It's nine o'clock. It's time for the nine o'clock net for Monday, August 4, 2025. I'm Jack KI7RMU. I'll be your host for this morning. This is a directed social net that happens on the WW7 PSR 2 meter repeater, which is operated by the Puget Sound Repeater Group. If you'd like to join us, come ahead now with your call sign and name, please. G7FWB. All right, Bill, I've got you. Who's next, please? KIVA Delta 7, Papa Whiskey Bravo. Napa In-N-Out. All right, we have two days in a row. We have the pirate Dave. That's high desert pirate, Brianville. And I've got the AG7. Nope, nope, sorry. Sorry, Dave. AG6EG with an I. Oh, thank you, Dave. Appreciate that down there in California. More stations, please. KJ7VEU, Mike. All right, Mike, I've got you. Thank you so much. Anybody else? Kilo Zero Echo Charlie Kilo Zero Echo Charlie Kilo, Gail. Well, good morning, Gail. Stand by. We'll get you in shortly. Let's go back to the top and talk to Bill, KJ7FWSB. How's your Monday, Bill? Oh, hi, Jack. Yeah, Mondays are always a little slow, huh? Anyway, an hour out to Pirate Dave there. And morning to you. Just got back from washing my car, a bare car wash. And we got a meeting here, some kind of a... Mostly about bylaws and stuff like that, so. And yesterday we played about 20 games. Guess who won? About 12 of those. Big scores, too. Yes. So I did really good. Everybody else thought I did good, too. So that's about all I have. KJ7FWB. Now, there is no money bet on these games, Marjan. Is there? So are you like a rich man this morning? Well, I'm rich in plastic chips only. Back to you. Alright, well I guess it all depends on what you can trade those in for. And it sounds like probably not much, except for the glory of the win. I think that's probably enough for you there, Bill. Alright, well be nice to you, my friend. You have a great morning. Enjoy the rest of the day. And we'll talk soon. KJ7FWB. Let's go down to Primeville and pick it up in Oregon with Dave, the high desert pirate. Good morning, sir. Well, good morning, Jack and everybody on the net. Well, it's kind of a little bit of clouds this morning, but not too bad. And they're supposed to be dissipating away. Yesterday we did get another really nice thunderstorm yesterday evening. And we got a little rain overnight, so that was kind of neat. And yeah, things are not quite so hot. We haven't even gotten up to 60 degrees yet today. So definitely a little cool down in the weather for the next couple of days. And then nice and getting warmer again for the weekend. So that works for us. And let's see, other than that, not a lot going on down here. Got a little shopping to do on the usual Monday morning shores. So I think with that I'll turn it back to the net and say 73 is to all. And have a great week. Thanks for taking that this morning, Jack. KJ7FWB, Dave, the high desert pirate radio. Alright, Dave. Yeah, I like that cooler temperature weather for sure. We're really even now. Looks like Monday to Friday, 71 is going to be our low high. And our high high is going to be...high high. Oh boy, I really fell into that one, didn't I? 74 degrees. So boy, I tell you. And then Wednesday I heard we might have as much as an inch of rain. So boy, I tell you the summer garden is going to really love that. Hey, did you hear the KI7UEF flew up to Seattle for the last day of Sea Bear yesterday? Did you hear that yesterday by chance on the net? We had him in a couple of times. I checked in aeronautical mobile and I don't know what happened once he got here. I know Chris, KK7HD, and I think maybe Dean, KJ7WDB, and somebody else had a chance to meet up with him and hang out. So that was good. But did you hear that he made an update? Hey Jack, yes I did. I monitored a lot of that. And I believe he ended up landing in Auburn because they had some kind of a mix up at the Boeing field there so he couldn't get into Boeing. And I think Rebecca was going to meet up with him too. And I'm not sure if she did or not. But at any rate, yeah, I copied most of that. I talked to him up in the air a couple of times. And then also picked up on some other chit chat about him. So at any rate, it sounds like he had kind of an interesting flight up there. Hopefully he'll get back okay. At any rate, I decided to say 73s. And thanks for checking because he was very much aware that he had hit flown up. So back to you Jack, 87PWGB. Quick comment? I think we had Bill with a comment there. Just cut him off. Sorry Dave, or sorry Bill. Hey Dave, thank you so much. Well it's always good to know that if somebody's going to make a big trip last minute, well not really last minute but kind of, to the Seattle area