That makes a healthy list. So let's go back to the top and chat with Amy KB9IQX33. Amy, how was your day? Well, 33 to you Megan. 73 to Brooks. Thank you for doing the net. 70 howdy! And 73 to everybody on the net. I'm doing pretty I'm doing pretty well even if you're a stickler for a very precise grammar. I'm here curbside. Which I realize this summer is something I have not done as much as previous summers. I have not just, you know, been curbside outside here in my shop, my garage, my driveway. Just ending the day and enjoying the net. And it feels nice. It's a nice summery thing to do. So I'm doing well. Let's see, I had a pretty fun day at work. I was not out in the field. I was actually doing data monkey work all the time. Which then I was like, ah! That's one reason I really love my job. Because some days I get to, you know, you know, put on the grubby work clothes, put on the high-vis vest, have my clipboard and hard hat. And you know, I get to drive around the city and I get to drill holes in the street and pound nails in. Which is cool. And nowadays I get to kick back in the air conditioning, wear masks with people, professionals, have meetings with people, do some desk work. The variety that I enjoy. I love you all. And then I was talking to KJ7NUW just before the net on a different repeater. And it was fun because she was at home and I was kind of roving around within a few block radius of the neighborhood. I checked out this part in the high-tension power line. And I was like, oh, I'm going to go home. I'm going to go home. And I checked out this part in the high-tension power line right away where it looks like some neighbors are getting together and building a little park area. And it was really cool. And then I walked over and I saw, like, I was peering into some of the houses that were for sale in the neighborhood. So I kind of felt like, you know, she was at ops, you know, monitoring field agents. And I was out in the field and, you know, maintaining radio communication, maintaining comms. I think this qualifies as comms with a Z. And, you know, reflecting back, making sure that I completed the mission. So I felt very engaging and like now that I'm listening to the net. I hope everybody had a great day. I hope everybody has a wonderful tomorrow. KB9 IQX. Well, Amy, that is super fun. Curbside at your home QTH. Yeah, that's always fun in the summertime. We always forget how fast summer goes and then we don't get around to all the things we had planned to do this summer, which is always such a bummer. But I guess there's always next summer? I don't know. It's almost like you have to plan it out before it even gets here and then it's here and gone and you're like, wait, but I didn't get to everything. I know what you mean there, Amy. It's hard to get to it all. But glad you got to hang out in the air conditioning today. Well, I guess you didn't really need the air conditioning, but it was nice to be out of the rain, I bet. So that's kind of fun. You get to be in the office and out in the field. That makes it kind of exciting and a little more interesting. It's never the same old, same old, which is always my favorite thing. That's so boring. Glad to hear you got to talk to Madeline, KJ7 and UW before the net. Hope she's doing well. Hopefully we'll get to see you at the ice cream social this weekend at Green Lake on Sunday. You take care, Amy. Have a great rest of your work week and hopefully we'll see you soon. All right, it is 907 p.m. I'm K9MLR Megan. Now we're going to go talk to Ann, K89, EHB33. To you, Ann. Good evening. To the rest of the team. Hey, what's going on? It's an interesting night. My husband had a more interesting time than I did. I'm having a harder time dealing with picnics these days. This one with its spotty seating and rather irregular seats. The layout was more exhausting than I really wanted to deal with. We walked back home and then my husband went back. I guess they're developing little emergency clusters around here and looking for ham radio operators. That's interesting. I don't know anything more about it than that. That was interesting last night. Today I worked on some stories and I'm getting ready to practice some harp and listen to a radio show that I sometimes like. Tomorrow I'll work on some more stuff and do more harp. On Friday I'll be back up at the gallery. That's about all that's happening in my life. I'm less than a week away from Worldcon now so I'm making a list of all the stuff I have to do to get ready for the next one. Including assembling a little actual military costume. I've got to work on that tomorrow. Anyway, that's about all the news at IS News. 73, 33, 88, oh the numbers. Thanks, Megan and Brooks for doing the net. Thank you all for listening. I love you all. This is KA90HB back to net."