Uh, KM7, Bravo Delta Oscar, that's where I messed it up. KM7, Bravo Delta Oscar with an I-O, alright. Uh, let's see, let me get that in there. Yeah, Mike, we got you there. Uh, with an I-O, well thank you for stopping by this morning. And, uh, let's go back up to, uh, Burt there, uh, KG7 JU-M. How's the commute there, Burt? Jim, the commute is much cooler than yesterday. Uh, correction on the call sign, uh, it's Kilo Kilo 7, uh, Juliet Uniform Mike. That's a double Kilo before the number. Uh, yeah, didn't get my, uh, him operator license until, uh, after COVID, until he started doing, uh, in-person, uh, uh, testing. Hey, uh, yeah, there's, there's nobody in a bucket truck out here on the, uh, multi-use path along the 520 Trail. Like yesterday morning, there was a Woolworth bucket truck, followed by, uh, a Ford F-250. Um, but, uh, now everybody's out. Uh, the air quality, um, I would, I don't have numbers for you, but, uh, I can definitely tell that there's some, uh, haze from that, uh, fire in the Olympic Peninsula. I heard something earlier as I was going out the door about the high wind warnings in eastern Washington. But since I could not get the, uh, Kibara, uh, uh, net at the 7 o'clock, uh, regional international net to come up on the, uh, Bear's Repeater, uh, here in, in, uh, Seattle, I didn't get any of that information. I guess, uh, guess I'll listen to the rest of the net to see what's going on with the Bear's Repeater, if anybody knows anything about that. And, uh, how our friends in eastern Washington are gonna deal with this, uh, high wind alert. Uh, I hope, uh, I hope everything stays, uh, dry and not on fire. Wind is not, uh, what we need. We need rain, which we're gonna get on Friday. Looking forward to the rain. Uh, looking for the rest of the net. Thanks for taking it over on Wednesday. And, uh, I'm not gonna ask you for a Buckyball report, so I'm handing it back to the head. Kilo Kilo, 7 Juliet Uniform Mike. Okay there, Bert. Well, thank you. Yeah, well, I, I actually got something written down here right the first time, but I added a, like, trying to type, uh, rapidly here. And, uh, my typing skills have just gone totally south on me. I got an extra J in there before. I got a KJJ7KUM. Well, nobody knew who that was. Anyway, as far as, uh, the Bears, the Bears are back online. Uh, I was, I was on the, uh, Kabara Net this morning, because that's in my own backyard here, uh, at the lake. And, um, the, uh, they were having, they were doing some work on me yesterday, I know. And it was a possibility that it would be down all day yesterday and part of today. But, uh, it, uh, popped back up about 7.30, I guess. And, uh, some of the people were reporting that the Bears are back on. So, uh, we got some check-ins from, from the west side there. As far as the wind warning goes, yeah, it's supposed to be pretty bad this afternoon, the 30, 40 mile an hour wind, wind gusts. So, uh, we don't need that in the fire stuff over here. We don't have any fires really close here, but, uh, it's, uh, it's always scary when they start. So, uh, anyway, thanks there, Bert. You have a good day at work there. And, uh, let's go see what Daryl's up to on the rock there. V01, UK's up. Uh, good morning, Daryl. Hello, and very good morning to you and everybody on the PSRG repeater group this morning, and around the world for that matter. I hope everybody's doing well. Uh, we're doing okay up here. We've got, uh, some wildfires of our own. Uh, quite a very large one, actually. Uh, that's headed directly toward the capital here. Uh, St. John's, of course, is the capital of Newfoundland. And, uh, we've got a, a massive wildfire that's been burning for a couple of days now. Uh, sections of the area last night were under mandatory evacuation order as a result. And, uh, we're really hoping they get it calmed down because it is just hot and dry. Well, hot by Newfoundland standards. We got about 85 degrees, uh, Fahrenheit here today. And, uh, it's not fun. Uh, we're not, uh, geared, uh, for these kind of temperatures up here. I mean, we can take 20 below, 30 below zero every day. I know people that love those temperatures. But when it gets this warm, you know, when you're reading your computer and your eyelids are wet, there's no need of it. Uh, I guess the, with the humidity is probably taking it up closer to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. So, definitely do warm, pretty, uh, cold-blooded Newfoundland. Or hot-blooded Newfoundlanders. I don't know. We stay warm in winter. Uh, we don't really like, uh, hot summer temperatures too much up this way. But we take it as it comes. But, yeah, this is the first year in recent memory that we've had wildfires burning so close to the capital here. So, we're dealing with that. They've got six water bombers and I think close on 200 firefighters that are fighting this, uh, this large wildfire. And then we've got three more, uh, that are burning here on the island. None of which are close to the city. One is about an hour outside the city, but it's just the one that's just up on the highway, uh, looming closer and closer that, uh, we are worried about for sure. So, we'll take it as it comes. We'll see where it goes. And, uh, I'll just wish everybody a great day, uh, here on the net. 7-3 from here on the rocket. This is E-01, U-K-Z. Well, thank you, little girl. That, uh, that's interesting. Yeah, I know you, the last couple of times that you were, that I heard you on here, you were mentioning the fire