to hang out. And I'm sure you know that we've got a contingency that can get down there and hang out with him and have some fun. So that turned out really good. Alright well hopefully Matt will have a chance to check in this morning. Alright Dave, thanks again. I think we had a comment on why KG7FWB. Let's go to Bill. Was that you Bill? Yes sir, that was. Talking about the weather, guess what? Sunday, August 10th. Forecast 81 degrees. KG7FWB. Alright well that sounds good to me. You might have to eat your ice cream quick or grab another napkin. But you know that sounds fine. And believe it or not if you remember the space by the pickleball court it's an ideal spot. Because around, I don't know, it must be maybe right around noon, that whole area becomes shady. So 81 in shade will be excellent. I cannot wait. Alright well thank you Bill, appreciate that. Alright Dave, if you have a great day, size 10 of course. Dave from California, ACC, AGC, oh god I can never get it right. AC6EG, there we go, Coast Guard checked in with an I.O. Let's go to Mike. Mike, good morning. KJ7VU. Hi Jack, I'll pause you in a second here. You haven't been on that long and I know I won't be here soon. Somebody's trying to get me to time out early. That's okay, I can play games too. Mine are a little more serious than that usually though. I'm from Detroit, you don't want to mess with people from Detroit. We have Italian friends in Detroit, I know a lot of Italian people in Detroit but that's beside the point. James Donaldson was a Seattle supersonic, was at the church yesterday after the 815 service up here in the Village. That was really interesting, he wrote a book, he's going around talking about mental illness and stuff, he's had his issues. As most of us have, if we're thinking about politics, yeah we have mental issues. It's just depression, it's normal for an American thing. That's okay, I've gotten used to it. I've been living in America all my life and I'm still trying to get used to it. I do love America as much as possible, most of the time. Still, I'm doing my laundry, I'm going to pull it out of the dryer, I just throw it in and throw it around the house. I'll let it dry that way, save a little energy. Don't need to heat the place anymore, that's for sure. It is 60 degrees outside. I'm going to go to the Senior Center, have some coffee and socialize. I could use a little mixed food. JJ, some of you, thanks for the check in Jack, and see you around. Alright, hey Mike, so yeah, James Thompson, wow, he was in the NBA a long time. Is he still 7 feet tall? I mean I know your spine will compress after a while, you do get a little bit shorter throughout the later stages of your life, not that he's in his later stages. In fact, I don't even remember how old he is right now, but he must be still 7 feet, huh? Yeah, that's the one question, he's just answering it, but yeah, he looks like he's about 6'11\", still, you know. He's, oh let's see, he was, I think he's, I forget, but I hooked him up and he actually played for an Italian team after he graduated Wazoo and it was a basketball scholarship, one worked over in Italy for a team, and any team he got recruited by the Seahawks. Obviously, he talks about super sonics, after they won in 78 and 9, they won a championship and they said, this guy's good for us, and he worked for Lenny Wilkins and stuff back then. Yeah, that was really interesting to hear him talk about strategy, he was talking about some new, they were talking about expansion and stuff, and he said, he said, he should do some Division 2 stuff, and they do better in recruiting, and yeah, he's all into that, seriously, in management and everything, and yeah, he's a hard worker, and yeah, he's doing okay, he's successful, and yeah, he meets those friends up here in the village, I guess. And Saturday, he said, that's cool, yeah, he's a local, apparently. So, yeah, good seeing him, and he's probably up here part of Seafair or something too, there was hundreds of people up here on the weekend, Sunday was a lot more mellow. Thank you, Jack, thanks, TJ7. Alright, well thank you so much, Mike, yeah, I was up in the village there for Magnolia Fest on Saturday, I didn't see you around, I did find the local emergency hub folks, so that was really fun, hung out with them for a little bit, talked to them, saw some other people that I knew, and had a generally great time, then I got a burrito down by the gas station at the food truck there, and man, those things like the size of a burrito. Oh, so good, it was two meals. Anyway, alright, well you have a great day, Mike, thank you so much, and James Johnson gives back to his