I am a, I'm not against buying new computers. I am waiting until the right one comes along for me. And so I do like to reuse older stuff. I'm actually using an old iMac as my main computer. I'm used to, gosh, good here now. It's a 2015 all-in-one iMac. However, I run Linux on it, not Apple. So anyhow, I really do need to upgrade it, but even my server, which is another Apple product, it's a mini Mac like the one gray or dental has. Mine's probably a little bit older than theirs. Mine's an A3, and it also is running a Linux server, not Apple software. So they both work and go forever, but I need a little more juice. And so that's why I bought the server. You know, a couple of the ideas that I would like to do with it in the near future. But anyhow, I'm gonna switch to my Credge ketchup. I'll let you tell me what you're headed for, because this is far more interesting than mine. KJ5, I'll help you. This is repeater station kilo, kilo, set our island for section one about the starting note being hot when I first got home. Located in Washington. Rain, splattering of rain that we had here and there on Wednesday. And I don't think I said too much more than that. You know, just finishing up with the sour stuff. I brushed my teeth and got all dressed, and now I'm cleaning the back of my watch before I put it back on. And watch doesn't charge as fast or whatever when the back of the watch is dirty. But I've been looking, I've got these new rings out there, because they got the oral ring that, you know, does the sleep and the temperature and the, you know, the smart rings. But they're, you know, three, $400 a piece. But then I've been seeing these advertisements for this new one, and it's only $88. And I'm just like, how good is this ring gonna be? And you know, if you are gonna be able to do returns on it. But I like the $88 price tag better than I like the three and $400 price tag. But I'm not a big jewelry wearer. Like, I didn't even wear a watch until a few years ago when they came out with the smart watches, and I started wearing a watch again because of that, to help keep track of my health and stuff. So I just don't know if I wanna get into wearing a ring and I wear my wedding ring when I'm home, but when I'm out on the road working, I keep it safe in a bag and my desk over there. So that's it."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-25T06:09:42+00:00","id":9820,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":9819,"text":" I've watched episodes of it and I prefer to watch documentary episodes. I'll tell you a couple of things that I've been watching lately. There are a set of historical mock-u-mentaries, maybe? Historical mock-u-mentaries. They're older. I think it's been 13 years or more since they've been put out. But you can find them on T.V., probably on Pluto. They have them on T.V.C. so I don't know. You can probably find them almost anywhere at this point. But there's a group of them and basically they take these archaeologists and people and they send them back to town. And let them learn how to live life back then. There's three or four of them. The first one that I watched was called Wartime Forum. Forum. W-A-R-T-I-M-E-M-A-R-M. Sorry, I spelled it out because I say W's and R's funny. And there's a lot of them but that's three. Wartime Forum. There's also Tudor Forum. There's Edwardian Forum. The missing one. The missing one. There's another one called Green Acres or something like that. They help assassinate... This is repeater station Pilo. I'm sorry I spelled it out. I'm getting excited talking about what I'm watching. I don't typically watch a lot of T.V. But those were really fun. I've been putting them on at night and the farmers are sleeping with them so I'm not getting very far. It seems like every night I've got to go back and turn back on them. But yeah, it's really interesting. How did the English people and farms live during World War II? How did they live during the Tudor period or the Edwardian period? And the difference in machines and farming techniques and everything is truly fascinating. So I've been watching that in the evenings and I don't know if I've ever talked about banana ball with y'all. Banana ball is a form of baseball if you're not familiar with it. My wife and I absolutely love it. I don't watch much baseball games anymore but I've been dragged on and they're pretty boring for the most part. Banana ball is not. If you've ever heard of the Savannah bananas, they're kind of the ones I've started. Now there's five, six teams, maybe. Could be off on the team. You got the Savannah bananas, you got the firefighters, you got the visitors, you got the party animals, you got the Texas tailgaters, yeah there's a few of them. But they're mainly focused out of Savannah, Georgia. And they play baseball unlike your grandfather played. Now the game is there. It's very competitive. Their scores are real. They're playing real baseball. But they came out with jam songs or dances and their uniforms were kind of tricked out to show their personality. They're encouraged to do good plays. You might see somebody pop out a fly ball out into the field and after the fielders might do a back flip to catch it. I love playing. Really fascinating. Man, some great, great athletic ability out there. And they're funny. And they included the crowd. And not only that but the people who watch it on TV. It's become my new favorite sport, I think. It's called banana ball. You can find it on YouTube. It's free. Let me say that again. It's completely free. Right now. Hopefully you can see that. Anyhow, it's on YouTube. You can search up Savannah bananas or banana ball and you'll start finding the whole thing. Watch these videos. I'm sure it will make you laugh. It's a little brightness of joy in a dark, dark world. So, KJ5, I'll see you back to Rio 1 UKC."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T06:04:12+00:00","id":13986,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13985,"text":" The 01 UKZ, you have a smooth ride and an easy shot. In the meantime, we're going to go to the KN4LBF. J, what have you repaired or restored that you think you did a pretty good job on? It's over to you, D. This is KC2PKG. This is KN4LBF. This is D. It was something very simple, but I am proud of it. When my parents died, they had this Asian 3D face made of porcelain. It's about two feet long and one feet wide. And I'm looking at it. And through the years, it's about 75 years old right now, it looked like it needed a little uplift. So the figure on top hat is a female, and it had a crown on top of her head. And I repainted the crown gold and just her sleeve gold. And the retouch was amazing. It just made an amazing improvement how it looked. And I'm just looking at it right now. And I'm pretty proud of it. Back to you, Gray. This is KN4LBF. KN4LBF. This is KC2PKG. Porcelain. Have you repaired or restored porcelain? That sounds very hard. It really does. And the fact that you painted it and you're proud of it, that's great. That is great news. Josh, PJ5IRQ, what's something that you either repaired or restored that you're particularly proud of the job you did? This is KC2PKG. Open to you, Josh. PJ5IRQ. KC2PKG. This is KJ5 on cue. Something I would have had that I'm particularly proud of, oh, gosh, I remodeled a house before. That was pretty cool. I'd say I remodeled houses around here. And the houses are houses, I should especially clarify that. I've repaired a lot of things. KitchenAid. My wife loves the KitchenAid mixer. And all year after we bought our, I think it was our second one, it went out like the first one. I was getting really frustrated with it. So I did some digging around. And it's the brushings. I don't know why I didn't think about that with the first one. I fell a fool because I threw the first one away for like $20. I got to replace the brushings and kept the first one. I replaced the KitchenAid with some good brushings. And gosh, it's been years. And it's still working just fine. She uses it all the time. That was personally a good fix. KitchenAid mixes, you know the cream and galakop, at least that's what I was really concerned. There ain't no point in paying more money than that for something that does the same thing. Let's see. I do have a project coming up. As soon as it starts cooling off into the fall, rather I want to be outside all day every day. We have an old family bench. Joseph E. Ford built this bench. Not that y'all would know him, but he happened to be one of the first people in the Middle of Wales to open the store. And she's got to give you an idea how old this bench is. I have an actual picture of him in this last sitting on it. It is 1888. It's over the rock. It was my grandparents, of course. It got passed down to me. And it's an old, bad shape. I mean, it is a bad shape. But we're going to look into repairing it. I want to keep it as original as possible with as much wood as possible. So I may end up using clear epoxy or something to fill in some voids. But the idea is to bring it back to a shade of a swirly void. I can't tell you how many seeds of the fence people in my family have sat in that bench over the years. I mean, if some of them could tell a story, wouldn't you love to sit and have that word pour out the stories since, at least in my family since the late 