This is the 9 o'clock net. All our Tuesday night host, how are you tonight? K7PJP. Please give us a report. Brian, how are you today? Yeah, I wasn't sure if you copied me because I was outside. We were sitting on All Star. And I got in, but the, you know, the computer phone uses UDP packets. And I'm standing in between two routers here. And the packets just were dropping. But I figured you had me on all this. I'm on R-AJ now. I was just outside dealing with watering some plants and unfortunately having to take out a wasp or hornet nest that was in my shed. I don't like having to do that. But you know, I needed to get into my shed to get the tools to, well, you know, to use the stuff that's in there. And I don't like getting stung. I like getting stung even when I'm in the shed. And I don't like getting stung. I like getting stung even less than having to kill things. But you know, sometimes, you know,"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-22T21:49:59+00:00","id":9541,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":9540,"text":" So yes, hope you're doing great. Thanks for running the net. 7-3 to you and everybody out there. I'm feeling a bit frazzled tonight. We're right in kind of the thick of our summertime activities as a family. It feels like we're in this kind of never-ending state of packing for a trip and then going on the trip and having fun and getting home and doing laundry and cleaning and organizing. And then by the time we get all that done, we're loading everything back in the car for the next adventure. I feel like that's been my life for the last couple weeks. It's been great though. Just feeling a little like, well, maybe a little more time at home next summer for a little longer stretches. Anyway, we got back from Camping and Deception Pass on Sunday evening and we had a great time up there. It was a little, it was decent weather but kind of chilly in the mornings in particular. Had a great time though. And then on Thursday we're headed over to Soan for a long weekend at the lake. My best friend's family has a place over there and we've been going with a group of friends for many, many years since I was in high school spending some time over there. So it's gonna be wonderful. The thing that's kind of thrown a monkey wrench into things this week and I feel like is making it feel extra frazzling is my girls are at Girl Scout Day Camp that is an hour each way from home. And I don't know what my wife and I were thinking that we thought this was a good idea. They're having a blast. But we were not accounting for four hours between the two of us. I've kind of lost time to get stuff done this week. So tomorrow, they're very excited. Tomorrow is kayaking day and that will be cool. And the theme is Western day. So I don't know, I have a bin full of costumes like many parents probably do. And I have to go after the net dig through the bin of costumes to see what sort of Western apparel I can find. Bandanas or hangercheese or I don't know. It just reminds me, a tip of the cap to Joan. I'm jealous of your awesome hat finding, Joan. Anyway, I think that's all I got. I'm just rambling now. Paul, thanks for running the net. Hope everyone's great. KK7 QES. This is repeater station kilo kilo. All right, sounds like this will be the vacation from your vacation. Well, it's not that so much as it is but having the two camps in different directions, that'll do it. There was a brief period of time when Moxie and I were working jobs and concluded the opposite direction. And you would not believe how, maybe you would, even though we had different transportation or whatever, there were times when anything kind of complicated kind of still made that pain when I had to drive her or something like that. So yeah, I definitely understand that. It's easy to have a lot of different things that you can't do. It's easy to have a lot of different things going on, get overbooked and just kind of, especially having to spend a bunch of time in a vehicle. That's not fun. So, and yeah, sounds like you have some cool bit of costumes there. That's great, I hope you find something appropriate. And yeah, you have a great rest of your week there, just seven three. All right, let's go for a recheck here from KJ7VEU. Mike, please come ahead."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-27T21:24:51+00:00","id":11650,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":11649,"text":" Brian Brian, TE7KZH. Let's draw the line right there. This is the 9 o'clock net, so kicking off with the first report here. Ann, how are you tonight? How was your Sunday? KA9EHV, please give us a report. Well, good evening, Brian and the rest of the nets. This is KA9EHV. Oh, it was absolutely lovely. So it was replete with getting to listen to my husband read a very long psalm and the gospel in church today. So for those of you who don't know, we met on the radio during the simulated emergency test in 1980. And it only took me about 30 seconds to decide that voice was absolutely something I wanted to listen to for the rest of my life. And so every time I hear Scott read, it's like, ooh, all right. I can just sit and relax, and it's wonderful. And so anyway, that was nice. And then I played through a bunch of songs today, and that was nice. And other than that, I didn't do a whole lot. It is, after all, Sunday. And I technically shouldn't have actually been practicing. But as long as I don't do scales, it doesn't feel like work. Anyway, that's about it. Tomorrow I'll go up to Edmonds and attempt to make money. That would be nice. And other than that, not a lot happening here. This is a 7333-88 to everybody. I appreciate Brian for hosting the net. I appreciate everybody else for listening. This, I love you all. This is Ann, KA9EHC, back to net. Hey, well, thank you so much for that report there. And for sharing your Sunday evening with us. Very cool. So hey, I think what you are saying there is, anyone who's single out there, just listen for that perfect voice on the radio, and you might find your life partner there. So very good stuff. Glad you said it, Joe. But it's 1980, so congrats on him for reading those songs. And yeah, anyway, good stuff there. Thanks for sharing. We'll catch you down the walk there. All right, up next, down to the Bay Area we go. How are you tonight, Jeff? Alpha Bravo 6, Mike Bravo. Please give us a report. We're having a little QRF right now going on there. So Jeff, you might have a hard time getting in there. But let's just see if you can go ahead and give it a try there. Jeff, Alpha Bravo 6, Mike Bravo, over to you. All right, it may or may not help. But Jeff, let me just go ahead and put a circle here. And let's see if Michael, if you can bump up to some full power there, KJ7 Victor Echo Uniform. Let's see if we can run and get a report from Michael here. In the meantime, and then we'll circle back to Jeff there. So Michael, how are you tonight? Good to see you yesterday at the picnic. Very good talking with you. Please give us a report. You know, I mean, yeah, all these cameras are fine. I mean, they do OK somehow. These are, you know, I throw some money in there all the time. A little bit here and there. Just a bunch of places to stay going. And it's like every summer, you know, there's a lot of