That's too bad. Um, okay, well, I'm just a meatloaf lover in the house, so we're gonna go to Josh. KJ5IRQ Josh. B-loaf. Do you like it? Do you make it? How do you make it? This is KC2PKG. This is Repeater Station Kilo 7, KJ. I would like to know who actually eats meatloaf. Kilo is nasty. I mean, it's filled with crap like meat. And binders. And spices. Oh, wait. Meat. I'm the people. I love meatloaf. I, uh, actually, I don't even care for the meatloaf when it's cooked. I'll eat it, mashed potatoes and all that. Cool, whatever. Man, it's the next day. I'm telling you, that's where it's at. Meatloaf sliced up, served on some bread. Where it's at. Especially if you have a little bit of, you know, gravy and a little bit of mashed cabbage. I do the same thing on Thanksgiving, though. The next day on Thanksgiving, I usually make me a Thanksgiving sandwich. And it's gonna have turkey and cranberry and stuffing. And, yeah, it's just one big nasty sandwich. Man, it's so... Meatloaf. Yes, we do have meatloaf here. And it's different to anyone who makes it. My last cooks are completely different than how I do. I do two versions. One's a gourmet version and one's just an everyday version. The everyday version, I either get really good ground beef or I buy a chuck roaster and make it myself. There's a texture thing involved with meatloaf, I think. I also don't just use generic breadcrumbs on it. My life almost always has some sourdough bread around here somewhere. So we drive that out and we make the breadcrumbs out of that. But what I do in mine, I think a lot of people do, maybe not on this match. At least here, in my neck of the woods. We're moving our meatloaf together. We've got our meat in our binders and spices. Bell peppers and onions. It's already been softened. Sometimes I grill them and then I'll saut\u00e9 them a little bit. Get that char built into it. Lay all those profiles. And, yeah, we'll get that whole sucker mixed together. And then what I do is I'll hollow out the center and put some cheese in there. And I'll cover it up with some more meat, you see. So basically I made a meatloaf pocket for cheese. But it doesn't end with that. No, no sir. I like to go one step further. And I'll throw that sucker on my smoker. If you've never had smoked meatloaf. Now, I'm not saying liquid smoke. I've used that in the past and it works to the pitch. But it's a poor substitution for a good smoked meatloaf. Unfortunately, this day and age, eating smoked really kind of hurts my digestive track. But that's one of those things that I'll have. Gosh, I'll probably don't make meatloaf like that twice a year maybe. It's a lot of work. But, man, I'll tell you what. It is the best meatloaf. And I also kind of like Dell. I don't use ketchup. We make a barbecue sauce and it's a simple barbecue sauce. We make it for chicken, for everything basically. And we use that. So, yeah, there you go. KJ5, IOKU, back to the neck control. I'm not a big fan of smoked things, but that sounds really good. KJ5, IRQ, this is KC2, PTG. All right. We will move on to KN6, UYZ. Do you like meatloaf, John? And do you make meatloaf? Or what is your favorite meatloaf? What about you? Uh, lost your name. Okay. KN6, UYZ. This is KC2, PKG. Uh, good morning again, KN6, UYZ. Yeah, I like meatloaf a lot. Although I've never made it in 77 years. Uh, because I don't really know how. I don't really know much about spices and things like that. Uh, I guess my favorite way of having it would be the way my mother used to make it. However that was. So, I guess I like meatloaf. Uh, but, uh, what, barbecue sauce on the top? Yeah, I'm sure that would be tasty, and I would be happy to eat that. Especially with some mashed potatoes. But, uh, the way I was used to it was with some kind of ketchup, uh, flavoring on the top. So that would be my preferred way to go. So I don't have anything that interesting, I just don't make it. Never have anything that interesting about it. I don't want to have any of that. Uh, I'll tell you what that is. I'm going to get a little bit of a good slice of meatloaf. Uh, I've got a little bit of a good slice of meatloaf. And, uh, I've got the chicken and the chicken. I just don't make it, never have, but if somebody wants to invite me over, I'll be happy to come and eat it for you. KN6UYZ, back to Nat. Beep. KN6UYZ. All right, we gotta take her. If you got extra meat, we'll invite John over. This is KC2PKG. Oh, and you got my mind to whirl. Josh, with the meatloaf sandwiches, they really are good. They really are good. That used to be my first wife's favorite thing in the world was meatloaf sandwiches. And you really have to work on the body of the loaf itself, so it can be sliced very, very thin. And that takes a little extra binding to make it work like that. All right, Chuck, AA4HI. Hey, loaf, do you like it? Do you make it? And if you do, how do you make it? This is KC2PKG. Beep. You know, Cory, I'm not a big fan of meatloaf. It's okay. But it's not