I guess it's like in Europe, you know, where everybody just takes a month off and goes on vacation. So I found a, it was a breeze going from downtown out of here through the express lane. And they're not really widely known, they don't put signs anywhere that say, you know, this way, in this direction because it is only part of the day usually. So, but here on, in fact I got from Capitol Hill, I went down Boren, and I just, or James, that's what it was. So right of 8, it goes right underneath the convention center and I made a right at hike. And I left right on the express lane. There's another entrance on Mercer off of any term left on the Stewart and it goes on to the express lane. And they're going to be open all the time now during the two lane closure for the whole month. And the other one is at Mercer going eastbound. So you can get on the express lane there and it's just a snap from Pike to just get on the freeway right there. So, yeah, that's quick and the rest of it was all sitting still. This is supposedly a ten minute delay going northbound on 5, I don't think so. This ten minutes will feel like a couple hours. So, stopping goes no way to drive. KJ7VU and Lake Jalan is, go to Manson and check out the Fourth of July fireworks there. It's nice to hear them echo into the mountain valleys and stuff and reverb and come back. Kind of cool and unique place there. KJ7VU, have a good night everybody. Alright, thanks for sharing that. Yeah, there are definitely some ways to make sure you can get around the northbound closures there at the express lanes. And I know the big issue I guess is the full weekend closures there. But the express lanes will be open and of course southbound is still open. But make sure you look at what's going on before you come on over. And, yeah, it's one of the things about having a city where it's both based on bridges and entirely based on, almost entirely based on car automobile transportation. Seems like, minute, when the bridge is 60 years old, might be good to get that work done. So, I tell you, you have a great service here. Alright, we have NIO from KK7CSG. Whatever could that be? Thank you, Cami. We have you and Robert on the list, and that completes a nice full round. Let's go right back up to the top and talk to K0 CMT. Come ahead. Good evening, Bill and everyone. I meant for this to be an I.O. check-in with my friend here who is sitting in a car on mobile, whose call sign is KK7 CSG. I'll tell you a little bit about my day. We went to Gasworks Park and we stumbled upon a classical piano, a live classical piano event called In the Landscape. It was the 10th anniversary season. We were intrigued by it because we saw the antenna in the distance. Of course, we saw the piano, but we just thought, Oh, well, maybe someone brought a piano to Gasworks and just wanted to start playing. But we saw the antenna in the distance and as we got closer, we kept seeing so many people with headphones. Then we just went up and started talking and we got a free set of headphones to listen to the live performance. It was really, really impressive. It was the first time we had ever seen anything like that. I'm going to see if Ryan here wants to say anything. I got it. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. I got nothing here to say for me. This is KK7 CSG, but I'm also here with K0 CMT. Do you want to hand it back to the net, Colin? Yeah, I'm going to hand it back to the net. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening. Both here on Capitol Hill. KK7? 73, K0 CMT. K0 CMT and KK7 CSG, this is K7 WFP. Colin, that is fascinating. In The Landscape, it's a series that's been going in, I think you said 10 years. That's fascinating. I get the drift that it's outside, but they get the audio to you really nicely through some kind of radio system. What's going on? Is it Bluetooth or how does that gizmo work? You know, it's definitely not Bluetooth. I don't know exactly, but it was a RF antenna. I don't know what frequency they were transmitting. We wanted to ask someone, but everyone was busy. It was spread out a couple hundred feet, so everyone was able to just walk around with their headphones and sit wherever they wanted comfortably at Cast Works and listen to the live piano performance. Gosh, the sound was wonderful. We just laid on the hillside and looking up at the bright, wonderful sky. It was a super peaceful time just sitting there. Back to you, Bill. K0 CMT. Well, guys, that is fascinating. I'm thinking about it. It must be that kind of FM, short distance FM like they use for mic'ing performance in theaters, I suppose. We have so many good audio people on this net, I bet somebody can fill us in. But I have to check that out. That is really cool. I've never heard about it. I've learned two really cool things tonight. This and the wind system. Very cool. All right, let's move ahead to Magoo over where you are. KK7 ZTZTJ. Come ahead."