And everyone on the net. It's Madeline, KJ7NUW coming to you tonight from West Seattle. And I had a nice day today. It was so cool seeing the Connections Museum. You know, as funny as I got there after Jack set up for the noon net, I mean he was there kind of early in the morning, and I probably got there at like 11, something like that. Anyway, yeah, I ended up just kind of sitting outside and talking with Jack and all these people were coming in, all these people coming in to visit the museum. And I was so interested in spreading the good news about Ham Radio that I ended up talking to all these people that were coming in and giving out PSRT flyers and telling them about it."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-06T21:12:37+00:00","id":14796,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14795,"text":" And I got mad in there KJ7WQI. That makes a healthy list. So let's go back to the top and chat with Amy KB9IQX33. Amy, how was your day? Well, 33 to you Megan. 73 to Brooks. Thank you for doing the net. 70 howdy! And 73 to everybody on the net. I'm doing pretty I'm doing pretty well even if you're a stickler for a very precise grammar. I'm here curbside. Which I realize this summer is something I have not done as much as previous summers. I have not just, you know, been curbside outside here in my shop, my garage, my driveway. Just ending the day and enjoying the net. And it feels nice. It's a nice summery thing to do. So I'm doing well. Let's see, I had a pretty fun day at work. I was not out in the field. I was actually doing data monkey work all the time. Which then I was like, ah! That's one reason I really love my job. Because some days I get to, you know, you know, put on the grubby work clothes, put on the high-vis vest, have my clipboard and hard hat. And you know, I get to drive around the city and I get to drill holes in the street and pound nails in. Which is cool. And nowadays I get to kick back in the air conditioning, wear masks with people, professionals, have meetings with people, do some desk work. The variety that I enjoy. I love you all. And then I was talking to KJ7NUW just before the net on a different repeater. And it was fun because she was at home and I was kind of roving around within a few block radius of the neighborhood. I checked out this part in the high-tension power line. And I was like, oh, I'm going to go home. I'm going to go home. And I checked out this part in the high-tension power line right away where it looks like some neighbors are getting together and building a little park area. And it was really cool. And then I walked over and I saw, like, I was peering into some of the houses that were for sale in the neighborhood. So I kind of felt like, you know, she was at ops, you know, monitoring field agents. And I was out in the field and, you know, maintaining radio communication, maintaining comms. I think this qualifies as comms with a Z. And, you know, reflecting back, making sure that I completed the mission. So I felt very engaging and like now that I'm listening to the net. I hope everybody had a great day. I hope everybody has a wonderful tomorrow. KB9 IQX. Well, Amy, that is super fun. Curbside at your home QTH. Yeah, that's always fun in the summertime. We always forget how fast summer goes and then we don't get around to all the things we had planned to do this summer, which is always such a bummer. But I guess there's always next summer? I don't know. It's almost like you have to plan it out before it even gets here and then it's here and gone and you're like, wait, but I didn't get to everything. I know what you mean there, Amy. It's hard to get to it all. But glad you got to hang out in the air conditioning today. Well, I guess you didn't really need the air conditioning, but it was nice to be out of the rain, I bet. So that's kind of fun. You get to be in the office and out in the field. That makes it kind of exciting and a little more interesting. It's never the same old, same old, which is always my favorite thing. That's so boring. Glad to hear you got to talk to Madeline, KJ7 and UW before the net. Hope she's doing well. Hopefully we'll get to see you at the ice cream social this weekend at Green Lake on Sunday. You take care, Amy. Have a great rest of your work week and hopefully we'll see you soon. All right, it is 907 p.m. I'm K9MLR Megan. Now we're going to go talk to Ann, K89, EHB33. To you, Ann. Good evening. To the rest of the team. Hey, what's going on? It's an interesting night. My husband had a more interesting time than I did. I'm having a harder time dealing with picnics these days. This one with its spotty seating and rather irregular seats. The layout was more exhausting than I really wanted to deal with. We walked back home and then my husband went back. I guess they're developing little emergency clusters around here and looking for ham radio operators. That's interesting. I don't know anything more about it than that. That was interesting last night. Today I worked on some stories and I'm getting ready to practice some harp and listen to a radio show that I sometimes like. Tomorrow I'll work on some more stuff and do more harp. On Friday I'll be back up at the gallery. That's about all that's happening in my life. I'm less than a week away from Worldcon now so I'm making a list of all the stuff I have to do to get ready for the next one. Including assembling a little actual military costume. I've got to work on that tomorrow. Anyway, that's about all the news at IS News. 73, 33, 88, oh the numbers. Thanks, Megan and Brooks for doing the net. Thank you all for listening. I love you all. This is KA90HB back to net."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-07T22:05:11+00:00","id":15110,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15109,"text":" W7JFM, John. Hey John, I got you on the list, W7JFM. And I think that I heard Madeline. Never underestimate women, is that you back there? Yes, sir. Hi Rebecca. KJ7NUW. Sweet, got you on the list, 33 Madeline. More stations please. QLQ07, get back, I got you here, Justin. I owe. KJ6RYC, they're still pointing their, I think that line is calibrate, it's what it's called, calibration. And since I figured out that it's probably some Middle Eastern guy, Dubai Chocolate. Dubai Chocolate. There's a guy selling, trying to sell me Dubai Chocolate, which I've never seen before. But, I guess they have the latest of the latest military technology, which might be like 30 years ago. And that you have to like shine a light and then, what does the crap happen? And then they figure out where you are. But no, I don't think they can. They're a little confused, but there's a whole bunch of them outside. I use them for target practice, but, okay KJ6RYC, I don't know if I don't survive this. That's what my tongue is telling me, but no. I mean, it was good to be pushing down the grass from above, but maybe it's time to transition. KJ6RYC, here and out. I can't sleep tonight, so I'll be positive. KJ6RYC. Cody, Alpha Golf 7 Lima Romeo. Were you an IO or were you in? I am IO EG7LR. Sweet. Got your IO Cody. Have a great week and I keep thinking it's Friday. It's Thursday. Have a great Thursday. I'm going to go ahead and draw a line there and go back to the top to John W7JSM. Hey John, I'm ready. I'm ready for a guitar report. Please come ahead with your guitar report. This is repeaters. Well hello Rebecca and I'm ready for this John 77JSM. Yes, it was a guitar lesson today. I had a pretty good lesson today. We recapped on stuff that I was supposed to be working on all week from last week and he was happy with my progress on it. Where I was at with it, we added a couple more things for me to practice. A continuation of a song I've been learning, but I've just learned the first part of it. Now I'm going on to the second part. The Eagles take it easy. Trying to figure it out, but it should be fun. Anyway, I'm going to try to make it down to Green Lake on Sunday. I'm not positive, but I'm going to try to. Hopefully I'll see everybody down there. W7JSM. Oh that'll be fun. I hope you do make it John. Yeah, that'll be fun if you get to make it. That's great. Working on songs. Leo is really into, he's gone through phases with this, but he's really into sea shanties right now. Again, so it's been a few months, but he's back on them. So we've been listening. We've been exploring a lot of different types of sea shanties and it just makes me think of like playing the guitar. Anyway, playing the guitar and singing sea shanties. They're so fun. They're so like dark and dramatic and beautiful. Sometimes they really are beautiful. Anyway, keep on playing. I love it. Work, work, work. That's amazing. I love it. I love your guitar journey John and I hope that you get to eat ice cream