my favorite food. Well, I mean, maybe my wife maybe makes it a couple times a year, and never in the summer. You know how it is here. I don't see anything like that in the summer. At least me, I don't. So I don't really go crazy when I hear it's being cooked. I'm like, okay. I don't think it's wonderful, so to speak. But anyway, that's the way it goes. What do y'all like, what was it like? So I'm great, I don't like it. With some ketchup on top, onions, and whatever else is in it. But I don't know, I really am not like cheese. I can't wait to eat it. So I probably went on to the first one who says I really just don't like meatloaf. Anyway, back with you, AA4HI. Beep. Ah, we got one. AA4HI, this is KC2PKG. I was waiting for somebody to say I really don't like meatloaf. So you won the prize, gold star for you. All right, Terry, MM0RKN. Meatloaf, do you make it, do you like it? Is it different in Scotland somehow? We'd love to know all your thoughts about meatloaf. So this is KC2PKG, over to you, MM0RKN. Beep. Beep. We'd use lean scotch beef mince, three rashers of bacon, finely chopped, an onion, finely chopped, carrots, tomato, and some herbs would be put in there as well. Maybe like chives or parsley or something. And you'd have three tablespoons of fresh bread. And it would be put into a baking tin. Just cook, you can slice it into nice slices. It's perfect for sandwiches as well. So yeah, that's how the traditional Scottish meatloaf is there today. MM0RKN, back to net control. Beep. MM0RKN, this is KC2PKG. That sounds good. That sounds like a recipe that would work. You know, there's two basic philosophies I've noticed for meatloaf. You can have meatloaf with gravy and potatoes, or you can have meatloaf with ketchup. And I've never seen the two put together, but the philosophy up here in Maine, where we go, the meatloaf has gravy on it, tons of it, and lots of potatoes. So meat and potato cake. But when I was growing up, it was sliced much finer. It had ketchup on it, there's the eight, it had ketchup. November, Quebec, November. All-star notes, please use. And so just a totally different thing. Some people put them in a loaf sheet, and some people put them on a baking sheet, a rimmed baking sheet, and they just leave it open, a mound. That's how my son does it. And either one works, either one works. Okay, Bill, N9OFU. Meatloaf, we're talking meatloaf here. Do you like it? Do you make it? And if so, how? This is KC2PKG. All right, well, no, I don't make it. And my wife doesn't make it. So if I eat it, the only chance I get to eat it is if I find it out in the wild. I use a bow and arrow, shoot it, take it down. You know? No, but there's Chuck's Up, Flying J, and Pilot. They all have meatloaf. And every now and then, I'll grab one of their slices of meatloaf, you know, get it with potatoes and vegetables. And it comes with a red paste on it, either ketchup or something. Similar, maybe I have tomato paste, but I think it's probably more ketchup. I think my mom used to make it when I was a kid, because I seem to recall having it when I was a kid. But other than that, it's just being able to grab it. Sometimes when I'm out on the road and I get a hankering for it, I remember, every now and then I might find a buffet that has some meatloaf as one of the items on there. So I usually grab some of that too. But that's what I know about meatloaf. I don't eat it. It's not something I go out of my way for that I have to have, but I don't mind it. It's a fine meat-like substance that I do enjoy eating from time to time. All right, back to you. Oops, sorry, sorry. Also, the other last question. I remember my mom had gotten a screen door, a wooden screen door from someone who moved and it didn't fit her door. So it was my chore to take that thing and make it fit. So I had to do some trimming here and there, then add some stuff on the bottom to keep the bugs out. I totally forgot about that. So I was proud that I was able to get that put together and up for her and her mobile home there in Casa Grande. Back to you. N90FU, this is KC2, PKG. It's interesting, because I just finished retrimming a screen door to fit in a very, very old porch where everything is warped. So we used a spring and a wire to pull it tightly closed. Come on, because screen doors aren't much fun if they've got big cracks around them. All right, KM4QVC Jeff Meatloaf, we're talking Meatloaf. Do you like it? Do you have it often? Do you not make it? And if you do, then how do you make it? This is KC2, PKG. KC2, PKG, KM4QVC. Josh was talking about she just bakes it to that right, I don't know, it's kinda crispy around the edges a little bit, and then ketchup on top. So I think she puts that on there because she gets it out. Anyway, I love it, I love it. And later that same day, we used that for supper. I'll make the sandwich with a little mayo, white bread, and just a touch more ketchup. So yeah, man, I'm all about it for KM4QVC. All right, another big vote for Meatloaf. This is KC2, PKG, thank you very much, KM4QVC. And we'll try Ralph again, see if he's out there. Hey, YQJ, do you like Meatloaf, Ralph? And do you make it? We'd love to know how you make it. This is KC2, PKG."