1880s? Man, talk about an explosion of lighting ideas. Anyhow, yeah, so that's coming up. That bench, I'm really excited about it. The only thing I don't know is who gets it after me. I've got two boys and a daughter. And it's always stayed with somebody with a last name before it. So I'm sure it will stay with my boys. And I sure it won. And so I'm going to see who ends up at the house in a safe place for it. And that's probably who will get it. Sorry, I had to reset for a second. I was running out of time. Anyhow, that's it. I'll send it back to you, KJ5. I'll help you back to KG2PKG. KJ5 IRQ, this is KG2PKG. A bench, a family bench. That sounds cool. That sounds cool. I'd love to see a picture of that. KI7ODD, I see you in the text box. You want to give it a shot now? Tell us how your weekend was. Maybe tell us about something you restored or repaired that you're particularly proud of. Over to you, KI7ODD. This is KG2PKG. This is better now. This is KI7ODD. KI2KC2PKG. I actually am thinking, let me think. Oh, yeah. I restored stuff before that. My squeaky here is my fan. It just squeaks, squeaks, squeaks. So don't worry about that. I should have read this text thing. Ah, never again. All right, I hope my audio's better. I'm sorry about earlier. It was my rig. I need a new one. I need a new rig. Gosh darn it. All right. What I did yesterday was I was thinking about beading, playing with my, getting my crafting done. I did some sewing last weekend, but this weekend I am going to go on and be at the Idaho State Convention for ham radio this year, which is going to be awesome. I hope I get the 7800 icon. I hope I get it. Just hopefully I can get it this time. I don't, I don't. I can't, I couldn't even sleep last night. Sorry about that interference earlier. All right, have a good day guys and gals. Okay, this is KI 7 ODD, Murray in Spokane, Washington. KI 7 ODD, I'm Murray. That's pretty good. That's pretty good. That, your audio sounded fine. That time it was perfect going through there. So I've got you on the list. We'll be hitting you again. And Steve, N0BF, I've got you on the list too. We're just going to keep working down the way we're doing it. DA 4 HO. Ron, is there something that you repaired that you are particularly proud of? So what do you do? A4 HO, this is KC 2. Yeah, you know, you might remember me talking about, you know, when I redid the bathroom and the shower, I put caulking and you're supposed to put silicone on it, and I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I'm supposed to put silicone. And then I, you know, when it started leaking underneath, I had to get all of that out and redo it and put silicone in there. But that's really nice. You know, I got granite top on the, you know, the sink, new sink and toilet, completely new shower. And it's really nice. I did the water heater and the copper pipe I had left over, I made myself a UHF antenna that I use with my All Star Network. Whenever I'm on my mobile rig or HT and I'm on All Star, the signal goes through the antenna before you hear me on here if I was to do that. And I got one of those nano-VNA's to make sure, you know, it was resonant at the right frequency. That I needed it at. All kinds of things. The vehicle I drive now is new. The one before that, even though this was an upgrade, it had all of the features because I put in a lot of aftermarket stuff. The GPS I added and a whole mess of things. The side rails to step into it. Of that I do, but I didn't have to do that with this last vehicle I just bought. You know, because it came with it all. But I did install and put the automatic garage door opener in. And that I'm pretty proud of. It works really good. Now I just drive up to the house and I don't even go out the front door anymore when I take the car. You know, it's in and out through the garage. The door opens, pull the car in, door goes down, come in through the garage now. If I think about it, there's a lot of stuff. Except for the stuff, you know, I don't have the tools for it. I have to pay somebody to do it. AA4HO, Ron Nirma, Florida, back to you, Gray and Nick. AA4HO, this is KC2PKG. And it is all the something with the house. You know, I lived in a house in Morristown for 30 years. And I can't tell you how many weekends I spent either under the car or working on the house or cleaning up that yard. It was just endless, endless. I'm so glad to be out of that. Because I don't like any of that stuff. As it turns out, it's kind of fun to create things. It's kind of fun to repair places. But when you're doing it in all your free time, I built a car there. An Aztec 7 from FiberFab, which goes on a Volkswagen chassis. And that would best two years of my life. I'm never going to get back. I went to sleep, because it's fiberglass, I went to sleep crunchy every night. It was just terrible. My wife hated it. Alright, KN6UYZ. What have you repaired or restored that you're particularly proud of? Okay, John, this is KC2PKG. Over to you. KN6UYZ, thanks so much for having me as usual. Yeah, you know, in 1970 I bought a Corvette. And, you know, come around 1974 or 5, the car needed a great job. And so I decided to take care of it myself. And jacked up each tire individually at the house. And decided I'd grab a screwdriver and place it between the calipers and the rotors and pry the brakes apart so I could insert a new pad on all four wheels. Well, that worked great. Good job. Padded myself on the back. I took off in that car and next thing I know, I know, the brakes were pushing all the way to the floor. I had to have that car towed back to the dealership and it cost me $1500 in 1975 to have that brake job done properly. Apparently you're supposed to relieve the pressure in the system, in the brake fluid system because I didn't do that before pulling everything apart and losing the, and I blew the seals and all the pistons. And this is a dual caliper system. And it was very expensive. I don't know what $1500 in today's money might be, but it was a problem. So with the exception of not being proud about my brake job, yeah, that's one of my better jobs. Back in that K and 6 UYZ. K and 6 UYZ. Boy, that brought back memories. This is KC2, PKG. I used to always do my own brakes and all of that stuff. And what it leads to is you're driving down the highway two states away from your house and you're thinking to yourself, did I put that spring back in? In the left rear tire? Did I put that spring in? Those were my thoughts after working on my car almost every single time. I was like, I don't remember. And of course, the first brake takes three hours. And the second one takes two hours. Third one, you know, takes about an hour and a half and the fourth one is over so fast you can't remember if you put the spring in or not. It just gets better and better as you go around. Alright, AA-4HI. Chuck, what have you restored or repaired that you are particularly proud of? It's over to you Chuck, AA-4HI. This is KC2, PKG. This is repeater station key low. We had some heads up and some chairs and last night I had to figure that out. And it took a long time. A lot of winter to get on the fingers. It's just about all done. And I want to do it again now. I can understand why people charge so much to do it. You know, time and of course it's just too easy to work. But, um, you have to wear your guns, you know. It just takes a while to do things. Yeah, it is. Anything you're rushing through sometimes it's just not going to be the way you expected it. So, um, anyway, same with the old antennas I like to try out, to build. I mean, you just have to think about it, give it a shot. If not, repurpose it. But, uh, the chairs I think are the best thing where you're wrong. So, what I've done in handling them, they took a long time. They done, throughout the summer just working on them. You know, when she was out. So, uh, anyway, that would be it. Back on to you, AA4-HI. AA4-HI, this is KC2-PKG, Wicker work. That's weaving, weaving with Wicker. That is a big job, especially if you've never done it before. Because you have to figure out what the pattern is. And then kind of trace it back. And a lot of those things, as I remember, the Wicker is fastened with a wooden peg. You know, it goes in, you put the Wicker in the hole and then you pound it in a little piece of wood to hold it there. Yours may work differently, but the ones that I worked on, that's what you had to do. And you had to get that peg out first. Um, it's not specialized, but it is trying. It's very trying, I think. MM0RKN, Gary, when you repaired or restored, you think you did a pretty good job on. It's KC2-PKG over to MM0RKN. MM0RKN returning. Well, Gary, very frequently, I have to repair and restore Lego figures that have broken various Lego models. Cabs, trucks, DAF, radar, all sorts. So quite good at fixing those when they've been knocked over or accidentally dropped. So frequently, do not a bad job of getting them back together. But on another note, I really enjoy restoring Kenny Oak furniture. One thing that I did was an ottoman, many years ago, not enough. But it was one of these ottomans that would store, you know, bed sheets and that could be at the end of the bed. And it was very old, and it seemed better days, but I actually managed to sand it all down, repainted it all, then put a nice kind of