on Sunday regardless. Always get ice cream. Yeah. 10 Skritches to spin and 33 to T-naught. Alright, next on the list is Madeline. KJ7. Yeah, my wife just said that she's, after listening to your check-in now, she's hungry. I love visiting Canada, and actually, my, two of my stepchildren just went up there for a concert, actually, in Vancouver a couple days ago. But yeah, the food's good. You know what I told her to bring back, and she forgot, I think, was Coffee Crisp, something we don't get down here, that they have it up there, so. I'm probably dating myself, but I believe, I could be wrong, but I believe I'd remember buying that in the United States many, many years ago, and being disappointed that you can't get it here anymore. Anyway, good stuff, Bill. Have a wonderful weekend, 73, and thanks for stopping by. Next on the list is Madeline, KJ7NUW. Good morning, Madeline. This is repeater station Q. Well, hi, Teresa and Dana. I think Dana's probably there, I don't know. I did tune in a little bit late. But anyway, hello, and hello to everybody on the net. Yeah, it's Madeline, KJ7NUW. I like Canada, too. I hadn't been there for a few years, you know? And went earlier this year and really enjoyed it. So I've been a couple of times. One time, my parents and I went up there just for brunch, really, and to go for a walk, and then I went up for an overnight as well earlier this year, and it's lovely. And I agree, lovely people and absolutely beautiful up there. I mean, it's beautiful here, too, but, you know, it's nice to get away for a weekend and see something new and all that. Well, today, this morning, I am in the process of starting a batch of mustard. I've checked in before and talked about how I really enjoy fermenting things. And so I have this year, and I guess part of last year, but anyway, recently, I've gotten into making some stone-ground mustard, and I do it by fermenting it in a jar. And it works the same way as like, you know, sauerkraut or kimchi or whatever. You know, the naturally occurring bacteria just like kind of, you know, softens it and gives it a really nice flavor and, you know, adds some seasoning to it. And it's a really yummy like kind of stone-ground mustard that I love to have with brisket for some reason. Mustard and brisket together has just like become one of my favorite things. So anyway, I'm getting the batch started today. I bought some at a, I bought some mustard seed at a store called Kalustyan's in Manhattan, New York City. And I'm looking forward to trying this particular mustard seed, so anyway. Okay, with that, I will send it back up to you. Thanks so much for hosting, and a radio wave to my friends out there. I look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow at the Ice Cream Social. KJ7 and UW Madeline back to net. Oh my goodness, you guys are making me hungry. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Dana's looking at me like, yeah, that's it. My mouth is watering, yeah, absolutely. Oh, good stuff, Madeline. You have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by this morning, and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Ice Cream Social. Okay, next on the list is Dean, KJ7 ODB. Good morning, Dean. Good morning, Teresa and Dana and everybody on the net. This is Dean, KJ7 ODB. Yeah, a couple of things. So, yeah, creating an all-star node from a Raspberry Pi. One of the ways you can do it, though, the way I did it with mine, is it's probably the most bare bones way to do it. It's literally a Raspberry Pi, it's a Raspberry Pi 3, with one that I just had laying around. And I've got this really cheap USB headset that I plug into it. It doesn't have a transceiver hat or anything like that, so it's literally just a Raspberry Pi with the USB headset. But I don't use it that much, and when I'm away on vacation, I'll check in just using a repeater phone on my iPhone. But I found that that's an option, is to just a Raspberry Pi with a cheap USB headset. It actually works. And anyway, other than that, yeah, I haven't been up to Canada since before the pandemic, and I should go up there because it is, you know, whether it's going to Vancouver or just going to some of the outdoor places up there. It's really nice. I have one of those Nexus cards, so I should take advantage of using it. In fact, I haven't used it since the last time I renewed it, so the next time, you know, I'd hate for them to say, well, you don't use this thing, so we're not gonna let you have it. Although one of the reasons I got it at the time, there was a period of time where getting the Nexus card was the cheapest way to get the TSA PreCheck. So it comes with TSA PreCheck and global entry and all that stuff. It was $50 for a while, but I think they've raised it to either like $100 or $120 because it's so popular. Anyway, I look forward to the ice cream social tomorrow. That should be a lot of fun. And so I hear John, KG7WOI, is going to be there. So it almost doesn't matter whether he checks in today on the net like he normally does at 10, 10, but well, I hope he does check in. And hi to everyone out there. Even to Keith in the Wrenton Highlands, who's another one of the stragglers at the end. Victor Echo One, we'll get the call signed business. Victor Echo One, we'll get the call signed business. Victor Echo One, we'll get the call signed business. Well, hi there Rebecca, and hi to the net. It's Madeline, KJ7NUW. I've just been listening to the net on and off as I'm like kind of puttering around this morning. My current little micro project is that I'm up on the neighbor's roof and I'm like messing around with a, I'm upgrading a mesh casting node. The story there is that where my neighbor lives, he's kind of like up, like he's got more elevation than where my place is. And he's kind of like a little bit on a ridge that like has good, like a good radio horizon. And so I convinced him to put a mesh tastic node up on his roof. So anyway, I'm up here, you know, just like servicing the node a little bit and getting, you know, just like tweaking some configuration and stuff. It was a good little thing to get me out of the house. Anyway, enjoying the net. Thanks for hosting and a radio wave to my friends out there. And that's about it. I think I'll send it back to net control. So K-T-A-7 and UW. Sweet, have fun up there on the roof, Madeline. And yeah, that's fun. Mesh tastic node. I feel like I haven't heard from, I haven't heard from mesh tastic for a while. I feel like people were kind of doing another mesh situation. And yeah, it's good to hear that mesh tastic is still going strong. I love it. And yeah, hopefully see you later on the, at the board meeting if you're off the roof or if you're on the roof. I guess you can attend the board meeting while you're still on the roof, but we shall see. Well 33 and 88, Madeline, have a wonderful day. And it's good, always good to hear from you. Enjoy listening to the net. Next on the list is Amy. KB9 IQX, 33, Amy, please come ahead with your report. Well good afternoon, Rebecca, 33 to you. And I feel like, you know, like there should be little maracas whenever you say my call sign that way. Like you should be shaking maracas in the background. Anyway, I'm doing well. Oh, I'm taking a little breather because, so as I mentioned on the net earlier, our refrigerator decided to stop working and I unplugged it and I'm gonna, you know, look at it, give it a stern look, maybe just like, I've often found that sometimes if you like gently blow on across a porch or a thing that's broken, you know, sometimes that fixes it. So I might do that, poke around, see if I can see anything that's obviously bad. And then plug it in and see what happens. In the meantime, you know, we just kind of took out all the food that's clearly not salvageable, separated it out from the stuff that needs to go out back to the compost. So, I was doing that earlier while listening to the net. Ooh, ripe things smell ripe, you know. Not, you know, I'm not even like a super smeller. My sinuses are actually not that good. I've had like, you know, chronic and periodic sinus issues my whole life, so my sense of smell isn't really that bad. But all ripe food is ripe, that's all I gotta say. And it's really, it always makes me like, think for a second, like I ponder, like deeply and philosophically. I was like, wow, this strong smelling food, you know, like I mean, yes, scientifically there is something given off in food that's gone bad. But sometimes it doesn't even take that much for me. Like sometimes just knowing that something is like, past its prime and I should toss it out, you know, I smell it and it tastes like normal, or it smells like normal food, but at the same time, like something about the fact that I'm taking it out to compost sometimes