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T06:56:55+00:00","id":13998,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13997,"text":" It is sound and prudent judgment based on a simple, I thought simple was important, a simple perception of the situation of facts. I sort of liked that. And then the other one I sort of liked was the common sense, this is from Wikipedia actually, is more or less universal, which a universal thought that is held more or less without reflection. So apparently it's something you don't have to, or not supposed to have to think about. It's just something that comes to you or that you have. So I don't know, is that pretty dry information? Well, that's the best I could come up with. KN6UYZ, this is my 73 round. I'm gonna go back to sleep. Thanks everybody. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. KN6UYZ, well have a great rest there buddy. And thank you for joining us, really appreciate it. All right, we move on down to Chuck, AA4HI. Chuck, define common sense for me and give me an example if you can. This is KC2PKG. I agree, AA4HI. I guess common sense is, to me, is not only understanding how to do, you have to be able to implement it, I guess is what I'm saying. You know, being extremely smart. But the smallest things, you know, not being able to understand. Because I really can't think of anything any better than what someone else has said. But I guess you always think about someone as really smart, but I don't know. It's very difficult for them to do simple tasks. And I don't even know if that's even a fair assessment, but you know, because all I've got is from years of someone saying someone doesn't have common sense. But I think a lot of people have common sense. You know, a lot of people, as we know, are not all geniuses, but they can work with their hands and figure problems out and have a lot of good reasoning skills, you know, with other people. I think that's important. I think that has a lot to do with common sense too. Instead of just being directly by the book, being able to talk to someone and explain to them what's going on. That's what I guess it is to me, Gray. Back on you, A4-John. A4-HI, this is KC2PKG. Yeah, it's something beyond being book smart. Chuck seems to be hinting. We used to have a lot of people who had taken every test, knowing the man in the computer business, and yet they had a lot of trouble applying that knowledge. And they did because they didn't sort of have a sense of how everything fits together. That's my example anyway. All right, Carrie, MM0RKN. Tell me what common sense is. And if you have any examples, I'd love to hear them. This is KC2PKG. MM0RKN, I think common sense is something that you kind of develop as you navigate the world. You get more and more of it as you mature, let's say, squat. And as you mature, you get better at it. And I think I worked on myself when I was younger. And my grandma, I visited her very frequently, but I remember the best day that I visited her, to tell her that I was going to university. I passed all my exams, I'd get really good marks. That was fine. And when I visited, I made her a coffee. And she went into the kitchen, and she said to me, this was her words, give me the clever, but you have no common sense. And the example here is, I've made the coffee, but I had left the milk sitting out in the counter. I hadn't put it back in the fridge. And of course, if the milk's left out in the counter, it's going to turn. So that's my example, but I think it comes with maturity. MM0RKN, back to neck control. MM0RKN, this is K2PKG, you're the second person to come. And you've heard you haven't got any common sense. And I often wonder what people mean when they say that. To me, it always sounds like you don't believe what I do. You don't have any common sense. And it's often used as an insult, which I think is, that's the interesting thing. But we've heard that from a couple different people. It is an insult when you say somebody doesn't have common sense. We'll find out. N9OFU Bill, what is common sense? And do you have any examples? Over to you. N9OFU, this is KC2PKG. Thank you, Greg. I've been refining my answer, my response. Because, I mean, just breaking down the word common, it's something that's common, something that everybody knows, kind of just takes for granted. Like if you take a loaded gun pointed at someone and pull the trigger, you're gonna shoot them. If you stick your hand in the fire, you're gonna get burned. If you snip the red wire instead of the blue wire, you're gonna blow up. No, just things that, because of shared experience, especially like here in the United States, I mean, it's not just a regional type thing, but there are some regional aspects to it. But