Kind of sad that the humidity is creeping back in. We're going to get some rain this afternoon, but it's not too hot. So, it's going to be okay. I want to do some cleaning around the house today. I was going to actually wash windows. But, then when I saw that it was going to rain, I thought I'll hold off. So I'm just going to try to stay inside today. You know, do some dusting, some vacuuming, stuff like that. And, who knows? I might just open a book and relax and chill this afternoon. Because this is probably going to be the last weekend off that I get for a while. My brother is here from Vermont. And he's visiting with my parents and basically giving my sister and I a break so that we don't have to run up. This weekend and tend to the folks. So, I want to make the most of it. My sister is going camping this week. And mom has a doctor's appointment, I believe, on Thursday. So, I'm probably going to have to take the day off to take them to the doctor's. So, in a way it's good because it just means a four-day week. And that Thursday we'll really break it up nice. And then I'm on vacation next week. But, I don't think it's going to be much of a vacation. Because I'm probably going to be spending a good time up there with them. Dad's been complaining that the house is filthy. And it's like, well, I think his house is a lot cleaner than mine. But, if it means going up and trying to take that excuse from him, I'll go up and help him clean and get that taken care of. But today I'm looking forward to just chilling. So, I'll be around listening here. For days you know I'm just not feeling well or something like that or my stomach's upset and I don't want to eat. Man they really do, they're nice and thick, they're very tasty. They taste like milkshakes but apparently they're not milk, they're something else. But they're high protein and they've got lots of vitamins and minerals in them. And I've been drinking a lot of water this morning because I don't feel well. And my stomach is not well here this morning for sure, I know that for a fact. So I just hadn't had one in a while and so I was thinking about lunch and I was like oh I don't want to eat anything. So I was like oh I'll have one of those shakes. And it was really tasty, it was a strawberry one. Last time I bought them I got some online, had a good price, someone was selling some of them. And I got a good price on them, I got them for $5 per six pack. I think they're normally like $15 per six pack. So I picked up four a while back, several months ago. And I barely ever drink them. I had a six pack of vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and maybe one more strawberry. I can't remember, I remember I bought 24 bottles for $20 which I thought was a good deal. Because 24 bottles of this stuff would normally be probably $40 or $50 maybe, I don't know. But anyway my point is I just drank it and I really liked the taste of it. It was kind of delicious actually. Tasted like a milkshake, like I said. Alright, what do I got going on here now? I don't think I'm going to eat it. Okay, excuse me, okay. We're going to Kevin. K-M, give me the hiccups. K-M1X, you're up. Final comments. The new KZ, K-M1X, did you know, fun fact, the second largest selling album of all time was released today in 1980. Michael Jackson as you may know with Thriller was the best selling album of all time. But number two is ACDC's Back in Black. And that came out 45 years ago today. Now what floors me is what number three is. Number three has sold more albums than Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon which is number four. The Eagles Greatest Hits which is number five. Eagles Hotel California which is number six. In never in a million years would I have said that the number three best selling album of all time is the soundtrack to The Bodyguard. What the hell? I don't know anybody who owns that album. The soundtrack to The Bodyguard. That blew me away to know that. But I'm going to have to listen to Back in Black today in honor of its release 45 years ago today. Alright that's it from me. I hope everybody joins me tomorrow morning at 730 am Eastern for the Saturday morning edition of The Caliber Minute. With that I hope everybody has a good day today. But again, what happens if you hear something you really don't want to hear? Now all of a sudden you're involved in something. There's a plot line for a movie right there. So, yeah, that's interesting. Alright, look at the clock. We've got to start the 73 round, so we're going to go back up to the top of the list and try to wrap this up. So we're going to go to Darrell first, V01 UKZ Final Comments for the Saturday morning. November Quebec November, All Star Node 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. There you go. My phone was locked in my pocket. I just got the headset on, I'm standing outside here. There's Burn and One, you know, good Saturday morning toke, you know, first thing in the morning. Really enjoyed the night, Kevin. I got to say, it was definitely a good one. And Shadow wants to come out. Come on, bud. Meow. He's got a strange little meow. He's a big old cat, but he's