And he brought the cow home and the cow was mooing really a lot and come to find out he had to mow the cow. So he planted a tree and my dad was the smartest guy in the world, that's for sure. But he put some ropes around the tree and on tree sides and when he had sheets of plywood, he put the plywood in place. And then he put that cow in there and he started milking that cow. And that cow, for some reason, went crazy. And it killed my dad. Or we bought a calf for meat and we only had like eight acres. That's not very much room, right? Reset. This is repeater station kilo, kilo seven, November, November, all through our notes. He put the cow out there and the cow stayed out there for about a year. And I would go down every day and repeat us in court and give him water and stuff like that. And finally, you know, we didn't really interact with the cow, you know, other than just giving him the water and the food. And Dad said it's time for butchering and we went down there to get that cow to take it to the market, or to the butcher. And that cow didn't want to come anywhere near us. You know, in the middle of summer, it's 110 degrees outside. We're sweating profusely. And he made the mistake of listening to my ideas. He said, I said, Dad, you know, he always comes for corn. I said, why don't we just put some corn, you know, in a pile, and put a rope around that corn. And when he steps in to, you know, eat the corn, we'll pull the rope and catch him. And my dad thought that was a wonderful idea. Quick report on my little vertical antenna project. I need radials. I mean, it's mounted on its fabulous Sweetwater speaker stand. I promised the rep that I would send him a picture. Because he goes, well, don't you need two? I said, no, I just need one because I'm using it for an antenna mount. He goes, what? I said, yeah, you know, ham radio, amateur radio, you know, antenna. He goes, oh, that sounds interesting. I said, I'll send you a picture. You can send it around and say, yeah, not just for speakers anymore. So, he goes, yeah, I said, well, I'd rather get it from you and, you know, cost the same and, you know, that way I can keep my, you know, little account active and keep getting, you know, interesting emails from you guys. Because I love, it's like the Sears, you know, we used to call the Sears catalog the Christmas Wish Book. And that's pretty much what it is for me because all those lovely pictures of all those lovely guitars, oh my, be still my heart. But anyway, yeah, so I'm going to, once I get the, you know, the yellow coax from Messy and Poloni, you know, mounted, then I'll send a picture of the antenna. It's a Yessou ATOS, the one that goes up and down. The radio drives it. It's cool. I like it. It's fun. So that's the project. You know, because like I want to be able to, you know, pack this up and go, go, go, go, go, go. If I go somewhere and I might be there, you know, like, oh, look, there's a picnic table. Let's use that. I'm going to pause. You know, I can't do a lot physically, but still this radio will afford me the opportunity to, you know, Pota. I can do, you know, a park on the air that I can get to. And I've got a battery operated radio so I can do, you know, what is it, five watts, whatever that's called. I got my CW key. You know, there you go. And I got an antenna. I can break it down, deploy. It's a good plan. I think it's a good plan. That's what I'm up to. WQ7H back to Rebecca. Well, James, that sounds like a great plan. I love that plan. And yeah, I feel like we used to do the same thing with the Seattle, I Seattle, with the Sears catalog. We would circle all the things we could dream of getting. But yeah, no, my parents didn't, my parents didn't do GIF. They were very, and we didn't, none of us cared either. They were very, my parents were very practical, were and are very practical. And they never understood. I mean, they humored us letting us do that. But yeah, there was never a, they didn't do GIF. And yeah, well, I think that sounds like a great idea, James. And yeah, you can do a lot with radio. Maybe, yeah, maybe mobility, mobility wise, you're limited, but that's all right. You can do. But 7388, James, have a wonderful day and enjoy planning and planning and planning. Yeah, 73. All right. That was the end of that list. So let's call for announcements. The first announcement is, as you're listening to the PSRG noon net, we do three nets a day, 9 a.m. noon and 9 p.m. We, if you want to check out everything PSRG, go to PSRG.org. That's PSRG.org. And yeah, check out our website. There's a ton of information. There's a lot of recorded educational meetings, which are really interesting. I know that there is an event coming up with a, let me see, what is that called? Well, anyway, there's an event coming up that is a conference that is about, I'm saying that I'm about to mention, oh, yes, Zero Retries, digital conference on September 13th in Everett. So Zero Retries, there was an educational meeting with what they do, the blog about all things. This is from meter station kilo kilo seven November, November. And New in cam radio. In Shelton, Washington. Yeah, so check out their educational meeting, recorded, and also put