it's things that everybody has in common as far as what they know, and then being able to implement it in your everyday life, like don't stick your hand in a fire, don't load a gun at somebody and pull the trigger. These things are just common sense things that you know if you do it, there's going to be an adverse result or effect or an effect that's going to be a result or a gun result or effect. But just based on what you want to achieve, doing the thing that you know is gonna get you to that point because there are some people out there that think if they do this or if they do that, nothing bad's gonna happen or something good's gonna happen and it doesn't because they don't have the common sense or the shared experience that other people have that would have known, no, that's not what you want to do if you want to achieve a certain goal. That's gonna achieve the opposite. So it's something that most people know or take for granted because of shared experience, shared experience, why everybody's seen this movie, everybody's heard of that story, so everybody knows that you don't want to do that and then someone comes along and does it because they didn't see that movie or they didn't hear that story and they thought that doing that would have a different effect even though everybody else knows that that was wrong. So it's a common experience, a common sense. Back to you. N9-OFU, this is KC2-PKG. One second. Had to clear my throat. Shared experience, shared knowledge, common knowledge that is common among groups of people. That's interesting. That's a very interesting thing to bring out. All right, Jeff, KM4-QVC. Tell me what common sense is and do you have an example? It's over to you, Jeff. This is KC2-PKG over to KM4-QVC. This is Repeater Station- KC2-PKG, KM4-QVC, well, great. All these answers have been really good. I don't have anything to add much. I like what Bill said and I like what Josh said. By the way, happy birthday, Josh. I just saw that on your wife, I think, did a Facebook post. So happy birthday from North Carolina. Anyway, on gray, I, you know, I told them I like what Bill said and what Josh said and what Chuck said to you, so I'll just leave it at that. But I do know this. I can tell you this, gray, I know people that have it and I know people that doesn't have it. I'm a pretty good judge on that side of it. KM4-QVC, back to you, bud. KM4-QVC, this is KC2-PKG. It's a very difficult question. I'm glad I'm asking it. And I'm finding out you're kind of educating me on what you're feeling about the phrase common sense. So I'm happy about that. Marie, KI7ODD, tell me what common sense is and can you cite an example? Over to you, Marie. Morning, Kevin. Morning, Terrell. Morning, Kevin. Morning, Josh. Everybody else is checked in. Yeah, not too much going on here now. We're just, you know, relaxing. Ah. Gotta go buy mom her birthday gift. Her birthday's tomorrow. She turns seven. She's bored of the world. Little buyer thing today, because I don't usually like to shop on Sundays. So I'll get it done today, and then it's all over with. So yeah. I don't have too many plans today, Kevin. Just that, maybe, and just to get the cans and bottles back to the bottle recycling place. Yeah, this probably needs 10 cents a can instead of five. So that's not too bad. So I've got three big bags in the garage, and shit I gotta take back. We'll do that today, and hopefully get them out of here. And then, yeah, we'll figure out what happens. We'll just play it by ear for the rest of the day to see what happens. So back to you, Kevin. I'll be here. E1WINKM1X. Yeah, the, uh, I mean, I don't drink a lot of soda or anything that comes in. I mean, I guess I drink bottled water, and that's a nickel a bottle. I don't even bother recycling. I figure that nickel is a tax that you pay on disposal. You know, they're like, OK, you can pay an extra five cents and dispose of it any way you want, or you can pay five cents and we'll give you your five cents back, you know, when you recycle. And I just don't want to, it would take so long for me to accumulate enough to return that I just pitch them when I get them. I mean, at work, if we have recycled bins and stuff, I'll toss them in there. But if I'm at home the rare times that I'm drinking soda or something in a bottle, I just toss it. I know that it's going to get picked out when they, you know, when they go through the trash anyway, so it'll end up getting recycled. So I'm not too worried about feeling that my bottle's going to end up in a landfill. All right, let's see, who's next? Josh, KJ5, IRQ, good morning to you, sir. How are you? Welcome to the Cowabunga Net. Sounds like that hot weather that you guys have had, you're going to share it with us. And I can't tell you how grateful I am. Can you hear the dripping sarcasm in that statement? Good morning, Josh. What are you up to today? Mikey's yours. KM1X, this is KJ5 IRQ. And a happy Sunday morning to you and to everybody