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-06T21:42:37+00:00","id":14808,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14807,"text":" We got Madeline, KJ7, and UW on the list. Yeah, my wife just said that she's, after listening to your check-in now, she's hungry. I love visiting Canada, and actually, my, two of my stepchildren just went up there for a concert, actually, in Vancouver a couple days ago. But yeah, the food's good. You know what I told her to bring back, and she forgot, I think, was Coffee Crisp, something we don't get down here, that they have it up there, so. I'm probably dating myself, but I believe, I could be wrong, but I believe I'd remember buying that in the United States many, many years ago, and being disappointed that you can't get it here anymore. Anyway, good stuff, Bill. Have a wonderful weekend, 73, and thanks for stopping by. Next on the list is Madeline, KJ7NUW. Good morning, Madeline. This is repeater station Q. Well, hi, Teresa and Dana. I think Dana's probably there, I don't know. I did tune in a little bit late. But anyway, hello, and hello to everybody on the net. Yeah, it's Madeline, KJ7NUW. I like Canada, too. I hadn't been there for a few years, you know? And went earlier this year and really enjoyed it. So I've been a couple of times. One time, my parents and I went up there just for brunch, really, and to go for a walk, and then I went up for an overnight as well earlier this year, and it's lovely. And I agree, lovely people and absolutely beautiful up there. I mean, it's beautiful here, too, but, you know, it's nice to get away for a weekend and see something new and all that. Well, today, this morning, I am in the process of starting a batch of mustard. I've checked in before and talked about how I really enjoy fermenting things. And so I have this year, and I guess part of last year, but anyway, recently, I've gotten into making some stone-ground mustard, and I do it by fermenting it in a jar. And it works the same way as like, you know, sauerkraut or kimchi or whatever. You know, the naturally occurring bacteria just like kind of, you know, softens it and gives it a really nice flavor and, you know, adds some seasoning to it. And it's a really yummy like kind of stone-ground mustard that I love to have with brisket for some reason. Mustard and brisket together has just like become one of my favorite things. So anyway, I'm getting the batch started today. I bought some at a, I bought some mustard seed at a store called Kalustyan's in Manhattan, New York City. And I'm looking forward to trying this particular mustard seed, so anyway. Okay, with that, I will send it back up to you. Thanks so much for hosting, and a radio wave to my friends out there. I look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow at the Ice Cream Social. KJ7 and UW Madeline back to net. Oh my goodness, you guys are making me hungry. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Dana's looking at me like, yeah, that's it. My mouth is watering, yeah, absolutely. Oh, good stuff, Madeline. You have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by this morning, and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Ice Cream Social. Okay, next on the list is Dean, KJ7 ODB. Good morning, Dean. Good morning, Teresa and Dana and everybody on the net. This is Dean, KJ7 ODB. Yeah, a couple of things. So, yeah, creating an all-star node from a Raspberry Pi. One of the ways you can do it, though, the way I did it with mine, is it's probably the most bare bones way to do it. It's literally a Raspberry Pi, it's a Raspberry Pi 3, with one that I just had laying around. And I've got this really cheap USB headset that I plug into it. It doesn't have a transceiver hat or anything like that, so it's literally just a Raspberry Pi with the USB headset. But I don't use it that much, and when I'm away on vacation, I'll check in just using a repeater phone on my iPhone. But I found that that's an option, is to just a Raspberry Pi with a cheap USB headset. It actually works. And anyway, other than that, yeah, I haven't been up to Canada since before the pandemic, and I should go up there because it is, you know, whether it's going to Vancouver or just going to some of the outdoor places up there. It's really nice. I have one of those Nexus cards, so I should take advantage of using it. In fact, I haven't used it since the last time I renewed it, so the next time, you know, I'd hate for them to say, well, you don't use this thing, so we're not gonna let you have it. Although one of the reasons I got it at the time, there was a period of time where getting the Nexus card was the cheapest way to get the TSA PreCheck. So it comes with TSA PreCheck and global entry and all that stuff. It was $50 for a while, but I think they've raised it to either like $100 or $120 because it's so popular. Anyway, I look forward to the ice cream social tomorrow. That should be a lot of fun. And so I hear John, KG7WOI, is going to be there. So it almost doesn't matter whether he checks in today on the net like he normally does at 10, 10, but well, I hope he does check in. And hi to everyone out there. Even to Keith in the Wrenton Highlands, who's another one of the stragglers at the end. KG7 ODD."