good conversation with a friend of mine and she was saying that her best friend, one of her girlfriends died a month ago. And she's been hanging with a crowd in her community since she's been here two years. And she, they all got together in one apartment to go to the funeral. And one of the ladies that she was hanging with said this to another woman, says, oh you see how she is like, you know what I said or whatever. But she heard and she turned around and she said, are you guys talking behind my back? And, um, she told me yesterday she was really devastated because she felt like she wasted two years of her life hanging with people that she thought cared about her. And it was a lie. They just was talking bad things about her. And I would say what's going on through your mind. And not only in reference to friends, family, nephew, nieces, whatever cases, it's just to know who is dishonest and honest with you. Who is selfish? Who is keeping two, three years of your life, 30, 40 years? I mean, I would like to set boundaries. And yes, I would like to have that ability because people are just not honest at all. And, um, I had another instance. I had a friend, let me reset, just give me a second. I had a friend that I thought was a friend of mine. And, um, her husband was my husband's best friend. And then she started hanging out with me. She started inviting me places and stuff to come to find out after four years of being what I thought was my BFF. She just wants to be in the same household to watch her husband. She didn't give two crap about our friendship. I was like, how can that be? How can people use other people like that? So, um, I have to say, yeah, I would like to know what's in your mind and I can have boundaries for I can, um, you know, just, um, make sure that I don't know. I just say yes. Anyway, back to you, Kevin. This is K and 4 LBS. This is D. Kevin 4 LBS KM1X. I think we've all been there, D, where we thought we knew someone and come to find out, you know, we didn't. They weren't the people that we thought they were. Um, that they didn't necessarily, you know, put as much weight on relationship as we did. And so you're right. That is a good thing to be able to have the ability to kind of root out before you invest a great deal of time and energy of your life on a relationship where the other person think about that. Just like when you were dating, you know, just this person like me, I really like this person. Do they like me as much as I like them? And just that whole awkwardness of getting to know someone. If you had the ability to know how the other person felt, think of how much pain that would have saved. So you brought up a very good point, D. Alright, let's go down to Ben, VE3, FBX. You've heard a lot of different viewpoints, Ben. And so we'd love to know what you think now. If you had the ability to read people's minds, is that something that you would want to have? Over to you. VE3, FBX. No, definitely not. Like Dee was saying, yes, people may try to use you or not have the same feelings you do, but that might be a temporary thing. There's a lot of temporary thoughts that enter a mind. I also think there's a lot of dark thoughts and dark minds and I would want to get dragged into seeing all the dark thoughts that people have. Maybe short lasting, maybe a long lasting plan they're working on. I just don't think it would be a fun place to be. Back to you, Kevin. VE3, FBX, KM1X. Well, I like going back to what Dee said. It was a case of an individual that you thought much more of and you thought it was both ways, but it turned out not to be. We all have people in our lives that we kind of more or less put up with. And there may be someone that thinks, oh my gosh, this person is great and we're really good friends when in fact we're just tolerating them more than anything, trying to be polite. So it could get turned on us as well. But that's a good point. Alright, Bill. N9, OFU. What do you think? You had some time to think about this. Is this something that you would want to have the ability to do? Over to you. Alright, well I just read your mind. I knew I was next. So maybe I already have it. I've always thought that would be an interesting trait to have because then you could say more or say less based on what the other person was thinking. So you wouldn't get in trouble or you would know if you were getting somebody upset so you could shut your mouth and stop talking. But I think it would be more trouble than it would be worth. I do like the idea of being able to focus it so you wouldn't hear everything and then be able to turn it on and off. Because sometimes it's better not to know what the other person is thinking. Because like you said, there are times when I look at someone and I think to myself things that I wouldn't say out loud. And there's a reason for that. Because your body has a difference mechanism. And sometimes we make snap judgments that aren't in our best interest. And then after a little while you completely change your mind. So if someone just read your first thoughts, they'd be totally off the mark. So I think the way it is now is probably better. So I would have to go with no, I don't think I'd want to have that ability. Even now I tell myself, I'd want to know if someone was lying to me or not lying to me or something like that. But I think I'm probably better off without it. Alright, and I know if you're back to the cam 1X."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-08T06:29:19+00:00","id":15184,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15183,"text":" We lost you Josh. I think I signed out there. I am pretty sure I signed out there. Anyhow I'm back. The second bonus question is if you had a magic button to improve one part of your hand radio life what would it be? That magic button is AI. So don't think about the AI part but just think about it. If I could easily do something to improve my hand radio life what would it be? Let's talk about it if you don't mind together and see if there's something that AI could possibly do for you. With that I'm sending it up to AA4H01 in Marymoor Florida to mic his voice. Okay I remember the old saying about buttons you know that you're not sure what they'll do if you push them. Like watch this famous last words or I wonder what this would do. These are the famous last words. There's a whole list of them. You can look them up on Google. I'm looking at a button right now and I don't know if it should be pushed or not. This wasn't from AI this was something that I saw what I could do with this all-star bridge that's un-broadcasted by. That button if I pushed it you know I like posted on X. I don't know how it would work if all of a sudden there were 50 people listening that never heard of this before. Since my account exploded and I posted this a lot of people would see it and they could listen. I would put on there like a round table net of amateur radio operators covering wide range topics. On everyday between such and such feedback welcome in my messages. That I don't know if it would be a good idea and I wouldn't do that unless I think I'd let somebody else do it. I've had AI do coding for me. I was trying to get a video off X to send to somebody. There's videos on there sometimes that I thought would be nice to post on Discord or something. I thought everybody would be interested in it seeing. AI is a breakthrough technology. I don't want to get too far off topic here but it's a leader and it's helping a lot of industries. People that are investors look for breakthrough technologies that companies have because they end up posting higher earnings and sales. It's helping the economy. With that I pushed out to improve my air radio life. I don't know if you can do something. Should you do it? Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do something. That's all I had to say about that. I was interested in this broadcast. Whoever set it up I think it's a good idea. I think it could be promoted. That's not up to me and I wouldn't do it. I'd let somebody else who is in the management. I'm just a user here. Connecting all store notes and broadcast to one-way audio streams. Basically anybody in the world gets to hear it. I'll let Gray speak to that since I know that's in his website. The broadcast filing does work. In fact Gabby made a wonderful one-click button that will allow anybody to connect to it. You can share that I believe easily. You may not need to connect your notes to broadcast to five unless you're trying to connect your specific note rather than the count, bungalow, or the do drop in. It sounded like he was talking about camera and do drop in. In plain English you're just going to run an audio capture app on the computer and it's going to feed it into your broadcast file through a source client like IceCast and Shellcast. I actually know a lot about broadcast file and IceCast and Shellcast years ago. I was really digging into that video and stuff. The entire setup is really cool. Anyhow, it's not that hard to do. So don't be scared to do it if you're going to do your own notes. With that I will pass it over to KC2PKG and let him talk a little bit more about the broadcast file on the dodropin.info website. KC2PKG.com. They do a great job because they like to do a great job. I will say though, there were some comments that people were making about the individuals. It's a very mixed group of individuals and stuff like that. Air radio can be a very unfriendly place and I think we work hard to be welcoming and be friendly. That's important. That brings me onto my next topic which is a team sport. It's all the efforts of everybody on the cow-bung-a-net is what makes it what it is today. We had an issue, and I'll talk about it because we're allowed to, where somebody was getting bullied. It had gone on and gone on and gone on. I had no idea it was going on. It was happening at times when I'm not connected in the pre-net, on the sunday-net. Things like that. Just little snide comments. Things like this. But finally, the person just didn't want to hear it anymore. And they backed out of the net completely. And both sides backed out of the net because I haven't heard from the other one. The supposed perpetrator. I haven't heard from him since Monday, I don't think. So that's a disaster. These are both net controllers. We need net controllers. We need good ones who can draw people out and all that stuff. But I'll get onto your question there, Josh. While you were talking about that, I would love a button that looks up what somebody just said. I would love that. If somebody says something, whether you think it's true or false or whatever, but you hit the button and it goes, this is the skinny on what they just said. I would love that. That would be fantastic. But it made me think. I said, well, an AI could be net control. Couldn't it? I bet it could. I don't know how you would train it or go about