these fantastic, like, food. Yeah, in fact, there's a lot of good food in the lake that I usually eat. It started with a burger and a bunch of salads. How cool. Yeah, it's great there. I can't get up at 2. I did not bring one of the chocolate cakes like I had before. You know, trying to lose weight. I didn't stop the store first. Anyway, it seemed to be a fine situation there. Mike, KJ7VEU, how's it going tonight Mike? Doing okay, yeah. I've been here enough. Look at my computer, hasn't seen the internet in a while. I've kissed off my ISP, I got tired of them. Kicking my VPN off every 20 seconds or a half hour. Well, they don't pay me for my browsing history, so I don't pay them for internet service anymore. That's okay. But, you know, 50 bucks a month here and there, that's okay, I can use it. And there's a cycle at the library now, or, you know, Senior Center. I took them, I got to the library and they were my computer, when I took them to the other computer, the laptop. And I had two mice because, oh, I just happened to have another one with me and then both of them, the USB, go on before it was gone. So, and I had a track pad, I think I shut the track pad off, shut the track pad off and fly off, so I just packed it up and I can just come home and find one or plug a wired version in or so. Well, I love First World problems, they're just so weird. And back to you, and it's been, yeah, it's good seeing everybody in the net, I mean, at the picnic. And, yeah, I believe I saw you there. Yeah, I remember you, it's like I hear you and I run enough net and I go, oh yeah, there's, I remember the face with the body, with the radio, with the antenna project and things like that all kinda fit together in the mind later. Things like that, you know, a lot of, I can barely remember the before times, frankly, air pressure. But if you go out, walk around about three in the morning, it's great, it's cool. And all the rabbits come out to the middle of the street and they see other rabbits out in the middle of the street and they all socialize and do their rabbit things and it's basically a whole symphony of rabbits hopping around the streets of Seattle in Magnolia anyway. And the owls barely have had their fill of them or something, I don't know. Yeah, but I got the owls and I just hear the sea lions at the locks and stuff from here, just fine. Today is a day for laundry and for painting the bathroom a little more. But other than that, I think I'm going to go ahead because I popped in here like maybe five, six minutes ago, not too long ago. I think I need to go into my Google fittings and set up reminders in my Google calendar for the net time so I can pop in and hop on the net. To the love here and y'all over there. So that's EJ, 2388 to everyone. This is November 3, Oscar, not Oscar. Well, fine business, Elaine. You know, it gets more and more, it happens more and more as we get older. And then the memory, if you called on your neural pathways to like, oh, here it is. Look, this is the last time you saw that red envelope. And that's excellent. I'm glad that you found it. First thing I wrote down in the remarks column when you were talking about that you apparently had a safety deposit box that you can remember. I was writing, beware of jam. But I'm glad you found it. Anyway, take care, Elaine. And it's good to hear you. And take care. Hope you're going to be safe in Florida. Well, next we had the quasi IO from David, KI7 DRP. And that brings us to one of my friends out there, KG7 QEO, DJ, who was at field day too. DJ, go ahead and give us your report. This is Kulu Gull, 7 Quebec Echo, Oscar, kindly giving seven, quick accent operator. Name here is DJ, stand up Juliet. Quick signal check with you. I have my signal. You were getting into Capital Park as a secondary and getting into Beacon as a primary. And I had it partially covered up with QRZ.com. But I could see you were getting into those two receivers quite well. Back to you, DJ. Roger. All right, thank you so much. Well, tonight I'm at my friend's shack in the woods. I can't disclose exactly where it's at. He's been here about three years. So you've got to be careful. But I bought a solar panel today and a couple of other items. I bought a 30 watt MPPT solar panel. And we have an inverter here and a battery, a deep cycle battery that's somewhat good. It's good enough. And anyway, we're working to get some power out into the shack. And it really is literally a shack, homemade, out of pieces. Probably one of the most nice signs. Don't ask me where I got the signs. But DOT might be a little mad. I don't know. It has nothing to do with that. But anyway, probably no trespassing. It was a native girlfriend here, in particular. It's still never funny. But anyway, I'm in a shack in the woods. And it's a safe spot. There's a bed here, like a little bed, a couch. And now we've got power coming. It's a 30 watt panel, though. But I'm hoping that's enough to slowly recharge it off and on. I would have gone with 100 watt, but I can't afford that. And this one will fail. My understanding is MPPT is a little bit more efficient in cloudy weather. This spot gives about three hours of direct sunlight. The rest is indirect through the canopy. But there is a hole in it. And I'm not hoping to utilize it every day. But slowly, over time, I'm hoping that's enough to come by and effectively charge up. But a relatively good spot, high elevation. It should, you know, shift. But it's not quite easy to get to. The bus is 34, 35 minutes away. Go over towards Alki. I'll keep it that. But anyway, yeah, it's dry. It's safe. There's a bed here. Nobody else is here. Nobody knows about it, really. Well, a couple people, but, you know, close to it. Communities. And yeah, anyway, you see that I can stay here regularly. And it's away from all the, it's off the street, away from all the chaos. And I have, all my battery banks are now currently depleted. I was waiting for that solar panel, really. I'm probably going to have the library charge all four of my power banks. I was thinking about buying a projector. We have a large screen area here. But I can't afford that right now. So wherever you come next month, that's my treat to myself. But I did buy a smartwatch today. Amazing, what's it? $80. And that's going to be delivered tomorrow as well. So I'm looking forward to that. And I'm doing OK. You know, food and water is always the thing. But I got a shower this morning. Went to the mail center and got my debit card. And I had misplaced my wallet recently. Bush, I don't know which Bush. Bush number 25618 917. I don't know, probably. But that Bush is really far. Anyway, I think I'm about to time out. This is Q of 07, Quebec Echo Oscar, KG 730. We're almost there. Well, DJ, you were, by the way, you were getting a cent. Again, I'll say you had the strongest signal in the Beacon, a secondary strength signal in the Capitol Park. And Cougar, you faded in strongly into Cougar a couple of times there. And 30 watt panels should be plenty. My partner and I in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, living off the grid for 3 and 1 1 years at that particular QTH, had only a 20 watt solar panel that did a good job keeping a deep cycle battery mostly topped off. But we were QRP operators and just running into