got this quiet little meow to him. It's kind of strange. Anyway, just like to invite everyone to stick around for the Worldwide Friendship Net, which is coming up next here on Do Drop In. I will go ahead and disconnect Michigan for the time being because I do assume we will probably run over. Which is cool. You know, we have as much time as you do, Kevin. So yeah, I'll just say 73 then. Again, great net. V883. V883, KM1X. Well, it went by fast, I'll tell you that much. And yeah, I'm just sitting here at the stove, so I am, I got time. And we're glad you were able to join us, bright and early this morning too. So, come again! You all come back now, you hear? V883, KKY. Kevin, final comments from you. Hey, yeah, it was a lot of fun today. I had a lot of fun on the net. We'll look forward to hearing the events of the Nauternet controllers. Ready to take the helm. And yeah, my ex-girl Vicki was really annoying with what she thought she knew. A lot of times our fight was just that, right? Because I would get irritated and just belt her really hard. And say, well, I guess you didn't see that coming, did you? And you know, sometimes I would punch her right in the ribs. Knee her right in the chin. You know, when she was trying to pick something up. My favourite was just hitting her while she was in the middle of talking. I just liked that, right? Because she would get all uppity and obnoxious. So then suddenly she would be talking and then squealing and screaming when she gets punched in the ear. And then I'm like, I bet you didn't see that coming. And I think years later she told people, well, I guess I was wrong in a way because I didn't see the abuse coming or whatever. So yeah, that was years and years and years ago. I tested it on her beliefs too. Like one day I squeezed her neck real hard. I said, what invisible man do you believe in now? So, I said, if you really believe in an invisible man like that, why is he letting me squeeze your neck? So, you gotta challenge people on those things, you know what I mean? Otherwise they're just half cocked. And I think later on, when she was in another relationship, they were tired of her supposed clairvoyance. So, she got smashed in the head with a beer bottle and had to get stitches. I bet you didn't foresee that, slut. So, there you go. That's what you do with mind readers. Seriously. Test these people. Don't just let them always be like half cocked all the time. And test a believer. Alright, well I believe I better get up out of here. But you guys have a good fat day. And we'll look for you on Sunday, alright? Because it's Saturday today. Saturday, Saturday. Take care, Kevin. VA3KKY. VA3KKY KM1X, you have a good rest of your day and weekend. And maybe we'll talk to you tomorrow morning. Now we're going to go down to Josh. JJ5IRQ. Final comments from you today, sir? Alright, alright. Good morning. I am finally fully awake at the end of the day. Believe that or not. It is 8.50 here. I have done a few things honestly. I dug out my Ender 3 3D printer. I haven't used it in a while. And actually I'm really thinking about selling it. I've been back and forth on it. But me and my wife talked about it yesterday. And she might want to take a crack at my hand at this finally. So, yeah. I'm setting that back up this morning. It's the Ender 3 Max Neo. It has a custom, not custom, but it has an aftermarket into extrusion. Do you like jabs? So it's just about all those little weird things that used to come on these things. So, yeah. I guess I could have made it look great. But today is still a good printer. So maybe you could put this in if you can figure this darn thing out. I've done a few things on it. I did a little bit here and there. I came up with a CNC router for it. It's basically a 3D printer but it's for work. It's just cards rather than prints. And I used that for, gosh, six, seven years. It was fun. But then of course I got bored of it. I traded it one for one for this Ender 3 setup. And it comes with a aftermarket Sonic pad too. It's pretty cool. It's like a little tablet that controls it so you don't have to have a computer to touch it. So anyhow, yeah. We're going to dig that out. I'm getting cleaned up right now. I'm going to hook it up and set it up for the life. And maybe in the next few years, in the next few years, longer than three weeks or four weeks or so, there's more of a big-time market place that we'll grow. I guess with that I will say 73's. That's the final product I think of today. Kevin, thank you for that. Thanks for hosting. And we'll leave everybody here again tomorrow. KJ5 IRQ, back to the next room. KJ5 IRQ KM1X. Well, good luck with the printer stuff. And thank you for joining us this morning. Hope you have a great weekend. Uh, Rowan AA4 HO. Now it's your turn for final comments. Over to you, my friend. Nancy Kevin. I have my trusty HT ready and these headphones time out. They've been on an extended period of time. They're going to cut off any second. You know, and then I've got to restart them and everything. So I've got my all-star ready just in case. Great net. And, uh, had a good time. The time went by really quick and there