September 13th on your calendar. It's going to be a really great event. This digital conference, September 13th in Everett. And yeah, check that out at PSRG. Check it out at PSRG.org. And also the next Rain or Shine is going to be an ice cream social. So August 10th at Green Lake, East side of Green Lake, just north of the paddle boat rental, Green Lake Cafe and concession stand. We're going to be, we're going to have our next Rain or Shine and Tammy and Robert KJ7REB and KJ7JXM are going to be hosting from there. It's going to be our normal Sunday Rain or Shine on August 10th. So come and have some ice cream and visit. Visit, see Hams in 3D. And for everything else, Rain or Shine, anything planned, there's an event to consider on our website, which is PSRG.org. That's PSRG.org. Let's continue on with this new net. This is Rebecca KK7IJZ. Man, we had quite a good crew on here all day today, people from all over the country. We've got 79 degrees right now here. It's a funky looking day. Right now the sun is out, but there's some clouds up there, so a little bit of thin cloud cover. But also this morning, it was the first morning that it was really smoky enough to smell. And we got a whole bunch of fires in the north end of the county here. Stevens County is a long, skinny county. It's over 100 miles long and goes right up the Canadian border. And all that stuff north of Caulfield is really steep, rugged country up there. And we had a couple of thunderstorms go through there that sparked a lot of lightning fires up there. So we're paying the price for the smoke. And speaking of paying the price, I paid the price on two days ago and tweaked my hamstring. So it's not real bad, but it's enough that I'm limping and I am out of, I'm not skiing anymore this season. I am out for the season. So I did drive though today and took Sarah skiing. So she had a great ski. We got some flat water even if it was a holiday weekend. It was still flat and not too many boats to have to go around. Several people of the fishing persuasion, but we managed to avoid them and probably make them too angry. So anyway, we have a heat spell going on here. We've got three more days where it's above 90. We're forecasting 93 for tomorrow. And it was hot yesterday. And so we had two more days and about finally Thursday is the first day that it's going to be below 90. So it's still hot over here. But when it goes down, it's supposed to stay down. So we'll see. Anyway, that's all I got. Back to you there, Rebecca. Seven threes, everybody. Have a good rest of your holiday weekend. This is Jim and Jane at Deer Lake, K7 PDZ. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven November, November. Ooh, Jim, you tweaked your hamstring. Ugh. That's so... What an annoying spot to tweak. I mean, they all are, but still. Ooh. Well, at least you got some really great skis in this season and met some new ski friends too. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I think that you've met, yeah, a couple of people so far that you can, yeah, that you can glide over the water with. But yeah, well, you too enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend too. And what makes it better is that you're both retired. So enjoy your holiday weekend forever. And yeah, as Matt said, you only live once, right? But anyway, thank you so much for checking in, Jim. It's always good to hear from you and good luck with that hamstring. And yeah, that's so... That's annoying. It's annoying. It's like, oh, it hurts me. Your hamstring hurts me. But anyway, 73 in all the numbers, Jim, and 33, Jane. All right, next on the list is Bostonova Bill, KJ7FWB 888888. Hey, Bill. You're doing some mahjong today, cleaning up. Yeah, it's always good to remind people throughout the net. Yeah, we had that, that was called in and we got some additional information along the way, but yes, we did hear that and it's a go now. It moved that to go now in the flash flood area around Tukwila. So yeah, it looked like there was 46,000 people potentially affected. So there we go. All right, thank you so much Dale. Hey, it's great to hear you and take care. All right, and let's see, let's go back to Rebecca, KK79JZ. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7 November, November. Hi Jack, this is Rebecca, KK79JZ. And one thing I do want to let people know who are driving out of the flooded area is to be mindful when driving through water if it is not, your car is not a boat. So yeah, be mindful of the way you are evacuating, which is hard to say. I mean it's hard to think about when you are in the thick of it, but yeah. And yeah, I hope that everyone is okay and I, yeah, that's a lot. But anyway, Jack thank you so much for hosting the net. I am now preoccupied with the people that have to evacuate Tukwila as a person from South Louisiana. Of course I, yes. Oh, but yeah, I just finished a Lego build. My neighbor gave me a potted orchid Lego build flower for my birthday yesterday. And Leo and I just finished it. Leo was super congested last night and we decided to keep him home from school even though he is emotionally totally fine physically. But yeah, he is going on a big trip this weekend. He is going to Switzerland on Saturday. So we need to make sure that he is in tip top shape."