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-09T21:26:32+00:00","id":15682,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15681,"text":" I know more about the game than you get up, so it's like an end for me to get out. And I'm honored to have Madeline, KJ7 and UW as my first check in tonight. Over to you, Madeline. Well hi, I mean, I can't believe it. I feel like I scored like the front row seats of like, I don't know, like a Pearl Jam concert, the first Pearl Jam concert in Seattle or something like that. It is such a huge honor to be number one on Your Rounding and I seriously was here. I was seriously here with my power to the maximum and my hand up with my finger on the PPE. I'm ready to go the second that you open it up. Anyway, well I'm very excited. I'm a huge fan, Dean. I'm a huge fan of yours and I'm so glad that you're hosting. Jack, I wanna acknowledge you as well. A huge success, a huge night to get Dean to host Annette. So I'm just so excited about that. I can hardly finish the rest of my check in. Okay, let me comment about my day so that I, you know, seem normal, like a normal check in. A highlight from the day to day was I went up on my neighbor's roof and I had convinced my neighbor to put a mesh-tastic node on his roof because he's got more elevation than me and a better view. Actually, when I was able to talk to Brooks on over mesh-tastic, it's because it went through my neighbor's node. Anyway, he gave me access to the roof and I upgraded the node firmware and that sort of stuff. So it's really cool and now I can remote administer it through the mesh, which is kind of a cool feature of mesh-tastic. Anyway, okay, so now that I have given a normal update, I'm saying I'm a huge fan of Dean. I'm so excited to be your number one fan and your round two here. Okay, I seriously am excited. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow. I'll send it back to KJ7 and UW. All right, Madeline, thanks again. And yeah, you mentioned Pearl Jam. It reminded me of many years ago, I went to see a free Pearl Jam concert at Magnuson Park in Seattle in 1992. And there was actually a Rain or Shine net there a while back. So anyway, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. And I also really look forward to seeing the next two people who are going to be checking in who are actually the guests of honor tomorrow. And we're gonna start with K9 BEC, over to you. Yeah. Well, good, you've been here, Dean and everyone on edge. I'm MDBG, once here at Newcastle Dean. So happy to hear, you know, the thing, this is exciting. We were just talking about this. Oh, here you are. You're gonna hit the phone. I just know it. But yes, I heard that you were on here, so of course we had to check in your round. No offense to Jack, we'll check in with Jack's round. Yeah, I'm really worried. Check in with Dean's round. Anyway, let's see, we had a busy day today. The pop ceiling is then removed from my office. And the ceiling is primered. And the gentleman we have doing the work is coming back in the morning. There's me in the rest of the room. So that's exciting. Looking forward to the Rain or Shine tomorrow. The lot of fun to go see all of our ham friends. You included. And then, we do the rest of the day. Oh yeah, I got a haircut. And then Megan helped me as a brother move. And I got some help as reinforcements. And so I went down there and helped get the rest of the truck unpacked, the rest of the merger up the elevator. So, yeah, there's a new apartment down there. It's off the Union area. Very cool, very cool spot that we got. So, excited about that. Excited for it. All right, so with that, I'm gonna say, great job there, Host and Dean. And I look forward to hearing much more of this. 7th everyone, good night, Dean."