were some great questions. And, uh, it was really entertaining. I'll see everyone tomorrow, Sunday. And I'll have a report about, uh, if my, uh, stepper motor gets here, uh, before the net starts. But it might come tomorrow after. Uh, that's been an interesting project. It's taken me to places in electronics that I haven't been before. Uh, okay Kevin, I'm going to turn it back to you. It just beeps when you press it. It's typically the pause button, you know, for music and stuff like that, but yeah, either way. No big plans, man. Take the bike out for a ride. Shortly after lunch, I think. I straightened it all up yesterday. The air intake is still a little wonky. It's still sucking a little bit of air that it shouldn't be. But, um, it's all good. I checked it over yesterday. It's off like a shade on the bottom. I don't know, it's just not fitting right. Maybe I don't have it lined up right or something. I'm not doing something right. And, um, I'd like to be able to figure that out, but I don't really know this stuff so well, right? I mean, I'm not a mechanic. I wish I was. Because then I could do this stuff really quickly and very efficiently, but with me, it's like trial and error, watch a YouTube video. Let me reset. Yeah, it's like trial and error, watch a YouTube video, pause it, you know, do a little tinkering, watch some more video. You know, that's the way it is when it comes to my level of, uh, mechanisies. But, at least I try. Hope everything's going good with you, Kevin. Yeah, I went to sleep last night, I mean, you know, at like 10.30 or something. And I woke up a couple times throughout the night, which is typical for me, and, um, went to the door and called my cats and managed to get all three of them in by like 4 o'clock or 4.30. Uh, the worst thing about this is because when I get Shadow in, it's all well and good, right? But then when I'm trying to get Dewey in, Shadow's trying to get back out. So the whole time I'm calling Dewey, I'm like, like trying to fight off a predator on the inside of the door here, right? He's like trying to climb me, he's trying to jump over my shoulder, he's jumping up on the counters. He's like doing everything he can to find a little inch to squeeze out. And that's where it gets frustrating, because trying to hold him in when he wants out is near on impossible. But other than that, Kevin, I won't keep it down too long, man. Um, I am here, and should be here, because I'm not tired, so, um, I got plenty of sleep. I was actually awake about an hour before the net started this morning, so, um, and I woke up and everything was still connected, which is great, because I did it before bed last night, and, uh, everything stayed up. So, we're still having a minor, let me reset one more time. We're still having some minor internet issues up here. It's very sporadic now, um, but it is still happening. I did notice that wonky behavior last night with the All-Star Note again, with the repeater kept disconnecting, everything kept disconnecting, so, I don't know. It's on my parents right now, anyway. I was talking to my old man about it last night, and he's been experiencing some issues, too, so, um, we're ever so closer to calling the company. You wouldn't think that would be so difficult, but with my parents, oh, man, it's difficult. Um, I'll be here, V01UKZ with the cowabunga net. V01UKZ, KM1X, well, glad to hear you got a good night's sleep, and, uh, sounds like it's gonna be a great day weather-wise, at least here, and I'm sure over there, because we've had great weather the last few days, so I would think our weather is making its way over to you. And so, uh, a good day to, uh, be well-rested, I think, um, and if you can get that bike fixed, um, it's certainly gonna be a great day to be out and about. I know that, uh, I, uh, I'm gonna be busy inside making spaghetti sauce today, and you were talking about your technical issues. My, uh, local 2-meter repeater has been, for the better part of the last month, we've had some, uh, Alpha Hotel who has been, uh, basically jamming. It started out there is a, uh, a weekly net on Sunday evenings, and this person started out by jamming that net. And now it's he or she has, uh, taken to just, throughout the day, uh, doing jamming, either just, you know, kurchunking non-stop, or once they hear people talking, uh, they'll just, uh, start playing music. I don't even know how they're doing this. But you would think that since it's been going on, I mean, sometimes they'll just shut the whole repeater down so that no one, including the jammer, can get on it, but that kind of defeats the purpose. Um, and other than, you know, trying to do a little fox hunt, um, which is gonna take a lot of resources, I think, I don't know how they're gonna get, catch this guy, to be honest with you. Um, but hopefully, uh, it won't last much longer, because it's getting to be a bit of a pain. So, I understand what you're going through there, Jarrell, with the stuff that you're working with to try to get the system, you know, running properly. And we thank you for your service. Alright, let's go to Kevin, VA3, KKY. Kevin, what's going