community in many ways, we appreciate that. Alright, well let's go down to Texas, Kyle, Texas at first, it's 12 minutes past top of the hour, 9, 12 AM, I'm Jack, KI7, RMU, let's go pick it up with Gail, K0, ECK, hi Gail. Hello everybody, Jack and everybody, just wanted to say hi to everybody, Mike, I had some rain today, I don't know, you can hear my third party traffic over here is active, which I won't complain about because that means he's moving around and not, you know, just laying in one spot, as long as he's talking, eating, and drinking, I'm just going to be a little bit more careful. I'm happy. Everybody have a great day, KI7, ECK. Oh, that is hilarious, what is your cat's name? Okay, maybe I'm, well, his name is actually Naoki, and we've been eating and animating stuff, but we call him Pit Cat, like the candy bar, and he's 26 years old, and you know, he's still enjoying life in the center of our world, and he's still having trouble grooming himself, so we've been having to cut off bunches of his fur to get him out of, but you know, what can you say, he has whatever privileges he gets. Anyway, that's the story, KI7, ECK, back to you, Jack. Uh, okay, wow, a 26 year old in human years is equivalent to a 124 year old cat. Wow, that is amazing. Okay, that's an old cat, right? Take care of Kit Cat there. Alright, thank you, KI, let's get some more stations for the 9 o'clock Met. I'm Jack, KI7, RMU, if you'd like to join us, come ahead, call a sign of me. This is John KI9, Julia Decobrado, fighting the angry bees on cloudy Kamino Island. Good morning, Jack. Hey, good morning, John, thank you very much for your eye, I appreciate that. I bet it's going to clear up a little bit later, and I think you might see some rain with the rest of us on Wednesday. You're probably looking forward to that. I think I am too, and so is my garden. Alright, John, thank you so much, more stations please, for the 9 o'clock Met. Thanks for watching."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-08T21:33:31+00:00","id":15333,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15332,"text":" Thank you Rebecca and I just want to say a quick hello to Kevin, my fellow member on the Papa System. I talked to him earlier tonight when he was on my antenna net. So speaking of antenna net, the antenna net went really good. We had some good questions from New Ham's and discussed some other antenna nets. Just for general, we have just a good solid hour of antenna so it was good. I'm very happy with it. I'm here in the Bay Area. It was like 90 degrees here today but I'm not sure if that's good. But definitely it was warm. I might turn it on a couple of times. But you know it's nice to have you say that. Meanwhile, I had my cleaner came in and she took care of the apartment for me. And boy they are good out of this group. But just spotless. And so she went in and did something and went in the room. And some reason she, I think, hit the off button on it down on the floor. It was there. And tell Alexa to return to the lab on it. It wouldn't turn on. So I went over there and waited. And at the bottom in black was the audio. I think I've never seen a microphone that could play a part. So everyone was experimenting. Other than that, that's about it for you Rebecca. Thank you for doing that as always. My sister broke down just about a month ago now. There's a cleaning crew that comes in and cleans up our house once a month. And it really, it is a help. Amazing. It's amazing getting the oven cleaned once a month. But yeah, perfect. I'm glad that you're getting that cleaning crew in. And yeah, you know, I guess it's a small price to pay for having a clean house. Sometimes they just mess with your step. But that's great. I'm so glad the antenna net went well. I love that you do that. Every day at 7 p.m. Pacific time. That's awesome Jeff. Thank you so much for your report. And have a fun ham radio full day tomorrow. Saturday. 7-3 Jeff. Alright, next on the list is Herb in Galveston, Texas. Please come ahead with your report Herb. Open the internet, Rebecca. And everyone on the net. Well, it's a typical Friday night. I've got the guy on and he's sampling all kinds of stuff from all over the country. As far north as Kansas and as far west as Texas. And he's doing a lot of work. I haven't had a chance to go to the store and get ice cream. So I haven't had a taste of ice cream over a week. And I'm kind of going through ice cream withdrawal. I've got to see if I can get something the next day or two. Definitely been the weather for it because it's really warm. I'm not sure if it's going to be a good time. And let's see what else is going on. Last week I happened to look at the weather for the first time. And I'm not sure if it's going to be a good time. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Well last week I was having to look at the O'Neill Air Festival, the air show that they're handling. And I got to see some of the acts they were doing us doing in our minds. So that was cool because I'm kind of an aviation love. I used to like to go to the air shows a lot and take lots of pictures. I've got all kinds of pictures of the Thunderbirds, the Blue Angels, the Snowbirds, other types of acts. And I haven't been in a while just now. So you know it was good to see any of these. Can we see them online? And let's see what else is going on in the world. I can't really think of much of anything. I'm thinking I had a whole lot to talk about but I guess I know. So with that I'm going to say 73 88 all the numbers stands for Hulson and Nat. The back of me. Scat 550 YB. That's the Nat. Well thank you so much. Yeah. Our friend Matt was in town so we got to see a little bit of the air show. I was dragging my feet so we missed a lot of it. But anyway, KI-7UEF was in town and I went to see them for the first time. And didn't see much and it's all my fault. But anyway, that's cool. I did know that you were an aviation buff. That's awesome Herb. I'm glad that you got to see some of it. And just so you know I have a quick solve for your ice cream problem. All you got to do is just jump in the car and head this way. Because Sunday they were doing an ice cream social in a beautiful part of Seattle called Green Lake. So quick fix. Just get in your car now, fill it up with gas and head north. 73 88 and all the numbers Herb. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the Guy Fieri update. This is Rebecca KK79JZ and you're listening to the 9PSRG Social Net. Let's start a new list. Call sign and name, RF and internet. K-3-O-E-7 Juliet X-ray, tracking for R with Kilo Juliet cover, Romeo Alpha Bravo, K-Mobile. K-6 Romeo Alpha X-ray, Peter Santa Cruz, I-O. Alright, I'm going to draw a line there so I can catch up a little. First on the list is Rich, K-3-O-E and Polo. Next we have KJ7 JXM and KJ7 RAB Mobile. Do you need to go ahead and go or do you want to stay in queue? I think we're okay because branding was in range of a node here soon if we aren't doing that RF. Okay, and then we have Peter from Santa Cruz I-O. Let's take some more stations. Call sign and name, RF and internet. K-7 RAB Mobile, K-Mobile. Hello Rebecca, this is Charlie. Kilo Kelly to C or Tango Oscar. Alright, we have the handler here, Crusader, Fred in Oklahoma. Okay Fred, I can't, I have to. Every time someone calls from Oklahoma I always do that. Anyway, and there's Charlie. I'm going to go ahead and draw a line there and go back to the top to Rich and Polo. Hey you two, what are you up to tonight in beautiful West Seattle? K-3-O-E, KK7 IJZ. Good evening Rebecca, well what are we up to? Oh we're nice and comfy here in the easy chair and Polo falls knuckle next to me so that's cool. And yeah, this evening I looked around the house to see what I could make a crazy antenna out of and I found a couple of things. So I have a whirly gig on top that my dad made decades ago so a little bit nostalgia there for me. And then there are some candy jar rings on the bottom that I soldered together and it's working fine so how about that? Well what's going on? Well yesterday I didn't make a crazy antenna because I actually wasn't here. I was down at the Museum of Flight and spent about four hours down there. It was fantastic especially because our friend, W70H, Dan was down there and gave me a grand tour of the whole place. So that was just absolutely fantastic. So anyway, what else? Beautiful day here. I think it was a beautiful day everywhere. Anyway, Polo and I made the best of it. Anyway, thank you so much for doing this and back to you K-3-O-E. Well that sounds like fun. I keep on, you know, just adding to the list. I keep on wanting to go and visit Dan at the Museum of Flight and get a secret tour. That's great. I'm glad that you, I'm very glad that you took time to do that. Rich, it's a really, it's such an interesting museum. Yeah, it's a lot of fun. And yeah, that's what I wrote down. Whirligig plus canning jar rings. I, uh, yeah, that's great. That sounds awesome. I love it. I love it. I love crazy antenna time, Rich. Keep them coming. We'll give this to Polo and 7-3 and 88 to you both and have a wonderful evening in beautiful West Seattle in your beautiful home. And yeah, thanks for stopping by. Alright, next on the list is Robert, KJ7, JXM. How's date night going? Well, first of