just makes me like, oh, that's a lot. Even though it might smell just like perfectly fresh food. So anyway, I always think about that every single time when I'm throwing stuff out, food out, or you know, food scraps out to be composted. Like, oh, he's apple, you know, like, these apple cores or whatever. Well, no, because the way I eat apples, I don't leave a core. But for the sake of argument, let's say, oh, these apple cores smell like apples, but I know they're going out to compost. I'm like, oh my God, that smells terrible. The human mind is a weird and funny thing. KB99QX. The human mind is a weird and funny thing. Yeah, I get that. You know, I have been vegan for so long that I just don't really think twice about, like, whether I like leave food out or save my leftovers in the car, you know, whatever the situation is, because I really don't think about that it's going to make me sick. And I live in a house with people that consume animal products, so I've started having to think about that more because I will leave something out that Leo ate, and I'm automatically like, it's garbage, it's trash, because it's not vegan, I just think it's garbage. All this garbage. So, yeah, same thing. It's not even like the smell. I'm just like, I can't. So if it's like a day old, I want nothing to do with it. I will not let them touch. But, yeah, I get it. Yeah, it's like the smell. Maybe either you or Kate just kind of stand by the refrigerator, and the other one of you just take like a rubber mallet or something and just give the refrigerator just a swift, just like whack, just like whack, and maybe that will just whack it back into shape. Bam. There you go. Refrigerator works. I've heard that works too. So your blowing method or my rubber mallet method, I feel like between those, you know, it's already broken, so why not try? Why not try? But, Amy, enjoy your body odor, enjoy your lovely day, and have fun doing whatever you do to that refrigerator. Turn it into something now that it's just a vessel that you can just store stuff in. Turn it into something. 3388. And all in numbers, Amy. Enjoy your day and, yeah, have fun. All right. This is Rebecca, KK7IJZ. Next on the list is N5XCX. KK7IJZ, please come ahead with your report. Great. Thank you very much for taking me. My name is Woody, and I'm in the very Florida. The very is about 46 miles northwest of Orlando. So there is something. And I grew up in Texas, though, so, you know, I'm missing being Texas because both you and the same girl. Well, anyway, just come in, say hi, and I will go about my business and talk to you later on. Yeah, very good evening, and enjoy the weekend. George, search the world. Have a good day right now. N5XCX, 73. Well, thank you so much for your report, Woody, and, yeah, you can, we do have an All-Star node, 2462, so if you're connected to All-Star yet, feel free to come back. We do three of these nets a day. We do have quite a few people from not only all over the world, but a lot of regular folks from Florida. So, yeah, please check in again, and remember, you can connect to us directly. 2462 is our All-Star node. And, Woody, thank you so much for checking in. Have a wonderful day in Florida, and I hope to hear from you again. Next on our list is KF5UCO. Please come ahead with your report. This is KF5UCO. Name is Rick Romeo India Charley, and it's a little marquee thing, Sarah Zero-Necolik, way down Texas way. Well, I am actually on the very tip of Texas, almost in Louisiana, but I'm still in Texas, okay? It is very odd down here today, high humidity, and heat of activity, not getting better for the last four days. And I am really wishing for October to January, because I like to be outside with my dogs, as you can see on my QR head page, I know that's a shameless plug, but they're up there with the ones that are now silent keys that are part of our family and fill in our hearts. And that's really about all I've got, other than I wanted to ask, I just left my iPad on, and so I'm not sure what net and when this net is. I know it's on the Alaska server, but I don't know what net I'm on right now. So if you could give me a time when you guys are on, and I've got a location, a date and time, I would really appreciate it. KF5UCO, back to net control. Well Rick, thank you so much for joining us. I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, so yes, I am very familiar with all of the Texas towns that border Louisiana. I have driven through Texas many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many times. So yes, welcome. This is the WW7PSR repeater located in Seattle, Washington. So we're in the Pacific Northwest. And our all-star node is 2462, so you can connect to us directly. You don't have to connect to us via the Alaska node. So 2462, put us in your favorite. And we do three nets a day, all Pacific time, 9 a.m. noon and 9 p.m. every single day, every single year. And all the nets are different, all the hosts are different. And it's a really, really active repeater system. So even if a net isn't going on and you feel like having a two cell or chatting with someone, just throw your call sign out and there's a 100% chance that some wonderful person will answer back to you and you'll have just an awesome, friendly two cell. So yeah, we are the WW7PSR two meter repeater located in Seattle, Washington. We are the Puget Sound repeater group. That is psrg.org, psrg.org if you want to look us up. Three nets a day, 9 a.m. noon and 9 p.m. So welcome, Rick. I hope to hear from you again. 7-3 and yeah, enjoy, enjoy, yes, enjoy Texas. All right, this is Rebecca KK7IJZ. Next on the list is Corey in Nova Scotia. I think I got a VE1 out of your call sign, but Corey in Nova Scotia, please come ahead with your report."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-09T22:19:43+00:00","id":15685,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15684,"text":" Well, we'll keep it at this nice small round and I may do a check-in at the end. So we're going to go over to Matt, KJ7WQI for a recheck. Well, hey there, Dean. I wanted to pop in here quickly and consider how can you give me a signal report real quick. K-67, go ahead and try. Oh, there's a little noise, but you're perfectly readable, much better than you were before. Over to you. Perfect. Before I was in the parking lot of the North Cape Park in Ryerson, I had to pick up Anna. We had our ties moved and now we're back at the house. These are ties moved by my mountain for a full day on fire and I have a flooding which is a really good tie for your son. I have a built in the area, but as tight as I am, right there across from the base where you can see it, and I can see it from the front yard over there and the front hill is really good. It's very, very crazy. I got to go for three minutes, but if you use this place, what will I hear up there? I wanted to pop back in and actually hopefully be heard now that I'm back at the CH. I will throw it back to you, lovely area, and we'll get up and run around that fair and recheck. Hopefully we'll be able to get back to KJ7WQI. Alright, thanks a lot Matt. Well, the good news and the bad news. The good news is, I'm really glad you checked in. The bad news is you mentioned Thai food and I am now hungry. So, anyway, hopefully see you tomorrow at the Ice Cream Social. So next we have from Florida, Elaine, M3OMO. How are you tonight? Hello Dean, this is M3OMO, aka Oink Blue Oink. I'm doing very well, thank you. It was about 102 today. We had a very strong thunderstorm this afternoon. One of the neighborhoods not too far from us, the electricity went out. Ours blinked on and off, but that was it. Which brings me to my next subject. I had decided, my brother and I, my brother who lives with me, Rob, and I had decided that we would get a Generex generator. Charlie called me and told me he's had one for about five years and it's absolutely wonderful. And then when my brother went to his church's rehearsal for the band for tomorrow morning, he found out that the lead guitarist also has a Generex generator. And I do think that it's important, in Florida in particular, during this hurricane season, that we have something that will keep us cool and keep the lights on and keep the freezer and refrigerator cold. And protect the animals as well as ourselves. So anyway, on Monday I'm going to call and ask about that and ask the propane guy that I get propane from what it would entail to get an extra tank so the Generex can run off of that. I do not have natural gas like some people do, but we can certainly run it off of propane. So that's my next investment and I think it will be a very, very good one. So everyone have a great day tomorrow. Enjoy all the ice cream. I wish I could be there. But it's a little far from Florida to, I believe, Washington. We're a three hour difference here too. It's almost 1 a.m. So 73's everybody. Have a great night, a good day. Have extra ice cream for me. Take care everyone. November 3. Oscar Mike Oscar. Well thanks Elaine. I'm going to maybe bribe Meghan into giving me your ticket so I can have some extra ice cream. Anyway, I appreciate all the talk about generators. It's always great to have extra power. Well especially if you live in a place where you've got hurricanes and other forms of natural disasters. Of course, out here we've got volcanoes and earthquakes and occasional wind storms. But when you look at the price of backup power, it's becoming pretty negligible. Also keeping the refrigerator going. Madeline, KJ7NUW was talking recently about how she would put her refrigerator on her power backup. And how efficient the refrigerator is and how little power it uses. So it's a really good thing to have. Anyway, I appreciate you checking in. I'm also looking forward over the next several weeks hearing some football reports from you. I don't know if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have played yet. But Charlie is coming up and maybe he has some. I know he always talks about his Eagles. So actually over to you Charlie. How are you tonight? Thanks for watching!"