moon box and some incandescent utility lighting that we would only turn on when we're in a back room and turn it off when we leave. I have that original 20 watt panel and a newer 20 watt panel, and I also have got a couple of 10 watt panels, which, of course, you can wire them in parallel to be a 20 watt panel. And I've only ever needed like 20 watt, a 20 watt panel. But I'm a dedicated QRP operator too. You're talking about getting a projector. You're starting to sound like you want to do things that may be outside of your energy budget. Also, the condition of the battery that you're floating is matters. Like if you've got a new lithium ferro phosphate four cell, that it won't lose power. It won't just lose its power sitting there. AGM batteries and lead lead oxide batteries are worse at that. It's going to lose power faster. But I'm getting off on the topic. I'll stop there, and I hope that it all works for you, DJ. So take care. Now we go to KK7QES. Justin, please give us your report. Well, hey, Joe. That's Justin, KK7QES and 73. Thanks for having that. I hope you're well. Interesting report from DJ there. I hope DJ is well in the shack too. Yeah, I'm always interested to hear what people are up to with solar projects and things like that. So good evening, DJ. I am winding down here in the shack tonight and just kind of recovering from a very busy weekend. And it felt like a summer that has been a little bit too full. But this is the first week in what I think is like six weeks that my family is not traveling out of town for kind of a long weekend or camping trip or something like that. So it's been really busy. It's been a great summer. But I'm looking forward to staying put for more than four days. It'll be really nice. And while I'm listening to the net tonight, I'm working on a little battery project too. I'm putting together, I'm going to call it like a breakout box for powering USB-C devices from a 12-volt lithium iron phosphate battery. And I have a few of those. And I just use them for powering radios, like during power edges. Or if I take them camping or for portable operations, things like that, which I haven't done much of yet. But so I have these batteries. And they're not doing much. And so I wanted to get a little bit more utility out of them. And so I've taken these. It's like a surface mount or a panel mount USB-C with multiple ports. This is the kind of thing that I actually meant for our heat. This is the heater station, low key load zone, November, Quebec, November. And put four of them in a little enclosure. Located in Shelton, Washington. And fused all that. And then put a power pole connector on it. And the idea was basically if we have a power outage, myself or my wife or anyone could easily just plug in one of these batteries to this little breakout box and have all sorts of USB-C charging ports that would power a multitude of devices. So anyway, that's what I'm working on. I'm not sure how exciting that really is to anyone, even myself. But that's what I'm doing. I hope everybody's doing great out there. I heard you report, Joan, about no smoke where you're at. We got a little bit of it here on Finn Hill. Just kind of the slightest smell faintly in the air tonight. So I hope it goes away, though. All right, I'll send it back to Nat. This is KK7 QES. Well, Justin, smoke. I'm going to check my weather guesser here, the weather app on my iPad. And I'm looking for the smoke. Just to see. It says air quality next is 71, which is worse than yesterday at about this time. So it's moderate. You know, I guess I could smell some smoke today. But it wasn't like a, what do you call it? It wasn't an oppressive amount of smoke. It was enough that I could tell it was there. And I have a pretty good sense of smell. And I could be a sommelier, probably. I can smell the difference between bed bugs. Not only can I smell bed bugs, but I can smell the difference between bed bugs and ticks. That's kind of the sense of smell I have. And I lost it. I had COVID, and I lost my sense of smell. I had long COVID, and I got my first vaccination and went away. And I've been noticing this year that I'm getting my sense of smell back. And getting it back is as good as it used to be. So anyway, yeah, air quality index of 71 for Seattle. And also, you know, batteries, the batteries that we have, battery chemistries we're using now of late, the last few years, is much better than the battery chemistries that we had before. So I'm all for it. Battery power. And many, many more duty cycles than it used to be normal. Take care, Justin. Moving right along, we've got Michael is back, KJ7VEU, to give a proper report."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T09:23:58+00:00","id":14040,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14039,"text":" Good morning. This is a directed social net that happens on the WW7 PSR 2 meter repeater, which is operated by the Puget Sound Repeater Group. If you'd like to join us, come ahead now with your call sign and name, please. G7FWB. All right, Bill, I've got you. Who's next, please? KIVA Delta 7, Papa Whiskey Bravo. Napa In-N-Out. All right, we have two days in a row. We have the pirate Dave. That's high desert pirate, Brianville. And I've got the AG7. Nope, nope, sorry. Sorry, Dave. AG6EG with an I. Oh, thank you, Dave. Appreciate that down there in California. More stations, please. KJ7VEU, Mike. All right, Mike, I've got you. Thank you so much. Anybody else? Kilo Zero Echo Charlie Kilo Zero Echo Charlie Kilo, Gail. Well, good morning, Gail. Stand by. We'll get you in shortly. Let's go back to the top and talk to Bill, KJ7FWSB. How's your Monday, Bill? Oh, hi, Jack. Yeah, Mondays are always a little slow, huh? Anyway, an hour out to Pirate Dave there. And morning to you. Just got back from washing my car, a bare car wash. And we got a meeting here, some kind of a... Mostly about bylaws and stuff like that, so. And yesterday we played about 20 games. Guess who won? About 12 of those. Big scores, too. Yes. So I did really good. Everybody else thought I did good, too. So that's about all I have. KJ7FWB. Now, there is no money bet on these games, Marjan. Is there? So are you like a rich man this morning? Well, I'm rich in plastic chips only. Back to you. Alright, well I guess it all depends on what you can trade those in for. And it sounds like probably not much, except for the glory of the win. I think that's probably enough for you there, Bill. Alright, well be nice to you, my friend. You have a great morning. Enjoy the rest of the day. And we'll talk soon. KJ7FWB. Let's go down to Primeville and pick it up in Oregon with Dave, the high desert pirate. Good morning, sir. Well, good morning, Jack and everybody on the net. Well, it's kind of a little bit of clouds this morning, but not too bad. And they're supposed to be dissipating away. Yesterday we did get another really nice thunderstorm yesterday evening. And we got a little rain overnight, so that was kind of neat. And yeah, things are not quite so hot. We haven't even gotten up to 60 degrees yet today. So definitely a little cool down in the weather for the next couple of days. And then nice and getting warmer again for the weekend. So that works for us. And let's see, other than that, not a lot going on down here. Got