fabric, soft cushion on top, and managed to turn that into a sort of storage box come window seat. So that was one of my things that I was quite pleased about in the past. But recently, not so much time really to do a lot of repairing and restoring. I was going to put it in front of my son's PC. He said that I had to play one of his games, and I couldn't get it fixed, so I basically had to do a complete refresh of his laptop. I think he's overloaded it with too many DLCs. So we're going to go back to the start again. So yeah, I'm repairing that. Hopefully I'll do a good job. MM0RK in. Back to you there, Gray in the net. MM0RK in. This is KC2PKG. That's what I used to do for a living. Put people's workstations back together. After they just put something dumb on it, or they had a problem of some kind or another, reallocating memory, and all of that stuff. I'm glad I don't do that anymore. I really am. Alright. Bill, N9OFU, what have you repaired or restored? Do you think you did a pretty good job on it? Over to you, Bill. N9OFU. This is KC2PKG. Alright, I've been trying to think, trying to think, trying to think. And most of the things I'm coming up with is just, you know, things I've put together, you know, like furniture, you know. I love Ikea. Some of that's been pretty intricate when you get into some of these. I'm trying to think. Like the, well the cabinets, I don't know if the cabinets, but the drawers and stuff. Getting all that lined up properly and put together when it's got, you know, two or three different sections, an open section. I'm trying to remember, I know I've done my repairs or in battle. It always seems like something needs to be fixed, put together, or repaired at the house. But nothing really stands out that I really floated over. It's just, you know, it needs to be fixed to fix it. And that's all I can think of at this time. Sorry, I'm just not coming up with anything. Alright, N9OSU. Not to worry about it. KC2, PKG. Bringing that Ikea stuff together, I found one of the neatest tricks was to take the Allen wrench that they give you and saw it off, saw the curved part off, the bend in it off, and then put it in a drill or a driver. And then things go much faster. I'm turning that little Allen wrench. Alright, KM4QBC. You do a lot of repair and restoration, Jeff. Council, what's one project, or two if you want, that you're particularly proud of, that you really think you did a great job? It's over to you. KM4QBC. This is KC2, PKG. KC2, PKG, KM4QBC. Well, great. One thing that came to mind, my wife and I both worked on this, like Josh was talking. My grandpa's old house was a really neat place for me to hang out. I had a CB radio in there. That's before I got into ham radio. Anyway, long story short, the old house was just a plank-mored house, you know, back in the mountains. And a big tree fell right through the middle of it, so we salvaged what we could out of it. And I got all the windows and doors. And my wife and I, I still got a bunch of windows that are the way of the house when I first got them, but we sanded these window panes down into the old six panes. They got six panes in them, and you know, the glazing and all that. So we redid those and repainted them, and we put pictures of our family in there and hung them on the wall. So we're really proud of those, and it's really a special thing. Plus our Volkswagens. My son and I are working on an old bug now, so pretty proud of that one. That's you, Gray. That's a couple. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7 November-November. I thought you were led with the Volkswagens. Is that the one you're working on now? Is it the black bug? Back to you just for a second here. KN4QBC. The black one was actually done by somebody else, but you know, a Volkswagen's clear there's always something in there to work on. So, excuse me, we have done a little work on the motor, done a little work on the interior. Used to touch it up to make it a little better than it was, you know. So the next thing I'm going to do is just a little more work on the motor. I'm thinking I'm going to put a new carburetor on there and probably a new Kilo. So, just to make it a little sharper, because I'm going to start driving it to work this time of year, when hopefully it starts to cool down. And next month or so, after August anyway, I'll be driving it to work in the day and in the night. Can't drive that thing in the summertime, it's just so hot. You can drive it in the evening some, but it's just so hot here in the summer. It's hard to drive in that time of year, but it's fun at certain times, but when it gets up at about night and you're in that thing, you're like being in a sauna, I guess. You can't wear the work clothes down the road and be all sweaty and going into work there. Anyway, back to you, KN4QBC. KN4QBC, Volkswagen repair guy. It's good. I think Volkswagens are really cool. And I could kick myself for when I finally ended up in a car that I didn't have a Volkswagen van. I mean, they're the coolest. They really are. And I think back on that time I was thinking, oh man, I went out of the hotel room. Wherever I went, you know, I didn't need to sleep inside, I could sleep in a car. Which is a fun thing when you're a kid to do. Maybe not so much now. Any of YQJ, Ralph, are you out there? We're asking people what is a project that they've worked on where they restored or repaired something and they're particularly proud of it. Ralph, hey, YQJ, over to you."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-05T04:55:23+00:00","id":14218,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14217,"text":" Okay. Okay. Well, this is KJ5YIQ. I'm waiting here for the kid to get out of work and doing some reading this morning. Are you really... I don't know how to ask this. Do you think our country is really leaning towards socialism? I mean, I'm reading more and more about Mandari, Mandani, how do you say his name, the socialist running for mayor. That's a bad thing. What's this kind of difference? I'm not sure what that was. Hey, yeah. He's running for mayor in New York City. He's a born and bred socialist. Very close to a communist, really, from looking at the policy. Elizabeth Warren was asked if this is what the Democratic, the future of the Democratic party should look like. And she said, you bet. We're not depraved. And then he's focused on affordability, working families, housing, childcare, healthcare. Yeah, but what an experiment. I mean, gosh. Is there anybody who's a socialist up here? You can explain the ideology behind it. I don't know. It's just a weird thing to be reading up in this day and age. Breaking socialism. Maybe become the leading political party and the biggest city in our country. I don't know. I thought I'd check things up this morning since that's what I'm reading about. Why is there always democratic socialism? Is it such a thing as republican socialism? I don't know. It's that up there. Anyhow, I don't know. Just making conversation. Well, this is KJ's biological wife, and, uh, yeah, you know, I've had time to digest this a little bit, I guess, and I'm gonna have more time throughout the day to digest and think about it. And, uh, as sucky as this is, and it is, but, I mean, she does a lot for everybody on the net. I mean, she takes me on the website, she builds up the net hosting degrees, she keeps up with the, uh, oh, the list of call plans for Russell a lot of the times. Uh, yeah, she'll be missed. But, I mean, let's face facts here. Some of y'all know each other very well. Y'all been talking on the radio ten, fifteen years. Maybe longer in some cases. But how well do you really know that other person, even if y'all been talking on the air that long? I mean, do you know if people are more beat up by certain topics, or do you not know that? See, I don't know that about any of y'all. Not a darn one of y'all. Um, I have made some friends on here, uh, and to be funny, uh, honest, uh, not to be funny, but to be honest, my last thrill with it, because I don't like people in general. I'm not a people person. Uh, I would much rather just talk with dogs and listen. That's actually why I got my hand radio licensed to listen, for the most part, if I have the legal ability to talk if I wanted to. Yeah, I stumbled across this net. Of all the nets in the world, as they say, I had to stumble across this one. You know, and I like it. No, I really do love it. I bet I had my deals already last in a year. I don't get a lot of the nets. I have checked into a few of the nets on Do Drop In a few times. Um, but I'm not your typical hand radio guy. I'm new. So I want everybody to understand where this is coming from. Hand radio's dying. It's dying. I can't get my friends interested in it. I have really cool technical friends that can do all sorts of amazing things. They're not interested in the radio. And the reason why they always tell me that is because it's old fashioned. It is. I mean, this net is not so much old fashioned. I like listening to the world wide friendship net and nothing against it at all. I enjoy listening to it. I don't check in. I don't care about just checking in and saying I'm on the net. My days gone like this. Bye. And getting off. I like to talk and end on a conversation. I'm going to take a real quick break since the 73s. And