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-13T09:04:17+00:00","id":16680,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16679,"text":" Most of that... Come back for me please. Yeah, this is KF0ULU Jeff from Missouri and yes I'm doing that. Okay, I got KF0ULU Jeff on the list too. Thank you for coming back there Jeff. I got you on the list and I will come back for your report in order here. So I want to head back up to the top because that is quite the healthy list again to Madeline KJ7 and UW33. Madeline will we get to see you at Green Lake this weekend? Hello Brooks and Megan and hello to The Net. I am going to be there this weekend. I'm super excited about the ice cream social and the general celebratory spirit that we're going to have. I'm super excited about that. And it was really exciting to hear a new ham join The Net tonight so I just want to say a big shout out and a welcome to the new ham. Well, I have been listening to The Net. It's been on in the background and I've been working on a little server that I have at my place. And it was really quite an adventure tonight because I got this server up and running. It's a Linux server. I got it running a few months back and I've updated it from time to time with whatever software updates blah blah blah. And then I took off on vacation and I was like oh I'm just going to turn that thing off. I'm not using it. Nobody was using it while I'm gone. So I turned it off while on vacation and I turned it back on. And I have this thing all super secure. The disk has encryption. It has encryption on boot. It has encryption on the disk. It's super encrypted Megan. And I loaded it up and I put in the password and it's like sorry that's not the right password. And I was like huh I thought that was the right password. And then I tried another password and another and another and I was like oh no I forgot the password was so secure I couldn't get in. And you know it only lets you do three attempts before it forces you to reboot the whole thing again. Well it took me about I don't know maybe 40, 50 attempts and I don't even know how many. Divide that by three for how many reboots. Too many. It was too many. And I finally finally figured it out. This is the problem with super secure servers. And you know the thing is there's nothing even on there that needs to be so secure. But I just you know I really liked the idea of having a super secure server. You know like any good ham lady operator out there I want to have a super secure server. So anyway I've learned my lesson and now I've written down the super secure password and I've hope that now I can put it on the wall next to the server. So good to go. Okay well I'm looking forward to seeing everybody this weekend and I'm enjoying the net. KJ7NUW back to net control. Well Madeline I'm glad to hear that you are going to be there this weekend. It will be so great to see you. And I'm glad to hear that you have been listening to the net because you have come up a couple times. So thanks for jumping in and adding to the conversation. And I have to laugh at your encrypted password. Oh that's so funny. And I love that you resorted to a sticky note next to it on the wall. Not even a note on your phone. That's awesome. I love that. Just make sure the sticky note doesn't lose it's sticky and then your sticky note falls and then you don't know where your password is again. So just I wouldn't know that from experience or anything Madeline. But just yeah. So we're looking forward to seeing you like I said and we will talk to you again soon and see you this weekend. Have a wonderful rest of your week Madeline. It is 947pm K9MLR Meghan. We had an I.O. from Jesse. KK7 BIN. Have a wonderful rest of your evening Jesse. And now we're going to go talk to Steven. Sorry I mispronounced your name earlier. 4G1NYS. How's it going in the Philippines Steven? Alright. Good afternoon from here in the Philippines and good evening Rebecca. This is 4G1NYS. My name is Steven from here in Batangas city. It is now 13 minutes away from 1 in the afternoon here. Just coming up and supporting the Puget Sound with Peter Nett. Actually I don't have anything more to add from all that you're talking about the ice cream. It has been the topic since yesterday. I'm anticipating the ice cream so that the two guys are going to be having. Enjoy the sweets and maybe a little bit for me. A little bit of my own dessert during our lunch break. 7 please. I'll send it back to you. 4G1NYS. Well thank you for coming by and saying hi Steven. That is always nice even if you don't have a lot to share it's still good to hear people's voices and yes go find yourself a delicious dessert. Bummer that you will miss our ice cream social but yes have one in the spirit with us over there in the Philippines. You take care and have a wonderful rest of your evening. Alright now we're going to talk to Elaine N3OMO 33. Elaine. Well hello Megan. Thank you very much. This is N3OMO. I hope the newlyweds, you and Brooks are doing well. Things are going well here although it's been very very hot. We've been up to like 100 and 102 degrees believe it or not. And it's definitely a heat warning and we've had spots of rain not all over the whole area but certain parts of the city. We've had rain. Mike Raub went to Walmart today. My brother. And he went to come out of the store and it was like a monsoon. He said it was really bad. He couldn't even get to his car. And he waited 20 minutes and the rain stopped and the sun came out just like that. And when we got back home here told him we didn't have any rain at all. And that happens a lot around here. One section of the city or town can be really having quite a storm and the other part of it nothing. So that's what happened today. I went and got my new pair of glasses today. My everyday ones are a new rose gold. They're really pretty. A little bit bigger than what I had before but you don't know because you haven't seen a picture. And my sunglasses are a public color. They look kind of cool too. So lots of approval. So that's a good thing. Anyway not much else is going on. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. And seventy three eighty eight to all all the numbers. Love you all. And to real women. Well thank you for those wishes. Veritlaine Brooks and I are doing well. We took on another house project. So we are in the middle of that and I'm laughing because it always seems like it's going to be a small project when we talk about it. And then as you know Elaine it never is a small project. So that's what we've been up to. You know just doing all our silly things that we like to take on. Bummer to hear that it's been so hot down there but glad to hear there is some spots getting some rain. Unfortunately it's monsoons but better than no rain at all. That's what I have to say because yeah it was pretty hot here and we had no rain and the fires were kicking up pretty good. So I know how important that rain is with the hot weather and I can't wait to see these new glasses and sunglasses on. These sound pretty stylish Elaine and they sound very you. So you might have to throw a picture up on your QRZ there so that we can all see that. You take care Elaine. Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday morning and we will talk to you again soon. Alright now we're going to go talk to John W7 JSM. How's it going John?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-07T22:09:54+00:00","id":15111,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15110,"text":" It's Madeline KJ7NUW. Nice to hear you're not Rebecca. I'm just kind of like relaxing this evening, taking it kind of easy. And um, yeah I got back earlier this week from a trip to New York where I stayed with some friends and ate some good food and I got to see one of my favorite new musical artists named Jacob Collier. He's from the UK and he's got, like he kind of made a name for himself on YouTube like making, like YouTube, like he would perform like little musical things on YouTube. And the guy is just so cool. He plays tons of different instruments and composes his own music of course. And he's kind of, like his style is kind of like rooted in like jazz and funk but he plays all kinds of stuff. So anyway, it was really cool to see him in person. He performed on the Central Park, like the Central Park stage. I forget exactly what they call it but anyway, it's like a small venue in Central Park and it was just so cool, like we lucked out with great weather, you know. And anyways, it's just such a cool venue to see like a person that I really am enjoying listening to right now. Yeah, so now I'm back and just working, you know, back to everyday life. And I am going to go to the Ice Cream Social which I am super excited about and of course I'll be attending the board meeting as well and I think that's going to be my update for this evening. Thanks for hosting Rebecca and a radio wave too. My friends out there and that's about it. KJ7 and UW, back to net. I love New York City. What a nice time of year that you get to go to. It's probably all warm and beautiful. Yeah, it's great. I'm glad that you got a getaway and got to see some music. Got to go out to the park. That's awesome. I'm glad that you take those trips. I love you. Work hard, play hard. 33, Madeline, 88, all the numbers. Thank you so much for checking in. Yeah, and have fun at the board meeting. Alright, this is Rebecca KK7 IJZ. Next on the list is Justin. KK7, QES, what's going on Justin? Well hey Rebecca, this is Justin KK7 QES. 73, hope that you are well. I'm having a very quiet week compared at least to the last few weeks. Me and my family are very much enjoying that. My wife and I like to say sometimes that we just need time to putter around the house. Which I think basically means working on various small projects of relatively little importance. Some that just need done, some that make us happy. But no time pressure to do any of it. So that's what we've been kind of doing this week. It's been nice. So tonight I worked in the garden for a bit. That was cool. My bush beans, which I got so many green beans from my bush beans this year. I had never grown them before. And they were so delicious and it's like one of my girls favorite foods. So they