a little shopping to do on the usual Monday morning shores. So I think with that I'll turn it back to the net and say 73 is to all. And have a great week. Thanks for taking that this morning, Jack. KJ7FWB, Dave, the high desert pirate radio. Alright, Dave. Yeah, I like that cooler temperature weather for sure. We're really even now. Looks like Monday to Friday, 71 is going to be our low high. And our high high is going to be...high high. Oh boy, I really fell into that one, didn't I? 74 degrees. So boy, I tell you. And then Wednesday I heard we might have as much as an inch of rain. So boy, I tell you the summer garden is going to really love that. Hey, did you hear the KI7UEF flew up to Seattle for the last day of Sea Bear yesterday? Did you hear that yesterday by chance on the net? We had him in a couple of times. I checked in aeronautical mobile and I don't know what happened once he got here. I know Chris, KK7HD, and I think maybe Dean, KJ7WDB, and somebody else had a chance to meet up with him and hang out. So that was good. But did you hear that he made an update? Hey Jack, yes I did. I monitored a lot of that. And I believe he ended up landing in Auburn because they had some kind of a mix up at the Boeing field there so he couldn't get into Boeing. And I think Rebecca was going to meet up with him too. And I'm not sure if she did or not. But at any rate, yeah, I copied most of that. I talked to him up in the air a couple of times. And then also picked up on some other chit chat about him. So at any rate, it sounds like he had kind of an interesting flight up there. Hopefully he'll get back okay. At any rate, I decided to say 73s. And thanks for checking because he was very much aware that he had hit flown up. So back to you Jack, 87PWGB. Quick comment? I think we had Bill with a comment there. Just cut him off. Sorry Dave, or sorry Bill. Hey Dave, thank you so much. Well it's always good to know that if somebody's going to make a big trip last minute, well not really last minute but kind of, to the Seattle area to hang out. And I'm sure you know that we've got a contingency that can get down there and hang out with him and have some fun. So that turned out really good. Alright well hopefully Matt will have a chance to check in this morning. Alright Dave, thanks again. I think we had a comment on why KG7FWB. Let's go to Bill. Was that you Bill? Yes sir, that was. Talking about the weather, guess what? Sunday, August 10th. Forecast 81 degrees. KG7FWB. Alright well that sounds good to me. You might have to eat your ice cream quick or grab another napkin. But you know that sounds fine. And believe it or not if you remember the space by the pickleball court it's an ideal spot. Because around, I don't know, it must be maybe right around noon, that whole area becomes shady. So 81 in shade will be excellent. I cannot wait. Alright well thank you Bill, appreciate that. Alright Dave, if you have a great day, size 10 of course. Dave from California, ACC, AGC, oh god I can never get it right. AC6EG, there we go, Coast Guard checked in with an I.O. Let's go to Mike. Mike, good morning. KJ7VU. Hi Jack, I'll pause you in a second here. You haven't been on that long and I know I won't be here soon. Somebody's trying to get me to time out early. That's okay, I can play games too. Mine are a little more serious than that usually though. I'm from Detroit, you don't want to mess with people from Detroit. We have Italian friends in Detroit, I know a lot of Italian people in Detroit but that's beside the point. James Donaldson was a Seattle supersonic, was at the church yesterday after the 815 service up here in the Village. That was really interesting, he wrote a book, he's going around talking about mental illness and stuff, he's had his issues. As most of us have, if we're thinking about politics, yeah we have mental issues. It's just depression, it's normal for an American thing. That's okay, I've gotten used to it. I've been living in America all my life and I'm still trying to get used to it. I do love America as much as possible, most of the time. Still, I'm doing my laundry, I'm going to pull it out of the dryer, I just throw it in and throw it around the house. I'll let it dry that way, save a little energy. Don't need to heat the place anymore, that's for sure. It is 60 degrees outside. I'm going to go to the Senior Center, have some coffee and socialize. I could use a little mixed food. JJ, some of you, thanks for the check in Jack, and see you around. Alright, hey Mike, so yeah, James Thompson, wow, he was in the NBA a long time. Is he still 7 feet tall? I mean I know your spine will compress after a while, you do get a little bit shorter throughout the later stages of your life, not that he's in his later stages. In fact, I don't even remember how old he is right now, but he must be still 7 feet, huh? Yeah, that's the one question, he's just answering it, but yeah, he looks like he's about 6'11\", still, you know. He's, oh let's see, he was, I think he's, I forget, but I hooked him up and he actually played for an Italian team after he graduated Wazoo and it was a basketball scholarship, one worked over in Italy for a team, and any team he got recruited by the Seahawks. Obviously, he talks about super sonics, after they won in 78 and 9, they won a championship and they said, this guy's good for us, and he worked for Lenny Wilkins and stuff back then. Yeah, that was really interesting to hear him talk about strategy, he was talking about some new, they were talking about expansion and stuff, and he said, he said, he should do some Division 2 stuff, and they do better in recruiting, and yeah, he's all into that, seriously, in management and everything, and yeah, he's a hard worker, and yeah, he's doing okay, he's successful, and yeah, he meets those friends up here in the village, I guess. And Saturday, he said, that's cool, yeah, he's a local, apparently. So, yeah, good seeing him, and he's probably up here part of Seafair or something too, there was hundreds of people up here on the weekend, Sunday was a lot more mellow. Thank you, Jack, thanks, TJ7. Alright, well thank you so much, Mike, yeah, I was up in the village there for Magnolia Fest on Saturday, I didn't see you around, I did find the local emergency hub folks, so that was really fun, hung out with them for a little bit, talked to them, saw some other people that I knew, and had a generally great time, then I got a burrito down by the gas station at the food truck there, and man, those things like the size of a burrito. Oh, so good, it was two meals. Anyway, alright, well you have a great day, Mike, thank you so much, and James Johnson gives back to his community in many ways, we appreciate that. Alright, well let's go down to Texas, Kyle, Texas at first, it's 12 minutes past top of the hour, 9, 12 AM, I'm Jack, KI7, RMU, let's go pick it up with Gail, K0, ECK, hi Gail. Hello everybody, Jack and everybody, just wanted to say hi to everybody, Mike, I had some rain today, I don't know, you can hear my third party traffic over here is active, which I won't complain about because that means he's moving around and not, you know, just laying in one spot, as long as he's talking, eating, and drinking, I'm just going to be a little bit more careful. I'm