},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T22:09:33+00:00","id":16030,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16029,"text":" I'm going to start on the check in. This is the show off of the tango whiskey golf county in Wichita Falls, Texas. Anybody who's on the net tonight, it's good to be here again. Sometimes my board gets in the wind, and I'm not able to get on. All right, it's a busy day today. We're 13 minutes away from our 100, 700 micro ride here in Wichita Falls. And so we're doing a little bit of the Angioregionally and the Palm Church, the waste blanket, and all the folks who are coming up to the rest stops and the recent fire vehicles and water trailers and things like that. Getting our supplies ready for our meeting in the 2030s from now, but trying to get all that stuff squared away. And other than that, doing a little bit of research, trying to get some interest in all this fire and maybe get a couple more people checked into y'all's nets every in the evening. So we're kind of working on a cloud hub or a node and doing some research on that and exactly what would it take and where to go and what servers are the better ones and all the way from whichever ones will get us the best throughput to be able to get more people attached in. So that's all that we've got going on here in North Central Texas. And here is Tony. Turn up by 5, 10, and he's off. Thank you. Hey, good stuff there, Tony. Well, tell us after the event how that piece had hotter than hell a bike ride there. It sounds like you're doing a lot of coordination there for the hand radio and the water stations and all that good stuff. So once again, another two examples back to the back of using hand radio in the community for events. We love that around here for sure. So we have some other hubs that connect in. We regularly get the dew drop in and some others there that join us and we get stations checking in from all over the world. We love it there. So let us know how it goes. If I give some constructive feedback, Tony, you're a little bit hot on your mic. It almost sounds like you're just too close. I'd say just back off maybe a couple inches. Not sure what kind of mic or radio you were talking into through the All Star. It was a little bit hot, a little bit overdriven there. Other than that, it sounded good. So thanks for that, Tony. Let us know how it goes. We'll get you down the log. All right, again, I'm Brian, KE7KZH, 859 O'ClockNet. We have three more ins on this round. So up next, Ron, how are you doing tonight? HE7EXM, please give us a report. Well, this is Kate, HE7EXM here. My report goes as follows. I had a nice day today. Although it could have been better had I had a one bus away info that I really wanted. But it wasn't top, so I couldn't tell which bus was supposed to go anywhere close. So I wasn't able to show up to the ringer time, but there are other times. And so I know there was a time when I was supposed to show up at the next one. But I hope everybody had fun over there at the park because that's a good park to go to. Otherwise, I'm doing okay. And I've been wondering why I was feeling kind of, you know, slinky. And it's because it's hot. I didn't count on it to be this warm today. I was thinking like 60s, 70s. I didn't count on it being 80s, but okay. But I'm feeling okay. I didn't count on it being 80s, but okay. Other than that, I had a nice long talk with KJ 7R Dale earlier. Hold on a second. And I was via text, so we were texting back and forth. So I'm pretty sure that anybody that was near KJ 7R Dale heard a little conversation that was going on. But basically I was teasing him. He was teasing me when he started it. I finished it. But of course he had to come back. And so I told him I can't turn the sun off. It doesn't work that way. My arm's not that long. It's about a million miles away. It's kind of hard for me to stretch my arm out that far. But we had a good chat. So that was good. And then I mentioned something about cup cups. So yeah, that conversation was good. But then I also asked him how was his little trip going up the stairs. He said he was fine. Although a little mishap, but otherwise it's fine I guess. But we had a good time chatting via text. And so I know everybody had fun today. And I'm glad they did because that's the way to go. Especially for being almost the end of summer. So who knows. I'm going to go have a good time listening to the rest of you. Because that's the thing to do. And now that I'm going to get us back on. This is KJ7EXM. Turn you back to net control. Like yours. Well, I'm glad you had a great day there, Sean. Even if you didn't make the Rainers shine ice cream net today. I just hope you had a good time. And I'll see you next time. Sean, have you not learned how to turn the sun off yet? Come on. Good luck. You have a great day there, Sean. We'll catch you down the log here real soon. All right. Down to Zephyrhil, Florida we go. Tonight Elaine. And three oink, oink. Otherwise known as oink entry OMO. I'll say it correctly there. How are you tonight, Elaine? This is repeater station Kielo. Thank you, Brian. This is Elaine. And three OMO. I'm doing very well tonight. Thank you. It's been a great day. It's been warm. We felt like 102 degrees. Which is nothing unusual for what it is this time. Had some good things going on. We had some good things going on. We had some good things going on. Had some good things coming up this week. Had to make a phone call tomorrow. I decided to get a generator for the house. Something like a Generex generator. But I have to call a cocaine company. And see how we go about hooking up another extra tank. And if they deal with anybody here like Generex or someone else. For a generator. Because I decided with Rob, my brother, we don't need to be without power or air conditioning or lights. Especially me with my heart problems and COPD. And the animals. They've got to stay cool. So I think this will be a good investment. So I've got to do some digging on that tomorrow. And some other things. Let me see what else. Not very much is happening. It's been a good day. Good week. I decided to get a little more productive. And start writing or doing my pedaling machine twice a day. To make a 30 minutes a day now. And I've got a weekly plan of books that I want to make. And I've got a weekly book that I want to make. And I've got a weekly book that I want to make. And I've got a weekly book that I want to make. And I've got a weekly plan of books that I want to make. And I've got a weekly plan of books that I want to make. And I've got a weekly plan of books that I want to make. And I'm also going to be starting a 52 week travel study for women on my own. So I think that will be a good thing to do. There's certain meetings every day. So that will be good. And I kind of like the idea that it takes Sunday off. So you can catch up with your reading if you've missed any. Or just be with family. Which is the most important. So I'm looking forward to this week to seeing how I can change some of my own behaviors. And make it a little more productive. I still want to watch my game show and things like that too. But I've been sitting too much and not getting as much done as I need to get done. Let me take a break. In 3LMO returning. I also have to start going through all the papers in the house and my desk. And blocking out all of the information I don't want people to know before I shred it. And put it in the garbage. I've got to start doing things like that every week. To try and clear some of this stuff out and get more organized. So when my time comes, and I think it's going to be anytime soon. But when my time does come, my brothers won't have to go through all that and decide what's this and what's that. I can get rid of all the stuff I don't need anymore and make it a lot easier for everyone. So that's my plan for this week. All the animals are doing fine. My brother starts driving school bus tomorrow for the year. And here in Florida, his first pick up is at 521. And school starts at 630. Unbelievable. But then they're out at 1 o'clock. So that works out well. But he doesn't get home until 4. Anytime he picks up all the kids and he gets back to running place and all that, back to his school. But anyway, school starts tomorrow. So everybody have a good day. Good day tomorrow. Or today actually. Because it's quarter to 1 here a.m. So it's a Monday here already. So thanks for taking my call, Brian. 