doing it. But an AI net control. That would have been pretty wild. I think how easy it would be to set up nets. If you had an AI, that could be a net control. So with that thought, I put that in your thought, in your thinker. So the other thing about team effort, let me drop it for a second. All right. KC2PKG returning very, very briefly. It is a team effort. We all want to hear about anything untoward that's going on. If somebody is being rude, if they are biting back too hard, if they're bullying, that needs to be raised up. Don't be polite about that. This is one of the things that just should not happen on this net at all. It's one of our strengths. So not like anybody's going to get fired or banned or anything like that, but people need to know. And I wish I had known that this was kind of going on and it was serious. Serious enough to make somebody leave. So with that, I can pass it back to you. KK5IRQ, this is KC2PKG. KC2PKG, KJ5IRQ. That's the one thing about a cowabunga that I can say is we can talk about the hard things. And you're absolutely right, it's a disaster. Both are hamburger operators. Both are net controllers for this net. And I would like to think it's probably a misunderstanding that got way out of line. That's typically how these things happen. Again, adults at the table need to be able to sit down and talk it out. It takes a long while. It's been enough for both of you. It's not your interacting. So I appreciate you bringing that out to the forefront. I have got to do something else with my phone. I keep touching the first talk button and it turns me off. As I was saying though, those are the things that make this net great. We can talk about the things that hurt us. And as we should. People don't. I tell my wife all the time, if you don't communicate and tell me what I do to make you mad, how can I fix it? And I know I make her mad. She's done things and I don't like making her mad. So Bill has asked to join our team, our chat today, and I am going to join him right behind me. Because there's nobody in mind. Because he has not had a chance to talk today and it's been a while for me to talk to. And well, he's got to pay the bills. And to be honest, I don't want to make a break. So hopefully we'll have to teach who's next. And, uh, Greg, the AI Net Controller has been an idea in my head and on my chat for about two weeks now. I have an entire project dedicated to figuring out how to make something like that happen. I'm also with a valid concern about the FCC regulations that we need to look into to make sure that you can do something like that. I'm actually looking at it more towards the line of ADA assistance. Blind guys and girls could use AI to be the Net Controller and they can speak to it and have it control what they need it to control so they don't have to sit and touch it. Um, that's what I was thinking. But having it completely run in that, that's an idea. We should look at that together and that could be a lot of fun. Uh, great. Use purpose for Discord. You can set up a project in there and work on it together with other people. Okay. Well, we are going to move on to Visti KN4 LBF. It's a little after eight and I know she's using these around the eight, so I was trying to curve and get her in there to hope I didn't miss her. Uh, Visti, the mic is yours. This is Kay. Excuse me. This is Kay and 4LBF. This is Dee. I hope you can hear me. Um, I had to switch over to my cell because, um, my internet is down, which has been happening quite often this week. I think it's happening to everyone, which it really concerns me. Um, the magic button. So, um, like right now, when I went, when my, when my internet went down, I had to go into my cell phone and I had it in direct and I had to change it to relay. So I went like a button that when something happens on the phone that, that it doesn't, I would just press the button and it would just change the setting to accommodate to the correct way where I don't have to figure it out. Is that a lazy brain or what? That is a lazy brain. Anyway, but my concern is AI is great, but it needs a source. It needs WiFi, internet, it needs something. You could get it in a computer, I mean without a source, but, um, it works best with a source. Um, just like Alexa. Oh, she turned on. Oh, she's off. She's turning red when I, she's saying she's having trouble understanding. Anyway, um, but my concern is what we briefly discussed yesterday. Gray knows what I'm talking about. I think it's going to happen sooner than later. And, um, you know, that's just what I'm thinking about. But yeah, a button that will fix everything and, you know, to when something like that happens and you have to go in and figure out the settings and all that. Anyway, back to you, Josh. This is K and 4 LBS. And this week, um, I'm on, I'm on because I have to stay home for another week. And I do want to apologize about talking about my cat. Sorry, I didn't even think about it. Anyway, back to you, Josh. This is K and 4 LBS. Hello, this is Steve. Don't let my old jazz talk about cats. You'll make their old gray, both very unhappy, blind cats a lot. And, um, man, I just lost my mirror. I was about to say something and it disappeared. I hate it when it does that. Easy button. You're easy button. I, that is a beta my existence with that going. I never know if I'm able to connect through a proxy or through a relay. I don't do direct very much yet, but I usually keep with proxy or relay. And I've learned that if I keep a device connected via relay to the Echo Link conference, which I have an iPhone that I don't use. It's just an iPhone. There's no Wi-Fi. Now all I can get is Wi-Fi. And I usually keep that connected to my All Store Note. Um, and so I've realized that a couple of days, I keep that connected to Echo Link. But then I always have an access to the relay, which I think for some reason in my mind will expand it into proxy. I really don't understand it. I could utilize the magic button just to add to understand it better. But my focus is more on the All Store side rather than the Echo Link side. So I'm only calling it one of these most of the time because it's so dependable. Um, with that, we're going to turn the mic over to Leo. Leo, we've had a couple of questions other day. Well, we had one question other day and a cack on. Um, you being the owner, if you will, of the G-Drop In network and a big part of the cow's looking at what? I'm going to address the question a little bit for you, if you see. What do you get out of providing this net for everybody? And if people don't know this, the bill provides this net for everybody. He pays the bills. Um, there has been some talk about what we can do to help offset that if he's interested. Um, of course we don't force anything on the bill because he pays the bills. Um, and so the question of the day was what brings you to the cow bug in that whether it's every day or every couple of weeks, every couple of months, what brings you to the cow bug in that and why? And then the follow up question is if you have that magic button, I'm using my magic button, what would you use the fork to enhance your ham radio eye? So with that, I'll turn it over to you. Bill, this is KJ Time. I'll let you know. The mic is yours. Well, that's a lot of, that's a lot to hit a guy so early in the morning. Um, yeah, just, uh, well, I woke up, uh, I, I set my alarm for about, uh, 15 minutes after the net started because it's early in the morning here. My wife and I stayed up, we watched, uh, summer monsters with Bell Gibson and we watched, um, uh, first episode of Wednesday and actually they have four. So, uh, I imagine we're going to be watching, uh, another one tonight. Um, so that was a nice night, uh, somewhat relaxing, uh, watching the movies of my life. And, uh, now we're at the yard, uh, put the truck in the shop yesterday and I gotta go see if they fixed it or, uh, if it's still waiting to be fixed. Um, but that's, uh, what's going on here. I did talk to my mom. My mom took a fall earlier this week, uh, on Sunday. Uh, she took a fall, knocked out her tooth, uh, fractured both sides of her, uh, one of the bones in her arm. So she's at a friend's house for a couple of weeks, uh, getting taken care of, uh, stealing some good drugs, I'll tell you that. Uh, but, uh, because of the short time that I'm home, on my end of the student, she passed, uh, so that was good. Uh, so she's trying to get on the Walmart account, uh, so I might be seeing her up there. Hopefully she's home. Hopefully they got her a truck and she went home. Um, but we went out, we tried, uh, this Hawaiian place. My wife, uh, my wife, you know, she sent me this picture, she goes all up to this table. We went down to, uh, American furniture warehouse and, uh, just doesn't count like a side table. And she looked at it and, you know, uh, we ended up buying it. We brought it home. It's one of these ones you got to put together. This is Peter's Station, Loke 7, November, Quebec, November, All Star, Node 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. Uh, hopefully, because I don't, uh, sorry, I almost got run over by a truck. So he's, he taught me to go ahead. Uh, sorry about that. Alright, uh, let me go ahead and grab one so I can, uh, answer at least one of the questions, into the questions, um, before I time out. Alright, well, I'm one of those ones that have been out here on the New Jump In forever. Uh, I was back when, uh, Don, uh, KBRAD, uh, was, uh, head of the Breakfast Club net. And, uh, you know, as a truck driver, you know, it was hard getting connected with repeaters and, and doing stuff while I was driving. And, uh, when I came across the Do Drop In, I found out I could do it on my phone. Uh, it was, it was, uh, my Godson just gave me an opportunity to get out there and communicate with other hams, uh, from all over the world. Uh, and, uh, talk to them and, uh, this was real easy, you know, with a headset and a, uh, a phone. So I really, uh, enjoyed just coming out here and, and, and making friends. And I've been able to, uh, also, uh, stop and see some of these people while I was out over the road. Not as much anymore with this dedicated account. It's just a great place to, uh, come out and hang out because being an over-road truck driver, you don't get the opportunity to, uh, make a lot of friends. Uh, I mean, I've made, I've made some friends with, from students over the years. Um, but, you know, I'm only home, you know, two days a month, maybe four days a month. Um, so there's, and, uh, you know, work is always changing, especially when I was over the road, uh, with a dedicated account. You know, I've made some friends up there in Korean, but it's just, uh, uh, these are where my friends are. So, uh, you know, over the years with the different, uh, things that have happened, I've been able to, uh, uh, give back, hopefully a little bit to what I've gotten out of the group. And I'm, uh, happy to, uh, keep everything going here. Uh, because, uh, I know it's, uh, a, a place for, uh, some other people to, uh, come out and, uh, be with their friends. So, that's, uh, kind of what I get out of it. Uh, I get, I get my, my friends and I get, uh, well, more like family now. Um, and I get the opportunity to, uh, uh, communicate and be part of, part of, uh, uh, the community. But, over here at the shop, I gotta go find out. There's no place my truck's been moved, so, uh, I'm gonna go talk to them real quick. But go ahead and keep me on the list. Uh, I shall be here."