participating and listening to the net today. I'm parked outside my son's work waiting for him to get out of work today. And that's a beautiful morning. That's a good old video of it. Oh, I'm going to work a little bit on the chicken coop when I get back until it gets too hot. And I don't mind sharing the heat, Kevin. I don't mind at all. Today's only going to be 104. You know, I've actually been grabbing about the heat this year, and I grab about it more and more every summer. I don't think it's really getting that much harder for us, to be honest. I mean, it's probably just as hot as it's ever been. But man, I'm sure I'm taking it harder. You know, I do not like the heat. As the great Dr. Seuss would say about green eggs and ham, I say the same about humidity and heat. I'm fixing to post a video I made on AI just messing around this morning on the drop-in Facebook and Discord pages. It's kind of cute and fun. They're all approved. And so, yeah, just messing around. You know, I am really enjoying just playing. I mean, I'm not trying to make magic personally off of it or playing work that isn't bad. I mean, for the sake of this space, AI makes the job a whole lot easier if you wanted to create something. Now that I've been doing it for a while, I wouldn't say I am a creator. I think I am more of a pump door. You know, with AI, you've got to pump it, and you've got to pump it just right. And the words mean everything. And the placement and grammar, I mean, it's almost like you have to be a linguistic expert to be a great prompter. So I don't know if anybody's interested in that, but that's kind of what I'm thinking about today. Like I said, playing us a little video stuff while I'm waiting on the kid to get out of work. The kid, he's not even a kid anymore. He's I think 21 now. Yeah, he ain't got a vehicle. That's a source of contention between us. That's because he'd rather spend his money coming to Florida or California rather than see what I'm getting in the car. So I had to put a front down for that the other day. So he's not super happy with Pop right now, but he'll be all right. Man, I can't even guess. It's going to be a great Saturday. I can feel it, OK? And my dogs are in the truck, and if you can't hear them yelling, every yelling, growling, every time somebody walks by, I say, they just want to say hello in the most unfriendliest germs possible. All right, I've burned up two minutes and 40 seconds. Welcome back to UKM1X, Kevin. I'm glad you're hosting this Saturday morning. Over to you. KJ5 IRQKM1X. It's funny you bring up AI because I am currently enrolled in an online course through Vanderbilt University on building my own EPT. It's pretty interesting how you can, I mean, what I'm going to end up building, I don't know for sure, but it seems pretty interesting. I think, I mean, I'm learning how to build one. I've got to determine what I would want to build it for. I mean, whether I want to incorporate it in work. You could easily, easily build one, for instance, for ham radio, for people that are looking to take, I mean, they have already these apps, but they're trying to take their license. I mean, you could have one for blind people, where it will read the questions from the question pool. And you could, rather than have to type in your answer, you could voice your answer and it would respond. And it always starts out with, you know, what teaching us is, how supportive do you want it to be? I mean, you could tell it to be over the top so that whenever you ask it something, it's just going to come back with this, oh my goodness, I am so glad you asked that question or something like that. Or, you know, it could be more professional. So it's pretty interesting. I've got to decide what I want to do with this skill when I'm done with it. But I figure, that's the way. I don't know, if I got to work for another 10 years, I could see a lot of jobs being eliminated from AI. So I got to try to stay ahead of the curve. So that's what I'm going to do. Ron, 884 HO, how are you today? I don't know about you, but I had an excellent day in the market yesterday. I will probably never have a better day than I had yesterday. And I expect there'll be some sell-off come Monday, but I'm thrilled with what happened yesterday. But I hope you're doing well. Is tonight a karaoke night, or is it a steak dinner night, or what's it going to be? Fill us in on your plans. Over to you, Ron. Yeah, good morning, Kevin. Good morning, Jeff. Everybody participating in the teleprompter net on the drop-in? I started scaling in as of Thursday. And I almost got three, but I'm going to wait till Monday. And you know how many I sometimes accumulate? It's getting to be the kind of market you can hold on to stuff a little longer and wait a little longer to sell. So I'll have to adapt to that. But I don't think I sell too soon, because most of the ones that I own that I sold, I can buy back now at a lower price, except for one. Let's see. I am looking