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-11-03T22:47:52+00:00","id":74898,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":74897,"text":" Yeah, it would be good for you to say whiskey bravo. You've got a reason for doing phonetics because I did it. I just didn't write down the B. I see you were 12 when you got your first novice. I was 13 when I got my first novice. I was assigned to the USS Puget Sound, AD 38, that's Destroyer Tender, which at the time was also the flagship of the 6th Fleet, the Med. And yes, it is not legal to follow illegal orders. You know, the thing is I think that people who do things like this don't believe they'll actually come to book. But let's leave that topic alone. I'm looking at my notes. Calibration technician? Yeah, I was an opticalman, an optics technician. And there are also, I think, when I was in the Navy in the 80s, there was also a rating called instrumentman. But if you were a calibration technician, you may have been an instrumentman or longer ago than they have been. Those ratings don't even exist anymore, by the way. They've been folded into other ratings. I think the opticalman has been folded into the fire control technician rating, or one of those. And, let's see, oh, I've got to stop before I just keep going on. Yes, I was CW, I'm trying to get back into CW. It was my single mode for a long time, for years. And now I can't even operate HF for my apartment. There's so much RFI. And I've been, 99% of the time, just been on the repeaters. Anyway, Bob, great talking with you. And please come on here. Oh, I remember shingles. You know, a friend of mine, Bob, another Bob, that was just talking to him today down in our lobby. I live in senior housing. And he's got shingles. And I said, you didn't get your shingles vaccination? And he said, no. I said, well, now you're paying the price. You've got shingles. I had shingles so bad in my 40s, I believe, that the physician asked, got me to sign off on her taking some photographs for medical photographs for education. And believe it or not, I found a book that had the photograph. I recognized my own back in the photograph. Oh my God. I didn't tell anyone that it was me. But I recognized my own back. It was a classic case. It's such a bad case of it. My entire back was just, it was horrible. And so after they got to the improved shingles vaccination, I got both at the VA hospital. And I'm glad I did. My other friend Bob, who lives with me in this building, he didn't get the shingles vaccination. Maybe some similar reasoning that you had. And why would you even want to risk the possibility of getting shingles? But I'm glad you still have your eyesight and that you've finally gotten over it. And I'm glad you're back on air. So welcome back. Welcome back. Take care, Bob. Take care, Bob. And I run the Monday night net. And you've already heard probably, you already know about it. That's every morning and every night and every noon, every day. Take care, Bob. This is repeater station kilo, kilo seven. November, November. By the way, I was ET. ETN because I was in the new program first. And then ultimately went to advanced electronics. That's where they sent me to Lowry Air Force base to become a metrology person. So yeah, so it was ET. And um, well check it out. By the way Bill, it's around that time of the month where I'm waiting for the month statement. So you'll hear from me at one of these uh, afternoons. I'll text you first though. And let's just hope, since this month is on Christmas, knowing them they're gonna just, it's gonna either fall right on the Christmas day where I get my um, Bill statements and I need some help. Or it'll be like right afterwards, so they're hard to predict, I don't know. And then I'm in Vancouver, so I'm doing all of this remotely, right, like I get text notices and that, and just kinda act on it like I did last month. So, just, just letting you know. Okay, alright, so where are we now? Okay, so that was Rick, next one is Gray, over to you Gray. This is repeater station kilo, kilo seven November, November, KK one, KK two, KK two. Dude you're not gonna bomb. You almost say the same thing, you're not gonna bomb. You're the master of Saturdays. You can't bomb. We are in our second day of being on the generator. We had a big storm here last couple of days. A lot of rain, high winds. And when we are getting like 40 to 60 mile an hour winds up here in the lake, down the shore they're getting 75 mile an hour winds. So that's where most of the outages are. And all those little, I don't know, peninsulas that stick into the water. The coast of Maine is very rugged and there's lots of jutting pieces of land. They go out to have one road right down the middle of them and that's where a lot of people live. It's beautiful. It's right on the ocean. It's always colder. It's always windier. And the waves are always bigger. So Versant is going to lean into those guys first and then she'll get back in the woods here with me and mine. Our little seven family outage here. So I have to maybe shut the generator down this afternoon and check the oil and fire it back up again. I hate doing that but you know you got to do it sometimes. Back to you Kevin. Put me on the long list. This is KC2PKG over to you. I said, you should tell me that later this afternoon, one of our next conversations, and she goes, okay, I will, so we'll see if she does, but I may be sleeping all day, so she may not, because I didn't sleep good last night, so we may not talk, but if we do, we'll see what happens, I'll let you guys know tomorrow, but it was funny. So anyway, have a great day, you guys, KC7FNW, back to that. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven, November, November, all star note. You know, that whole AI thing is interesting, I should put it that way. I remember a sitcom, oh, this has been a long time ago, like 10 years ago or a little more, that this guy has a relationship with Siri. That was kind of interesting, he was always talking to Siri, and then they did this thing at the end where he actually goes someplace and he meets Siri in person, you know, that part was kind of interesting and cool, and of course he was tall and beautiful as you would expect him to be. Ah, Missy, you have a great day, my friend, and yeah, say hello to Alexa for us, how about that, and with that here, we're at the bottom of the list and we've got a little time to go, so let's talk to some more people. This is KI7PKL Roy in Portland, and I'm looking for check-ins, so please come back with your call, fly slowly and phonetically."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-21T20:12:29+00:00","id":81933,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":81932,"text":"Yeah, kv2 gsm Yeah, we don't live anywhere near New York City we are about 400 miles I would say Northwest of New York City we're closer to Buffalo than we are New York City. It's going to get better. It's supposed to be a bit upper 40s again tomorrow. Located in Shelton, Washington. I'm glad we didn't shovel our driveway. Excuse me, folks. Sorry about that. My wife and I just got back from the cruise to the Caribbean. of being, we came back to Western New York on Sunday and we went to Nassau, the Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic, and Turk and Caicos Islands. And folks, let me tell you, it is paradise down there. It really is compared to Western New York. I'm originally from Western New York and so is my wife. That's why we moved back here from Colorado after I retired from Walt D. Martin. I'm a retired rocket scientist by the way, believe it or not, I am. All right, I'm gonna send it back to the net. KU2, GSM. Hey, so good to hear from you this morning. And yeah, don't be a stranger, man, that's great. And yeah, down in the Caribbean there, Turks and Caicos. There was a while there I was looking at a job managing a boat yard there. But that all kind of fell apart with a regime change in the government. So, oh well, scratch that. But yeah, beautiful area. And I'll bet it's quite the weather shock coming home, the upstate New York area there. So there you go. Well 73s, thanks for coming by and saying hi. And have a great Wednesday afternoon and we will catch you later. All right, listening for more Radio Check-Ins. This is Kilo Delta 7, Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave. The High Desert Pirate Radio down here in Central Oregon. I'm on the PSRG Repeater in Seattle. And I am listening for more radio check-ins, comments, complaints, or anything for the good of the net. Please come ahead. K9, BDC, Brooks, Mobile. Hey, Brooks, we're down to onesies, Tuesdays, so rock and roll. What you got going on? Come ahead. Good morning, Dave and everyone on the net. K9, BDC, Brooks here, Mobile in Tukwila. There's some blue sky out here, which is kind of a nice change compared to all the rain that we've had. I know there's still all kinds of craziness going on weather-wise out here, but let's see. When I left the house today, we had power. We lost power last night for about an hour, about 8 to 9 o'clock. Came back right after the net started last night. So that was good. But yeah, I heard there's a lot of folks still out there without power right now, so yeah, kind of weird, weird weather things are going on. And it was strange too, because usually when the power goes out, it just like turns off and everything goes blank. But it kind of like faded out last night, like it was like everything kind of dimmed before it went out, which is a little bit odd. But anyway, all seems to be good now. Like I said, the sun's out, there's nothing else. It at least puts me in a better mood. Anyway, I'll be mobiling around. Let's see, I'm going to Renton and then I'm going to Seattle and then I'll be up in Redlands Bay. So that's my path for today. And then just trying to get stuff done before next week. I'm taking most of the next week off for the holidays. So trying to get everything done before I go on vacation. So, back to that for me. Thanks for doing the net. 7-3, K-9."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-22T14:59:20+00:00","id":85808,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":85807,"text":"This is repeater station kilo kilo 7 November November all-star node 6 2 2 2 located in Shelton, Washington"}]}