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-09T05:44:35+00:00","id":15394,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15393,"text":" Alright, we picked up KN4LBF, DE3FBX, Ben and N90FU-Mayo. Good morning to all three of you. We're going to start out with the KN4LBF. Good morning, D. How are you today? And you still think you'll be able to host the net next Saturday morning? If not, let me know. No big deal either way. What are your plans for the weekend, D? This is KN4LBF. This is D. Right now I am just giving thanks to be able to wake up this morning, give my gratitude. And it's 90 here, which is, well, it's going to be 90, which is great because it was 97 and over over here. We had a lot of rain and thunderstorms last night and it dropped the humidity just a little bit, just enough to be able to go out and do a couple of things. And not much today because today is my day of rest. But tomorrow I'll think about stopping by my friend's house and giving her some really beautiful veggies we have here. Anyway, not much and yes, I am going to be here on the 16th at 730. Yes, I am. I am ready. Okay, well, back to you, Kevin. This is KN4LBF. This is D. D, no offense, but that's a little warm. So it's early in the morning. That's downright hot. I just, what is it now? It went up from 63 to 64 here. And I can handle that, but I don't know that I could handle those temps down there this early in the day. That's a bit much. It's funny how, it doesn't sound like I'm the only one on this net this morning, but the older I get, the less I like the heat and the less I like the cold. So maybe we're just becoming old crotchety people that don't like it too hot, don't like it too cold. I don't know. But thank you for joining us, D, and we'll look forward to hearing you next weekend at this time. And now we're going to go down the list to VE3FBX. Ben, good morning to you. How are you today? Have you got any weekend plans that you want to share? Over to you. VE3FBX. Good morning, Kevin and everybody else up in the morning having a coffee. Been up for a grand total of a half an hour. It's my day to sleep in. Having my coffee, checking the news. Plans for the weekend are going to be relaxed. It's going to be a hot one here. Going to get into rewiring my radio setup. Finally got all the bits and pieces I want to get in. So hopefully this weekend I can get everything up on the air. Raised up one end of my engine at halfway. Then managed to hit Europe finally. So hopefully tonight and maybe tomorrow night we'll get some contact out that way. Other than that, going to take it easy. Back to you, Kevin. VE3FBX KM1X. Do you mind, Ben, if I ask you what kind of end fed halfway you got? Did you make it or did you buy it? VE3FBX. Kevin, I got lazy. I bought it off Amazon. I was planning to make a fantail dipole and just ran out of time this spring. Hopefully over the winter I get a chance to build the fantail and get it up next year. I just wanted to get up in the air. I'm a new ham. Just got my license this spring. Been in electronics and radio since the early 80s when I was a teen and into the Air Force. So yeah, this is it. VE3FBX KM1X. I want to say it was Monday. I was all ready to make a purchase of one. I had fed halfway. I liked my other one but it broke about a month ago. So I have been off HF now for the last month. What I was going to do was buy two. I was going to have one that was going to be pointing to the east. So that one would hit Europe. Then I was going to have one that was going to be pointing towards the west. I saw what was sitting in my cart online and how much it was going to cost. I thought, do I really need two? Can I just get away with one? So then I dropped it back to one. They won't deliver to my post office box for whatever reason. I get that if you get a battery or something, there's no reason why this couldn't get it. They won't deliver to a PO box. So I was going to have it delivered to my parents house knowing that I was going to be up there on Sunday. I said, well it's too early. I don't want to have it get delivered on Wednesday or something and they're going to be running around. I want them to be home when it happens. So I figured I'd wait until later in the week knowing that I forgot all about it. So I still haven't made the order. Now I'm toying with going back to getting two. If I get two, all I'm going to do is put the one pointing east up now and then I will wait until the foliage drops before I put the one going west up. I'm also concerned that the tree I'm using for the west one is not far enough away. I think the wire is 130 feet long or something like that. I think the tree is only 80 feet away or 90 feet away. So there's still a lot of extra there and I don't know. So we'll see. It'll make for an interesting winter though for sure. Thank you Ben. Let us know how you like that too. Bill! And 9-0-F-U. Good morning to you sir. Welcome to the Calabunga net. How are you? Where are you? And what are your plans for today? So listen, over to you. Okay. How are you doing? I'm going to push the button and then I'm going to pop back up. And I'm like, oh wait, you're not done talking yet. But I'm at home. My last day at home. Well, last morning at home I should say. My student is waiting for me. I'm just wondering if my truck has been fixed or gone to the shop yet. I put my truck in the shop Thursday morning. I wanted them to just check out the repair job on the differential. So I asked for that. And I figured that was just quick and easy just to make sure it wasn't leaking. But then I had some antifreeze coming out. These two hoses or top holes on the radiator causing leakage. I wasn't losing much antifreeze. But it was making a little bit of a mess inside the engine compartment. So I put it in there for that. That was the main thing. But when I went in yesterday morning, it sat all Thursday. So they had a lot of trucks they were working on. And now I'm just waiting. I didn't go back last night. And as far as I can tell from my air tag in the truck, the truck is sitting in the same area that it was when I put it in. But they may have taken it out and put it back. I'll find out this morning. All Star Note 6222 located in Shelton, Washington. Yep, just had to read the message. Yeah, I'm not sure. Okay. I may have been mistaken. We're trying to figure out tomorrow's net. And I knew he was going to be out here. But with respect to my intention that she was going to be covering your net next week. So maybe that's what I was getting. Or maybe I'm confused. And she's not going to be out here tomorrow. So we'll get tomorrow figured out. If nothing else, I might be able to pick it up. So we'll see what happens. But yeah, beautiful morning. I may have one here. All right, been able to get a full night's sleep the last couple nights. That's helped out a lot with the muscle relaxing in the back. So my leg hasn't been giving me too much bother. Plus I've been wearing my knee brace. So that's kind of helped keep things straight on my leg. So we'll see if we can continue. Usually I have like a week where my students got driving as a solo student. So I'm able to get a good night's sleep every night for the first week before I go back into team driving. Last time didn't quite work out that way because my last student already had enough hours that we were able to run team pretty much from the beginning. So we're still working on that. But good to be out here and keep me on the list. This is N9OFU back to KM1X. And I know if you KM1X, we're glad to hear that your back is doing a little bit better. I know last Sunday I played pickleball. And Monday morning, I was kind of sore all over. But I noticed that my Achilles in my right foot was burning. And I thought it was just because the heel of my shoe was rubbing up against it and it was just creating a lot of friction from running around. But it wasn't going away. A couple of days ago, I kind of just Googled burning sensation and Achilles tendon and they said that it sounded like it was tendonitis. And that you gotta take it easy and that it's common with people that play tennis or basketball like once a week. It's like, well, that sounds familiar. So there are some stretching exercises that I'm doing. They seem to think it seems to be coming from tightness in the calf. So I'm trying to stretch that out because I don't want to screw up my Achilles and need surgery or something like that. That would be new fun whatsoever. So we're just kind of taking it easy. All right. We are at the bottom of the list. We'll take one more call for check ins and then we're going to try to answer some questions or a question. So anyone anywhere that wants to get on the net come forward with your call sign now."