this is KJ, right off the huge hill. I listen to it. I do enjoy listening to it. I listen to the other ones on Do Drop In network. I don't take part of a lot of them, but I want to change that. So I say all that so we can learn from mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes. Every company, every person, every government, everything makes mistakes for humans. So with that being said, is this somebody waiting on me? Or is it going to have to wait a few minutes? I got some people waiting on me. Wait a minute or two. But that being said, we don't know if Gabby was looking for a reason to leave or not. I don't think she was at all. But we don't know that. Or at least I don't know that. Maybe she felt like she had too much responsibility and needed it laid out. I understand that. I know people who do that. I'm not saying that's the case. But we just don't know each other long enough to make that determination in my mind. So again, we've got to really find a way to freshen it up. We're down to three quarters of a million licensed operators in the United States. And I've read that maybe a third of them are active. I mean, a gene pool, if you will, is dwindling. And it's because we have things like cell phones and all these other really cool technological things. AI, I've been scouring every day for new AI things in ham radio because that's cutting edge. That makes it fresh. That makes it cool. Just like it was cool back in the 70s and early 80s to get on TV. So that's where a lot of people became ham radio operators is because of how old that cutting edge technology was. We have to move on. We have to go up in ham radio 2.0. There's some YouTube thing on that. But I've never really watched it. I just recognize the name so we can't use that. But that's kind of what I like about this net. It's not your granddaddy's ham radio rag chew net. So I hope I didn't step on any hills in that. I always endeavor not to do that. But my point is still pretty valid. We have to adapt. We have to freshen ourselves up. We have to be inclusive. Very inclusive because we want more people to join this. Perhaps changing the format of the California net a little bit may help the matter. I know that controversial topics that we talk about isn't always the most favorited thing in our community. Three days and three days come the matter that's a pretty easy day to say I know controversial topics on these days. We're gonna keep it low key. So we're more inclusive. I don't know. I don't know if that's gonna be a bad idea. I just popped in my brain. I don't think Monday, Wednesday or Friday because you have me, Dell and Dre. And I don't think that we would enjoy not being able to talk about some of the things that go on in the world for real and not hidden in the world of ham radio. That's a long transmission. I will talk to you all hopefully tomorrow. KJ5, I'll see you back the next show. I think Russell, I just had to take a second to put some ice on my toes. And we, you know, we kind of had it split up. You know, we had it was pretty much every other day. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays were more controversial than Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays were less controversial. And so it was kind of an every other day type thing there. But, you know, apparently there's such a way to get to the text box. It may not be over the year, but we came to the text box. There was always something going on. Well, we'll strive to do better and we'll keep our fingers crossed and wait for her to come back. Like Ray was saying, when she first got on the net, she was living in her caravan, her out on the border of California, Arizona, down there in that area. And all of a sudden she disappeared for a while. And then all of a sudden she came back and she had a place in Tennessee. So as her life changes and goes on, she might get the itch again and she'll come back, listen. She likes what she hears. She'll come back in and we'll do the better for her. And by the meantime, we'll carry on and fight, fight, fight. I had to throw that in there, Darryl. All right. And maybe Darryl is still listening. Seems how he's probably going to reconnect Michigan once we get down here. And we'll go from there. Of course, when he was complaining about people texting him in the middle of his transmission, I had to text him in the middle of his transmission just to rhythm. You know, because that cat, he needs his protein. And so it was a nice, it was a video of someone that had a burn inside the house and they were trying to get the bird to go out the window and he flipped something on the ground. All right, they're trying to get the bird to go out the open window over on the side. And just as they got the bird to go out, you could see a cat walking up in the background outside the window. And they were able to get the bird to exit the house via the window, but the cat was there and ready to catch the bird and the people that were inside that got the bird out felt really bad. Like, oh, great, we just saved this bird in order to be eaten by a cat. But, all right. So, yeah, just stay tuned. Worldwide Friendship Net coming on directly after this. Daryl will give you more info. He's up next. Daryl, you're up next. KV9NSK and 9OVU. Thank you, Russell, for doing the net. Back to you. Yep, you're up. We can find a conference. All right, thank you, Russell. And, yeah, just to elaborate, and I was paying more attention this last go around, we've lost people over the years, a lot of people, but we've had a lot of people join over the years. So it balances itself out, right? We get new people all the time, and we get people that are not happy with the net for one reason or another. It happens. In this particular case, Gabby will definitely be missed because I consider her a very good friend, and she's helped out a lot with the system, and that will definitely be missed as well. But there's obviously some reason, right? And if it's because of the actions of someone else out here, if there's been anything directed particularly in her direction, and I find out about that, I won't be too pleased. Let me tell you, if I hear anything myself directed toward anyone else out here that's intended to be rude or upsetting to that person, I won't deal with that very well. I'll deal with it quickly, but it won't be very pleasant. The thing that makes this net work is because you can say whatever you want. So restructuring and things like that, no, we're not going to do that. We're not going to do that at all because the reason people are drawn to this net, and I've heard it dozens and dozens and dozens of times over the years, the reason people like that is because it's not like any other net on the air, because you can talk about whatever you want, and that unfortunately upsets people sometimes. People hear things they don't like and whatever, but at the end of the day, I've heard things I don't like. People have called me an asshole over the years, and I say, yeah, you're right. When it comes to certain things, I definitely can be, but that's not going to hurt my feelings. You're not going to upset me. I know there's lots of people out here that don't like me, and there's a handful that I can't stand either, but they're not people that participate in this net. They're people that have got some serious problems, and we had to just distance ourselves from those problems or from those just narcissistic attitudes. Let me reset. So at the end of the day, it's sad. It's unfortunate. I hope she definitely gets back on the air because she's a very pleasant person and a very helpful person and just a good all-around person. But at the end of the day, we've lost people before, and the system does go on. Anybody who wants to join the group is more than welcome. Anyone who wants to leave the group is also more than welcome. So what it boils down to at the end of the day is choice. If you don't like what you hear, if the environment you're participating in doesn't bring you joy or happiness of some sort, then it's not worth participating in anyway. So not to downplay this net or any others, but if it's not the place for you, then it's not the place for you. We've said it over the years here numerous times. This net isn't for everyone. It is for anyone that does want to hang out, that does want to enjoy the company. And make new friends because we are a solid group. We've got group chats, we've got Discord. Most of us out here have all got each other's phone numbers. We chat offline or off-air about particular topics. We share memes and send photos and videos back and forth. We get to know each other for the most part on a friendship type level. But at the end of the day, let me reset again. At the end of the day, you don't know what anyone else is going through. Whether it's in their personal life, whether it's mentally, whether it's just you don't like a particular person or group. So everyone is free to make the choices that they make. And that of course is what contributes eventually to the type of person they are. I'm the type of person you can't really offend me. You can tell the dirtiest, nastiest, filthiest joke and it could be as racist as I'll get out. And if I find it funny, I'm going to laugh at it. And I don't care who thinks that I'm not a good person because