73, 88 to all. I love you all. November 3, ask and like Oscar. Wow, school starts so early there. That is crazy here in the Pacific Northwest. Or at least in Washington state, the Puget Sound area. We usually want to start until the beginning of September. So start so early. But good for Rob for driving the bus there. Keep all the kids safe there for sure. And yeah, I did get a generator installed right when I moved into this house a few months ago. It was one of the first things I did. And yeah, I did. We had to talk to the gas company, natural gas, to see what the line could support. I could not get a whole home generator without them. And I'm not going to get a whole home generator. Without them ripping up all the gas lines. And it would have cost many thousands of dollars. And they would have to remove my beautiful woodedendron bushes and all that good stuff. So I opted for a little bit smaller generator that covers all the essentials there. So I figured, eh, it's good enough in that emergency. So definitely good luck with that. And waves over to Rob and his first day driving the kids tomorrow. We'll catch you down the log there, Elaine. You have a good night. Alright, and then last on this round, we're going to go and see how Javier is doing over in Bremerton. Kilo Mike 7, Alpha, Quebec, November. How are you tonight? Please give us your report. Good evening guys, this is Javier, Kilo Mike 7, Alpha, Quebec, November. Just to let you know, I'm a movie here. I did my second time here and then I went to the 9 o'clock AM net. I just did my first IO. I'm just here to learn from you guys and just be people. Naturally from the island of Puerto Rico. And I moved to the States in 2010. Due to the nature of my job, I'm an aircraft mechanic. I've been around all the country. But then in 2019, I decided to move to the beautiful Pacific coast. In Seattle, I live at Howard. Right now I'm at Port Orchard. Working actually working on an aircraft for the rest of the week here. But yeah, I'm just here to meet all this great group of friends and camaraderie around here. And hope to learn more. I apologize for the first try that I did, the first transmission. I was trying to test my HD. Looks like the battery was a little bit low. That's why I had to go through the EcoLink. But it's just baby steps in learning. Guys, 73.12, you guys and 88. Have a good night guys. Hey, well good stuff to have you here. I just welcome welcome. Sounds like you did an I.O. this morning. But what you stumbled upon and it gets you figured out. We are here at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. seven days a week. We also have a new net that happens every day. And so yeah, there are other nets that happen around here. So we're really glad you stumbled upon the Puget Sound Repeater Group. And again, more information about our group. We have a website there called psrg.org. We also have a Facebook page which has a lot of activity that's going on. So if you head over to Facebook and you do a search. If you have Facebook. And you do a search for the Puget Sound Repeater Group discussion group. It is a closed group but if you request membership. It's pretty easy to get in there. You answer a couple of quick questions there. We do have over a thousand members in there. And so there's a lot of good topics. We do a lot of in-person events. There's even one today over at Green Lake Park. So this is a very friendly group of people. We have, how do you say, we have new hams, old hams, seasoned hams, black forest hams. We've got it all. So yeah, if you're looking for those elmers. You definitely are in the right place. So yeah, when you check in the first time you were just barely hitting the repeater. So I'm not sure what equipment you have. But hopefully you can get that battery charged. And if you have an antenna you can hook up. We do have a lot of people over on the peninsula. You know, Paulsboro, Bremerton. Even, what is that, oh, Kingston, like over there. We have a lot of people over on that side of the ladder as well. So definitely welcome, welcome. I hope to catch you down the log here, Javier. And good luck working on that plane this week. All right. Oh yeah, so sorry. One thing that we ask, it's kind of an FCC format. Actually, let me reset. Sorry, you're taking a really long time there. One thing that we ask, and it keeps the FCC happy. And it notifies to me that you're done with your transmission. Is that you close with your call sign. So let me just send it back to you. Let me know what kind of radio that you are using. And how you're trying to make it into the net with RF. And then just close with your call sign. Back to you, Javier, real quick. Yes, sir. So I was just trying with my FP5, my GASU FP5. I was just trying with that. Like I said, I just got it a few days ago. I'm in programming channels, setting up tones, offsets and everything. Even though the GASU does a lot of the work for you. But actually, yeah, I'm just looking forward. And people are looking forward to it. I'm just looking forward. And keep learning and keep learning. And I appreciate for that. And back to you, the control. This is Kilo Mike 7, Alpha Quebec November. Have a good night. Yeah, you stood to be in. Total BN. All right. Very good. Thank you for that report. I hope to catch you down the log there. All right. I am Brian KE7KZH, the 69 o'clock net. And I am the PSRG repeater in Seattle, Washington. There's a long list here. So if you're waiting to check in, just hold off a few more minutes. I'm going to read a few announcements. Let me reset. So I do pull these announcements over from that Facebook PSRG discussion group that I mentioned just a little bit ago. Jack KI7RMU keeps a pinned topic. So if you click under, if you're in the group and you click on the featured, it will be right at the top there. So if you miss anything I'm about to say, just head on over there for more details. The first thing here, every Saturday, we have a couple of recurring events. The first one is the Radio Club of Tacoma has their open house. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. club members and their guests and visitors are all welcome. The other thing that happens Saturday evening is the Simplex net. This is in the Puget Sound area here. So at 8 p.m. every Saturday on 146.56 we do a Simplex net. It's really cool to be able to see who you can talk to with VHF without a repeater in between you. The magic of radio propagation. It's very eye-opening sometimes who you can hear and talk to can hear you without that repeater. So if you haven't joined, it's a lot of fun. Check that out Saturday night 8 p.m. 146.56. We do have a swap meet coming up here. The PSARA antique radio and vintage electronics swap meet will be held up at Shoreline Community College on Sunday, August 17th, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shortly after that we do have the Wooded Boat Festival coming to Port Townsend. That will be the weekend of September 5th through 7th. We also, let's see, coming up into October. Oh my gosh, I can't believe it's getting close to October already. We do have the Tour de Forest ARA Rally. We have a lot of folks in this group that participate in the rallies. They even participate in the radio communications of the event. Or just spectating and stuff. Always a good time there. Saturday, October 4th will be that Tour de Forest ARA Rally. Let me reset. Alright, we do have, let's see, the Cascadia Radio Group will be hosting a ham connect program. This is going to be on Sunday, October 5th at 3 p.m. It is a virtual event. If you have any questions or would like more information, you can email info at SeattleEmergencyHubs.org. You can also head right over to HamConnect.org for more information. And with that, I'm just going to go ahead and say again, if you missed anything, please head over to the PSRG discussion group over on Facebook. If you missed any of those websites or dates, that will have all the information. So let's turn it back to check-ins here. I am Brian, KE7, KZH. This is Nine O'clock Net. Let's see who else is out there. All stations, please come now. Call sign and first name. Madeline, KJ7, NUW. KJ7, NUW, Madeline. And then I did hear Mike, VU, right after that. Alright, more stations, please. KE9IQX, Amy. Alright, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. KE9IQX, Amy. KE9IQX, you're number three on this round. More stations, come ahead. KJ7, KJ7. Alright, Lagoon, sorry. Can you give me your call sign? I should have it memorized one more time. KELO, KELO7, FULU, Papa Juliet. There it is. I got the Papa Juliet. I was blanking on the beginning there. KK7ZPJ, I got you. And I also did hear KG7ODB. I'm writing it down. Dean, you're on the list. More stations for Nine O'clock Net, come ahead."