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T22:26:23+00:00","id":14156,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14155,"text":" KK7 station. Not bad. Anyway, it was wonderful. You know, and Mr. Bryant, I've got so much to tell you. There's so little time. Ahem. Excuse me. Um. I'm here for surgery. Uh, on my cataracts. That nobody knew I had. Um, until now, I just told you. Um, it was supposed to be August 16th. As September 5th. Well, that got postponed to September 5th and October 3rd. You know, that's when I was supposed to get the surgery. And then five days later, go back for the follow-up. Um. So, I'm doing the inpatient surgery. I'm going to consider my multiple trips to the hospital. They can't trust me. Going to an outpatient. Uh, so I'm going to be, you know, under the gas. And I'll be completely out. And, uh, approximately a ten minute surgery. Where they slice meat on the eyelid. Or the eyelids. Slide out the cataract and put the new lens in. And somehow, it magically seals itself. I don't know. Uh, if they do a little bit of liquid glue on my eyelid or what. Um, I don't know. I'll have to find out on my second visit. When they prepped me for the surgery. But, uh, other than that, I'm doing well. Uh, I'm currently in the hospital right now. Uh, dealing with a little bit of the flu. Um. CHF and pneumonia. And once I get that all situated, I can go home. I'm looking maybe like Tuesday, maybe Wednesday at the latest. So, not to let the allergies or fight me. Crimes. That's about where I stand. So with that, I'll tell you a sight. Thank you for running to that. I keep up the good work. Hey, this is Charlie. GDC2. STO, back to that. This is repeater station kilo, kilo seven. November, Quebec to order. Well, Charlie, thank you for sharing that news. Uh, it's clear that you need the cataract surgery. But glad that it's got, you got it all scheduled and stuff. Like, you're gonna know what to expect. You know, like, how they put that back in there. I'm just imagining them using some, like, flex tape or something like that. But anyway, let us know as that approaches and stuff. If you have any concerns and stuff. And definitely good news. You'll be getting home from the hospital there, hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday. So, you sound like you're in good spirits and all that. So thank you so much for checking in. Wish you the best of luck here on recovering the print, ailments and stuff. And we'll look forward to the next one there. So, hey, we'll catch you down the log there, Charlie. I hope you have a great night. Thanks for the checking. Alright, I am Brian, KE7KZH. This is the 9 o'clock net on SRT repeater in Seattle, Washington. Let's take all stations now. Just give me a call sign and a first name. All stations, please come now. KF7OK, Doug. Let me catch up here. I did get KB5TWG. And then there's another station, which I'm going to ask for in a moment. After that, I did get entry OMO Elaine. And then I got an I-O there for Peter, KE6RAX. Who is the station I missed in the middle there? Oh, it might have been me. KJ7EX, I'm... Ha ha, it was Sean sneaking in there. KJ7EXM, got you on the list there, Sean. More stations from 9 o'clock neck, come ahead. Last station, you were barely keying up the repeater. I think it was coming into the buck, but barely. I could just tell someone was there, couldn't make out anything. I'm not sure if you can increase power or move locations. Can you try one more time? This is Kilo, Mike, 7, Alpha, Quebec, November. From Birmingham, I just changed from my H2, Echo Link. Good evening, no control. Ah, okay, perfect. I got you there on Echo Link. KM7HUN, you were on the list. Anyone else who would like to join this round, please come ahead. Call sign Thursday. Kilo Kilo 7, Charlotte Sierra Golf Mobile, Ryan with an R, I-O. But, in fact, I started talking and I said, hmm, maybe not. But anyway, um, good evening, Ms. Shorter, thank you for running the vet. You know, you do it so well and professionally. You know, by proper etiquette and everything. Anyway, um, my eye surgery for this Saturday was cancelled. By not me, but somebody. So anyway, I'm getting it done on September 