at the ticket that I have that I had to pre-purchase for the rib dinner tonight that I'll be attending. I have it at the lodge that's closer to me. And I prefer the one closer to me, because I've got to drive between 8 and 10 miles for the other one. And if I can get two events in a week apart in one, and two in the other, that gives me enough to at least out once a week. I'm learning and playing with stepper motors right now. I got this laser projector a long time ago. It's about three years old. And it projects to the ceiling. And it's real nice. I enjoyed it. But the stars stopped bursting. And the background nebula stopped wisping. So I didn't know that at the time, it utilized stepper motors, which is the same motors like you would use if in an air conditioner, open and close looper doors, or in a camera, say, if you wanted to zoom in and zoom out. But they come in a whole host of different flavors. There's five and 12 volt ones with different diameters. The first two numbers designate the diameter. So the first one I bought was too small. And it was long voltage too, because I needed 12 volts. And then I went and bought another one. And then it was too big. I needed a 24 in diameter. And I got one that was 28 millimeters in diameter instead. But I really like this device. And I can't get a replacement device. I quite like it. The second one, I did buy another one while I was waiting for the part. And that one I wasn't happy with, because if it stays on for a little while, some of the stars disappear, because it overheats. I can't have that. So I bought a more expensive one. So when I fix this one, I'll have three of them. So I'll end up giving away one. But the one I got now is awesome. It covers a lot more of the ceiling, starburst. The door is going crazier. Hey, hey, hey. Some noise outside. All these patterns I'm looking at right now. And I'll add a wish, more windiness to the net right in the background. And beautiful different patterns that appear and disappear. And wheels and stars and everything. So I'm satisfied with that. I think definitely I'll keep the one I fixed. I got the right one this morning this time. And it's going to be your Sunday. And I'll be able to slap that in and keep that one, give away the one, the first one up, or keep the second one that's running right now. All right, guys, that's enough for me on this go around. I did look up the Beatles' White Album, number nine song. That's number one going into it. AA4-H-O on here. I'll throw it back to Kevin. Hey, hey, four-H-O-K-M1-X. We got a double that time. We got you and the dog. And yeah, the White Album, I mean, there are plenty of people that will argue that the White Album is the Beatles' greatest album. And I think that was the beginning of the end for the Beatles. That was when they were really, you know, in deep with the drugs. And I didn't care for it. I really didn't. And Revolution number nine is one of their worst songs. It's not even a song. It's just noise. So yeah, not a fan. And we'll leave it at that. Maybe I'm opening a can of worms here, but no, not a fan. KM4-QBC Jeff, good morning to you. How are you today? How's little dog? You guys making breakfast? What is it, sausage gravy? And biscuits? And how are the temperatures there? They're starting to curve back up. I know that Chuck was saying they were very nice the last few days. And what are your plans for the weekend? Well, what do you, my friend? KM4-QBC. Hopefully you can hear me okay. Kevin, I am using a different phone this morning to get on Echo Link. So I'm on call for work, so I have my other phone ready for that. So I am going to try to stay on the net, Kevin. But if you call me and I'm not there, just go ahead and take me on. And I'll text you if I'm able to come back, but we have one in jail right now. He got into it with his daughter last night, I think is what they said. But anyway, I've got to handle that. And then I've already fed little dog. She's good to go. She's already been outside and used the bathroom. I'm heating up the oven now for some, I think I will have some biscuits. Good idea, Kevin. Thanks for mentioning that. I think I'll have the biscuits. I think I'll go with the bacon and eggs this morning. So that's where I'm at. That's what I'm doing. And duty calls. So hopefully I'll be around, but if I'm not around the next time, just go ahead and take me off, Kevin, and I'll come back when I get all this done. And I'll text you if I'm able to reach on or I'll call back and text Washington or something. But everything's good, brother. It's 65 degrees. It's supposed to get up to 79. So temperatures are inching back up. It's just been so hot and muggy here, it's crazy. Welcome to the tropical rainforest, western North Carolina. The great Smokies and the Appalachian Mountain range. It's been hot this year, brother, I can tell you that. And we've had some pouring down rainstorms, too. Anyway, thanks for taking my call, Kevin, and I'll try to be