on, brother? Uh, you got a big weekend plans? Uh, and, uh, Wendell, what, does school go year round for you where you work, or were they out for the summer, and are they gonna be starting up again here soon? Uh, over to you, Kevin. Well, uh, it's a regular year, as far as I know, right to where we kinda know the school year starts out, uh, on Labor Day, uh, holiday, and usually ends, uh, somewhere, somewhere in the middle of June before July, like, uh, the, the, uh, well, I know last year, cause, see, I don't even remember what it was this year, it was like the 28th or something, so it was really cool. So it was really close to July that, uh, the kids were off. Um, and let's see, how is everybody? I hadn't been in here forever. Um, I, I just been sleeping through a lot of the nets, and just work, work, work, work, work, I, you know, got some messages about certain things happening, yep, mute the manic situation, don't be heaps cool, okay, I got that. Uh, I wasn't hostile about it ever. I was most just like, look, how you go pick up a job like Sunday and then just walk away from it. So I had said that, I remember I had said that, and, uh, I guess at some point I was just gonna ask, I was just gonna ask to recall it, and, uh, I hadn't changed when I said, hey, look, if you're gonna be crazy, you know, I mean, come on then, uh, how's that gonna work out? Don't give yourself important jobs if you're out of your mind. So that's all I said, uh, I remembered it while I was off, but I, I, I've said it in, uh, occasional Q-Soles. We had a pretty, uh, crazy and important hip-hop death that took place on Monday, Howie, uh, Howie T from, uh, Full Force. And he was a big producer, right? He produced like a lot of groups, the Real Rock Band, a few others. He passed away, and, uh, I don't know how he, how the hell that happened. I suddenly heard, hey, if TMZ doesn't know, um, then you're pretty much screwed. There is supposed to have a, there's supposed to be a pipeline on all of this, so if they have no idea, then, uh, then you're messed up. Uh, well, that is kind of why I walked away from regular 2-meters here in Toronto. Uh, it kind of started before the 2000s. Yeah, there were too many jammers on, nobody was doing anything about it. The repeat owners seemed to just kind of, uh, let it, you know, roll through. They took it in their strides, and I was like, I'm out of here. Um, there's, there's, yes, people from Scarborough. Not only does that, but a lot of times, you know, when people do the, the, the conjunctive and keying up. Um, and I said this in the 90s, I honestly think sometimes it's hands that are bored, because you just kind of figure no one's gonna see what you're doing, so that you can get away with, uh, keying up your mic 30,000 times. Uh, and yeah, a T-hunt works. Usually it does. Usually when people know you've found them, it kind of changes the game a little bit. Of course, too, they can play the game forever to where, uh, you still have to find them. So I got tired of a lot of it, and I at least ostensibly knew somewhere like Echoing would be, uh, immune to it. And for the most part, it usually is. Um, it's kind of like on Do-Drop. I think the majority of the, uh, heckling and the bad T-ups would come from the RF gateways where people, where you couldn't do anything about it, right? Like here. Um, if somebody came in on someone's particular RF, all you'd be able to do is mute them and just kind of know, okay, maybe something's coming across Darrow or something's coming across someone else. Uh, but you know, it happens all the time across, uh, systems where, you know, there's these little links people are gonna be able to get through on HTs, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. But for the most part, um, well, cause one of the people that I used to hate here in Scarborough, he's just a major stooge. Everybody makes fun of him. It's this guy, Bruce, VA3YTV. You know, he's a black and white, right? It's one reason. And another reason is, if you get him talking, he speaks like a speed freak, right? And he, it's like a lot of hot air. And so it was like, okay, well, guys like that don't go to heckling. And so there was that situation. And then, um, we would also kind of avoid, there were certain characters and certain people we avoided just because they were just known to be bad. Like one was the Barra, right? Uh, the Buffalo Amateur Radio Association. It got around to blind people that they're not very friendly to us, so stay off their systems. They used to be all over the place. So when you lived, at least in the footprint of it, you know, 90 miles, um, and for a while I lived in, um, Medina, where my mother's lived for many years. You couldn't avoid it. It's like they were everywhere. So the best thing to do, um, it used to be said that those losers don't get on Echolink. Another one that's really bad, uh, we just didn't get off on the right foot. He ended up, he used to block me all the time when he would see me with that dick Langer, WB2JPQ. I think honestly he's as bad as what they say about some of the Barra guys. He now runs East Coast Reflector. I don't know how they