were happy. But they are just starting to tire out. But my pole beans are just starting to come in. So kind of perfect timing. I would say I planned it that way but it's just kind of luck. Anyway, what else? I've had a weather station just mounted on a fence post in my yard for a couple of years. And I've been meaning to put that on a mast on my shed. So I finally did that tonight. And I wanted to get that done because I'm planning to put a solar mesh-tastic node on that same mast. I guess that kicks me into gear to get that one thing done. And then I've been listening to the net and while I'm doing that I've been putting together a new set of radial wires for this portable vertical antenna that I bring with us when we go camping and stuff like that. The radial system that came with it was kind of weird. It was made from a ribbon cable, like a computer ribbon cable. Like the ones that ID drives would be connected to and things like that. Used for all sorts of things really. But it's this giant ribbon of super tiny wires and you had to separate them individually. Each individual strand and then they would break and tangle and just turn into a rat's nest. It was kind of an interesting concept. It didn't work very well in practice. So I'm making a set that will stand up to my clumsy antenna deployment. Anyway, that's what I've got going on here. I hope you're well. I hope everyone is doing great out there. KK7, QES, back to net. Well that sounds great. Well I mean you didn't plan it this year but next year you will plan it. Now that you know about the beans. Beans, beans, beans. It reminds me of this poem I once heard. It goes like this. Beans, beans, they're good for your heart. The more you eat, the more you... Um... Ah! I forget the rest. Darn! Ah, oh well. Maybe someone will remind me. But yeah. Well, thank you so much for your report Justin. I'm glad that you and your wife are taking time to put her around the house. And yeah, House's Never Ending Project. Houses, people, kids, gardens, all of the things. The Never Ending Project. And good luck with the mast. Have a great weekend Justin. Thank you so much for checking in and giving me your report. Last on this list we had an I.O. from Cody, AG7LR. And that was the end of that list. So I am going to... Uh, yeah. Let's make another list. Call, sign, and name, RF and internet. 4, call for a N.E.S. Hey Steven, why don't you go ahead with your report. Back to you. Okay, thank you very much Rebecca. Thank you, Cammie. Please come ahead with your report. Well, good afternoon to you, Rebecca and Rebecca. I'm ready to go. And hanging out with the Mogwai and trying not to stress out about all of the other things that I need to get done. Our house is so messy right now and I just haven't had much time to do house cleaning. And when I do have a moment, all I want to do is sit down and relax. The last thing on my mind is housework, but at some point it'll get done, just not today. Thanks for hosting our webinar. We'll see you next time. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. And yeah, it's never ending. You have three fluffy dogs, so the hair is never ending. And you and Robert have a collection of collections. So, it doesn't matter, Cammie. Not if it matters. Not if it matters. Just in case you were wondering, none of it matters. And that's awesome. Yeah, Robert's getting through some jobs and getting his business off of the ground, which is amazing. I can't wait to hear that that is his primary, that he trusts himself enough to allow himself, his business, to be his primary source of income. I can't wait. I can't wait for that day. It's going to be awesome. It's going to be soon. Soon, soon, soon. I love it. But Cammie, just, you know, you work so much. You work so much, Cammie. Just do what you can do. Forever. It doesn't matter. Again, none of it matters. Thank you Cammie, and all the numbers, and yes, buckets and buckets and buckets and buckets of 88's. Alright, next on the list is Matt, KG7WUI. What's going on, Matt? Watch out now. Watch out. Not sure what that was about. Anyways, just wanted to pop in here and say hello. I think I got this thing hooked up right. It was giving me some trouble here a couple of minutes ago, and I just had an experience with an Uber driver that's got me a little flustered. But anyways, it's a lovely day in the undisclosed location that I am. But Anna should be on her way here soon. Hopefully, she's catching a flight to the unspecified location. If you pay attention on APRS, you may be able to catch it, but that's all I'll say for now, and that's all I really got. I've been in and out of the net because I was catching an Uber ride, so. Anyhow, nice to hear you all, and I'll throw it back to you, KG7WUI. Well, Matt, you two have fun at the ice cream social tomorrow. No, I don't