happy. Everybody have a great day, KI7, ECK. Oh, that is hilarious, what is your cat's name? Okay, maybe I'm, well, his name is actually Naoki, and we've been eating and animating stuff, but we call him Pit Cat, like the candy bar, and he's 26 years old, and you know, he's still enjoying life in the center of our world, and he's still having trouble grooming himself, so we've been having to cut off bunches of his fur to get him out of, but you know, what can you say, he has whatever privileges he gets. Anyway, that's the story, KI7, ECK, back to you, Jack. Uh, okay, wow, a 26 year old in human years is equivalent to a 124 year old cat. Wow, that is amazing. Okay, that's an old cat, right? Take care of Kit Cat there. Alright, thank you, KI, let's get some more stations for the 9 o'clock Met. I'm Jack, KI7, RMU, if you'd like to join us, come ahead, call a sign of me. This is John KI9, Julia Decobrado, fighting the angry bees on cloudy Kamino Island. Good morning, Jack. Hey, good morning, John, thank you very much for your eye, I appreciate that. I bet it's going to clear up a little bit later, and I think you might see some rain with the rest of us on Wednesday. You're probably looking forward to that. I think I am too, and so is my garden. Alright, John, thank you so much, more stations please, for the 9 o'clock Met. Thanks for watching."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-05T21:40:54+00:00","id":14405,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14404,"text":" Okay, Buck, a couple of questions before you run off. The first question is, are you taking the popcorn ceiling down yourself? Are you having someone do that? And what is the method that they use to do that? When I tried taking popcorn down, what I did was, it was super messy, but I just sprayed it and then it kind of fell off. Is that the method that they're using? And then with the Seahawks team, where are you going to sit? Do you have the seats or do you have the seats that you have to climb forever to get to? Back to you, K9 ABC. Okay, let's see. So, first question, popcorn ceiling. No, we're paying someone to take the popcorn ceiling down. It's the same gentleman who took down the popcorn ceiling in the rest of our house, and he was very reasonably priced. And what he did was pull up the plastic and it looked like the Dexter show, and he put on an all-white plastic suit and a respirator, sprayed it with some water, let it kind of soak, and then scraped it off. And then he went through and he filled any of the divots or most spots and painted it. So that's what we're going to expect in here. But this, my office, everything's going to be out. So there will be nothing in here, so it should be pretty easy to do comparatively. As far as the Seahawks game goes, let's see, section 129? So I think those are pretty decent seats. I don't know, I didn't actually look at where they are. I just pulled up my old thing here. Wherever section 129 is, is where I'll be. So, thanks K9 ABC. Okay, I'm thinking section 129 is pretty good because that would be the 100 level. I don't know where 129 is inside the stadium. I'll have to look at that on the map, but wow, that should be a lot of fun. I can't wait to hear about that. And yeah, it sounds like your person that's doing the popcorn, I did a similar method, although your person is probably a lot more professional and does a way better job. My popcorn removal was pretty barbaric. And then I also found, discovered when I got into the project that the popcorn had been painted over, and that makes it infinitely harder to get down. So, yeah, it took a very long time and it was really messy, and it was hard to do by myself, especially given that it was painted over. So, I've seen the previous stuff that your person did and it was really nicely done. So, I'm sure that will be fantastic when you get that all taken down. Maybe we'll get the number from your popcorn person because we've got a little bit of popcorn here, and I'm not that crazy about it. So, thanks for that, and I'll look forward to hearing about your experience at the game. Next up, we have Megan, K9 MLR. How are you doing, Megan? Good evening to you, Kami and everyone out there on the night. K9 MLR Megan here at home in the new castle. Good evening to you, Kami and all the other YLs out there. I am doing pretty well. I'm looking around at his office, Kami, and this time I'm going to meet Mark and paint the trim before he comes to paint. So, I'm looking around at the walls that need to be washed down quickly so that we don't get anything under the paint, you know what I mean. But then the little bit of trim that needs to be painted in here compared to the trim that was painted out in the other rooms was daunting of a project. And we're going to have a paint color picked out. I got that this week already. So, making strides towards it. It's a big project even though it seems like a little project, but we will get it done nevertheless. And working on sending out wedding announcements. That has been racking my brain all day, Kami. I think of people to send it to and then I walk away doing something else. I need to know how that goes. That's what I've been up to. Thank you for doing the night, Kami. Great to hear you. On a Tuesday night, 73 is everyone. K9 MLR. Well, it's always great to hear from you, Megan. And isn't that the case? You know, a lot of the time it seems like, you know, it's not that big of a project and as soon as you get into it, it's like, oh, that's a lot more than I thought it was going to be. But I know that it's going to be absolutely worth it and it's going to look fantastic. I can't wait to see the finished product. And yeah, it'll be great. It definitely reminds me, I still haven't painted the office upstairs. I got it all taped off and I got the walls cleaned and everything and I had the color picked out. And yeah, I just got busy and haven't done it yet. So, I still have that on the job. I really want to get it done before it's turned cold as well because I'm really not going to feel like doing it when it's cold up there. So, that's a good reminder for me. 33 to you, Megan, all the numbers. I look forward to seeing you both at the Ice Cream So-So. And yeah, have a great rest of your evening. Alrighty, that's the end of that group of check-ins. It's 9.33 p.m. I'm Tammy, KJ7RAD. I'm filling in for Paul on the 9 o'clock net. I'm going to reset because I looked up the Pyrex sign. So, according to the AI, the Pyrex with the lower case letters refers to soda lime glass versions of the cookware made by World Kitchen. If it's all in upper case, then it indicates the Pyrex is older. It's borosilicate glass made by Corning. The difference is the age of the Pyrex and the type of glass that's used. With the lower case Pyrex, the glass is more pruned. It's shattering due to thermal shock. That's according to the interwebs. So, there you go. There is a difference in the glass. You can see it when you're looking at the clear glass. You can see it in the color of the glass. So, there you have it. Upper case versus lower case. So, the upper case is the older Pyrex. So, with that, we're ready to build a new list of check-ins. If you'd like to give a report or an I.O., all I need is your name and call sign. Go ahead now. QOQ07, Quebec Echo Sierra, Justin. Good evening, Justin. I've got you on the list. Next station, please. QOQ06, Romeo Alp, X-ray, Peter, Ivo, Mike, KJ7, VEU, Michael. Okay. I got all three of you. I got KJ7, June. I got Peter, and then I got Mike, KJ7, VEU. Next station, please. For goals 1 November, Yankee, Santa, 4T1, NYX."