do or what they do. I just never, never would be a part of anything he's a part of. So then in turn, anything they're a part of. So through the blind community and through other people, he's gotten a bad name. Um, and, uh, some people call him a common CB'er, so he's somebody to avoid. So there was a lot of characters that I kind of walked away from just even getting on Echolink. Um, certain aspects are still there and other aspects, uh, it's basically, uh, you know, a safe haven up to a certain point. Cause I think here, mostly you're almost totally protected from trouble. I mean, you'll get some on occasion, but mostly it's, it's easy. It's a lot easier to filter. So I even say, if you would have asked me in the nineties going into the two thousands, I would have said, why would you even want to go on any of the local frequencies? I would have said, they're pretty stupid yo. Who wants to get on and talk to, um, uh, Lloyd, uh, Midnight on Seminole Street and doesn't have a license in the first place? Or, uh, what is it Dan, the caretaker? That's who he was on CB? So he uses the E3IS."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T05:35:33+00:00","id":16077,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16076,"text":" KM1X, KM1X, KM1X."},{"callsign_confidence":0.8700000000000001,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T07:26:39+00:00","id":16106,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16105,"text":" I think Kevin is working, but we'll try once again. So yeah, with me getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning and feeding him around 4 10, 4 15, he's got his biological clock going. And he woke me up. And right now, he's sitting there. And I can't tell if he's sleeping. There's a new thing going on. And he's hard of hearing. And his eyesight's not good. And he's really old. So I don't know, because he's going to be 18. And we will talk to you soon. Go ahead. Keep getting better. Keep getting stronger. And enjoy the bike. Who's next? D. D KN4LBF. Final comments from you this morning, D. This is KN4LBF. This is D. No, no. I'm just going to go head out and do a couple of things around the house. It's not too hot out here. It's like a little below 90 right now. It's going to hit a little over 90 later. So I'm about to get some stuff now. There's a space between my fence and another person's fence. And a lot of weed is growing in this small space. And I want to get a weed chopper back there and get it done and spray some stuff or keep it under control. So that's what I'm thinking about doing today. Maybe more, maybe tomorrow. I don't know. Anyway, 73s and clear. Back to the net. All right, KN4LBF KM1X, you have a great weekend. Now we'll go to Ben. VE3FDX. Final comments from you today, sir. KM1X versus VE3FDX. Just thanks for doing the net, kid. It's been a great day. The depression was amazing. And hopefully I'll be back and see everybody tomorrow. Sounds good. I think that the Sunday, Gray is right, the Sunday nets are so informal and relaxed that you can come, talk for a couple minutes, leave, or stay for the whole thing or whatever. It's very relaxed. And I kind of like that. N9, OSU, Bill. Your turn. Final comments. All right, thank you, sir. And just getting ready to start the day here. Sort of eating. But I did clean up all the poop in the backyard. And now I'm cleaning up myself. So I will say 73, catch everybody out here, tomorrow morning on the cloud above my net. And this is N9, OP, saying so long. All right. If there's water, I can't see. How many years? Turn us around. All right. OK, OK, OK. Let's see, who's next? Who is now Ms. Kateri? Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. Final comments, Terry. Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. Where a JKL, if he was his own match as a young lady, I was married to her, he wouldn't be here. I can guarantee you. She was cooking, and she put her hand in the knife for her. I had to risk that and tweak her on the feathers. I walked by her, and one of the brothers I walked by her, when I looked down, there was a shirt track in my belly. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Yeah, yeah. You wouldn't have messed around with that Cha Cha Jerky girl, I'll tell you that. That's what that girl was. She is and was a good kid. But when they don't trust you, they got to turn them loose. Anyway, not a lot else going on here. I think it looks like we might actually be on our house in the sunshine. Looks like it's going to be 87 degrees by 5 o'clock today. And the rains are still in the Oregon area. Hopefully we don't have any there. Oh, that's another thing. The fallout in Oak Ridge is almost contained. I think it was probably started by the railroad 87MR back to the group. Have a great radio day. 87MR out. 87MR KM1X, you have yourself a great day too, Terry. Thank you for joining us this morning. And now we'll go down to WA6 ABC for final comments. KM1X from WA6 ABC. Well, thank you for including me in on today's festivities. Appreciate it. Glad I got in at the end. And nice hearing from the people that I did hear from. And always lovely. Always lovely whenever