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T05:11:36+00:00","id":15725,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15724,"text":" I thought I'd make sure I got up early just in case you couldn't and there needed to be a filler. I know that Gray and Jordan are struggling to get some kind of, I guess, steady ping going on Sundays. Yeah, during Fridays. Fridays, you know, it's gonna be fun. I think I've substituted my Sunday net for the Friday net and I don't think a Friday then turning around during a Sunday would be that much fun for me. Yeah, so I spent most of the day yesterday really deep diving into reputable characters with AI. Of course, everything's done with prompting, but it isn't like I'm sitting here drawing out the character. In fact, I kind of gave Daryl some snippets of what it kind of takes to work on something like this. It was pretty in depth. I was really surprised in the level of complexity that's built into trying to make a repeatable character. You know, every AI engine, every time AI gets a prompt, it reasons it or decodes it, however you'd like to put it in your mind. So it can have a different result every time unless you're really, really careful about how you use the exact same base, is what I call it. So yeah, I started with just playing with the cartoon character and I used a henchman of mine. I have two henchmen if you don't know. I'm an animal person. I like little critters. So I got two henchmen. I got Fred and George, named after the brothers on Harry Potter, my wife's huge Harry Potter fan. So I took a few pictures of Fred and loaded them into AI and started developing a character. So that took a few hours to really flesh out the character. I probably did somewhere around 30 variations of just an image of dialing them and trying one style and not liking it, trying some color scheme and not liking it. I think I spent about 12 or 14 hours yesterday doing nothing but that. Of course it was 107 degrees in Texas and my wife and I had already decided we were doing nothing on Saturday. So it was just a day to be able to do that. I didn't hear back from you. I texted you the last video I sent you. I hope you took it in good sight. It was fun to make. So yeah, I can tell you more about it in my next story on KJ5. I'll get you back to bail in that control. Just real quick, as a reminder, that was the one with the joke. Is that correct? Yes, sir. The joke. By the way, my laptop, the joke was hilarious. It should have been even funnier after I made a video. Bye, Chief. Yep, not a joke for the open airways for sure. But that was a joke. I was going through reels and I heard that and I thought you'd get kicked out of that and send it to a few other people with a strong enough constitution that it wouldn't offend them. So yeah, that was funny. He kind of ended in a strange position at the end of the video there. And that was, it seemed like it had frozen on me. So it took me a couple of seconds just to realize that was how it ended. So if there were any criticisms, which there's not, that would be the only criticism is how it ended there. Because he started moving and then all of a sudden he froze. It would have been better if he had been standing up and ended with a clear picture of him. But yeah, that was cool. I had my call sign on there and everything. That was really nifty. Thank you. And with that, we're going to go back up to Canada to the E1WI and Peter. Good morning, Peter. Good to hear you out here. Hope everything's going good for you today. And why don't you tell us what you're doing. In my overview. Good morning, Bill. Morning, all. We're doing our eggs on the deck here. Very windy, which is nice. Nice and breathing. Good. And talking about my mom, she turned 74 today. It's her birthday today. So I'm not putting her in a home or anything. I live with her, right? So we kind of look after each other. So that's good. Yep, Kelsey turns 74 today. So we're going to go for dinner tonight. I bought her a red bouquet of flowers yesterday. And I bought her a card. And I bought her a lemon meringue pie yesterday. She loves lemon meringue pie. And I love lemon meringue pie. So I picked one up yesterday when I was little. So other than that, there's not too much going on. Just sitting on the deck here watching the, you know, just chilling. So back over to neck control. Good evening, Peter. And yeah, I mean, that's between you and Darryl. I mean, you both live right next to your parents. And you're able to, you know, be able to get a phone call or a text, you know, or a shout in your case. You're right there. You can help out. You can do this. You can do that. And, you know, be helpful and, you know, kind of take care of them. And if they're fall, you're right there. You can get there much quicker than an ambulance or someone who lives in another household around the block. And that's great. I mean, that's ideally that'd be a good situation. And I would love to be able to do that. But, you know, you know my job. You know, I'm lucky to get home, you know, once every three weeks. Sometimes it's four weeks. And we live about 58 miles from where my mom lives. So it's a little bit harder for us to do that. But she's got a lot of friends. And she's got her church group right there in Casa Grande. And if she moved in, if she came over here and moved in with us, I think that would be hard for her. And if she moved into my brother's place, I think that would really be hard. And I had to tell my brother last night that, you know, because he kept on pushing on the subject. And I kept telling him, you know, I'm going to go talk to her today. And, you know, we're going to, you know, I'm going to see how things are and talk to some other people. And it's not, you know, like she hasn't really been able to take care of herself. I put told this accident here. She has had to have someone come in to do physical therapy with her. But, you know, this is how she likes to live as far as I know. She doesn't say anything to the contrary. And I've asked her a couple times, but, you know, she likes the solitude. For the most part, she likes the peace and quiet and to hunt around. You know, when she gets to a point where she needs to have, you know, a full-time care, then we're thinking of something about my wife and I were thinking something more in love of assisted living where she could have her own apartment, you know, sort of what, I can't remember her name now, Missy. I kind of like what Missy's doing. You know, she's got her own apartment, but they make meals. And she has the people, the rest of the people in the community there. And she has help if she needs it. But with that, I will pass it over. Whoops, let me grab one. Almost timed that right. We got KN4LBF, Dee, and Dee will be in Met Control next Saturday, helping out Kevin Campbell and X. So looking forward to that, Dee. Sorry for mixing up the dates there, but I'm glad you're out here today. How are you doing this morning? This is KN4LBF. This is Dee. Hi, good morning, everyone. Like always, I woke up this morning and gave gratitude that I was about to wake up. I always have to say that. And, you know, I'm looking forward, excited, excited, yay! Everybody probably boos me. I'm going to see the messages, boo! No. Anyway, you know, I was listening to George about what he said about Sundays. I think that's a great idea. Everybody's sending him messages and stuff that he can coordinate the Sundays only, I guess is what he's talking about. I think having coordination for a day is really good. So the only thing I would suggest is at least once a week make a comment on the net and let everybody know that you're doing the schedule for Sundays and coordinate it so everybody knows and you can send emails out to everyone knowing monthly or whatever and they'll call you if they have to take out or whatever. But I think that's great, having someone coordinate that. I don't have much to do except I have a rodent in my attic and I can hear it and it's driving me crazy. Today is Sunday, you know how that goes, so I'm going to have someone go up there anyway. But I'm assuming it's a squirrel because that's all we have. We don't really have raccoons or other things that could get up there. At least I don't think so. I don't think we have any mice or anything. I think it's a squirrel that got in. And I've been telling my husband, you know, at least once a year we have to check the vents. And you know, husbands sometimes ignore their wives and I've been telling him we need to send him. So here we are. It woke me up this morning and was like, oh gosh, there's a rodent up there. Anyway, this is K&4 LBM, back to the net. No, no, no, no, we don't ignore our wives. We just have selective hearing. We hear what we want to hear and we don't hear what we don't want to hear. Yeah, yeah, it's a bad habit but I think it goes both ways. But more so on the husband's side because they get asked more questions. Or have to reply to more stuff. We're quiet folk. But sorry to hear about the rodents. Our house is fairly closed off in the attic so we're hoping that it will be a while. And we don't get a lot of mice in this desert area. And we've been luckily we haven't had the scorpions. We've had crickets, that's for sure, we've had crickets get into the house. And we're trying to think, flies, we get some flies in here. Maybe a mosquito every now and then. But living in the desert, not a lot. And we've been lucky we haven't had snakes. But we haven't had ants. We haven't had any in the house. But we've had some manhounds on the back. And we've got a pest guy that comes out and sprays on a regular basis. So luckily we've avoided most of those. And they're not the big black scorpions. They're kind of sand colored or almost transparent. But a couple houses down from us had a problem. And when we first moved in. But luckily we haven't seen any here. But thank you, Dee. And yep, looking forward to it. Don't sell yourself short. I'm sure you'll do fine. Everybody says they think you'd be great. And I am one of those people. So we'll catch you out here on Saturday. And now we have ZS6ZYM. John, are you listening to your wife? Dee would like to know. And I know if you're over to here, John."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T06:45:13+00:00","id":15753,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15752,"text":" Alright, I'm not hearing D, but I was reminded that I forgot Daryl, so I apologize. We'll cap Daryl and then we'll go back to D. So, uh, you know when you're kidding me. Go ahead. So you said the question was if you could go anywhere with ham radio or something? Go over your question again, Bill? I was just putting on some breakfast. Well, don't put it on. Cook it and eat it. Putting it on, that's kind of weird. Um, yeah, no, the question was if you could travel anywhere in time with a ham radio, where would you travel? And, uh, so you could listen to what's going on with you back in the past and listen to ham radio traffic in the past. Or would you go to the future and listen to what ham radio has to offer in the future? Go ahead. Well, I think I can stick around for a few years yet and find out what's going on in the future. But, uh, man, I'd like to go back to ham radio in the, probably the 70s, I'd say. Because everyone was so active back then. And, uh, you know, CB radio even was incredibly active back in the 70s. I wouldn't mind going back and having a listen to what was on the airwaves back then. And that's what I would like to do. But, uh, man, we got a nice day. I'm shafing up here. It's not really warm yet. It's 23 degrees. It's, you know, warm enough. But, um, it doesn't feel hot like outside like it did yesterday. But, um, what was I going to say? Oh, Josh mentioned the, uh, the deep search research. I was doing that on Gemini last night as well. But I had it researched myself. And it was a very long report, but it didn't give me much information. It told me how I wasn't listed in like a whole bunch of places that I had searched. And I thought maybe, you know, it should leave that stuff out. The things that I, were things where I wasn't mentioned. All I really found was my social media profiles, a little bit of my family tree, listed a bunch of my relatives, found some obituaries with people with my last name. Uh, but that was it. Never really found, uh, you know, anything about drop-in or ham radio or any of that stuff. You would have thought it would. Um, you know, pretty much searching the whole internet