I laugh at a joke about the Chinese or a joke about black people or a joke about gays or whatever. Because I laugh at that stuff, it doesn't make me a bad person. It doesn't make me racist or homophobic or any of that stuff. I mean comedy is comedy, right? At the end of the day, comedy is comedy. And I think people just need to be less sensitive. You know, some people just get really and they hold on to stuff and they're really upset about it or really upset by what someone said. And that's never a good thing because you're dwelling on that stuff and you just let it go, right? You'll be a lot happier if you just let it go. And I try not to dwell on things, but I got to tell you, I have been posting a lot of anti-Trump type stuff lately. I don't like the man. I think he's overstepped globally. When it comes to the global economy, he's hurting a lot of countries for no good reason. Trade was fine. Trade really was fine. And Trump is actually delusional. Let me reset one more time. I mean, the man criticizes bills and laws and things like that. And it turns out he blames it on Biden. But at the end of the day, the Biden economy, let's say that he's bitching about constantly. That wasn't the Biden economy. The last time Trump was in, he instituted economic policies that expire in 2025. So all the laws and financial things that were in place, they've been in place since Trump's previous presidency. He doesn't remember that he was the one who signed the original trade deal with Canada that he's all pissed off about now. That was unfair and this and that. Well, Trump, you signed that in your last presidency, but the man doesn't remember stuff. He doesn't have a good grasp on anything really mentally as far as I can see. I see a very, very dysfunctional president who basically turned the world on its ear under the guise of helping America, when in actuality, all he did was hurt America, hurt Canada, hurt the EU, and hurt everybody who does business relations with the United States. And he did it under threat. He did it under executive order. And he did it under force. So I don't like that. That's a dictator, in my opinion. If you've got to rule your country and take away democracy, that essentially executive orders took away democracy. They took away the ability for that thing, that instance, to be voted on. And he just said, no, the hell with the vote, the hell with the democracy. This is how it's going to be and I'm going to do it the way I'm going to do it. That's a dictator. We live in a democracy for a reason. Things are voted on. Things are considered by the government instead of just one person. And I think Trump is just so narcissistic that, I mean, he's sued any media outlet that's had anything negative to say about him. He's filed lawsuits. There's more lawsuits filed in this presidency, as far as I know, than any other that's ever been in history. I mean, it's crazy. The president of the United States is suing media organizations for doing nothing more than exercising their First Amendment rights. Not good, guys. Really not good. If Canada started doing that kind of stuff, we would literally oust a prime minister that was doing that kind of stuff very, very quickly. But for some reason, the American people allow this guy to stay in power and allow this guy to continue doing what he's doing and run reckless over the global economy. I don't get it. I don't get how a lot of Americans, and I know the majority, are against what he's doing. But it takes the rest of the people to realize and speak up against this madness. So that's just my take on the Trump stuff. And anybody that says, yeah, Trump lately is bothering me. When I see stories in the news, yeah, they bother me. They never used to because Canada wasn't involved. I always said before, outsider looking in, I don't have a horse in this race. Well, now I got a horse in this race, and that horse has to win because it's my country's economy that's under attack right now from Trump. And he says Canada is the worst country to deal with. Oh, we put in all these tariffs and all this kind of stuff. Trump, you started this, brother. Canada was perfectly fine. Let me reset one more time, guys. Canada was perfectly okay with when things go the way they were going. We weren't going to mess with the global economy whatsoever. But now we have to, you see? Because Trump has taken direct shots at my country. He's threatened to annex us. He's threatened to kill our economy. He's starting to make it so that Canada has no other choice but to come crawling to the United States. Trump has used terms like, I've gotten so much bullsh** last week, everybody's calling up to kiss my ass. Trust me, you orange goof. Nobody wants to kiss your ass. And he used that word. This is the American president. He used that word. And I was blown away because, trust me, nobody wants to kiss that old wrinkly clementine that you call an ass. They need to call you to try and rectify the damage that you've done. And that's the only reason you're getting any calls from any other countries about anything. Because people are sick of you messing with their economy internationally. And it's disgusting. Anyway guys, stick around for the worldwide friendship net after all that big spiel that I just had. Some of that stuff had to be said. And in regards to Gabby, she'll definitely be missed guys. There's no denying that. And we'll always be welcome back. So that's what it boils down to. And if the result of her leaving was because directly of something someone else said or she was pushed away by someone, I need to be made aware of that because that won't be tolerated. With that, I'm sure everybody have a great day. From here on the rocket, this is V01, UKZ."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T05:11:36+00:00","id":15725,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15724,"text":" I thought I'd make sure I got up early just in case you couldn't and there needed to be a filler. I know that Gray and Jordan are struggling to get some kind of, I guess, steady ping going on Sundays. Yeah, during Fridays. Fridays, you know, it's gonna be fun. I think I've substituted my Sunday net for the Friday net and I don't think a Friday then turning around during a Sunday would be that much fun for me. Yeah, so I spent most of the day yesterday really deep diving into reputable characters with AI. Of course, everything's done with prompting, but it isn't like I'm sitting here drawing out the character. In fact, I kind of gave Daryl some snippets of what it kind of takes to work on something like this. It was pretty in depth. I was really surprised in the level of complexity that's built into trying to make a repeatable character. You know, every AI engine, every time AI gets a prompt, it reasons it or decodes it, however you'd like to put it in your mind. So it can have a different result every time unless you're really, really careful about how you use the exact same base, is what I call it. So yeah, I started with just playing with the cartoon character and I used a henchman of mine. I have two henchmen if you don't know. I'm an animal person. I like little critters. So I got two henchmen. I got Fred and George, named after the brothers on Harry Potter, my wife's huge Harry Potter fan. So I took a few pictures of Fred and loaded them into AI and started developing a character. So that took a few hours to really flesh out the character. I probably did somewhere around 30 variations of just an image of dialing them and trying one style and not liking it, trying some color scheme and not liking it. I think I spent about 12 or 14 hours yesterday doing nothing but that. Of course it was 107 degrees in Texas and my wife and I had already decided we were doing nothing on Saturday. So it was just a day to be able to do that. I didn't hear back from you. I texted you the last video I sent you. I hope you took it in good sight. It was fun to make. So yeah, I can tell you more about it in my next story on KJ5. I'll get you back to bail in that control. Just real quick, as a reminder, that was the one with the joke. Is that correct? Yes, sir. The joke. By the way, my laptop, the joke was hilarious. It should have been even funnier after I made a video. Bye, Chief. Yep, not a joke for the open airways for sure. But that was a joke. I was going through reels and I heard that and I thought you'd get kicked out of that and send it to a few other people with a strong enough constitution that it wouldn't offend them. So yeah, that was funny. He kind of ended in a strange position at the end of the video there. And that was, it seemed like it had frozen on me. So it took me a couple of seconds just to realize that was how it ended. So if there were any criticisms, which there's not, that would be the only criticism is how it ended there. Because he started moving and then all of a sudden he froze. It would have been better if he had been standing up and ended with a clear picture of him. But yeah, that was cool. I had my call sign on there and everything. That was really nifty. Thank you. And with that, we're going to go back up to Canada to the E1WI and Peter. Good morning, Peter. Good to hear you out here. Hope everything's going good for you today. And why don't you tell us what you're doing. In my overview. Good