I come. So nice to hear everybody. And I guess we'll just close it down there. Going to take care of some cats. I got to jump in the shower. Got done with my work. Got a few bits of paperwork to handle here. Should be an OK day. Thanks very much. Off to work. And nice to hear everybody. Hopefully I'll be able to come in tomorrow and listen to the Sunday news. From WA6 ABC, Mike Linn, Rockaway Beach. God bless everybody. It really does. I mean, you're right though. Kids do eat at school because they sometimes don't have food at home. In fact, a lot of times, I actually did a pretty deep report a few weeks back. And I can pull it up as a deep report. I was testing out deep research on CPT-4-0, which did a very good job. I like CPT-4-0 better than like GPT-5, by the way. It came back with, I'm trying to remember the number, four million hungry kids in the United States. Four, now that's a ballpark number. Four million hungry kids in the United States. Surely, that's not a left or right problem, but it is. And they can't even come together to work on that. And that's why I have no respect for either political party. That's just one of many reasons, but that's a big reason. Four million hungry kids. Yes, we're giving adults sex change surgeries, and we're giving prisoners transitional gender stuff to make them feel more comfortable. Yes, while we have four million kids starving at home. I don't care whose fault it is. They're starving at home and their kids. That should be the number one priority of any administration, but it isn't. And so, yeah, that's why I don't like either party. Now, Kevin, K.M., 1X, one of Adele's questions. He wants to know what is the best thing or your favorite thing that Trump has done since coming back to office. The mic is yours. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven. No, let's see. All-star notes. There is the immigration thing. And I really, I mean, has it been flawless in how their methods were? No. But, you know, when you're looking at a scope, you know, getting tens of thousands of people, is one or two going to shift in there? Yeah. So I have zero problems with that. With the way that's been handled. The fact that Doge, I love what Doge did. I didn't necessarily agree with all the things that got cut, but the fact that someone finally addressed that there was a lot of vote that needed to be cut, I'm in support of. You know, the fact that they put the kibosh on this USAID thing, which basically was funneling money to both political parties, but primarily the Democratic Party as we're seeing. You've seen, well, those in the text box, I've had no problem whatsoever with cutting funding to NPR and PBS. If those are public, let the public fund them. And those that use it can fund it. And since those are typically, you know, watched by the rich, then let them fund it. And so that's easy enough. I mean, that's a pay to play thing, you know. And sadly, I think that, you know, again, that both of those entities, public radio and television, has gone off the rails in the last decade or two. And so they've lost the support of the majority of people. I do think that the Democrats are, oops, let me pause. The Democrats are starting to panic because, you know, USAID isn't going to be, you know, sending money to these NGOs that are then funneling it back to their political parties. And so they're starting to panic on how they're going to handle things. Let's see. What else has he done? I mean, Doge was a big one for me, a big, big, big one. He's dewoked the federal government, which I think is great. The proof is going to be in the pudding in the midterms, I think. I believe the New York Times had an article in the last week or so about how the GOP has actually increased, you know, registered voters. Quite a bit. And that the Democrats are losing voters. Younger males are definitely lining up with the GOP now. So if we're looking at, you know, trying to draw the younger folks, it doesn't sound like they're getting, you know, the younger votes. So that must be deeply concerning. But again, the proof will be in the pudding in the midterms. And, you know, if the vote is overwhelming again, you know, then what happens? I think it's going to start, you're really going to see some drastic measures with regards to, you know, trying to take Trump out. And again, don't be surprised if another bullet flies. I'm surprised he was able to get away with walking the streets of DC last night without some kind of shenanigans. But yeah, that would be my answer. So back to you, Josh. KM1X, over to you."