around. We'll see how it goes. K.M. Port QVC. Good morning, everyone. K.M. 4 QVC, K.M. 1X. Well, we'll keep our fingers crossed that you're able to stay with us. You say 65. I've got 62 here, so we're not that far apart. And, yeah, we're supposed to get around 80 here today. And then tomorrow it's going to get even hotter. And then Monday and Tuesday we're in the 90s and the But it is August, and we got spoiled because the last 10 days, as I said, were perfect. Highs in the mid-70s, upper 70s, and just gorgeous. But we know that months from now we will have it all behind us, and then we creep back down towards winter. All right, now let's go to gray. GC2, PKG, and then we'll go to the blue. Now let's go to gray, GC2, PKG. Gray, I know you love the snow, but you've got to admit you've got to love this last week to 10 days worth of weather. It's been perfect. And how are things in your neck of the woods? What have you been up to? What's the cat count up to these days? Over to you. What's the cat count up to? AM1X, this is KC2, PKG. East was Chinese, Maine. What's the good news? Lizzie came back 4-3 this morning, climbed up in the window and started yelling at me. So that's a good thing. That's for a two-day walkabout. So that was a short one. And she is crashed. She got a lot to eat. She's got a lot of food. She got a lot to eat and then put her little head down and that was the end of her. I'm going to spend the day getting ready for dinner party tonight. We're having people from the food pantry over. Something my wife's wanted to do for quite a while. And it'll be a pretty good sized dinner. But I have a lot of picking up and cleaning up and straightening out and other stuff to do. And you know, I don't know how far they're going to walk around, how much exploring they're going to do. Because that means other rooms have to be put together and straightened out and all that stuff. So I'm hoping they all just stay in our kitchen, living room, dining room area. And I don't have to worry about it. I will have to make sure there's enough toilet paper in the nearby bathroom. But I've got that to do today. So it's going to be pretty busy. And as for the last 10 days being perfect weather, it's been nicer. It's definitely been nicer, but it's still hot. I'm still sweating bullets just from doing the least amount of stuff. But I'm not happy about that. I really cannot wait for the summer to be over. I really can't. And let's get more and more like that every year. And I still don't even have a boat in the water, which flabbergasts me. I cannot believe I'm having a fun time. Although guests are starting to come. Let me drop this for a second. Or guests are on their way. Tuesday, a really good friend of ours and his wife are coming, and they'll be down in the boathouse. And it might be Sunday tomorrow that there's some ranchers coming to Camp 2. And I think Camp 2 is completely ready, certainly for them. Because they don't have any animals or anything. There's some pet guards and things like that that we are going to finish up. My son will definitely need that, because he always brings his cats out in the woods with the cats. So that's what's going on here today, just sort of gearing up to clean up and straighten up and then be entertaining. So back to you. K.M.1X, this is KC2PKG. KC2PKG, K.M.1X. Wow, you guys are very, very busy between hosting the dinner party and then hosting the folks in the camps. You've got your hands full. And glad to hear the cats back. I think it's funny that you think the cats are having a good snooze now, like, you know, man, no big deal. But I hope the party goes well tonight. You'll have to keep us posted. Look forward to the proverbial post-mortem on Monday. And it sounds like Wes is feeling well, too. Better if she's finally able to host something like this. So that's good. Let's go to work now. K.M.1X, PFD. Good morning to you, sir. How are you today? I'm guessing that you're still making progress on your recovery. And what are your plans for the weekend? Over to you."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-25T07:04:41+00:00","id":24167,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":24166,"text":" KC2, PKG, KM4, QBC, well I don't know, Graham. I hadn't thought of that, but if it happens, it happens. I will try to abide by whatever they tell us to do, I guess. The area I live in, we have a lot of folks from Mexico that live here. They work, there are carpenters, block layers, cement, all kinds of stuff like that now. That pretty much are the workforce. But I know a lot of them personally, and I know a lot of them are not here legally, so they would probably be rounding them up, I guess. Some of them are good friends of mine. They try to do things the legal way, and it's just so difficult to do. They just take a chance on getting caught, and if they get caught, they get sent back, and they just come back the next week or two after that. It costs them about $1500 bucks. But