morning, Bill. Morning, all. We're doing our eggs on the deck here. Very windy, which is nice. Nice and breathing. Good. And talking about my mom, she turned 74 today. It's her birthday today. So I'm not putting her in a home or anything. I live with her, right? So we kind of look after each other. So that's good. Yep, Kelsey turns 74 today. So we're going to go for dinner tonight. I bought her a red bouquet of flowers yesterday. And I bought her a card. And I bought her a lemon meringue pie yesterday. She loves lemon meringue pie. And I love lemon meringue pie. So I picked one up yesterday when I was little. So other than that, there's not too much going on. Just sitting on the deck here watching the, you know, just chilling. So back over to neck control. Good evening, Peter. And yeah, I mean, that's between you and Darryl. I mean, you both live right next to your parents. And you're able to, you know, be able to get a phone call or a text, you know, or a shout in your case. You're right there. You can help out. You can do this. You can do that. And, you know, be helpful and, you know, kind of take care of them. And if they're fall, you're right there. You can get there much quicker than an ambulance or someone who lives in another household around the block. And that's great. I mean, that's ideally that'd be a good situation. And I would love to be able to do that. But, you know, you know my job. You know, I'm lucky to get home, you know, once every three weeks. Sometimes it's four weeks. And we live about 58 miles from where my mom lives. So it's a little bit harder for us to do that. But she's got a lot of friends. And she's got her church group right there in Casa Grande. And if she moved in, if she came over here and moved in with us, I think that would be hard for her. And if she moved into my brother's place, I think that would really be hard. And I had to tell my brother last night that, you know, because he kept on pushing on the subject. And I kept telling him, you know, I'm going to go talk to her today. And, you know, we're going to, you know, I'm going to see how things are and talk to some other people. And it's not, you know, like she hasn't really been able to take care of herself. I put told this accident here. She has had to have someone come in to do physical therapy with her. But, you know, this is how she likes to live as far as I know. She doesn't say anything to the contrary. And I've asked her a couple times, but, you know, she likes the solitude. For the most part, she likes the peace and quiet and to hunt around. You know, when she gets to a point where she needs to have, you know, a full-time care, then we're thinking of something about my wife and I were thinking something more in love of assisted living where she could have her own apartment, you know, sort of what, I can't remember her name now, Missy. I kind of like what Missy's doing. You know, she's got her own apartment, but they make meals. And she has the people, the rest of the people in the community there. And she has help if she needs it. But with that, I will pass it over. Whoops, let me grab one. Almost timed that right. We got KN4LBF, Dee, and Dee will be in Met Control next Saturday, helping out Kevin Campbell and X. So looking forward to that, Dee. Sorry for mixing up the dates there, but I'm glad you're out here today. How are you doing this morning? This is KN4LBF. This is Dee. Hi, good morning, everyone. Like always, I woke up this morning and gave gratitude that I was about to wake up. I always have to say that. And, you know, I'm looking forward, excited, excited, yay! Everybody probably boos me. I'm going to see the messages, boo! No. Anyway, you know, I was listening to George about what he said about Sundays. I think that's a great idea. Everybody's sending him messages and stuff that he can coordinate the Sundays only, I guess is what he's talking about. I think having coordination for a day is really good. So the only thing I would suggest is at least once a week make a comment on the net and let everybody know that you're doing the schedule for Sundays and coordinate it so everybody knows and you can send emails out to everyone knowing monthly or whatever and they'll call you if they have to take out or whatever. But I think that's great, having someone coordinate that. I don't have much to do except I have a rodent in my attic and I can hear it and it's driving me crazy. Today is Sunday, you know how that goes, so I'm going to have someone go up there anyway. But I'm assuming it's a squirrel because that's all we have. We don't really have raccoons or other things that could get up there. At least I don't think so. I don't think we have any mice or anything. I think it's a squirrel that got in. And I've been telling my husband, you know, at least once a year we have to check the vents. And you know, husbands sometimes ignore their wives and I've been telling him we need to send him. So here we are. It woke me up this morning and was like, oh gosh, there's a rodent up there. Anyway, this is K&4 LBM, back to the net. No, no, no, no, we don't ignore our wives. We just have selective hearing. We hear what we want to hear and we don't hear what we don't want to hear. Yeah, yeah, it's a bad habit but I think it goes both ways. But more so on the husband's side because they get asked more questions. Or have to reply to more stuff. We're quiet folk. But sorry to hear about the rodents. Our house is fairly closed off in the attic so we're hoping that it will be a while. And we don't get a lot of mice in this desert area. And we've been luckily we haven't had the scorpions. We've had crickets, that's for sure, we've had crickets get into the house. And we're trying to think, flies, we get some flies in here. Maybe a mosquito every now and then. But living in the desert, not a lot. And we've been lucky we haven't had snakes. But we haven't had ants. We haven't had any in the house. But we've had some manhounds on the back. And we've got a pest guy that comes out and sprays on a regular basis. So luckily we've avoided most of those. And they're not the big black scorpions. They're kind of sand colored or almost transparent. But a couple houses down from us had a problem. And when we first moved in. But luckily we haven't seen any here. But thank you, Dee. And yep, looking forward to it. Don't sell yourself short. I'm sure you'll do fine. Everybody says they think you'd be great. And I am one of those people. So we'll catch you out here on Saturday. And now we have ZS6ZYM. John, are you listening to your wife? Dee would like to know. And I know if you're over to here, John."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-13T04:27:29+00:00","id":16582,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16581,"text":" UKZ KJ5 I'll shoot you coming in 5 by 9. Good morning everybody, it's a little late for me getting in this morning, but it is what it is. Oh, it's a wonderful Tuesday morning here in Texas. I looked into almost all of it yesterday and it sounded good, but I didn't get to pay attention to a lot of it, you know, how it is whenever you're in the doctor's office and sitting there trying to remember everything to tell the doctor about what he's going to ask you anyhow. I don't know if I'm in good shape or bad shape, you know, I'm hopeful about a week or so, because he decided to take all of the tests, which is fine for me. So yeah, like Dale was saying, the Foul Bunkin' Net is the net for everybody. From what I've learned on being on this net, yeah, we don't want to hurt your feelings, but we want the right to express what we're thinking and what we want to say. As long as it doesn't break the FCC rules, that's what Dale and Dale and the gang here has developed. They purposely developed a network like this, that way we're not subjugated to made up wannabe rules like not being able to talk about the pulse or religion or something else controversial. So that's really the coolest thing about this net. And Dale's right, unless I've missed it, I don't know of another network that allows stuff like that. That's primarily the reason why I don't get on other nets, to be honest. Now that I've been doing this for close to a year, I just don't have any inclination to join a net just to check in and say hi and bye and then leave. That's a waste of my time. Now if it's in because I'm doing emergency training or something along those lines, then great, I can see a purpose behind it. But that's not how a lot of, well, they're not even like you, that's not how a lot of nets are. They're like, hey, we want to get the numbers of people. Let's try to get 100 people checked in today. Yeah, I'm not interested in all that. You give me a smaller group, smarter brains, more viewpoints, that's the way I like it. Anyhow, yeah, the MS Now, I don't listen to them, I haven't listened to them and I don't know how long and I don't plan to. They are actually one of the worst mainstream media organizations that I've ever heard of. And not just because they're one sided, they just have crappy reporting. Their journalism in my opinion just sucks. All the stories or half an inch deep, you can tell I don't like MS NBC. I liked them in 15, 20 years I guess. Alright, well there's my 30 minute warm up. I just thought I'd say good morning to all of you, Russell. You're doing a great job this morning. And I am here for the duration. So, here we go, KJ5, I'll see you back in the next show."