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-17T21:52:41+00:00","id":18353,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":18352,"text":" All right, yes, I'm Brian. I'm running the nine o'clock net on the PSRG repeater in Seattle, Washington. Let's go ahead and see if we can build a new round of check-ins. You got that PTT and a license? Hit that PTT, give me a call sign and a first name. All stations, please come down. Madeline, KJ7NUW. Two stations there, KJ7NUW. And let's see, BYJ, I think I heard Lisa. Is that you Lisa? BYJ?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-06T21:57:11+00:00","id":14811,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14810,"text":" So I got W7JSM John and then I got KE7KZH Brian and then there was another station that I think was coming to the internet. Come back for me please. Yeah, this is KF0ULU Jeff from Missouri and yes I'm doing that. Okay, I got KF0ULU Jeff on the list too. Thank you for coming back there Jeff. I got you on the list and I will come back for your report in order here. So I want to head back up to the top because that is quite the healthy list again to Madeline KJ7 and UW33. Madeline will we get to see you at Green Lake this weekend? Hello Brooks and Megan and hello to The Net. I am going to be there this weekend. I'm super excited about the ice cream social and the general celebratory spirit that we're going to have. I'm super excited about that. And it was really exciting to hear a new ham join The Net tonight so I just want to say a big shout out and a welcome to the new ham. Well, I have been listening to The Net. It's been on in the background and I've been working on a little server that I have at my place. And it was really quite an adventure tonight because I got this server up and running. It's a Linux server. I got it running a few months back and I've updated it from time to time with whatever software updates blah blah blah. And then I took off on vacation and I was like oh I'm just going to turn that thing off. I'm not using it. Nobody was using it while I'm gone. So I turned it off while on vacation and I turned it back on. And I have this thing all super secure. The disk has encryption. It has encryption on boot. It has encryption on the disk. It's super encrypted Megan. And I loaded it up and I put in the password and it's like sorry that's not the right password. And I was like huh I thought that was the right password. And then I tried another password and another and another and I was like oh no I forgot the password was so secure I couldn't get in. And you know it only lets you do three attempts before it forces you to reboot the whole thing again. Well it took me about I don't know maybe 40, 50 attempts and I don't even know how many. Divide that by three for how many reboots. Too many. It was too many. And I finally finally figured it out. This is the problem with super secure servers. And you know the thing is there's nothing even on there that needs to be so secure. But I just you know I really liked the idea of having a super secure server. You know like any good ham lady operator out there I want to have a super secure server. So anyway I've learned my lesson and now I've written down the super secure password and I've hope that now I can put it on the wall next to the server. So good to go. Okay well I'm looking forward to seeing everybody this weekend and I'm enjoying the net. KJ7NUW back to net control. Well Madeline I'm glad to hear that you are going to be there this weekend. It will be so great to see you. And I'm glad to hear that you have been listening to the net because you have come up a couple times. So thanks for jumping in and adding to the conversation. And I have to laugh at your encrypted password. Oh that's so funny. And I love that you resorted to a sticky note next to it on the wall. Not even a note on your phone. That's awesome. I love that. Just make sure the sticky note doesn't lose it's sticky and then your sticky note falls and then you don't know where your password is again. So just I wouldn't know that from experience or anything Madeline. But just yeah. So we're looking forward to seeing you like I said and we will talk to you again soon and see you this weekend. Have a wonderful rest of your week Madeline. It is 947pm K9MLR Meghan. We had an I.O. from Jesse. KK7 BIN. Have a wonderful rest of your evening Jesse. And now we're going to go talk to Steven. Sorry I mispronounced your name earlier. 4G1NYS. How's it going in the Philippines Steven? Alright. Good afternoon from here in the Philippines and good evening Rebecca. This is 4G1NYS. My name is Steven from here in Batangas city. It is now 13 minutes away from 1 in the afternoon here. Just coming up and supporting the Puget Sound with Peter Nett. Actually I don't have anything more to add from all that you're talking about the ice cream. It has been the topic since yesterday. I'm anticipating the ice cream so that the two guys are going to be having. Enjoy the sweets and maybe a little bit for me. A little bit of my own dessert during our lunch break. 7 please. I'll send it back to you. 4G1NYS. Well thank you for coming by and saying hi Steven. That is always nice even if you don't have a lot to share it's still good to hear people's voices and yes go find yourself a delicious dessert. Bummer that you will miss our ice cream social but yes have one in the spirit with us over there in the Philippines. You take care and have a wonderful rest of your evening. Alright now we're going to talk to Elaine N3OMO 33. Elaine. Well hello Megan. Thank you very much. This is N3OMO. I hope the newlyweds, you and Brooks are doing well. Things are going well here although it's been very very hot. We've been up to like 100 and 102 degrees believe it or not. And it's definitely a heat warning and we've had spots of rain not all over the whole area but certain parts of the city. We've had rain. Mike Raub went to Walmart today. My brother. And he went to come out of the store and it was like a monsoon. He said it was really bad. He couldn't even get to his car. And he waited 20 minutes and the rain stopped and the sun came out just like that. And when we got back home here told him we didn't have any rain at all. And that happens a lot around here. One section of the city or town can be really having quite a storm and the other part of it nothing. So that's what happened today. I went and got my new pair of glasses today. My everyday ones are a new rose gold. They're really pretty. A little bit bigger than what I had before but you don't know because you haven't seen a picture. And my sunglasses are a public color. They look kind of cool too. So lots of approval. So that's a good thing. Anyway not much else is going on. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. And seventy three eighty eight to all all the numbers. Love you all. And to real women. Well thank you for those wishes. Veritlaine Brooks and I are doing well. We took on another house project. So we are in the middle of that and I'm laughing because it always seems like it's going to be a small project when we talk about it. And then as you know Elaine it never is a small project. So that's what we've been up to. You know just doing all our silly things that we like to take on. Bummer to hear that it's been so hot down there but glad to hear there is some spots getting some rain. Unfortunately it's monsoons but better than no rain at all. That's what I have to say because yeah it was pretty hot here and we had no rain and the fires were kicking up pretty good. So I know how important that rain is with the hot weather and I can't wait to see these new glasses and sunglasses on. These sound pretty stylish Elaine and they sound very you. So you might have to throw a picture up on your QRZ there so that we can all see that. You take care Elaine. Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday morning and we will talk to you again soon. Alright now we're going to go talk to John W7 JSM. How's it going John?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-23T09:52:53+00:00","id":22432,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":22431,"text":" Hey, good morning Jim, Kilo Echo 7, Victor, Mike, Tango, I've got you on the list. And you know that makes five stations, so let's go ahead and run it. Starting at the top with Madeline, KJ7, NUW, good morning."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-23T09:54:42+00:00","id":22434,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":22433,"text":" Well, good morning, Theresa and Dana, and hi to the net. It's Madeline, KJ7NUW. And we're having another kind of lazy weekend morning here. Turn on a little bit of music. Got my coffee going. I decided to do iced coffee today in honor of the hot weather, the heat advisory. I didn't know there was a rain or shine happening. I heard John's check-in. So, hi to everybody at the rain or shine. I'm assuming that's Lake Washington, maybe. Or I really dropped the ball, if there's a PSRG one. Because usually I hear about it. But anyway, I hope everybody has a really nice time and stays relatively cool today. So, yeah. Well, in terms of plans for the weekend, I might do another marshmallow roast tomorrow night. I've been doing a lot of those this summer, just inviting neighbors over. So, I might do that again. It's been working out. Last week I had 13 people come. Just like random neighbors, just stopping by and roasting a marshmallow and saying hi. So, anyway, it's kind of fun. I've met a lot of my neighbors that way. Makes the neighborhood feel like just more connected, you know. I think that's good. Those feelings are good these days. All right. Well, with that, I'll send it back to Net Control. I'm super grateful for you both. And thanks for hosting the Net. KJ7NUW. Back to Net Control."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-30T09:48:43+00:00","id":28180,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":28179,"text":" Well hi Theresa, and hi to the next. This is Madeline, page A7NGW, and well let's see what's going on in my life this weekend. Well, first off, I have plums coming out my ears right now. I have a plum tree in the front yard, and this year it just has so many plums on it, and I think that they're right at the perfect spot where I can can them. So one of my projects for today is going to be canning some plums, and they're actually really easy to can just like with the water bath method I've discovered. My favorite way to have them, and I just cut them in half, you know, jam them in there. I need to check my recipe again. I think I put a little lemon juice in there too. I'm trying to remember if I add any liquid or not. Anyway, super easy. My favorite way to have them is I will put them a little bit over top of homemade yogurt. It is so delicious. It is like, it's just like having a dessert, like a creamy, plummy, it is like so nice and so sweet. Anyway, so I've been having that for all basically over the last year. I'm going to do it again, and it's perfect because I'm down to my last jar of plums. In other news, my parents are on a very long road trip going across the U.S. in their EV, so that's been fun. I've been checking in with them, and they haven't had any problems at all finding charging along the way, which is pretty cool. I think they're in North Dakota right now, if I remember right. So anyway, yeah, just kind of following along their journey. A little bit jealous. I like road trips. So yeah. And then lastly, I think I'm going to do a little bit of mesh tactics as well today. I am working, well, Amy helped me work on making a couple of modifications to the solar node that I have to put a better antenna on there. And I'm getting a little adapter in the mail today from eBay. So I'll be putting that on and then moving around with that. So that's my three topics. I'm enjoying the net. Thanks so much for hosting, and the radio waves to all my ham friends out there. KI7CD, this is Carl. Okay Joan, we've got you on the list, KX2CW. And Carl, please come back with your call sign one more time. WK7CD, Whiskey, Alpha 7, Charlie, Delta. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. All star notes... Oh, okay Carl, Carl, we've got you on the list Whiskey, Alpha 7, Charlie, Delta. Kilo Juliet 7, November, uniform whiskey. I've got you on the list. OK, let's go to the top and hear from Kevin, first Kevin, K7, excuse me, N7 KB. Good morning. Good morning, Teresa. Thanks for having me. And thanks for running the net. I have a moving to grow list for everyone. It's a little harder to come by these days. You might have to get it on DVD. I haven't found it streaming anywhere. But the movie is called Othellas, or Kastner is the translation. But it's basically a fairy tale set in, I think, probably 19th century, mid 19th century. Basically, it's very, very, very far north, Norway or Finland. The movie is called Pathfinder. It's a fairy tale. Really, really cool. Done by a person named Nils Galp. Anyway, so that's my ad for the movie list. And I've just been working on that. I just started a new CWDox Morse code class. So I've been enjoying that. Got some homework to do. And I don't know, I think I'm going to stay around the house this weekend. I think the roads get a little crazy around this time of year. That's it. I'll pass it back to you, Teresa. So great to hear your voice. This is number seven, Kilo Victor."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-30T12:54:29+00:00","id":28295,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":28294,"text":" Hi there Kirk and hi to the next. I'm calling KJ7NUW. Oh I'm outside. I'm taking a little break. I've been harvesting plums off my plum tree in the front yard for I don't know maybe, I don't know, 45 minutes. That's what I guess. I think I got like, I don't know, two to three gallons so far of plums. I took a lot off this little tree I remember back in the day when this tree was just a wee stick in the ground and now it's a big tree all grown up producing all kinds of fruit I can't hardly keep up. But I do see my neighbors stopping by every once in a while. They walk here and they, you know, they enjoy a plum every once in a while. That's kind of nice. It brings joy to my heart. Anyway this afternoon I'm going to be canning these plums on the back porch. I've got a conduction cooktop, you know, portable thing and I'm going to run it off of my EcoFlow. You know, just for fun. Just to be off the grid, canning off the grid. Well anyway, enjoy the net in the background. I radio wave to everybody out there and yeah, enjoy the nice overcast and warm day here in Seattle. Back to you Kurt. KJ7NUW."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-01T10:23:36+00:00","id":29827,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":29826,"text":" I'll do it. I think it was two weekends ago and I really, really like plums a lot. So I was like, as you were talking about that, I was like, oh, I wonder what they're going to do with it. So jam sounds lovely. Plum jam is delicious. I actually just canned them. I halved them clean and half them and just canned them that way. My favorite way to eat them when they're canned is just on top of like plain yogurt. And it is like a dessert for me. It's one of my favorite things. I mean, I like any kind of fruit really with yogurt, but it is so good. And I get to basically have that anytime I want, like all year long. I just finished last year's plums like, I don't know, a month ago. Yeah, plums just grow so well around here, especially the Italian plum variety, which is what I've got in the front yard here. And I just love it. So, okay. Congratulations on passing the general and good luck on finding an HF antenna that works for you there. That's kind of fun. I like that stuff. When I first moved into this place, finding the right antenna and stuff like that was kind of fun to nerd out about and lots of people to help me and have opinions about it. But anyway, it was just a fun project and I hope you have a lot of fun doing that too. All right. Thanks so much for stopping by Mike. Great to hear from you. Okay. We're at 9.35 AM. This is the Saturday, September 13th, 9 AM net on the PSRG repeater in Seattle, Washington. I'm your net controller, Madeline, KJ7NUW, and I'm working my way midway through the second round. If you want to check in, I'll be calling for more stations in just a few minutes here. Up next is Jim K7PDZ and maybe Jane too. Over to you, Jim."