5th. My left eye. In October 3rd, my right eye. Hopefully, by November, I'll have good eyes. So anyway, that makes it well for me because I'm taking the extra class one more time. If I don't get it this time, I'm going to stay very instinctive and general. You know, I just can't keep doing this, you know. But anyway, I was sleeping. I woke up and I saw it was time to talk on the best diet in the world. So I went up and called the nurse and said, how do you get this mask off? So I can talk. So Ms. Jones, you have a wonderful night and a better tomorrow. This is Casey 2, SDO. That thing had control. Over. Well, Charlie, I know that you, I think you had mentioned that you wanted to have an extra so you could be a VE and be able to administer all license classes. But you still can be a VE with a general, although you can only be a volunteer examiner folks for technician class license. But that's most of the license applications. You know, that's still, I don't know what your club or your VE group is like. But you know, having, you know, be able to have extra help, you know, doing the volume of tech licensees is still useful. And of course, you get more privileges with an extra class or even my advanced class. But it's really a flex because you get most of the privileges with a general class license. You just can't get just a few corners of the HF bands. But you know, I always recommend that people get their general class license because that gives you most of the privileges with amateur radio. You know, you're not restricted to, you know, just a few tokens and pieces of HF. And you know, if people stop in general, there's, one of my brothers is a general. Clay went and flexed and got his extra class. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with general class license. That's the name of the license, the general class license. You know, I would love to see more people get their general. You know, and more people don't. Most people just have the technician class, the basic license. What's going on has got to be... Oh yeah, they do. Just one eye at a time because, you know, the success rate is good on those eye operations. But you do want to do both eyes at the same time because in case something goes wrong, you don't want to lose both of them. Steve, Mr. Charlie, I will get you to that point. And last on the list is Joel, KK7ZBX. Joe, please give us your report. Joel Willis. So I was returning from a visit to San Diego. My wife and I went down to visit our daughter. And so a happy pet note, they have a new dog and this dog is awesome. They love him. My daughter and her boyfriend love that dog so I think we know. Yeah, it was really nice. They had a little warm. Not a bad day but the Pacific down there is 70F. They can jump in there and survive with a wetsuit and it would be awesome to kind of ride the surf a little bit. And I'm not going to go without hypothermia. And flying back here, it was warmer when we landed here on Sunday. It was good to be back. So I wanted to test the HD, make sure it's towards. And nobody else is out on. And thanks, Joan. Back to net control, KK7ZBX. Fine business, Joel. Yeah, San Diego. Visit your daughter and her bow and their dog. Wetsuit surfing. You know, I know from my reading that San Diego is, surfing is immensely popular there. And if you are wetsuit surfing, believe it or not, and I witnessed it when I lived in the Amber Peninsula, but people will surf on Lake Superior. In Marquette, Michigan, there were a number of dedicated wetsuit surfers. In fact, I've even heard of people surfing in a surprise suit. That's how cold Lake Superior is. So, anyway, thank you for that excellent report, Joel. And I will catch you on the walk. Operator 15, report number 12. Alright, so, let's see, I'm going to start a third round. This is Joel KX2CW in Seattle, Washington, on Broadway Avenue. In Capitol Hill, which is the most urban neighborhood in Seattle there is. And perched in the, looking out of my window from what I have sometimes called the Capitol Hill Behavioral Observatory. Uh oh, sirens. Sirens, where are they going? So, I'm going to take some more check-ins, if I can hear them. The sirens, are they going to come by? I'm going to try to listen through them. Okay, all stations, please. Kilo Bravo 7 Sierra Delta Mike Ryan, in and out. Alright, Kilo Bravo 7 Sierra Delta Mike Ryan, I-O, I've got your I-O, thank you. Let me know that you're out there. Um, more stations, please. That's Derek of Monroe. Alright, Derek of Monroe, I'm right down in. And all I heard was a 7 and there's