for, you know, your name or whatever. Um, so I thought it was pretty cool. But I didn't realize you could ask it to show you pictures of like your town back in the day. I wonder how many photos, archive photos there are of, uh, old St. John's. Um, because I'd like to check that out myself now that you got me thinking about it. I mean, I've seen some pictures, you know, back in the day, but not a whole big lot of them. And I'd love to see some, you know, uh, early 1920s Newfoundland or something or early 1900s Newfoundland. Because I bet things were quite different, uh, back then. I mean, back in the 1800s, back in 1891, um, St. John's almost burned to the ground. Um, it was a lot smaller over town. Let me reset. This is repeater station Kilo, Kilo, St. John's was a lot smaller over town, uh, back in 1891. And the majority of it, uh, burned to the ground, uh, for a big fire. It was, uh, CLV Armory fire, the downtown fire, the great fire. That's what they called it. I don't know what was so great about it, you know, if everything burned to the ground. But I know they mean great as in a reference of size. But, man, all the buildings were of course made of wood, you know, back then. And all connected together, like, you know, like big strings of buildings and houses and stuff. So you can imagine where those caught fire, the whole thing was going up like a tinder box. And that's exactly what happened. It, uh, was a little out of hand, I guess. And then 100 years later, exactly 100 years later, the downtown area caught fire again in, uh, 1991. And, uh, a bunch of buildings burned, um, in the downtown area that year too. But they weren't all connected together anymore and a lot of them were made of concrete. So the damage was mixed. But I know from all reports from the great fire of 1891, um, it was rough. You know, a lot of people were left homeless, a lot of businesses were burned down. And, uh, it was just a catastrophe. And, you know, firefighting equipment and stuff back then was a lot less than what they had in the fire of 1991. Uh, that was the CLB Armory fire at Churchlands Brigade. Um, they had a propane leak, I think is what they, let me reset again. I think it was what caused that one. Um, and once the propane tanks blew up, it was, uh, there was no stopping the fire. And I can't remember how many businesses got burned. It was like maybe 10 or 11 businesses up and down, uh, two sides of the street. So, yeah, it was a pretty bad fire. I'm going to do a deep search now on, uh, the history of St. John's back around the turn of the last century and see what it comes up with. Thanks for the idea on that one, Josh. And I'm going to tell it to include all archived photos, or any relevant archived photos that it can find. So, um, back over here, Bill. And I'll be here via one of you, Casey. All right, very good. Yep, didn't think about doing that, but it's given me some ideas for myself. So I'm going to have to check that out. So, thank you. Thanks, Josh. And, uh, with that, we will try for Dee again, see if she's still here. Uh, KN4LBF from N9OFU, if you're still here, it's your turn. This is KN4LBF. This is Dee. Yeah, I want to be here for the rest of the week. Um, I'm out for the week. I have to stay home. And, um, that's an interesting question, but I don't, um, I would want to go into the future, but not in, in, so I would say this, don't beat me up now. I would rather go into the future of South Korean technology because they have a cutting edge infrastructure when it comes to that. Yeah, for now, right now they do. Um, right now, and, and, and as an experience, you know, all my walkie talkies and whatever equipment I have, like my Baofeng and my Ye Su, they're not from here. That's for sure. And, um, any other equipment that I look at the tag, it's, it's that it's, you know, it is what it is, but yeah, I would, I would like to go to the future. And, and when it comes to like, um, like, um, Japan has, is well in advance when it comes to robotics. So yeah, I mean, you know, if things get rough or technology gets all messed up, we'll go back to Morse code, I guess. But I don't know, but that's my thing. I like the future. And this is K and four LBS. This is Steve back to the net. All right. So do you would like to go to the future of ham radio and see what's going to be available in the future? You know, if you go in the future and find out what's available, come back, you can make a killing. If you've got the know how to make that, make that in the money. Because, uh, you know, if I went into the future, I probably try to memorize a couple of the, uh, the lotto numbers and, uh, uh, changed my destiny. But, uh, at least she knew who was next. So when I called her, she, she stayed quiet. So I could go back and get her other. So, uh, thank you, D. And we'll catch on the 73 route. So let's go to E3 FBX from N9 of you. Go ahead, Ben. This is E3 FBX. I think I'd want to bounce back to the past and the seventies, eighties. Uh, time I would have liked to have been involved more in radio, um, was a young teen in the middle of nowhere. Didn't have access to much. Um, when I got into the Air Force, we were playing with older equipment. Uh, just being the Canadian military, we run old equipment. Um, I think it would be very interesting to get into the building and, uh, and I think the better time for amateur radio. Um, back to you. Go ahead, big event. And, uh, there's one for the past and, uh, check out and see what's going on. Yeah, that'd be another thing. If I could go back to the past and, and talk to myself, uh, when I was a kid and say, hey, uh, you're missing out. Get, get in on this ham radio thing. Learn Morse code. Cause this is the time that would be easier, uh, rather than trying to learn it when you're older. Uh, I think I would, uh, go back and, uh, get myself interested and, uh, make it happen. And with that, we're going to go to, uh, W a six ABC. Mike, you're up. And I know if you W a six ABC returning using a headset this time, hopefully it's a clear, I think this one's a good headset and, uh, yeah, I'm going to vote one for the future. I was around during the seventies, uh, during the CB radio craze. In fact, we had a CB radio club here in a Rockaway and a couple of us on the more nerdy side studied for our ham radio exams. And, uh, I got myself on my, my dad bought me a Halicrafters, uh, transceiver with relays that would lock up. So I get locked in transmit mode, have to hit it on the side rather than just spraying the relays, which is what I would do now. But, uh, yeah, that was a fun time. I got two SL cards from all over the world. Talk to people in Russia and just the thought of talking to somebody in Russia from, uh, from my bedroom as a kid was, uh, was amazing. But, um, I did all that. So, um, going to the future would be fine, except I'd have to participate in the future of technology because chances are if I go into the future with a radio that's current, I'm going to be able to do that. Chances are they're going to be using technologies that, um, are not developed yet. So, uh, I'd have to get myself a, a new radio, whatever they're using for communication in the future. And I think it would be fascinating. Yeah, Bill, I understand that, uh, going into the future, if you remember some lottery numbers or even the technology, you can make a killing, but, uh, yeah, you, you, you do that, then you affect the timeline. So the future is not going to be the future anymore. If you've watched all those science fiction things about delving into the past, as soon as you come back, if you use any of that knowledge that you've gotten from the future to affect your present, you're going to change the timeline. So the future won't, won't stay the same. In any case, yeah, I'm going to vote for the future. And I think it would be fascinating. I think it's an age thing too, if you've been around this earth for a while, you don't want to necessarily go back. You want to, you want to head for the future because you're not going to be around for the future. And, uh, you've already been around for the past and it was fun. The seventies and the eighties were fun for CB radio and amateur radio. Send it back to net. I don't know if this is last round or not, Bill. Uh, and I know if you W a six ABC back to net. Nope, not the last round. We'll go one more quick, uh, 73 round, uh, here. Once we get down to the bottom of the list and we're close to the bottom of the list. So, uh, uh, but yeah, uh, I, I was around during the CB stuff. My dad got into, uh, uh, all American react and our neighbor was a big in ham radio and, uh, or at least a CB radio and, uh, American react and things like that. But, uh, definitely, um, good, good times. I just, uh, uh, I didn't get as involved as I could have, and I, uh, um, uh, would like to go back and change that, but all right. Uh, Steve in zero VF, uh, you are up. This is not the final, uh, but if you got something more to add, uh, church."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T06:24:42+00:00","id":15752,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15751,"text":" and then we'll go to zero. And now I know what for you, TJ, fam, I okay. Did I miss around? I feel asleep. I just woke up, I woke up like a rat and George was talking about his crush. I don't know if I missed around or I don't know, I feel weird because I don't know, everyone felt like asleep, but I did today. You know, if I had to pick a time, I would pick 1907 and all else. Only because last night after I missed around I was down and working on Hammy, his little buddy. I wanted to try some more along my style and stuff. So I got on TryGPT and if you don't know, TryGPT has a function called deep search. You can put down a topic or a prompt and give it the tool to deep search. I'm sorry, I told you I just woke up. I had to give you the option to deep search as a tool and then they get really deep reports. So I gave it a pretty big task last night. I hope I didn't, maybe the day. But I had it researched and pulled historical photos and first hand I read the accounts of what downtown Mineral Wells looked like back around 1900 to 1910. And it's for a huge report, lots of pictures. And just for fun, before I decided to go to bed last night, I had it just real quickly worked with it and came up with just a real quick sentiment viewpoint. And how did craft I first press review what downtown Mineral Wells would have looked like in a realistic outfit, meaning like a movie. Or as if you were actually there looking around. Man, these videos are only eight seconds long. I mean, you don't get very long. You can't slice them together. I don't know how yet. I have to learn that because that's the only way you're gonna get longer videos of Amy. Anyhow, yeah, I think I picked that this morning just because that's what I chose last night to start with. I'm hoping to do this, maybe. And I mean, you know, these are the big towns. They've done Rome or London. I'm sure you can find that quick and easy. But I thought it would be real fascinating to get a first hand look, almost, sort of kind of time travel back in town to see what my town looked like back when my great-great-great grandfather was alive. Anyhow, just denoted me, I suppose. So there's your answer. And I'm really wondering if I missed in time jumps myself, chat is around. Uh-huh, KJ, bye-bye, if you'd like to like the tour. Yeah, you missed the one around, but that's, we figured you got tied up with something. A fan man is out there, and he calls his dudes and says, hey, I'm here to help you. So, but no worries. We got you in here on the third round, and everything is good. But now, we're going to KN4, LBF. If you want to answer the question, it's if you time travel with a ham radio, what time would you like to go to to listen to what was going on? If you got something else, you can go ahead and talk about that."