},{"callsign_confidence":0.97,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T06:03:55+00:00","id":16087,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16086,"text":" Alright, N0BM. Good answer. Good answer, every day is magic. Alright, KM1X. Kevin, take a shot at this question. Do you believe in any kind of magic? And you can define it yourself. This is KC2PKG. KC2PKG KM1X. Let's just get, I mean, there's magic. You know, it comes down to the definition. I mean, you know, the Penn and Teller magic is not real magic. I mean, it's all fake. It's sleight of hand or whatever. So that's not real. They call it magic. Based on your definition of not being invisible, you know, then technically, you know, the microwave oven is a magic box that will, you don't see anything, but all of a sudden the food gets hot, you know? So I guess, you know, it's a fine line, I guess, in defining what is magic and what is faith. And I don't know who it was that said it, but you know, about religion, a couple of references to religion have been made. You know, you can't see it, but that's what makes it faith. You know, you believe in it because you can't explain it. And there are things that can't be explained that you can't see. The microwave oven can be explained, even though you can't see it. So is it magic? You know, we just have a faith that when we push the buttons on the box, that whatever comes out, it's gonna be hot. You know, things like that. So yeah, I would say, I believe that there are things out there that can't be explained, but I believe that it exists, and that's, I guess, where faith comes in. I don't know, and that I would slap the magic term on it, because again, you know, I think of magic as, you know, a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat and all that. And it's not really pulling it out of thin air. It's hidden somewhere. I mean, it's all, you know, it's fake. So there you go. KM1X, back to you. KM1X, this is KC2, PKG. You know, there was this great story, and I wish I could remember the title, but it was about a land where there, witches and wizards, and the most dangerous person in the land was the magician. And he worked like a regular magician. He had tricks that he could execute. And they were all terrified of it, because there was no beating him. No beating him at all. All right. Ooh, backed by popular demands, W0GL. Alan, is there magic? Tell us what you think. This is KC2, PKG. Well, do you believe in magic? Wasn't that a song by the turtles back in the 60s? Oh, anyway, I do. I want to say one more thing about magicians. You know, the act where they throw the knife at the girl in the bowbird. They actually toss a knife behind them. That knife comes out from behind the board. I saw that a while back. But yes, I believe in magic. Anything that happens, that's unexplainable, which has already been said, is magic. Anything that you think, maybe in advance, and then it happens, that could be magic. Poresight, I don't know what. Anyway, W0GL, back to that. All right, the unexplained. We may have a question sometime when you can talk about your experiences that were not there. Not where? Not from this universe. Have you ever been somewhere, felt something, done something that was impossible to explain? So we'll say that one for another day because we have another question here. And first I'm going to see if anybody else wants to check in. So if you'd like to get in on the conversation, this morning, Monday, August 11th, this is the cowabunga, this is the place to do it. Talk about anything you want. And the next thing we're going to talk about is the note 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. For now, I just want to hear your call sign. This is KJ5IRQ. And yeah, I don't think we have any plans today. My wife is not feeling well. She started feeling down yesterday. It's to be expected, you know, kids start school, they come home sick. Little man has the snuffles and now the wife's not feeling well. So I think we'll probably just veg out today. I cooked a big old pot of, we call it po'boy stew. It's basically hamburger soup. We haven't had it in a long time. And it hit the spot yesterday. So we had cornbread and hamburger soup. And I made it differently this time of course because of the way we've been eating. I used very good grass-fed beef. And then I strained it very well for a good 30 minutes after I cooked it just to make sure I got all the grease out. Grease is a killer for me. I guess you can't catch it. Oh, excuse me, I got the hiccups this morning. I probably could have called them banana out of the eight. But yeah, that's about it. I'm mowed back weekend so I don't need to do that this weekend. I really can't think of anything. I did find out that I can play Xbox games on my tablet yesterday. I'm not a super big gamer, but I've been playing Call of Duty Mobile for a while. And I'm bored with it. Believe it or not, I'm ranked pretty high. I can beat 97.2% of all ranked players. So I'm bored with it. So I'm looking forward to the new game. I'm really thinking about playing Oblivion. It's an Elder Scrolls game. It's the one that came out before Skyrim. But they remastered it and it looks phenomenal. So I am thinking about playing that. But my problem with Elder Scrolls is once I get into them, I don't get out. It sucks me in. That's why I don't play those games. But I have not played an Elder Scrolls game in a very long time. And I'm finding someone to be alive the next time the next one comes out. I mean, I'm sure I will be, but gosh, it's been 15 years, I think, since the last one came out. Oh, geez, let's see. I don't have any work to catch up on this weekend. And the weather is going to be humid and