know. I'm not hooked up to APRS. I'm just guessing. But, yeah. Well, Matt, sorry the Uber driver got you all flustered. I'm glad that you are safe and sound now, and has coming, and yeah, all of the things. Great to hear from you, Matt. Checking when you can. 73, and yeah. See you next time I see you. Alright. Let's see here. This is Rebecca KK7IJZ, and you're listening to the PSRJ new net. Let's go ahead and do last call. And I'm going to draw a line right there. Again, I'm Brian TE7KZH. And I'm going to be looking for Madeline, KJ7NUW, for the 9 o'clock net. How are you tonight, Madeline? Please give us your report. Hello, Brian. Hello to the net. What a nice day it was today. I mean, not only was it just really nice weather here in Seattle, and a perfect day to go to the park, but also it was so nice just to see everybody, and to be outside, and to celebrate Brooks and Megan, and to celebrate our community, really. So anyway, I loved it. The ice cream was yummy. And the time in the park was great. And I was so grateful to everybody who checked in this morning on the morning net, because I stood in for Jack and ran the 9 AM net while Jack was getting everything set up down the park. And it was just a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun to run the net this morning. So thanks, and a radio wave to everybody who checked in today for me. And a huge shout out to Jack too. Jack does a huge amount of work in organizing these things, and bringing the equipment. And yeah, I kind of feel like a lot of the energy of PSRG in these events kind of revolves around Jack. So a really big hat tip to him, and a huge debt of gratitude, I think, for me, because I super appreciate that we can do this together. OK, well, I think that's about it. Just kind of winding down for the evening. And yeah, just enjoying the afterglow and having a really nice weekend with you all. KJ7 and UW, back to you. Hey, good stuff there, Madeline. Glad you were able to make it to that Rainier Shine Neck and some ice cream. Celebrate Brooks and Megan. Very cool. And I have to plus one your sentiment towards Jack. KI7, RMU. I think people don't realize how much he does behind the scenes. Some of it's visible, and we see that he does a lot more behind the scenes that pulls this all together. Makes it seamless. It's perfect. So Jack, I bet you're out there listening. Tip of the hat to you. Thank you for all you do. So very cool. Thanks for sharing that, Madeline, and running that 9 AM net this morning. We'll catch you down the log here. All right, up next, Mike, how are you tonight? KJ7, Victor, Echo, UNIPAR. Please give us a report. Located in Shelton, Washington. Hi, Brian. You know, Jack knows more people than any of the ministers in any of the churches I've known. I mean, yeah, he's got quite a little social life going, hasn't he? So yeah, I've gone up around 11. I didn't do much of anything today. Kind of a wake up and, you know, smell the coffee kind of day. Welcome to the proud recluse walking down my wall. Katrina, I'll get you something to play with. Yeah, and the other side of the house has actually outdoor. There are black widows in the woodpile. They're real timid. You can't just pick up a piece of wood and just bang on it. They'll go walking into the darkness. They don't like being disturbed and light and things. So last night, I've been doing the kind of the inverted summer night shift thing, where you're up all night and you're asleep during the day too. Last night, between about 2 and 3.30, the tribal that has their village across the locks from me down at 35th and north side of the ship canal, we're doing some fussy drumming for hours and hours. Great. I mean, there's what, an hour and about three weeks past the powwows. They're doing farewell ceremonies and then homecomings when they get there probably, my guess. But yeah, they were doing responses from Daybreak Star. Very loud ones. A lot of people up there at the parade at the ceremony grounds. And then the rest of them were down by the locks at their village. It was back and forth, back and forth. It was really interesting to hear those ceremonial stuff. And yeah, I love having them around here. At least they've got sovereignty. And they've got relatives in Canada that they can't ever see, many of them. It's just Canada, they don't have sovereignty. So the CBSC gives them all that stuff. Trying to get across the border usually. And I know a trans person at my senior center who can't get a passport because in another country, her sex is not what it says in her certificate. That's kind of interesting. Factoid about that stuff. Oh well, you're an American for sure. QED is your V-E-U. Thanks, Brian. OK, very interesting. We had talked about the powwow that would be going on. We'd mentioned it on the net in the announcements a