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T04:42:39+00:00","id":15722,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15721,"text":" and we were pretty much doing every other weekend. And then she left and we had one weekend where there was nothing. And then I believe Josh took it that next Sunday. And then I took it and then, no, well, it doesn't really matter. I guess what my point is is that we've got to have a scheduled day for each person that wants to do the net. So maybe somebody needs to sit down. I tried to organize a little bit, but it did not work out the way I thought it was, because it was kind of out of the loop. But if we can have, OK, I do the first Sunday of the month, Josh does the second Sunday of the month, and whoever does the third. And I don't know how many net controllers we're going to have for this Sunday net. But if we can just figure that out, so I know what day I'm supposed to be here for my turn, I'd appreciate that. And I got a whole bunch of people on here. That's why I'm talking about it now. You got Darrell and you. And of course, there's Josh. And I know he's on the list. He's on the website. You and I, Josh, are on the website. We are popular now. Wow, famous. Yeah, we're famous. Anyways, back to that control. AP zero MAI. Yeah, Sunday is a black horse, because it wasn't a solid thing there. It just, if people showed up, they showed up. And if they didn't show up, it was always a come out. And they have a rag shoe. And then when they made it in the net, I'm like, OK. Well, I'm going to have to try to get out here on a more regular basis on a Sunday when I can. Usually, I'll take a Sunday and try to sleep in a little bit, just because I'm on the West Coast here. And it is 439 in the morning and 89 degrees. It's been warm. It wasn't as warm as the first day on the show. The first day on the show, it got up to like 114. And it's only been getting up to about 108 the last couple of days. But it's warm enough. And I went through that question, but I didn't call for more check-ins, because there may be people out here waiting to check in. So that's what I'm going to do now. So if you'd like to get a check-in on the Sunday edition of the cover Monday net, please come down with your call set. This is KN4LBF. This is D. A lot of people have a lot to say. So for you Bill N9OFU this is KC2BKG. BEEP Yep and my phone keeps cutting out. I'm walking over to the shop now to see the status of my truck. And hopefully it's done or it's in there getting fixed. So it will be done. And we'll get out of here. And yeah I'll be talking to Daryl some more. And yeah we'll get this all worked up. You know your basic thing was what should we do when we see this happening. And again you know it's in the text box. If you think it's an inappropriate screenshot, forward it to Daryl, myself, one of the net controllers. And we'll take a look at it and see what the deal is. And then, um, yeah that's where I'm going right now. Sorry just got a couple more things on my mind right now. So I'm going to go ahead and pass it back to you. I don't think this was a 70-tier round. So I'll keep listening. But I gotta go find out what's going on. N9OFU. BEEP N9OFU. This is the 73 round. But I think he did an admirable job. So I'm going to move on here to D. DM4LBF. What did you think D? And what are your final thoughts here? This is KC2PKG. BEEP This is KC2PKG. Thanks, Gray. My final thought is you guys are really doing a great job. You're dedicated. You've been here for 16 years. I mean really. You're doing something good. 16 years is a long time. And um, what I, what I, you know, I'm based, you know, there's not a lot of women in here. And what I'm saying is, even though he says, oh she's a woman, she might be emotional. Well I do not wear my emotions on top of my shoulder. Okay, so I'm able to go through some different opinions and stuff like that and different topics without, you know, sitting here and blowing my butt off. You know, and this is just not my personality. But what I'm saying is, you know, I feel the different opinions and topics and learning from other people's experience and journeys and all that is, it helps me. It opens my mind up for, you know, different things. You know, someone could say, oh, don't pick up that charcoal with my finger off. I said, oh right. Yeah, I'm not going to just do that without a tongue now. Right? So you learn from other people's experience. You don't have to burn your finger off. And, you know, I learned about technology in here. I think it was Josh and this other guy that was talking about the GBT5, the AI, you know, just different things. So yeah, I was trying to say in the message box, you know, it's, you know, some things you have to deal with, I mean, you just have to. It just smacks you in your face a couple times. You got to do something about it, you know. And, you know, well anyway, I want to say my 73s, you guys have wrapped it up. You guys are really dealing with it appropriately, I think. And I like the subject and thank you for being here. 73, back to you. This is KN4LBF. Have a great day, everyone. But there's also a blurb. Well, she has a solution for that. She can give you an ornamental photograph instead of a headshot or something like that. So consider if you want to do that and then I want to have you guys take a crack at writing the blurb that goes next to the picture because you like to tell people this is what this person is like. This is who they are and stuff like that, which I think makes the whole thing much more friendly. And we're also talking about putting in a big section, the Calabunga family, which is all the regular hems who get on here every day and somebody might want to look at that and go, oh, so that's what Alan looks like. Or Alan used to do what? You know, this kind of stuff. So but if you have an objection to that, you need to let us know because I don't want to do anything to make you crazy. These are VE1WIN. Final thoughts. Over to you, Peter. Very good. I like to get involved in this. I've had issues with the net before doing some awful things. But you know me. I think we really group. I would like to get in on this meeting. I'd like to be a part of. Yes. Yeah. He's driving. I got tired. Well, we're back in the house. There you go. It's temperature right now is 28 degrees Fahrenheit. So. So. I agree. That was awesome. Back to you. All right. VE1WIN. Casey to. I drive carefully. You got a long drive home after this. Take it easy. Have a nice lunch. Go get yourself a donair. That's what I would like. OK. WB9CSP. Chicago style pizza. Final thoughts from you, man. This is Casey to PKG."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-13T07:09:59+00:00","id":16637,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16636,"text":" Thank you sir, G.J. Pyle, are you returning? Yeah, I'm on it, sir. I've got a lot of good talking of it all. The major peak points, or pain points you should say, in all of our communities I would say. I don't think homelessness just touches the big cities. In fact, I know more than a fact that it does. I live in a community of about 14,000 people. It's pretty small in relation to most of the health I would say. We have homeless people here. I mean, it's a small community. I mean, literally, just about everybody knows just about everybody. I mean, we still have homelessness. Well, why? That's where I think, you know, our government and cities stay in federal. I'm going to throw them all at the government. And it doesn't matter which political side. It's universal. What our government tends to do is just build money at an issue. And these are the same strategies for cities in 100 years. It doesn't matter if they work or not. Somebody in the 1940s said this is how you work on homelessness, and that's what they do in 2025. And it fascinates me to no risk that our political world has shifted so much just in the past 10 years. I mean, Democrats and Republicans don't communicate, period. And they're always at war with each other, and they're really not serving the people anymore, either side. So we ask, why do we have homelessness? Who's the root cause? It has to be for any of that leadership. It has to be. I mean, it's been a ongoing thing forever. Now, we can't blame leadership for the problem of homelessness, but we can blame them for allowing it to get to how it is. Homelessness is just a default human characteristic. Humans from earlier were technically nomads. So, I mean, why do you think humans like to cancel once? They don't make us unless we're wired into our DNA. So people choose to be homeless, and some people don't choose to be homeless. The ones that choose to be homeless, you can't cure that. You can't, I can't, and the dang government sure can't. So what do you do? Not around my mind, but say, all right, look, we're messing up a homeless reserve. This is your area, this is your little block on my end. There you go. I'm going to take it real quick. And then you say, there you go. So, say how you'd like to live. But then somebody's going to say, well, you're restricting their rights. You're restricting their freedoms. Now you're making a live there. Okay, both sides have to give a little bit. There has to be some compromise. Did y'all know, and I wanted to post some real quick, real quick numbers here, and I did this earlier, before I started getting deep into my job, uh, dealing with the money that gets spent on homeless people. It blows my mind. So the core of mental homeless spending, on a federal level, the core part of the federal spending is approximately $4 billion with the B, a year. That's just the federal government planning and expansion as of fiscal year, so for the last year's data, because for that product this year, it was an additional $10.3 billion with the B dollars. Uh, they did. It went down to a COVID thing, which is another $10 billion. We will factor that into the yearly operating. State