all, how's our signal? It is both copyable, completely copyable and terrible. So come ahead with your report. Just do it. Alright, alright, alright. This is KJ7, JXM, Robert and 6 tacos, 2 sofas and 2 margaritas in the night. It has been a incredible night. Oh my goodness. I got the first man of 2 completed today. So I got him set out first thing in the morning. I'll get the 2 man completed tomorrow. And then back to the dealership on Sunday so that I can pay the ASAP. There's a couple good checks there. I'm going to spend it about $10. I also received my first check for the business today. Oh, it was so awesome. Robert got it at a bank. It was such a gratifying feeling and was just spectacular. So I'm very happy with how things are going so far. I'm excited to tell my employer that hey, I might need a little bit more time off because I got work coming. But I got to get that work coming first because these first couple of jobs are just taking the bucket and ready to go. So really excited about it all. Be concerned about what's been future will hold for JXM on a modem. It's just exciting. I'm trying to put work together the best I can and not let the margaritas win. It was a celebration night as well as a nice Friday night. So very excited to be where I am in the natural season. I'm in charge with all the fancy lights on. There's so much more I can talk about. I'm going to go ahead and take a quick break. He's got a lot of drive and light. We win. As of now, Rebecca, you are an amazing host. I love you so very much, my friend. I am honored to be in my friend group and be part of my small circle of friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hope you are having a fantastic evening. Enjoy the ball. And Pat from the back, your other little horse there. And Al's president, Andy. So thank you for doing everything to my friends. I really do appreciate it. And I appreciate the whole PSRT group. And look forward to seeing everyone on the meeting, the four meetings tomorrow. I will try to be front of you even though I might be partially working at the same time. So we'll see how that goes. I can't, I'm rambling now because, yeah, the margaritas are talking. So thank you for what you do. TJ7JXM clearing and banking, my friend."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-03T22:40:43+00:00","id":13935,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13934,"text":" Good evening, Tim. Thanks for doing the net tonight. And good evening to everyone else listening. This is Dean, KG7ODD. I don't have too much to add, although Rebecca, as she mentioned, we got together. Rebecca, Matt, KI7UEF and I, we met up on Capitol Hill and went out and had ice cream and coffee and just hung out. It's always good to get those eyeball quesos. We even tried to find Joan. We were standing down near the Ginny Hendricks statue. And so Matt tried to reach her on the radio, but to no avail, but probably some other time. And then before I took the light rail back up to near North Seattle, where I live, I took a little walk on Broadway. I went into Spin Cycle Records and looked through the store there. There's a pretty good vinyl record store, which is a lot of fun. Yeah, I guess it was a pretty good day. So anyway, thanks for doing the net. I hope Brian's doing well. KG7ODD. Thank you, Dean. You're standing good. Sounds like you had a good Sunday. Yeah, the weather yesterday and today suited me just fine. I'm fine with this just kind of pleasantly just warm, a little bit overcast, not too hot. So I've enjoyed the weather yesterday and today and it sounds like you did as well. Yeah, Joan, she comes off of the nets and then usually she drops off and gets on with two other activities. So it's hard to catch her when she's monitoring. But don't forget, we've got the show on Monday night coming up soon. All right. Thank you, Dean. Let's see if we have some other check ins. Come ahead and name a call. Yeah, November five, America. Quick back to Mike. 10-5-8-2-M. Mike and Chandler. Good evening. Got you there, Chandler, Mike. Come ahead and N5-8-2-M. Let's go ahead and get your report. Good evening, 10 Internet N5-8-2-M. Mike here and Chandler. We're back to Scorchville. We had a couple of weeks, we had like two weeks where it was really nice. Very unseasonable temperatures, really low. Now we're back to the 110s, the 115s. We had lows in the low 70s for a couple of weeks, overnight temperatures. It was just lovely. We were just loving it. But anyway, not much else to report. I was out at the model field all weekend flying early in the morning. It's really nice. It's okay in the morning. But it really warms up quick. So we're out of there by about 11, 11.30. So, out of the model field. But anyway, not much else going on here. The bands of the HF Vans still aren't very good. It's kind of a bummer. But I'm plinking away here, doing my best on FTE8. So thank you again and thanks for having me. N5-8-2-M. Thank you Mike. Coming in really good there. And yeah, the HF Vans got some spot activities, sort of scrubs and all that activity pretty much. But, yeah, G8 getting through and getting some results. So I gave you some idea what the propagation is. Alright, thank you for that check-in. Let's see if we have any other check-ins. This is Tim, K7-CEI. Coming in at name and call. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. Call star node 6222. Located in Shelton, Washington. Ryan, yeah, you're going to have to come back and if you can maybe get to a better place where you can have a more solid internet connection. You started beeping out there and blanking on the Supermon scope for a little while there, about probably a third of the way into your report. So if you can hear me now, yeah, come back a little bit later if you can, okay? Yeah, I heard Laura in there briefly. I heard her say something, but I wasn't sure what it was. But anyway, all right, well, sorry about that and I hope you guys have a safe drive and have fun in Republic. All right, let's go back and talk to Matt, KI7UEF. Thank you, Matt. Well, I don't think Sean has ever, in his entire life, been asked that question. So maybe we'll pose it to him for the first time. So, stand by and be ready with some answers there, Sean. Alright? Okay, so hey, so back to the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere in Las Vegas, one of the biggest screens ever devised at any time ever in human existence. And I saw the video of how they pulled this off, okay? And it is such amazing technology. They were inventing new technology to make this work. You are going to be completely blown away, you and Pam. And you are really, really going to enjoy it. And if you can, pick up any literature they have at the presentation on how they did it. And I don't know if they'll show anything before, maybe after on how they did it, but there is a video on YouTube that is just astounding. It is really, really incredible. Alright, well I'm really curious to find out what you think of it, and do get back to us and stay cool. Yeah, there's a heat advisory issued for Idaho and Washington four minutes ago from the National Weather Service. And they say the heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time Thursday. So there you go, temperatures range from 93 to 103 depending on where you are. And limited overnight relief with low temperatures 58 to 65. Yikes! Oh, that sounds good though. Alright Ken, you take care. Let's go to Matt now, KI7UEF. Man, you've got that just, you've got that. No problem at all. Well, you know, if you do decide to do that, don't forget to take a node or a radio or something, or borrow one when you get over there. Boy, that would be the continuing adventures of Matt, KI7UEF. Where's Matt today? Oh wait, no, that's, uh, that's something from NBC. Alrighty, well you take care of that. And hey, real quick, so, Chris, uh, does he talk to other members from Warm Showers, the group across the United States, or does he just meet up with random people, or how does he get help, or how does he get the next spot? I, I have a feeling it's through Warm Showers, right? Just like the way he found you. And has he encountered any trouble at all, or bike breakdowns? And is he riding a Brompton? I know that's a lot to pack in there, but what have you got on that? Back to you, Matt. KI7UEF, KI7RMU. Brompton, uh, for sure. He's riding a Trek Checkpoint, pretty common standard issue, uh, Trek kind of gravel-ish bike. It's kitted out nice, he's with panniers and blah, blah, blah. Um, Warm Showers has a, uh, a whole application, uh, ecosystem as well as a website. It's kind of nice, they, uh, you know, like anything, you have to watch for people abusing it. But, uh, you as a, as a rider, as a guest, have to pay a membership fee, uh, to solicit requests via their platform. Uh, their, their platform will show you where their hosts are located, and, and by that method, you can then select to send them a request. Ask for some help on your bike journey. I like to pay it forward, you know. Uh, I've, I've certainly been, um, gifted some places to stay off that platform and others, and, uh, yeah, it's nice to chat with the, the folks coming through. And, uh, lend them, I, I know the value of a nice place to lay your head in a Warm Shower after a long, hard day on the bike.