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-08T09:54:58+00:00","id":15269,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15268,"text":" Good morning, WQ7H, this is James. Thank you for filling in for NR7, Ever Refuse 7 Oreos. I love it. I don't know what happened this morning. I tried to connect and my gizmo just turned red and went crazy, so I just, I had to turn it off. So something weird happened. And I can only assume that if you were having interference problems, it was coming from me. Because my thing turned all red and was going nuts. So that's, there it is, blame me. There it is, there you go. I'm off to get some bids on some car maintenance stuff for my daughter. Isn't that always how it is? There you go. So I'm gonna stop by Greg's Japanese, oh is that, can I do that? Can I say the name? Well it's that or Honda. They used to make it simple. Remember those days? And they did too. That was a long, long time ago. I can still remember before the music died. And then I'm gonna go to Vetco and buy a, an eighth inch plug so I can hook up my paddles to my new radio. And that's what I'm doing. Good morning everyone. And we'll be back later to talk to Jack. Yay, beautiful day. You know, temps in the 70s, sunshine. Sunshine don't burn. And RTFM, this is James, back to net. Another quick comment when you get through to next station's view on UKZ. Oh Roger that, got you Daryl. I'll be back to you here in just a second for a recheck. And James, yeah, yes you can mention names as long as you have no pecuniary interest in that business. I can recommend a restaurant, that kind of thing. Hey, no problem. But yeah, you can't do business over the radio which is why there are times people have asked me about specific questions about guitars and I have to say, you need to call me. I can't talk about this. So some things I can and some things I can't and I tend to try and be very careful about doing that. So yeah. And what was the other one? I don't know, I don't know what else you said and I was gonna comment on it. I have the foggiest clue what it was. But hey, great to hear from you James and you take care. Have a wonderful Friday. Still trying to say Wednesday, it's Friday. Friday, Friday, Friday. And we will catch you again later, 73s. Daryl, I'll be back to you. Let me get this last check in and then I'll be back and give you a shout for a recheck. KJ7 Victor, Echo Uniform. Please. Well, you know that retirement theory. You'll have more time when you do your projects. Well, you know, that goes, fades real fast when you realize how life works. Let's see, I've watered my fig tree and a whole lot of the front yard and trying to revitalize grass and bringing in more birds from my bird sanctuary that way and insects. Because they come in and they love that water. I don't have a bird bath and it hasn't rained here much. So I do that and I'll have a good water bill for this month but you know, I'm trying to keep the birds fed in water and keep it away from the rats. But yeah, it's like that. Let's see, oh, and my penchant for just dropping in on things and supernatural events and just oddball. I show up and there it is, kinds of thing. Yesterday I went and stopped by my church to pick up, pick some raspberries out front. You know, and I got about eight or 10. It was hard to park and there's all these people around. And I bumped into Marlon Bortman's memorial service. And I go in and yeah, I knew him. And you know, Sheila says, glad you could come. You know, his wife. No, I just showed up and picked blueberries but here I am again on call just like I always show up and do other things and unexpectedly. And it's a party or what. Break for a moment here. And yeah, those who know me know that I'm just there. Things happen right in front of me. And I go, okay, I saw that. Oh, like I went through Oso the day before that slide because I wanted to go Friday and visit a friend of mine up the river there. And yeah, I beat the traffic and then the next day I went to the area where it's always raining and hailing and cold and wet. They had a slight surprise and they put a bunch of homes in there. Somebody doesn't remember anything apparently about that part of Oso and 530. Okay, well, you know, back to the future. I'm gonna go back to the senior center and work with no ISP on their internet. Thanks Dave, KJ7VEU 73. Hey, great to hear from you. And boy, I certainly remember the Oso slide. Wow, that was quite the event. And I'm very sorry about all the loss of life. Holy cow, what a disaster to put it mildly. So, hey, well, take care 73s. And yeah, it's funny how things work out that way when you walk into something and it's like, oh yeah, okay. I do that as well. And yeah, quite frequently. Or you'll think of somebody and they'll call you the very next day, you know, that you haven't thought of in years. And then it's like, all of a sudden you get a call from them and yeah, I do that all the time. So there you go. Well, 73s, we will catch you later and have a wonderful Friday. Let's go back and get the recheck gear. Darrell, what you got going on? Come on, V01, V01. Uniform kilo, Zulu, take it away. Yeah, definitely Victor Oscar, for sure. A lot of people put in Victor Zero and then they don't get me coming up. In regard to the radio stuff, I actually worked at a college radio station back when I was in high school as a communications credit. And then years later, this was about maybe six or seven years ago now, I actually found this service online called RadioNami. They've since been bought up by the shoutcast, I believe. And what RadioNami did was it let you upload all your MP3s to their site and you could create an automated 24-7 radio station. You could even put in advertisements, station identifiers, you know, all that type of thing. The kicker with RadioNami was they paid out the royalties to the music you played because I think that's the real kicker, right? With doing a pirate radio station is the artists don't get their royalties and they do from commercial radio stations. So RadioNami let you set all that up and then once you got it all rolling, it just played in an app on your phone 24-7. But then you could take a piece of software called Rocket Broadcaster and link it to that account and then you could go live. I used to do that a couple times a week, I'd go live and then I had Facebook messengers output audio patched in so I could take online requests through voice, you know, on the station and stuff and play whatever music people wanted to hear or whatever I felt like I was in the mood to play. And then those live broadcasts were archived so you could call them up again at a later date and I got out of it. I did it for like six or eight months. It didn't really take off. You know, I mean, I used to get maybe 20 consecutive listeners and stuff like that, but it didn't really take off so I gave up on it. But there are services out there for anybody that is interested, you can actually set up an actual radio station. Like it doesn't broadcast over RF, but an internet radio station that could be as good quality as an RF radio station if someone knew what they were doing. And if you got sponsors and things like that, you could actually put their advertisements over there and make a bit of money off it, but it didn't go that way for me so I just gave up on it. But it was a cool venture nonetheless and I had a lot of hams tuning in. I recently got into game streaming, playing video games and I got a game capture device and a streaming account set up and I've got into doing that recently. So you gotta have hobbies, man, and mine, having a background in computer science and communications. I worked for the Canadian government for a while back in the day doing communications for consulates and embassies in different countries around the world for the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs. So I've got a background in this stuff and I just find it fascinating, man, with technology and radio, you know, things."