there. So, I knew you had a big one going. I didn't realize it was so close to the capital, though. That's always scary when it's close to a, to a major city. So, uh, anyway, good luck there. And, uh, I know you guys don't like the hot weather. Well, I don't like it here either, but we had, we had a high of 91 here yesterday at the lake. And, uh, so it was even hotter than that in downtown Spokane on the Blacktop and everything. So, uh, it's still, uh, still pretty doggone warm over here on this side of the, of the hill. We called this side of the hill when we talked about the Cascade Mountains between western Washington and eastern Washington. So, that's our local slang. So, thank you, girl. You have a good one. All right, we had an I-O from Mike there. So, this is Jim, K-7 PD's there, sitting in for Dave this morning. Uh, uh, the second round, I said, would be all internet. So, uh, uh, let's see who's out there on the, uh, internet stations only. Uh, I'll sign a name, please. November 3, Oscar Mike Oscar. November 3, Oscar Mike Oscar. Elaine in Florida. Well, good morning there, Elaine. Good to hear from you this morning. Who else is on the internet?"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T09:30:20+00:00","id":16147,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16146,"text":" 7, Bravo Delta Oscar, just an I-O. KM7BDO, thank you for your I-O, appreciate that, have a great week and stay cool, whatever you do. Let's get right back to K3-OE. Rich, I tell you, people are really wondering what the heck you were doing walking around with that big fishing net. Maybe you can explain that for us. Jack, I guess the first thing is, I just had to do something silly. It was just so much fun to do that project. It was fast and simple and it worked. Anyway, of course I had to bring it because I just thought, we're close to the water and all that and I said, yeah, I gotta go fishing for signals. Anyway, and it worked. That's the main thing. Jack, the antenna lab was closed last night. I was so tuckered out that I just was not up to doing anything else last night. Yeah, the lab should be open again this evening. And, Jack, I tell you what, I've never thought about getting my reciprocating saw out and, yeah, whittling down my furniture. Boy, I don't know if I'd be up to that. Back to you, K3-OE. Well, you know, I was thinking about that and some of the goos is, yeah, I got my reciprocating saw and cut up the sectional, the half of it or whatever part that he cut up into eight big pieces. How the heck did they get the thing into the living room? I was kind of wondering that. What about you? Jack, that is always the puzzle. I'll have to admit, there are pieces of furniture in the house here that I kind of wonder how they got in here. So, yeah, that's one of those puzzles of the day. Back to you, K3-OE. Yeah, it's like, and I think this cannot be a unique case. The guy builds his boat in his backyard and then realizes when it's all done, hey, wait, I can't get the boat out of the backyard and they have to bring a big crane in and lift it up over the house. I don't know, maybe they did that with a sectional. Finish the house after they get the sectional in. Anyway, great to see you, Rich, and I hope Polo's okay. Man, I'm not sure who's running who harder, me or him, but that was really fun to go back and forth there in the park with him. We're having a good time. All right, talk to you later, Rich. Let's go talk to Skipper, Skipper Howard, thanks, today. Go ahead, please. Okay, I'm 7-A, I'm Skipper here. Pretty good, just enjoying the nice weather and using a different radio. My ASU-991 quit, so I've got to send it back to the factory. I took my ICOM ID5100 out of my Jeep and now it's in the shack, but it's all good. Hopefully they'll fix it and get it back to me. It should be under warranty. I've had it just less than a year, but it's been a long time. Other than that, just mowed the lawn yesterday. That took about five or six hours and I don't know, it might just stay out of the sun today. Hope everybody has a great day. KM7, AJM, back to Jack. Glad always amazed me when you give us the lawn mowing report, haven't taken half a day to do it. Wow, that's a lot of lawn. Hey, what back is wrong with the 9918? I mean, I don't know if you were able to determine what it was. I mean, it doesn't work, so yeah, send it in. But any idea what caused it? I don't know what caused it. I had on the triple nickel stem plex, I had some reports of a little bit of noise on my signal, but usually on the nets I didn't. So I would second for interference or loose connections on the mic, make sure everything was grounded, nothing in the shack interfering. So I have a feeling the front end of the thing fried the main board. I don't know, but it should be under warranty. If not, I'll find a different radio. Back to you, Jack. KM7, AJM. Alright, well good luck with that. Yeah, let us know the outcome once it comes back into circulation when you're there. Well, and like most of us, hey, you don't have one radio? Oh, this one's not working. Let me grab this one over here. Oh, let me grab DHT, let me grab the one out of the Jeep, you know. So you're always good to go. And you always have EchoLink and All-Star as alternatives as well. Alright, Skipper, well hey, you stay out of the sun today, would you please maybe just take a little day off? How about that? It's okay with me. Let's go talk to Bill, KEG7FWB. Great to see you, Bill. What a great time we had