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-12T05:07:01+00:00","id":16327,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16326,"text":" Go to AA-4-8-O-D to get back to sea. So far, I've been watching the models, and it's, uh, let's see, around Costa Rica, it's forecasted. It's ahead north out into the Atlantic, I hope so. But it's still really early, and it's probably going to take, like, uh, you know, five, six days before it reaches Costa Rica, because it's so far out there. What is so, uh, just concerning is the fact that it's intensifying so rapidly. I mean, when it, um, hit the ocean off the coast of Africa, it was already, like, a high percentage of, uh, uh, likely, a likely high percentage that it was going to develop, which is kind of unusual. So, this may be, you know, a very powerful storm that will develop, and, of course, this is around the time they usually do that. I, I, I'm thinking, you know, I got, uh, uh, let's see, uh, 15 hours. Now, this is repeater station kilo keel seven. Uh, that's gasoline, and, uh, that much more, but I'll wait until it gets a little closer before I worry about that. And, and I wanted to get that 300 amp hour battery, uh, lithium ion also, and that would give me about four hours. Maybe, you know, depending on current trade, but I figured, you know, they're, uh, kind of expensive. But, uh, I've been without electricity for as long as two weeks one time in this area. That's a long time, and, you know, uh, even 60 hours of, uh, backup power, uh, isn't enough. You know, considering, you know, two weeks, you know, you run out, and, uh, there's no gasoline left, because everybody took it. And, and the pumps are out, you know, out. All right, all right, back to the question. Uh, let's see, I, uh, I started thinking about, you know, phonograph records, and I had them, you know, when I was really young back in Brooklyn. It was our Jackson's album that was taught for me, because we had a record player, uh, back then, there. It was part of, uh, an entertainment system. Uh, you know, television, and, and radio, and, and, and had a drawer, and you could pull it out, and the record player was there. We had, uh, Mitch Miller album. And, and there were, you know, a few other things. But one thing that, uh, was really remarkable, uh, that I could, uh, talk about right now is, uh, there used to be, back in 1947, a, uh, booth. Like, a picture booth that you would walk in, and you'd put your money in, and it would take pictures of you. You know, you'd pull the curtain. Well, they had actually a, uh, voiceover graph that you could, uh, make a record. You know, you would pay your money, and then you would have time, and then you could send, you know, music or messages to somebody on a record. Uh, they don't have them anymore. Uh, and, uh, they were actually before I was born, but the reason why I know about it is because we had one of those records that, uh, someone, you know, produced in these little booth studios. Uh, it, it must have been, you know, pre-1950. Uh, I never saw one, because I had been to Coney Island at the only kind of booths they had back then with a picture one. I never saw one, so I'm, I'm pretty sure that record was named in one of those studio booths. Voiceover graphs before I was born. AA4HO, right here, I'll provide it back to Russ, my name is Joe. And then I go to 28 B-K-A-Y-E-S-S-E. Beep. When I left that record pool from, uh, York University Radio, I still stayed on the list, right? They have this final, uh, alert list, and there's a request and demand section. I'm willing to pack, since they're usually able to honor it, because I've written things and gotten things, but they also have a pressing machine in the basement. And it's over here to press wax now, right? You can just press an MP3 copy. You don't need to, it doesn't come off of, like, two track reels like it used to. So it's a lot easier, and they can just find what you want and put it on wax. So I always figure that's what this outfit does, and I still stay on the list, but I'm no longer the customer, let's say. So there you go. Oh, yeah, earlier I was gonna tell you, so Sunday, I went to Popeyes, right, because I was far in the Danforth, taking care of some things, and it was en route. I'm so disappointed, they no longer have a lot of the sides. There's no more dirty rice, there's no more rice and beans. They jus down the portions on the macaroni, and a few other things. So I'm just wondering if they did the same thing in the States. Usually you guys have better things in those kind of places, right? Like your McDonald's has a lot more things, your KFC has a lot more things. So I mean, are they doing the same thing with Popeyes? I can't call it, because where I live, no business seems to exist for a while. If you're an eating establishment, somebody's eating you, because, or you could say what's eating you. Well, many eat business, because they never stay open. Ain't nobody going out to eat. So, but anyways, I just wonder, I was so disappointed. It's like I'm not wanting to go there now, yo. Because I wanted to get a bunch of sides for later on, like, you know, I could get a couple of those rice thingies, and that's like a big meal for me. But no sense, no such luck. And when I went there to get my food, I didn't even, because there was no line up, it was like I was the only customer at 2733 Pann Fork Avenue. It's not even like a residential street, it's busy as hell. Cars everywhere, but they weren't going into there. Just saying. So, just wondering if they downgraded JAL's places, because they certainly have here in Toronto. Okay, I'll pass it back, I'm still here. I should be for, well I don't know, I'm just still here. So back to that from VA3KJ1. And then I go to KJ5, high on the fifth, and then you get back to B. KJ5, how are you? Uh, Russell, I apologize, I thought you said records earlier, but you said records. Um, I don't own any records, no, my wife owns a few. Um, mostly goalie records. You know, Taylor Swift crap, and the Rigid soundtrack crap. Although, I do have an original 45 of Liddon Skinner's Free Bird. That one's mine. That's all the records we got. Alright, that's all I got, so I'll be back to you. KJ5, oh, oh, oh, hang on. Popeyes. Cameron, I don't know what kind of Popeyes you got up there, but you all need to rename that sucker. Because it ain't Popeyes no more, it ain't got no red beans and rice, none of the uh, cajun fries, and I don't know. We have a Popeyes, I mean, Popeyes is all over Texas, you know, cajun Louisiana fruit cream from next door. We have one in town, I was a lot impressed by it. I don't get me wrong, I loved it. Popeyes chicken sandwich. It worked a year or so. I used to like it a lot more, I probably won't even hear it again once a year these days. Uh, the only thing I really like from next day is my like, like, like, loss from there these days is the red beans and rice and the popcorn shrimp. Hope that helps. KJ5, I'll be back to you next show."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-24T06:20:42+00:00","id":23266,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":23265,"text":" November 9th, overview, KG5, I know a few. Thanks, man. Appreciate the call out this morning. Yeah, I actually got that video. I was real quick, I was like, oh, I can find a little video, do it in chat, too, because I know I looked at a few. And that one popped up, and I remember watching it. I thought, hey, that was helpful. I don't personally have a Sherry. I just have a Raspberry Pi set up as a node. I have my devices that I plan on hooking up to radio ordered, so those should be in soon. But, yeah, I have set up the new ASL3 multiple times. I'm actually pretty fluent in it now, with the new asterisk, updating everything they did on it. So I don't mind helping people with setting up a Raspberry Pi for it if they're using the ASL3 program. If they're using HamVoy or something else, I'm not so familiar with it. Oh, let's see, I am getting cleaned up. It's a Sunday, so I thought I'd spend the day, or at least the morning, making myself look legitimate. I have a head shop that I need to send to Dre and Hal, and I've been putting that off because, well, I'm lazy, and I don't like pictures. But I will give him one at some point today, is my goal. Oh, that's it, man. I don't have any plans today. I'm going to clean up my body, make sure I look presentable for the work week. That's it. I can't make everything else. I wish it was raining here. It did rain a little bit the other day, but we still got another six, well, probably six weeks or so before us. I'm really exhausted in here. However, they said we have an unusually strong cold front blowing in next week. Tuesday, supposed to be like 88 degrees here. I am really thinking about taking Tuesday and Wednesday off of work just so I can enjoy the cooler temperatures. What do you think, KJ5? Thank you V01UTD, I appreciate the call out. You said earlier something about trading me out of vehicle for a self driving vehicle. I'm conflicted. I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado. I'm sitting at about 140, 141,000 miles. It's pretty low miles for the year that she is. I don't