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-24T21:31:14+00:00","id":9739,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":9738,"text":" fishing, biking, podating, and yeah, chatting on PSRG, that's awesome. N3-LNO? I was, um, I'm sorry, I was far away from the mic, but, um, yes. N3-Oink-Blue-Oink, please come ahead with your recheck. Okay, thank you very much. This is N3-LNO. I just wanted to explain what PEO stands for, I know you know what it stands for, but what we do is help women with scholarships so they can go to college. And it's a wonderful organization. And then of course, the meetings are held once a month at three different churches. And we take turns every, you know, each month for three months. And then, um, we always go out to lunch afterwards, so that always makes it fun too. So I just wanted to throw that in. Thanks, Rebecca. November 3rd, I'll do my concert. Well, thank you for coming back with that explanation. Yeah, I love it. I love, yeah, I love that. I love that you do that, and it's just a consistent thing that you've done. That's, yeah, that's amazing. Education. Education comes in all forms, and yeah, that's awesome. I love it. I love that you do that. And, yeah, again, thank you so much for coming back with that explanation about PEO, Philanthropic Education Organ- Organization. Alright, next on the list is Mike in Magnolia, KJ7VEU. Please come ahead with your report. Hi, Rebecca and Lynette. Um, yeah, uh, PEO is a new, uh, TLA for me. Um, and, uh, I think I've ever been a doctor that didn't know what a TLA was. And, uh, there's a, there's a business with a lot of TLAs in it. It's like any, a lot of, anybody uses TLAs every day. And many of them don't even know it. Uh, but, uh, just don't, just don't. It means three letter acronym. Um, and, uh, you know, I know a few. I wondered, uh, if you took the, the, the, the AAA, Triple Z, and you randomized them as a, as a, uh, a sequence, like, you know, ham radio licenses are. And, uh, and then look at one-on-one at a time and think of how many acronyms or abbreviations or what for each one you have. And then, um, add them up. Now, I suppose that number is probably about as big as a Googleplex. But, I don't know. I, I would think a mathematician would be able to figure out the number of combinations between, you know, like, in fact, AAA, Triple X is a great band name. I, I thought that's about fantastic. Which is, you know, is about as best, as good as it gets for a band name. Um, so, anyways, there's a big number for you to consider. Uh, have a good night everybody. And 73T, Rebecca, good, uh, to check in on your net. KJ7VEU. Well, thanks for that, Mike. I was, yeah. Fun facts. Fun facts with Mike from Magnolia. And his cat, Katrina. Well, 73, Mike, thank you so much for stopping by. And, yeah. Yeah, thanks so much for stopping by. I'm obviously getting tired. Here we are. But next, it's Megan. K9MLR, KK7, IJZ33, Megan. Good evening to you, Rebecca, and everyone out there on the net. K9MLR, Megan, here at Pullman, Newcastle. 33, back to you there, Rebecca, and all the other wilds out there. I heard Lisa and Elaine, and I know others are out there too. Just finally relaxing here, Rebecca. Well, sort of. I'm not sure if I can do this, but I can probably do this. Make the bed. She's in the dryer, so I still have to do that. But the office is all prepped and ready for him to come work on it this weekend. What a project that was. Lots of things to reorganize when we get it all put back together, but it's going to look beautiful. So, looking forward to that. We went to Red Robin and had a little date night for dinner, so that was nice. I'm just kind of fluttering around. There's lots to do, you know, that goes. Sending it back to you. Thanks for doing the net. 73, K9MLR. Fireworks appetizers at Red Robin. What's up? French fries and broccoli. Well, that's great. Yeah, that's fun. I'm excited to see your gray office. You're excited about gray. But there'll be no more popcorn ceiling. Well, 33, Megan. Have a wonderful night, and I'm glad that y'all had a fun date night at Red Robin. All right, next on the list is Brooks K9 BDC. What's going on, Brooks? Well, good evening, Rebecca and everyone at K9 BDC. Brooks here. Well, Rebecca, I think the color is going to be great. Get it? Great. Oh, man. Oh, let's see. It's been a busy week. It feels really good to have the office all prepped up. Yeah, it took me a lot of time to get everything out of there, and threw a bunch of stuff away. Got some stuff packed up. I still have some more things to get rid of. Got the old desk all disassembled in parts, and it's a quick open dumpster eventually. But then, yeah, so looking forward to tomorrow, the board meeting, and then Sunday the rain or shine, and then, yeah, hopefully Sunday evening the office will be all done and I can start putting the desk together. So, a lot's going on, but that's all right. It is Friday night, and we are just hanging out relaxing and listening to the net now. So, and it was, let's see, the appetizers for me were mozzarella twists. Yeah. Anyway, thanks for doing that, Rebecca. Set up for you, everyone. And radio waves from the K9s, Tracy and Matt. K9 BDC. Hey, Tracy. Ah, I get it. I get it. Great. Um, just so, I keep on thinking every time I say that I'm like, oh yeah, remember that time I picked a grey color from Cami's bedroom? Ah, anyway, it's going to be beautiful. I love it. A new desk, a new everything. A new everything. Just taking care of your house. Why not make your house your home? Why not? That's great. This is Office N60 and Levy. It's going to be great. I love it. Great. It's going to be great. Well, 73 and 88 to you both, and so many kisses to Trixie and Remy. And you'll have a fun filled, busy, busy weekend. Of course. Alright. This is Rebecca KK7IJZ. Next on the list, we have an I from Jason. And then we have an N from VK4YEO. Maybe. I think I did that right. VK4YEO. Please come ahead with your report. Good evening there, Rebecca. Yes, it's VK4YEO down in Brisbane, Australia. Big hello. This is the first time call on the All Star Note. Big thank you out there to KV5FMU for these videos. Otherwise, I wouldn't be talking to you here tonight. A little bit nervous. It's a first time