a doubling station. But, uh, I'm, I'm scribbling. And, uh, who was the station that was doubling with Derek? Alpha Gold 7 Lima Romeo Cody with an I-O. Hey there, Cody, I've got your I-O, your station 18 in the log. Thank you for stopping by. More stations, please. K-E 7 KZH Bryan. Bryan, sorry that you didn't come to the Rain or Shine Ice Cream Social in Green Lake, but I'm just glad you're out there. Alright, uh, different Ryan with an R. KK 7 CSG, alright. Um, I've got your I-O, Ryan. And you're, I didn't look at the border scope as you were giving your report, but, uh, you were noisy. Let's see, what is the temperature outside? Oh, it's 91 degrees out here. I tried to see if there was some pickleball going in my local court tonight, but alas, no. It's a little bit humid. There was lightning off in the distance. I don't know if people get scared off by that, but nothing coming in imminently anyway. But after a day of work, that's like I like to unwind. Tomorrow's Seahawks game. Down here in Chandler, we pop over to Gilbert. There's a place down here called the Wicked Rain, as in Wicked Rain of Seattle. It's a Northwest themed sports bar, and it's got 40 Northwest craft brews in it if you're into that. It's got a mural of all things Washington and Seattle like Bigfoot, Mount Rainier, kingdoms on this base, and all that kind of stuff. I was trying to say. And that's the place to go down here if you're going to watch the Seahawks. So I'm going to go a little early. Reserve as a spot. Get some peeps together, and scream and yell for the Seahawks tomorrow, and we'll see how that goes. That's tomorrow's plan. Anyway, that's all I got here from the Valley of the Sun. Sorry, sorry I didn't recognize your call being a host also of these wonderful nets. Never Refuse Seven Oreos, I will remember that because I in my youth was an Oreo and Hydrox fan. I remember if anybody remembers Hydrox cookies. They were kind of similar but not exactly the same. And boy, I never refused seven. I never refused multiples of that. How many, I always think of those columns that they come in. How many Oreos are in a column? At least three times seven I'd say. That's what it took for me to get through my French vocabulary study many, many, many years ago. Alright, thank you Ron. Thanks for checking in. Let's move over to Ryan with an R. And yeah, I'm ready. Bring it on. Bring it on. Bring on the winter. Bring on the winter. I guess, I guess Tree and I, it's a club of two. It's just me and, it's just Tree and I, who love the cold and reluctantly say that we feel better when the days start getting longer. So next, at the end of next spring, Tree and I are going to both be like, all right, we feel better now that it's getting sunnier, but darkness, cold. Yeah. Good night, Mike. We had a recheck. We had an IO from Ryan with an R, KK7, CSG, and that's a net, y'all. Thank you so much for joining me. It would not have been much of a net without you. And I appreciate you sharing all that you had to share. I'd like to thank the Puget Sound Repeater Group for the use of this repeater. For more information about PSRG, please visit PSRG.org. PSRG has been hosting this daily for well over 30 years, and the nets are a great opportunity for you to test your equipment. If you don't test your equipment, we can't hear you. I'll now be returning the repeater to normal operation. This is Rebecca, KK7, IJZ, signing off at 1038-ish. 7-3, everybody. KK7, IJZ, clear. Glad to hear you on the net here tonight. You have to stay up pretty late to get checked into this net. I wouldn't blame you for missing a day or two. But it is always great to hear you on here. And we do wonder where you're at when you don't check in. So it's always nice to hear you come join us. It sounds like you've got quite the animal house going on there. And it sounds like even though there might be a little bit of shenanigans or rough housing going on, it sounds like a good time. And the dog being afraid of the cats is pretty funny. But you know, kitty's got claws. You've got to watch out. So good stuff. Thanks for stopping by, Elaine. You have a wonderful rest of your day. And we'll talk to you again soon. OK, let's see. We had an I.O. from Ryan, KK7CSG. Thanks for stopping by. And that brings us to the end of that short list. Is there anyone else who wants to check in for the 9 o'clock net? Come in now. Call sign in name. Kilo 7, Julia. Kilo alpha, I.O. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7. No one remembers the results of that memory. 9.O. Thank you. Stop by. Next station.
