What's going on? Are you working today? Ah, yes, a dumb question, isn't it? KJ7RAP, good afternoon. Here's the funny Jack. KJ7RAP, can't be here. Of course I'm working. Jack, I worked until after midnight last night, I know. I'm so tired, so tired and there's no end in sight. I did get done a specific thing I needed to get done last night. I hope I did it well and didn't make too many errors because, you know, when you're tired, that kind of lends itself to making errors. But I was pretty careful and I don't think I made any and I think the person who received my work product was pretty happy about it. It was one of those things that was a rush, a job that needed to be done right away. So, you know, until I learned how to manufacture time or get one of those time turners that Hermione Granger had in Harry Potter or figure out how to clone myself, I'm stuck with working long hours. Let's see, today's Thursday, I'm so happy, tomorrow's Friday. I'm really looking forward to the weekend because it has been a long, brutal week. And then, when I went to take the trash out to the curb last night, the weather decided to start just dumping rain. So I had a t-shirt on and leggings and no hat and holy moly, it was just a little downpour. And then when I came back in, I looked at the news and it was showing the radar and there was this little tiny cell right above Arlington. And so it looked like there was this little rain cloud right above our house just dumping rain on me, just in time to go out there and take the trash out. It was pretty funny because it happened immediately at the drop of a hat and then went away and I'm like, really? Waited until I took the trash out, but it's all good. Yeah, other than that, just working, lurking, I'm happy that you all are keeping me company and I'm really looking forward to the Rain or Shine ice cream social, you know, Brooks and Meghan Jubilee. So, I got that going for me. Thanks for hosting. Thanks for getting me in and radio waves to you, Jeff. I wasn't afraid to drink my coffee this morning. Hi, hi. KJ7RAB, back to you. All right. Thank you, Kevin. I'm really looking forward to seeing you and the whole gang out there at Green Lake for the ice cream social Sunday. I know Meghan, I know she had mentioned that she was printing up the ice cream tickets and then she ran out of ink and she ran out of paper stock, so she had to race off and get some of that. So I hope that happens. I just got an announcement. Chat GPT5 has been released, I guess, four different flavors. I don't know if they've got them all out today, but that's going to be very curious. They say this is really quite something. Anyway, more on that later. All right, Kami, good to hear you. Yeah, I love the rain. I stood out there last night and it was a sprinkling night. It wasn't really coming down hard, but I just had, you know, I just had a t-shirt and shorts on and I was just out there just standing in the rain just letting it hit my head and just feeling that. And I think that knocked down some of the smoke, which is a definitely good thing for our lungs. I don't mind that one bit, but let's go talk to Jeff. Kami, have a great afternoon. AB6MB. Hey, Jeff, what's happening? Oh, see here. Sunny outside and 73 degrees here. Very nice day. See here, I suppose they have the cleaners come over today, but there is a mix up on their scheduling. So they'll be here Monday to do their magic. And it is like magic. They're amazingly good. Yeah, watching some racing, bicycle racing on TV here. And I just talked out the nuts out on the patio. I saw the princess earlier, but there's nobody out there, right? No squirrel, that is. But they're going to be here any minute because it's right around their feeding time. They do know how to keep time, you know, and pretty smart, smart little guys. Meanwhile, got some cleaning to do here, wash some dishes and get things moving. And that back's been bothering me. I've been taking some stuff for pain, so it helps. But you know, when they do this bicycle race, they do a lot of shots where they're way up in the air and you're looking at the whole town. And you know, you're up there, they just have the prettiest towns. And it's just really nice to see that. And I actually saw one village where they actually incorporated the turrets, the fort and the walls into, it was like apartment buildings. And so that was pretty cool. That's pretty creative. Okay, well turn it back to you, Jack. That's about it for here. I drank out my coffee, so I'll see if I can get up the courage to go make a second cup and not be afraid to drink it. The AB6MB. Alright, well you have a great afternoon there, Jeff. Hey, now that the tour de france is over, you have got to go check out what they've done up at Whistler. At Whistler, they have, I think it's the biggest bike park on the planet. And I tell you, these trails, there's just tons of trails. And they had these two riders just going down as many of them. I think they tried to do all of them in this video. The video runs for over an hour. And I tell you, they are just flying down these hills. Unreal. And they are just having a blast. And I'm just thinking how are all these guys just not dead because they are just flinging themselves up and over the entire course and just having a blast. I don't know how fast they are really going time wise and speed wise, but man, right through the trees, little tiny trails. Anyway, you would really enjoy that. In fact, I'll send you a link if you want to see the one I watched last night. Anyway, don't be afraid to drink your coffee. I have another cup. It's on me. And we'll talk to you soon, Jeff. Alright, let's see who else is out there for the noon. I'm Jack KI7R. Who are you? Come ahead. Call and sign your name. OH-MOBO. Okay, all I got was OH-MOBO. You were talking when I was still talking. Who was that? W70H. I thought that was Dan. Alright, Dan. I've got you. Stand by. Who's next?