number of times. And I don't know if I've gotten any reports of that. So very interesting. Even at 2 around 3.30 AM, they were still going there doing some of the stuff there. So very, very cool. Well, thanks for sharing that for sure. And yeah, these hot nights, I'm sure it's probably easier. When it's so hot during the day, it's hard to get stuff done. You're up all night there. Well, good stuff there. Thanks for sharing that, Mike. You have a great night. We'll catch you down the log. All right, Amy, KB9, IQX. Did I say that right? How are you tonight, Amy? Please give us a report. Well, good evening, Brian. Thank you for doing the net. Good evening to everybody on the net. Yeah, you said that absolutely correctly. There is more than one way to do things. There's more than one way to say things. So really, anyway, you say it. It's correct. Anyway, I'm having a good evening. Right now, I am within eye shot. That's like ear shot, but visual. Within eye shot of the Statue of Liberty here on Alki. Just taking the scenic route, or the scenic route. Zibboleth, shibboleth, depending on how you say it. Taking that back home. Delivered some goods to somebody that needed some stuff out here, so good deal with that. Ran some errands. And yeah, it was really, I'm actually pretty tired. After today, I realized how much, like I didn't sit at all during the rain or shine. So I was on my feet talking to people. Didn't really hydrate enough. Didn't really hydrate enough yesterday when I was doing yard work. So I've got some makeup hydration to do. So I am actually on my way up to the Safeway, help that admiral. Going to get myself some fizzy water. Going to get a bag of ice. Make sure I've got provisions for that. And yeah, it was a really good day. Hanging out with people, seeing people, talking to people. Weirdly enough, I didn't actually talk much on the radio today. Oh no, I did check into Madeline's net in the morning, but that was at my house. And then I didn't check into the new net. But funny thing is today, Facebook reminded me that on this day in 2017, I discovered this wonderful geeky thing called SDR, software defined radio, of course. And I think that got me back into playing with radio stuff. And eventually, a couple of years later, that got me back into amateur radio. So today, I am celebrating International Radio Amy Day. And it was a good day. KB9IQX, I hope everybody has a good week. Hey, a little good stuff there. Happy SDR anniversary there. Since I moved, I don't know where my SDR is. I got to find that and start playing with it again. It could be a lot of fun. Hey, you mobile safe out there. Glad you were able to get to the rain or shine. And we will catch you down the log there. All right, moving right along here. Magoo, how are you doing tonight? Good evening everybody on the net. I'm doing pretty well. I'm running my Costco purchases back home. I needed to do Costco purchases and Kj7 and UW there also needed to go to Costco. So we had a Costco hangout and I am I am the quintessential errand friend You need to run an errand and you need company you call on me Anyway, so that was a lot of fun and then we hung out for a little bit And now let's see. Oh, I was actually down your way Well, I was in Tacoma on Sunday. I was helping a friend build a gazebo in their backyard And you know, it's funny because for a while there I was kind of hemming and hawing on their design because we were kind of making up a custom thing and You know if it's construction for me or you know automotive repair for me. I don't care it can be flipshod It can be it can be very questionable. I don't care. It's only me, you know, but I'm doing it for somebody else It's like oh, well, I don't want thing to fall down on them or to fail on them. So I'm a little more cautious So like the last couple of months when we've talked about this project whenever I went out to like sit out on patios, you know or restaurants then have That have covered patios gazebo like things I've been paying attention To how these things are constructed and put together And I realized the world is a frightening place People people do all kinds of weird stuff I felt better about my own, you know, weird construction You know if it's good enough for a place that you know carries liability like a restaurant And there looks like kind of like it's flip shot construction. Hey, it's good enough for me. So I felt better Anyway, the project was coming along pretty well It was cool because I got to take my Jeep down there and drive it so Anyway, it's been a good couple of days I'm finally feeling sore from the weekend of of construction, which is weird that there's like There's like that much of a delay. So I don't know if that means like I'm healthy or unhealthy but whatever I Took a good soak yesterday. So now today I feel better.