know if I want to trade for this. I've actually been talking about this for the last year and a half with my wife. I don't know if I want to trade in my truck or not. I mean on one hand the truck has paid off. It's having some little quirks after almost 25 years of being around. But nothing that I can't live without. On the other hand, if I did trade it in for a self driving mobile, I would have to choose what kind. Is it another truck? Is it a car? To be completely honest, I would rather retain the driving ability for the little local vehicle, you know, truck, car, what not. Now if I had a daily commuter that I had to drive an hour away or so, I think I would be just fine with a self automated car. That gives me an extra hour of work time. It really would. That's why I work remote. I live almost an hour away from my office. I drove that trip every day for three plus years. In fact, SA averages out to an hour a day, an hour a trip. It really doesn't. I guess maybe it does. But it takes me about 40 to 45 minutes to get to work. Takes me an hour and a half to get home. Same route. That's just the difference in traffic, right? So I would probably be okay with that. But to be completely honest, what I would desire more than a self driving car or a truck is a self driving motor home. And I was thinking about Gray when that popped in my head. He's leaving out, you know, say around today, around noonish or so, and he said it's a three and a half to four hour drive back to his home. He made a five hour drive yesterday. I used to make six, six and a half hour drives a lot from my house up to the panhandle of Texas for my old job. Six to six and a half hours, no matter what. So I'm used to that stretch of time. And yes, if I had a motor home where I could go to the restroom or get something to eat or whatever. You know, I mean, people do it all day every day. They travel in motor homes, the family's in the back chilling out while dad or pops or whatever you call the person driving the vehicle, you know, while he's doing all the hard work. Well, I think it would be great if it was automated. I mean, to be completely honest, if I had an automated motor home, I may not even own a house. I don't know. Alright, now we're getting a little forefetched. With that, I'm sending it back to you, KJ5. KJ5, I'll see you returning. We just got done. My nextie spent the night last night. So we just got done running him home so he could get ready for school and pick up Grandboy. We decided we'd pick him up today and get him ready for school. You know, we didn't even realize the other day was Grandparents Day. Missed that one. Didn't know there was such a thing. Is it like Father's Day where everybody brings you stuff? That didn't happen. Anyhow, the Jenkins are 4 and 2 so I'm not holding them to it. I am a little surprised that some of you all haven't heard of Charlie Kirk. He's real big on the right side. If you only listen to MSNBC or CNN and stuff, you probably wouldn't have heard of him. Because the reason why I knew him is because of my kids. I'll be honest. I didn't know who Charlie Kirk was before the election. My kids, you know, they follow him and watch for him. My kids are pretty open minded. They really are. My oldest son really took to Charlie Kirk. I don't know. I just think it's sad. Any life is lost over just talking is sad. That's what I know. I can't wrap my head around it. I mean, talking. That's like you walk outside and you say good morning and somebody shoots you just because you said good morning. I don't know. Kind of a sad deal. Not kind of. It really is. But yeah, I was kind of surprised that some of you all, especially Gray, I was really surprised Gray didn't know who he was. But it happens. I mean, it is what it is. Oh, let's see. Plans for today. Well, I have a couple of big meetings at work. Not big meetings. They're just optimization meetings for different departments. But they have a lot to do with what I'm doing right now. They're pretty big for me. So I've got to make sure I'm prepped for those. Hopefully I'll finish writing the script. I've been writing for a bot or interface for work. If it works correctly, it should allow anybody to do the VPN. I work to be able to go and check on an item right then and there and see where it's at and how much it's in the stock. We're taking you to the website. This is more of a harder button. Give it a generic alias. You could say red patch cable in place of a red 5 foot Ethernet cable that has a part number. You could say red patch cable. It should pull it up and tell you which warehouses that item is at and the amount that's in those warehouses. All at your fingertips. So that's something I'm hoping to get the MVP script finished with that today. Alright, I guess I'll send it back to Russell. Thank you K2KPKG. Yeah, well, I like you never really took super big care of my teeth. Really wish I would have looking back. I don't have dentures or anything yet, but it has been talked about. Dennis Story, the biggest... I got two really. Let's start off with my front teeth. So my front teeth used to overlap a little bit. When I went to the Army, I had rhythm teeth. Well, they took care of those suckers for you in the military. While I was in there getting my rhythm teeth extracted, the dentist, he's an old guy. He was a full-bladed colonel. He was telling me, no, that overlap, if you want, while I'm in there, I can shave it down and make it look better. I said, sure, whatever. I was a young kid. Looked great for a long time. He was really cool. I'll never forget. Percocet. He gave me a prescription for Percocet for my rhythm teeth extraction. And he told me, you can take two of those I needed for pain. Or you can take one of those and drink some beer. No joke. That was exactly what he told me. And I wasn't the only soldier that he told that to. I had found out later. So, yeah, that worked out really well until the fact that he shaved it so thin that it started chipping. And so, yeah, that's one of my stories. And then the other one's a little more life-threatening. Maybe it's a warning to everybody who's never had an abscess. The night before I deployed to Iraq, well, actually to Kuwait. We went to Kuwait before we went to Iraq. It was February 13, 2003. I can tell you exactly the date. My wife and I were having our last dinner. She made hamburgers and french fries. And we were chowing down on hamburgers and french fries, and I hit a bone. Not my totally back molar, but the one next to it. And it cracked it bad. It hurt. And, again, not enough to stop me from being deployed or anything. And I never said anything about it and continued on. Oh, gosh, four or five months into Iraq, there we are on a patrol, doing all those things. And by this time, that world confusion had turned into an abscess. And that abscess has creeped up into the right side of my face. And lo and behold, on a very, very hot mission that we were on, I passed out. And it was because of the abscess. I woke up two days later at the field hospital with my tooth extracted, and the doctor is yelling. You know, not really yelling at me, but getting on to me for not saying anything about it. So, yeah, don't let those abscess wait. Thank you for asking. Cami here, KJ7RAB. Yeah, it was so good to get out on the trails yesterday, and they weren't even really trails. They were more roads. But the one that we went on to end the day, I got the fear, and so I didn't go all the way to the top. I don't like heights, and I don't like being off-camber when I'm looking down a 3,000 foot drop, and it makes me just feel kind of woozy, and I pushed through a couple of times, and then I got to the point where it was like, no, I've got to stop because once I get in that state, I'm afraid I'm going to make mistakes, and mistakes can be costly in that kind of situation. So I stopped and let Robert go on, And he went on for a little bit until he found some snow and then decided to come back down. It was fun too because I got to play with all my ridiculous lighting and that was great fun. So I can't wait to go out again. We just haven't been doing enough of that. And I think part of the reason I got the fear is because I don't drive that much anymore. I work at home, or I live at work, more like. And I don't even drive at all, really. My truck is on the charger, so the battery doesn't die. So I need to get out and drive more just to stay comfortable with those situations. But it was a lot of fun. Got some mud on the truck. We had a fancy brunch at the gas station in Granite Falls. Then when we got done with driving, we went to the casino that's near our place. They even had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, so I got to have that. Then tonight, we're going to \u2013 I don't know where we're going to go for Friday night, date night, but we found a ceiling fan on OfferUp or Marketplace or one of those websites that somebody in Everett is selling one that's brand new in the box, and it's the very one that we've been looking at. It's at a deeply discounted rate, so we're going to go meet up with them, pick up the ceiling fan, and then find a place to go out and cause some trouble. So maybe we'll get into some of those WWE matches is when we're out there. Hi, hi. We'll let you know. Thanks for hosting. Thanks for getting me in.