and local housing and community budgets operate as much as $65 billion on the problem of homelessness. $65 billion. I believe two-thirds of that comes from the federal government. Uh, these are numbers that I just pulled up quickly. Uh, local examples, Los Angeles spent $619 million, around $17,000 per homeless person. $17,000 per person. Denver spent $481 million. In between, for Denver's area, between $42,000 and $104,000 per person. I wish I made $104,000 a year. I mean, that's pretty bad for a homeless person to try to provide for them. Uh, and in California, just one county alone spent $83 million. Those are some astronomical numbers that are throwing at a situation that's not improving, that's getting worse. So, in my humble opinion, throw up the name playbook and let's start all over. Let's start with mental health, first and foremost, and providing basic needs. Yeah, they're homeless. You're not gonna get rid of homeless. Dang, spending as much money as this means. Spending on that and not getting any better? Something gotta change. Okay. Yeah, I kept this on a bit long, uh, because I think this is only my second or third time to talk to them. So, I wanted to make sure I got that all out there. I appreciate the time, and I'll be sending these to you all. Uh, keep in mind, how much money is being spent on the homeless? I'm not saying they're not deserving. That's not it at all. We're spending all that money, and it's getting worse. K.J. Fab, I offer you back the mechanism. I mean, how much would it cost to build several, uh, large buildings, and, you know, just single room buildings? You know, without one room, a little kitchenette to the side, you know, enough space for a bed, you know, a tiny little bathroom, you know, framed off in the corner. I mean, how much would it cost to build some units like that with several hundred apartments, or little square cube apartments, or tiny homes, or whatever inside of a building like that? You know, just to give these people a sense, especially the ones that don't want to get off the streets, you know, if they had a sense of home, a sense of a place where they could go, and, you know, at least live, or at least be out of the weather, or something like that, I mean, what would it actually cost, I wonder, to build? Buildings like that. You know, I'm guessing not billions and billions of dollars. You know, what, probably a couple of million per building? I'm not sure. See, I've never really looked into it. We've got a bit of a homeless problem here, too. And it's all since this mass immigration. I've got to say, that's what I blame it on, because Newfoundland never had a large damage problem. It never did. Since COVID, and the mass immigration that our previous commander in sleaze had, you know, Justin Trudeau, the mass immigration policies, now they've slowed that down here in Canada. They've changed around the immigration policies. It's not just an open door thing anymore. The thing is, all those people we've got here now that we didn't have homes for, to start with, our government really screwed over the local people, is who they screwed over, and I mean they taught. Because all these immigrants, when they came here, they were given something like 20,000 bucks, you know, to get their life started. And then they're given $2,000 a month for a couple of years or so many years or whatever to get situated. Man, I don't call in a couple thousand bucks a month, barely even close to that. It's more like $1,500 a month, if I'm lucky. And so yeah, I mean I survive on that. You know, granted I get good rent, you know, or decent rent compared to the going rate. I get about half of market value right now, which is crazy. You know, good for me to be able to get that kind of rent, because if I didn't, my God, it would be impossible to survive with the way things have gotten in the city here in the last four years or five years. So the thing is, the government is taking care of all these immigrants because they don't want to look bad internationally. But what's not out there in the international news is the fact that I know that the government is taking care of all these immigrants. 59% of our homeless are all locals, and none of these immigrants are homeless. That really blows my mind. It absolutely does. There's low-income housing here in the city that's all being given away to immigrants when locals in some cases have been on the waiting list for those services for multiple years. And I don't think that's fit. We grew up in low-income housing when I was a kid, just around the corner from here as a matter of fact. And the place I grew up in before my parents bought this house, there's something like 12 Indians or Arabic people living in that one house. And that's a four-bedroom house with 12 people, 12 adults, not even counting the kids living in there. And it's just anarchy on that one street now because it's just a tiny little cul-de-sac. And you've got more people on that street, more kids just rolling down the road, sitting on the street. You've got to be having your head on a swivel when you go up that street because they've got so many kids that are just not looked after, that are running around the street. And one kid with just a diaper on, no shoes, no t-shirt, no nothing, just going with a diaper in the streets. And I'm thinking to myself, what are these parents, what the heck are they doing? Thanks for joining us, Josh. We'll catch you out here tomorrow, man. All the best. Back over to George, KV0MAI. George, for your final comments this morning. It's over to you. KV0MAI. Well, it's been interesting. You all have a wonderful night, KV0MAI. All right, George, and thank you for joining us this morning, man. Always great to have you with us. And we're going to go to Miss D-9KM4LBF. It's over to you. No need to rush your final comments, certainly. We've got lots of time. We owe it to you, KZ. This is KV0MAI, welcome back down. One thing I don't like is giving myself a shot. I usually don't like having someone else give me a shot either. For some reason, I think it hurts more when someone gives me that shot than me giving myself a shot. And with that, I've had quite a few operations. And if I can see the stitches, in seven days I will remove them. I will not allow another person to do it because I feel it hurts more when someone else is digging through my flush and plucking out the stitches than when I go in and I do it. So, this is my last communication. It was for real. I hope everyone has a blessed day. And this is KN4LBF. This is my 73. It's over and out. Back to you, Darryl. Thank you, D. And a pleasure to have you with us this morning as well. And yeah, I'm the opposite. Now, it's probably because of my vision that I'm the opposite because I'm 97% blind. I have 3% sight in one eye and 0 in the other. So, I've only got 3% in one eye that I'm working with. So, even when it comes to a shot for insulin, I can't give that to myself because I can't see the tip of the needle. When I'm down, you know, from my eyes to my belly, that's close enough, or far enough away, sorry, that I'm able to see the tip of the needle in my skin and how far I'm putting it in and stuff like that. So, it's better in my case that someone else does it. Now, I have had to take it with a pen. A couple of times when the pharmacy is closed, I go there and they do it for me every day unless they're closed. And in case they give me a pen. And the pen is not so bad. I could do it with a pen, but I still don't like to. I'd sooner someone that's professionally trained to be given needles is the one who won't be given it. So, that's just my view on that one. And stitches, oh yeah, I ain't cutting those out. I did have a girlfriend at one time that did that kind of thing. She was like, ah, you don't need to go to the hospital to get stitches out. She'd have snip, snip, snip with the scissors, with the little pointy scissors, and no trouble at all. But if it was me, now I'll go to the hospital and get those suckers taken out. A4HO, Ron, it's over to you, man. And no need to rush your comments or nothing. We've got time. V01, UKZ. Go ahead. Yeah, thanks, Argyro. Everybody have a nice day. I don't have much more to add to today. I'm already on, you know, my next thing here. You know, I don't follow everybody to the world wide sh- And I'm expecting a call today. So, I want to be ready for that. It was a relatively good night today, as usual. And I'll look forward to seeing, hearing everybody tomorrow on a Thursday. The hurricane, by the way, I hadn't checked on the radar yet where the progress was. But, yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow. That's a wake up call for us since that time. Some of the other people are coming in, but I'm not sure if they're coming in. I got it up there. That's a wake up call for us since that time. Some of the strongest hurricanes to hit Florida have hit around the end of August and into September. Because the hurricane season really isn't over until like November. It's a long, grueling time and it keeps us on the edge of our seat. The first one, though, I think it's going to be pretty intense. I hope it doesn't hit, you know, like New York or anything. But they don't forecast that far out. But the last position is way east of Red Crook or Shelby. You know, several days from now. So if it keeps on that track, we'll be all right. All right. Let me turn it back over to you, Gerald. A.A. 4-H.O. Ron Garima, Florida. Everybody have a nice day today. All right, Ron, you have an awesome day as well, man. And we look forward to hearing you out here tomorrow. You have a great day. And next up on The Mist, we're going to go to Steve. Gray, what are questions you're asking me because I am on Social Security. I'm an old fart. And I'm going to tell you, I believe they have like three things they're going to do. Either put it at stock, into the stock market, in which we can, this is what I've read. Stock market, in which we can lose everything in one night. They also say that they could give us in seven to eight years three fourths of, so that I'm thinking man, they only give us like two percent coda, so they're going to put minus it three fourths. So you know, that's a concern. And then the third one was oh man, oh man, oh man. It's just letting it drop altogether. And all of them, all those things are a real concern. And I think if they don't replenish it, you know, then it's going to be gone. I really believe that. I think it's going to be gone. And you know, just like the baby boom, you have to go back to work if you can. Or you're going to have to have a plan A, plan B, plan C. You know? You have to re-look into history and removing social security or putting it into a plan that is not, you know, a solid plan. You know, then you've got to rethink how you're going to live your life. And what they had was the Asians took a cold round tray and put ice underneath it