yesterday at Green Lake. How are you? Well, hi, Jack. Just got back from having the sweetest pancakes at Pete's over on 77th, and that was good. Yeah, I just saw all the pictures that were put up, and yeah, it was a fun time seeing everybody. I got there a little after nine, but I had a couple other things I had to do in the afternoon. So fun seeing everybody, fun talking to John there, W-O-I. And playing with the dogs, watching John on a guitar, JSM, seeing how he's progressed. So that was kind of fun. So, looking forward to the next one. Back to you, KEG7FWB. Well, hold on a second there, cowboy. I saw you wielding the Ibanez. What'd you think? Did he have it tuned up right? Of course he did. And did you enjoy that guitar? Uh, yeah, I got a little tuner on there, and he tuned it up, so it was fine. It was hard for me because it's steel strings, and they're real thin, and they cut into my fingers. So the nylons don't. They just kind of, over 67 years, dent in the nerves at the end of your fingers. But it was a nice guitar. I think it was his first one. But it'll be interesting to see some of the other electric guitars in time. Back to you. Alright, Bill. Yeah, I didn't even realize that he had a steel string, or it was spun up with steel strings, okay? Yeah, well if you don't have the calluses, that can be painful. Alright, well you take care of those fingertips, and we'll talk to you soon there, Bill. Great to have you come out yesterday. Well, speaking of great to have you coming out yesterday, I tell you, John, KEG7W, oh, everybody who had never met you were just jumping up and down, going, that's John. Wow, fantastic. And just racing over to talk to you. How are you doing? Nice to have you and Bill, KC5WFH join us at the Rainier Shine Net. How are you? Go ahead, John. Well, good morning, Jack, and good morning to the net. KEG7W, oh, I am Paul's boat. Yeah, that was a wonderful event. You know, I've never belonged to such a wonderful group of people. It's just fascinating to meet old ones and new ones I've never met. It's just a fun day, and ice cream was good. I had a s'mores, ice cream bar, delicious. And the golden guy picked me up an apple fritter, she goes, thank you for that. It was a wonderful afternoon. Boy, when I got home, I was one tuckered puppy. This old Norwegian, he just dropped in his chair here in Little Norway and took a big rest when he got home. But thanks for all you do, Jack, and putting these events on. It was, again, fantastic, and I'm looking forward to the next one already. So, Bill and I both enjoyed it. And that's about it for me. I got a little longer to do today and a bunch of domestic stuff around the house here, so I've got to get moving here pretty quick. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy it. It's going to be a warm KEG7WOI-73. Alright, well once again, John, just fantastic to see you. That just made everybody's day so much fun. Hey, real quick, Bill, he checked in right before you, KEG7FWB, and he mentioned Swedish pancakes, those little powdered sugar delights all rolled up. So, in Norway, do you know if they have Swedish pancakes or do they call them something else, maybe? And from the transcription it pulls, or tries to pull, call finds that it sees, and then it records basic usage data, like how often a call find is seen and where, and then it tries to do associative things like net activity and stuff like that. And the idea is that clubs or people or anyone who wants in-depth analytical data on either an activity they're running or something they are doing, whatever, they can have historical data that they can look back on really, really in-depth. And when I did it at first, it was just for me. I was kind of curious what ham radio was like on the data side of things. And as I was doing it, I decided I was going to make it free and open source because I wanted it to be as useful to everyone as possible. And Steve had ran across me on one of the Facebook posts I made very early on, and me and him have been talking back and forth about what the system could be and what the best direction to take it is and stuff like that. And so far, I think it's turned into a really good project. They can be really helpful. KK7 and QN, back to Nick. Well, Hunter, thank you for taking us through that project. That does sound really interesting and helpful. And I look forward, if I do sign up for this video, I look forward to your talk. There is so much going on on the, what would you call it, the intersection of computers and ham radio is just astounding. And I'm fascinated too. I don't have your skills, but I'm having fun watching. Well, this is the 9 p.m. PSRG Social Net. My name is Bill, K7WFD. And long time, what can I say, around this time of the evening, we traditionally go over some announcements of what's going on. There isn't too much going on as summer winds down next Saturday. That's September 6th, I think. As usual, the Radio Club of Tacoma hosts their open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And as usual, next Saturday, as every Saturday, the Simplex Net is a good opportunity to test your equipment on one force. It just didn't seem like many people had the attitude or the mental of the next conversation at all. That's two weeks from today, the PSRG Educational Meeting. I think it's at 1.30. It isn't marked in here, but it usually is 1.30 on Zoom topic to be announced. And then we're into fall and nothing is leaping out at me as anything you absolutely have to hear.