call. So, yeah, down here in Australia, it's about 3 o'clock that day afternoon. Hello to everyone there on the... Is this your first contact? Is this the first time you're talking to somebody on the net? On a net or at all? Back to you. Rebecca, I've been on a net before, but just Australian ones. This is the first time on the All Star Note. I've only been on a net for about a week. Mainly due to all the videos there that KV5FMU, Freddie, made me put out. So thank you, Freddie. Oh, that's amazing. I love that. Welcome. We're the Puget Sound Repeater Group up here in Seattle, Washington, and, yeah, in the United States, obviously. So, yeah, I'm really excited to be here. So, yeah, put our All Star Note as one of your favorites and come back and visit us. Come back and visit us. We want to hear what's going on in Brisbane. We usually have... There's someone else new. Why can't I find this call sign? Let me see. Oh, yes, we have another Brisbane operator that checks in pretty frequently to... Nope, can't find... Nope. I can't find his call sign, but anyway, that's okay. But, yeah, Fred checks in all the time as well. And just in case you didn't know, he retired. He works so much. He does so much. But that's great. Don't be nervous. You sounded amazing. Come back. Come back and visit us. Our All Star Note is 2462, and we're also a really active repeater, which is kind of a unique thing. So even if you're just, you know, farting around the house and just want someone to chat with, have a quick Q, so throw your call sign out, and there's a 100% chance that someone will call back and be happy to have a Q, so with you. So, well, that's great. Thank you so much for joining us tonight. And it's good to know that we still exist in the future. So from the land of the past to Brisbane in the future, 7-3, and thanks for stopping by. Well, that is it. I'm tired. I'm going to go to bed. I was going to do another last call, but I'm not. I'm going to go to bed. I'm calling it. It's been a long week. Today's Friday, right? This is Rebecca K. Tasek, IJZ. Just a reminder that tomorrow at 1.30 is the PSRG board meeting. The Zoom link is already posted on our website for whoever would like to join. All of our board members are the only folks that can vote. But yeah, come and see everybody, all of our little faces, Brady Bunch style, and see all the people that just keep this repeater system together. It's amazing. You can't even imagine how many folks keep the PSRG going. It's amazing. Amateur Radio Operators, it's a service. This is truly a service. Tomorrow at 1.30 pm Pacific time, the Zoom link is posted on our website, which is PSRG.org. That's tomorrow Saturday, I think I said Friday, Saturday. Tomorrow Saturday, 1.30 pm board meeting. And then on Sunday, Ice Cream Social at Green Lake. Everything that you need to know is at PSRG.org. That's PSRG.org. I'd like to thank everyone for joining me this evening. It would not have been much of a net without you. And I'd like to thank Puget Sound Repeater Group for the use of this repeater. For more information about PSRG, please visit PSRG.org. PSRG has been hosting this daily for well over 30 years. And the nets are a great opportunity for you to test your equipment. Because, if you don't test your equipment, we can't hear you. I will now be closing this net at 10.11 ish pm Pacific time. 7.3 everybody, have a wonderful weekend. And I look forward to seeing all y'all Brady Bunch style on Saturday. And in 3D on Sunday. Wait, I can't go. But, you'll get to see a whole bunch of other people. And, eat ice cream. This is Kilo Juliet 7 Victor Echo Uniform out here in the dark. It's kind of nice tonight. This is my kind of summer weather, you know, nice and warm but calm. Actually the propagation is kind of lousy tonight. I could really barely hear the Simplex Net folks. But I got, and I'm running my, I brought my beam, my five element diamond Yagi out here. So I got that propped up on its side. And I'm probably coming in okay with this. It's probably as good or better than my three tri-band ground plane up there. So I just tried to see what I can do. Maybe I'll try a little Simplex work or other repeaters with this thing and play around with it some more. It's been a while. I'll see, otherwise, I don't know. Just downloading some Wikipedia pages. Oh, in my finding pages, what was this one? List of 3D films. Oh no, before that there is films by technology. So yeah, like I'm sure this film is like, just there is a three strip Technicolor and there's all kinds of, and massive lists of films. I think the list of 70mm films is like 900 Wikipedia pages, things like that. It's quite a rabbit hole of video and film technology because of the different, oh there's a, I found software for it, 4K scope. It will do 4K video on a 7, Windows 7 computer or more. And there's anything, there's also they do an HDMI, they do a display port, and they do other forms of video analysis software for Windows or yeah, for Windows 7 or 10, depending on the complexity. Those look like they're really worth it for those who do production because I haven't, I'm not familiar with those. I'm just familiar with vector scope technology. Digital is, I'm going to drop."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-18T21:53:13+00:00","id":19059,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":19058,"text":" V-E-U. So that's Michael. Wow, I thought you said B-E-U. Let me correct this. V for Victor. You are kind of scratchy. Let me get back to the voter scope and look at the voter scope as you reply. Michael, is that you? I'm Michael. I'm a newspaper here. This is Joan, as in Joan of Arc, on Broadway Avenue in Seattle, Washington. Call time, KXQW, Kilo X-ray 2 Charlie with you. And I am running the meds tonight. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7. I don't know what that was. Asking for KJ7VEU. Victor, echo uniform. Michael, was that you just now? There we go. Yeah. Sounding okay. And it's either my antenna connection or my 4 watts or the admix sphere because it's been pretty lossy lately. In fact, I thought I had lost all my 3 meter FM reception to the north and south. The only thing I was getting was K-O-W and I went, huh? What happened? Somebody eat my antenna cable and it turns out it was just a, we had to power drop so I had to go reset a strip. And all my 10 dB gain, 3 meter radio came in and then also that would mean if I turned on my UHF preamp I'd get my digital TV from everywhere very easily. Even though I'm pointed to Salt Spring Island basically. But everything local comes in. 28th kind of flaky. I can move the antenna and get that just flying off from here. And back to you, Joan. Yeah, I thought my TH28 wasn't working or something. It's working. I just haven't found the right tone, circuit, selection, something. You know, the memories work as long as the battery is charged. And I got two lead acids and two lithium ions. I just bought those but I don't have a lithium ion charger. So I think the radio has one built in. I just have to plug into the top. I don't know, I haven't tried all my F6 supplies on this thing in the top. It might work on this one. It's a 13-2 and then a 7-2 lithium ion. You know, all those variables. So many variables in the world. KJ7VEU, thanks for being there. 88."}]}