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-15T04:23:41+00:00","id":38586,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":38585,"text":" James, you were really nerding out about the audio quality on the single side bend out there and I loved it. I really like good sound as well, which I find kind of interesting. Well, I always have, but it's kind of interesting because I have this constant hissing in my ears now as I've gotten into middle age. I'm hearing the hissing. Both of my grandparents on both sides of the family had the hissing in their ears, so I know it's going to get worse. But I still love, I can still tell when something is a really nice quality sound and it's not overly compressed and all of that. Anyway, I was just appreciating your nerding out there. And yeah, Nelson runs a really cool single side bend net and that happens on Friday nights at 8 p.m. Pacific locally here in the Puget Sound on 144.22 single side bend 2 meter. And I've tuned in a few times and it's a super friendly group of folks and it's a lot of fun. Nelson does a great job with that. So that's 8 p.m. on Friday nights, 144.22 single side bend. So yeah, thanks for bringing that up. And while we're at it, you also mentioned the Simplex net tonight, which I'll just throw that out there as well really quickly. That happens tonight here locally every Saturday night at 8 p.m. The frequency is 146.56 and if you're in the Puget Sound area, it's a lot of fun to check in. They've got a handful of people that cover that one and it's a lot of fun as well just to hear what you can hear. Thanks so much, James. I agree, it's beautiful weather out. Okay, I should do a quick ID here. So you're listening to the 9 a.m. net on the Puget Sound Repeater Group, Repeater here in Seattle, Washington. And we're transmitting from Capitol Hill right in Seattle. My name is Madeline. I'm your net controller today for our social net. And my call sign is KJ7NUW. We're working our way through this first list and we had some IOs while I was building the list. And the next checker in here is Tim, KI7ZEI. Over to you."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-21T21:20:38+00:00","id":44096,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":44095,"text":" Hi there Louie and hi to the net. It's Madeline KJ7NUW. Well, I'm enjoying the net Louie. It's nice to hear your voice. I haven't heard you hosting for a little while. So yeah, it's really nice to hear your voice. Thanks for doing the net tonight. Well, let's see. I had a nice weekend this weekend. I rented one of those Lime scooters with my girlfriend and we cruised around. We ended up stopping by and getting some brisket out of place. Had a beer at a different place. Stopped by the grocery store PCC and picked up some stuff. It was a really nice scooter evening out. So that was great. That was one of the highlights of the weekend. And also I joined a choir. A gospel choir. You know like the kind of gospel like in the movie Sister Act. And there's this choir in Seattle. Actually there's a few gospel choirs in Seattle I found out. But one of them is called Brilliant's Choir. And it's relatively new. And yeah, it's really lovely music. You know I'm not particularly religious. But the group is so welcoming and the music is so uplifting that I like it a lot. So I think I'm going to do it. We've got a concert in November. November the 8th. So I'm going to be learning some gospel songs between now and then which is fun. Lastly my parents had brought down a bunch of tomatoes from their garden. And so I roasted those tonight and made them into a sauce. So just got that put away in the fridge. That's it Louie. I'll send it back to you. KJ7NUW."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-14T12:32:35+00:00","id":38431,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":38430,"text":" Well, yeah, one of those themes we've been talking about this morning is physical fitness. Come up a couple of times and that's cool to hear that you do a little bit of weight training and take care of a hollow as well to stay physically active. I definitely want to up my physical activity. And it's something I haven't really paid a lot of attention to previously in life, just you know, kind of doing whatever, going on walks and stuff like that. But I want to make more of an effort. So I'm kind of getting inspired from these check-ins. And I agree with you. I agree with you about, obviously, about there being lots of wonderful people in the world and in this community too, this ham community. So I'm very grateful for the community. All right. I will just quickly identify. I am Madeline KJ7NUW, your social net controller for the 9 a.m. net here on the PSRG. We're at exactly 10 a.m. Pacific time. And we're working our way through a small list of stations that we're hearing from this morning. Okay. The next station that I have on the list is Victor Yankee One, Mike Golf Sierra. Sure. Just a kind of corny reminder. Just tell those that you care about that you love them before it's too late. Just that there's no regrets. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 11. Thank you very, very much for that reminder. Please feel free to check in if you like and tell us more about your story. I totally very much appreciate your having said that Paul. Let's go on with our list now. Paul, would you like me to call you up for a second on this list? No, I think I got my message. Thank you so very much. I like your name. I used to listen to you for two years. Oh yeah, Paul. Welcome aboard. I'm going to mark you down as an IO plus. Okay, we have Ann and Paul giving us some love. Who else is out there? Call sign a name please. Kilo Kilo 7, NQN, Victor and Sheldon. Kilo Kilo 7, November, Quebec, November. Okay, I got Kilo Kilo 7, November, Quebec, November. Can I have your first name please? That was Hunter. KK7, NQN. Thank you Hunter, I should have known that. And I got EXM there, Sean. Sean, you were doubling with Hunter there, so could I get your full call sign again, Sean? Yep, in fact I didn't know I was doubling. Kilo, Kilo 7, Echo, X-ray Mike, does that help? Thank you very much and thanks everyone so far on offering me your call signs in a way that my old ears... Too much punk rock in my days, my years ago. Let's get one more person on our list of conversation tonight and we'll move on to talking with each other, okay? Kilo, Kilo, Echo 6, Romeo, Alpha, X-ray, Peter, in Santa Cruz, I'll be an I-O. Thank you Peter, I hope everything is going well for you down there in Santa Cruz. Let's get one more person on here that maybe wants to talk. Okay, 7PPB here, who are you? Kilo, Juliet 7, November, Uniform, Whiskey, Madeline. Yay, one of my faves. Madeline, good to hear your voice. Now let's jump up to the top of our list and hear what's on Anne's mind tonight. Anne, welcome aboard. What do you got for us? Well, this is KA9EHV, Anne in Seattle. Good evening to Vanette. I played hooky from church today and made up for it by actually doing the formal evening prayer service, which I didn't quite set a back timing record to Vanette for. I once back timed that service to just exactly 15 seconds before the net started. And we were both, both my husband and I were quite impressed. It was a combination of long readings and a long actual prayer list, and the service just ran longer than I thought it would. And when I stopped it was like 30 seconds before net time. But tonight it was a nice civilized four minutes or so. So that was nice. And I got a lot of writing done today. I finally think I have actually plotted my darn first novel in this wretched six book epic that has been plaguing me. The, um, I hate, there's a thing at the beginning of a novel called an inciting event. It's the event that gets the whole story rolling. And I don't like, an example of a major response required in a sighting event would be something like a cancer diagnosis. I hate events like that. Hang on just a second. Let me reset."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-21T21:19:28+00:00","id":44095,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":44094,"text":" Oh, thank you very much Hunter. That was, uh, I could kind of feel your excitement in the project you were working on. I got to open up. I'm on the radio, yeah, I can do my, you know, my technician level UHF communications, but I am not a technical person. So you're actually speaking in a completely different language that I know many of the people listening to tonight will have understood. Kudos to you for knowing that language and being able to use it to, you know, satisfy your experimentation and curiosity. Yeah, we, like, there's a whole lot of flavors of how to do that in the world. And thank you very much Hunter for sharing all that with us. And, uh, yeah, now we had, uh, right after Hunter we had Ke6rax Peter with an I.O. And then KJ7NUW Madeline.