and then put cream on top and scoop up the ice cream. So a lot of people adopted that down here and that's what they had. They had rolled ice cream, I think it's called, down here. And I kind of like go through phases of trying different things and I thought yeah, they're making it fresh right before my eyes. You know, they put the cream in this thing and they roll it up for you and they give it to you. But I found that the taste was not any other different than the other stuff that they were doing. And at $7 for a child's cup, I thought that was a little expensive for me even though I was, you know, okay with it. But yeah, I might try different ice creams. You didn't hear Scooter barking this morning, because I get up at 4 o'clock every morning and go to work. So he's on my schedule. I am in charge of all medicine and all feeding. And that way, we don't get confused in the household. We don't need a checklist or anything. So yeah, with me getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning and feeding him around 4 10, 4 15, he's got his biological clock going. And he woke me up. And right now, he's sitting there. And I can't tell if he's sleeping. There's a new thing going on. And he's hard of hearing. And his eyesight's not good. And he's really old. So I don't know, because he's going to be 18. I don't know if he's actually sleeping or resting. But sometimes we think he sleeps with his eyes open now. So we're not sure. But he's laying there. His eye is open. No, no. I'm just going to go head out and do a couple of things around the house. It's not too hot out here. It's like a little below 90 right now. It's going to hit a little over 90 later. So I'm about to get some stuff now. There's a space between my fence and another person's fence. And a lot of weed is growing in this small space. And I want to get a weed chopper back there and get it done and spray some stuff or keep it under control. So that's what I'm thinking about doing today. Maybe more, maybe tomorrow. I don't know. Anyway, 73s and clear. Back to the net. All right, KN4LBF KM1X, you have a great weekend. Now we'll go to Ben. VE3FDX. Final comments from you today, sir. KM1X versus VE3FDX. Just thanks for doing the net, kid. It's been a great day. The depression was amazing. And hopefully I'll be back and see everybody tomorrow. Sounds good. I think that the Sunday, Gray is right, the Sunday nets are so informal and relaxed that you can come, talk for a couple minutes, leave, or stay for the whole thing or whatever. It's very relaxed. And I kind of like that. N9, OSU, Bill. Your turn. Final comments. All right, thank you, sir. And just getting ready to start the day here. Sort of eating. But I did clean up all the poop in the backyard. And now I'm cleaning up myself. So I will say 73, catch everybody out here, tomorrow morning on the cloud above my net. And this is N9, OP, saying so long. All right. If there's water, I can't see. How many years? Turn us around. All right. OK, OK, OK. Let's see, who's next? Who is now Ms. Kateri? I walked by her, and one of the brothers I walked by her, when I looked down, there was a shirt track in my belly. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Yeah, yeah. You wouldn't have messed around with that Cha Cha Jerky girl, I'll tell you that. That's what that girl was. She is and was a good kid. But when they don't trust you, they got to turn them loose. Anyway, not a lot else going on here. I think it looks like we might actually be on our house in the sunshine. Looks like it's going to be 87 degrees by 5 o'clock today. And the rains are still in the Oregon area. Hopefully we don't have any there. Oh, that's another thing. The fallout in Oak Ridge is almost contained. I think it was probably started by the railroad 87MR back to the group. Have a great radio day. 87MR out. 87MR KM1X, you have yourself a great day too, Terry. Thank you for joining us this morning. And now we'll go down to WA6 ABC for final comments. KM1X from WA6 ABC. Well, thank you for including me in on today's festivities. Appreciate it. Glad I got in at the end. And nice hearing from the people that I did hear from. And always lovely. Always lovely whenever I come. So nice to hear everybody. And I guess we'll just close it down there. Going to take care of some cats. I got to jump in the shower. Got done with my work. Got a few bits of paperwork to handle here. Should be an OK day. Thanks very much. Off to work. Yeah, I'm here, Bill. I don't have any pets. I had a dog. He died, uh, 2012. But I haven't had any pets since then, so here you go. Yeah, I like Daryl's cat. I'm shocked. He was even shocked when I sat down and so-so came over. As close as you did that time when I came over there last year. And he said she never goes near anybody, not as close as she came to me. And so we had a dog and a cat, and then we moved out here, and we lived at our friend's house. Uh, we brought the dog, but we weren't able to bring the cat, so the cat stayed with our son. Um, and the cats started out as our friends when she was living with us. And then when she moved to Arizona, she moved into a place where she couldn't bring her cat, so we ended up with the cat. So, uh, and she does not have, uh, uh, scorpions. Uh, she has, uh, uh, black snakes in the alligators. Yeah, I'll stick with the scorpions. But over to you, D. This is KN4LBF. Thanks. Yeah, we have black snakes, and, um, the only way I can describe it is the snakes that are here, their normal size is as large as, um, a 40-inch men's belt, because we tried to loop it one time. It didn't work. But, yeah, they're very, and, um, they're very, they're total muscle. I picked one up one time. It was total muscle. And, um, the alligators, now I never saw one or two recently. And, um, we were walking to walk the dog, you know. There's no sign saying alligator. Watch out, nothing. You know, I guess it's a, it's a four-hour-to-thing. You just know there's alligators. So, we went, and this huge 15-foot one came in front of our truck, and I thought he was going to bite the tires. So we're waiting for him to cross over. We were so shocked. We didn't even take a picture of it. It was so big. It just looked at us, and then it kept on going. It was crossing the reserve pond. There was one pond here, and the other one he was going to. And I said, they would gulp up like a little chihuahua. That's how big it is. So, I'm like, they should have signs around here, because you got a lot of people coming in from different places, visiting, and they don't know. Those things are hanging out, you know, waiting for dinner. And, um, I think you, hold on, I'm going to reset. Just give me a second. I think you guys were talking about pets and animals, and I got myself, um, I had to. And, you know, we put him down because he was really, really suffering. But his lady, Penny, which I got from the ASPCA, they warned me about her. They said, listen, she barked. So, the barking was not no problem, because whenever she saw anything wrong, she barked and we looked. But she was definitely a lead. And she got so bad with making sure that she protected us that, you know, it was even a problem to take her to the doctor. We had to muzzle her. And, um, every time we took her anywhere, the red flag would go up that she's a problem, and we couldn't leave her anywhere. So, we haven't gone on vacation in a long time. And even going into a hotel with her muzzled, it's a problem because the moment she saw any other animal or anything, she would just, like, want to go. So, um, we're, you know, we still love her, you know, because the way I see it, you know, even though she was a problem child, um, I have to look out for her because that's all she has is me. Us. You know, I wish I had someone to take care of me when I was a kid. I had a long, terrible journey as a child, you know. My parents were not good and, you know, they shouldn't have had kids."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-12T06:33:36+00:00","id":16367,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16366,"text":" Hey, how you doing there? This is KN4LBF. I'm sorry about that. I was fixing my husband's breakfast. I'm making him an egg sandwich with Thomas' English muffin wheat. And he already had his coffee. Anyway, back to you. This is KN4LBF. Did I go to jail? They will get back to me. Alright, thank you very much Russell. Well, I just had a micro heart attack. I'm guessing this is the only way to describe it. I was watching this video and it was just these little kittens and they were just playing with each other and running through cat tunnels and jumping all over the place. And all of a sudden, bang, skeleton face right in front of my face. It's one of these blasted jump scare videos and it almost made me crap my pants. Usually they don't get me. But, being as that it was a cute little cat video, I did not expect to be scared in any stretch of the imagination. I had my phone right close to my face, you know, watch this little video and all of a sudden bang. And my heart skipped a beat. Oh my, not good. Anyway, what to say, what to say. I was on a sleep blast mate with headphones on and it was awesome. I dropped it and I had taken them off during my sleep. But I went to sleep with headphones on over the year once, the new set that I got last week. Man, the sound of those things is just so magnificent. It's just so crystal clear and the bass is just so rumbly. They're just the nicest sounding thing that I've ever listened to, to really be honest with you guys. And the mic is good in them too. I played a little bit of Fall Guys, I think, a couple days ago. And you could really hear when it's got the virtual surround sound thing going in the app. And you position where you want this one to be around you in virtual space. So you can like put a couple in front, a couple above, a couple on the sides, a couple behind you. I think it's like 7.2 or something like that so you can really customize the sound. And when you're playing a game where there's enemies roaming around and someone is sneaking up behind you, you can hear footsteps and they really sound like they're coming from behind you. And I wonder how they do this because the headphones themselves, they only have two speakers in them. Two 50mm neotenium drivers is what's in them. And man, they sound spectacular. Let me reset."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-23T04:56:44+00:00","id":22140,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":22139,"text":" KN4LBF, 80 degrees, is that the high that you're going to have today dear? Is that what it is right now? If it's 80 at 755 AM, whoo, that's a little much for this early. We got a 57 here and that's a very comfortable temperature. Hopefully you have a nice day and stay cool. And now we're going to go to Greg, KC2, PKG. Good morning to you sir. Welcome to the Cal of Londonette. What are your plans for this Saturday?