anyway, one of them I talked to, one of the coyotes kidnapped him. He had to pay the $1500 twice. He held him out in the desert until his family came up with $1500 more. And the last time he got deported, he said, I'm not coming back. Too much hassle, I'm not coming back. Anyway, I don't know, Gray, it's sure living some wild times for sure. We'll see what happens, but right now everything's peace and love in Tuckasegee. I get to drive my Volkswagen today, so I'm glad for that. Back to work tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll make it in, I'll probably be in and out tomorrow. Thanks for doing the night, Gray, you always do an outstanding job. Pretty good weekend, gray all in all. That was very nice to sleep all night long on a full moon, on a blood moon. Couldn't believe it. All night was wonderful. So that's why I'm here. I woke up early because I slept good. So just getting up and just ready to start breakfast here. So you can keep me on your list. I do work a 24 Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday. So I try to be on all I can and just have to see how the nap time goes. Anyway we've got one magistrate came back and we'll have one other one go out. So we're still filling in quite a bit for the one that's out but it's a little more reasonable this time than it was last month. So hopefully it will be good. Other than that I had a good weekend. Yeah everything went well. I love hearing Chuck talk about the antennas also. I've got one to put up but I'm gonna wait until all the leaves come down and put it up. It's one of those RG75s or whatever it's called. RG15s or something. Supposed to do all bands. It's a long last call I know that. So I'm gonna try to get it up pretty high in the air. He shrugged his shoulders and just turned his head and chuckled about it. And since then, I mean, he's unleashed more hell than he's ever released in Ukraine since the war started four years ago. Oh man, you could go off for such a vacation. Just hit the roads. Speaking of hitting the roads, my driver this morning, Don, he's a friend of mine as well. We talk outside of him just driving me. And we're friends online and stuff. And he saw the bike in the driveway just now that I got. And now he's got the itch to have a quad again. So he said, don't be surprised. He said, if I message you by the end of the day and say, yeah, I bought a quad and I'm coming up for a run. We may just have another quad rider in the group. Brother-in-law's had his quad packed in my driveway since Saturday or Friday, maybe, because he was using it to get back and forth from here to his place and back and forth, just grabbing a few things. He didn't have to drive the SUV. Because of course, around here, as you guys know, you can ride ATVs in the street. And there's a few places here in Newfoundland. And I found out why we're kind of exempt from the quad riding in the road type of thing in this part of town and as well as a couple more parts of town, because it qualifies as farming equipment. And there was exemptions before Shay Heights joined St. John's and before this other area called the Goulds joined St. John's. There was exceptions for being allowed to have farming and construction equipment on the roads up here around the neighborhood, as long as you're not driving fast. So I didn't realize that that's why we were allowed. But yeah, apparently there's an exemption in there with the city bylaws to do with farming equipment. And ATVs classify as that. So whether or not they're going to be checking to make sure everybody has a farm, I don't think so, because it just generally exempts ATVs as farm equipment. So that's how we get away with it. People have asked me that over the years, and I didn't know. And I only found out recently that that's why. As long as you're obeying traffic rules and you're not speeding, that type of thing, you should be OK. And I've been OK. You guys know I've gotten pulled over twice by the law. And they never gave me any trouble. They ran my ID, gave it back to me, and told me to ride safe. So that's good. All right, we're going to Jeff next, KM4, QVC. But I get where you're coming from, too. And yeah, I don't wave guns at my neighbors. In fact, most of my neighbors are probably carrying guns. Just like I do. So that'd be dumb. That would be really dumb. Anyhow, let's move past and see that Jeff, KM4, QVC. You're the next one on my list, buddy. But before I pass it to you, I did do a real quick search for other red laws. In fact, I'm really thinking, Reneen, I know, I know. And many, I don't know why this is a weird Texas law. You don't tell me if this is weird. It doesn't seem weird to me. It says that many Texas jurisdictions paying a traffic citation is treated as entering a guilty plea. Actually, I didn't know that. It actually says it on our tickets that if you accept it and pay it, then you've accepted a guilty plea. So yeah, a lot of people don't do that. They go to court. So there is that.