warm. So what are we doing outside things? So I don't know. I kind of used this time to figure out what I was doing and I didn't figure it out myself. So there you go. With that, I'll send it back. I'm just now, still, waking up. I woke up on the go, tried to get on the net. And I couldn't connect to do drop in. Do drop in too. I did get in on Michigan for a split second. That was after I texted the group and asked them if there was net issues. And then when I got off, I got back off of that and I tried to do drop in too again. And I was finally able to get in on do drop in too. So I don't know what the issue was. I forget it's my internet, but you never know. Okay, sending it back to KM1X. Thanks for the time and I'm here for the duralation. So you will be on a team and we will see how this works out. There will be more work on my part but I think from your standpoint, you can sit back and relax and hopefully have some fun. And if it turns out to be a giant bust, no big deal. We will go back to our regular scheduled programming the following week. But hopefully, rest was all you need Missy. And you can look forward to the new apartment and carrying on. And hopefully, this bronchitis is just a seasonal thing and you'll be able to say, well I got all that out of my way, may I move the systems back up to snuff and I'm good for the winter. Well, the game is probably going to be played fairly early into the net. Preferably, there will be like 10 or 12 people signed in at that point, and then we can have teams of five and six. Because once it, you know, like right now we have, well there's, what have we got, 14 people on here right now I think, or maybe 13. And that's a little too many I think. It might be a little tough. I should say you're familiar with the game, but you know, even if we only had eight people, and again it depends on where, you never know how many people are going to come in first thing on a Saturday morning. So it'll be interesting, and you know, if it turns out to be a big giant bust, then you know, we'll strap it. But if it's a hit, then maybe we'll add it to the rotation. I'm still going to keep you hanging. VE3-FBX, Bentley. Good morning to you sir, again. You have $1 million to give to the charity of your choice, but it can only be one charity. Like always I woke up and gave gratitude. And you know yesterday I was really lazy so I went out for dinner. We went into the sandwich shop and my husband got some sandwich for himself and it was a sushi station. So I went into the sushi station and I got California rose and a veggie something. I stopped eating raw stuff a long time ago because of when they gave that thing about a 30 foot worm in someone's stomach from eating sushi I was like well let me just pass it up from now on. So I don't eat raw anymore. So I ate the California one for dinner yesterday and this morning I was going to have the veggie one. So when I bit into it to my disappointment it was slivered celery. I was sitting on a pack I was just taking a chance. So I'm kind of disappointed that I spent $8 for slivered celery. Anyway so I don't have much to do this weekend. I'm going to relax. It looks it's pretty cool there's no sun right now so I'm able to go in the backyard and try to most of my stuff in the backyard has dived for this summer and I tried to keep it up and you know with the heat I couldn't go out there so I'm going to go over there and clean up some stuff that kind of like passed away on me. Anyway back to you Kevin this is KN4LBF this is D. KN4LBF KM1X. Well something we all had some interesting foods to eat in the last day or so. You had your stuff. I ate at an Indian restaurant yesterday for the second time and it wasn't bad. I always I don't even dare say I want anything you know they say do you want it mild or medium or you know super hot and I just say mild I don't even want to go down that path of you know burning my face off so I had what was it home style dal. It's almost like this lentil paste and it was much more or less and you put that over rice and it's pretty tasty. That was my interesting culinary experience for yesterday but hopefully the temperatures are going to start getting cooler for you guys too. I know hurricane season is here in fact that was it yesterday that was the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina so be safe down there. Now we're going to go to George KB0MAI. And you know what I was real I mean everybody kept their distance from them on Friday and and then I saw them on Sunday and they actually seemed to be doing really well. I mean the dog was 15 I think they saw it coming they actually two years ago got another one in anticipation of this one going down. So I think they were pretty well ready for it. And it was a case of the dog really let them know. I mean it was bad like one day I just woke up and it was like yeah okay. So they knew. But Scooter is not gonna be a dog that you're gonna have to worry about that any time soon. Alright I think I got this game set up and this could be a bust so I'm trying to get it out of the way early because if it's a bust we won't we won't damage the net too bad.