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.8200000000000001,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T09:43:34+00:00","id":16149,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16148,"text":" Cami, take it away. How are you doing? What a fantastic day yesterday. You and Robert really tore it up on net control. Fantastic. Go ahead, KJ7RAB. Well, good morning to you, Jack, and everyone out there on the net. Cami here, KJ7RAB. Yeah, it was so much fun. And speaking of tearing it up on the net, what about Madeline and the 9 a.m. net? Holy moly, she did amazing. It was so much fun to listen to her host as we were driving in. And then seeing everybody in person, that was fantastic. The weather couldn't have been better. And the spot that you chose, Jack, was perfect. Tons of shade. I didn't get sunburned, so that's also a plus. And then, yeah, meeting John in person was fantastic. You know, he's someone that I've spoken to on the radio for some time but just never had the opportunity to meet in person. So, John, thank you so much for being there and hanging out with us. It was a lot of fun. And then we had a meal with Sebastian and Ping afterwards and then made the long trek home. And I have loads of dishes to do now. I didn't feel like doing them when I got home, so I'll do those later today. It's going to be hot today, Jack. I've got the fan going. Robert said it's going to be like 90, which is probably going to push it up over 100 in my office. So I might need to figure something else out or I might need to go work somewhere else when it pushes up that hot in here. I don't think I could handle that. Thanks again for everything that you do. What an amazing event yesterday. So much fun. Yeah, let's get another one calendar. Seems like everyone's up for it. KJ7RAB, back to net control. Cami, what do you think of this? Now, I don't think the people down at the convenience store would necessarily like this, but you know, they always have that big old ice bin outside the store. Maybe do the work today from the ice bin. What do you think? You probably just tie up the lid that pops up and then just sit in there on the ice. What do you think? I think that's a great idea. I'll let you know how that goes. That makes me think of, what day was it? Saturday, I think I went down to a little vintage shop on the main street here. And nobody has air conditioning, Jack. So they have the door open, they had a big fan going. A family with these two little boys came in and the little boys immediately ran over to the fan and were standing right there in front of it and just cracked me up because I think that's what all of us want to do. But they just ran over and did that immediately. I so related to that. KJ7RAB, back to you. Well, that's because the kids are fearless. You can't embarrass me. I'm a kid. Watch out. Get away from that fan, buddy. I want a fan in front of it. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's so cute. Well, I totally get it. You could order one of those industrial fans from McMaster Car or one of the big industrial companies. They have those fans that are like 4, 5, 6 feet high. Or the ones they use on the Hollywood movies. Those things are massive. Oh my God, that would be perfect up there. Of course, your office would be in the next door neighbor's house in about 10 minutes. So maybe not a good idea there either. Well, I'm full of bad ideas, so don't listen to me. What am I talking about? Cami, great to see you. Thank you so much. Glad you and Sebastian Pang and Robert had a great time after the net yesterday. What a fun time that must have been. All right, talk to you soon. KK7VNI, Andrew Grautbot. Thank you. KJ7BWB, the high desert pirate. Let's go to Prineville now. Dave, good morning. Good morning, Jack and everyone on the net. Sounds like you had an absolutely awesome new net yesterday. The Rain or Shine net and the Ice Cream Social and all that. Sounds like great fun. Sorry we couldn't have been there. But we'll be up there on Wednesday evening, so there you go. What can I say? Let's see, other than that, I'm still just kind of working through things, trying to figure out what all we're going to take to Canada with us and all that fun stuff. And yeah, kind of looking forward to the trip up there. I haven't seen these friends for a long time, so it'll be fun. Especially with their kids and all their kids. So wow, that says it all. And so yeah, looking forward to it. Got some work to do in the shop today. I got to get to where I'm still playing around with and working on and doing some stuff on it. And a little bit of shopping to do. And then of course tomorrow I'm going to be spending all day down in Bend. And so yeah, getting the truck to the trip. And unfortunately this is a big one, so it's like they're going to change all the differential oils and all that fun stuff as well. Not just the quick oil change type thing. It's going to be a long, long afternoon. And we're already at 83 degrees here, so yeah, warm day showing up. We're going to be right up in the high 90s today and high 90s tomorrow. So I was thinking I could go wander around Bend but not when it's 98 or 99 degrees out. I don't think so. Oh well. Guess I'll take a good book and some crossword puzzles and bide my time. Anyway I'll take the computer and see if I can get online and connect All Star or Echo Link and check in there. Might be kind of fun maybe to get in on the new net tomorrow. We'll see. Sometimes I can get in and sometimes I can't. We'll see. Anyway thanks for doing the net this morning Jack and everybody have a great week and we will look forward to talking to you soon. Okay D7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave, the High Desert Pirate Radio. Alright well as part of that safety check the auto shops usually do when you take it in for oil changes or fluid changes, that kind of thing. Do have them check the air conditioners too. Because and this is why you already said it's going to be like 90. I don't know where you get your weather from. I just pulled this up. Dave it says currently 75 and sunny in Prineville. Today 102 degrees is the high blazing sunshine, very hot, breezy this afternoon, danger of dehydration, heat stroke if outside for extended periods of time, Tuesday 102, very hot with hazy sun, danger and all that stuff right. So I don't know it seems like a little bit of a difference between the two. Of course you can stay inside as much as possible anyway. So I don't know what do you think is that 102? Did you hear that anywhere else? I have and I've also seen anything from 97 to about 103 so depends on which model you look at. Yeah it's going to be a warm one that's for sure. And it's not going to cool off too much tonight so usually things are really chilly up here in the nights in the high desert. But no tonight it's not supposed to be very chilly so oh well. We have air conditioning it's not a big deal so now we keep the house shaded so having all the solar panels on the roof gives you that insulated layer up there and it really helps keep the house cooler in the hot weather. So that's kind of nice I gotta say. So with that I'll turn it back in 73s and we'll catch you later. K-D 7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave the high desert pirate radio. Alright and to your point there you have 57 degrees tonight. That is the low 57 56. Tomorrow I tell you you could have a midnight picnic or a little snack or something. No problem there just light light clothing. Anyway take care Dave have a great time and I know you'll probably roll through Seattle I think you said about Wednesday so have a good trip and have a nice time with your friends. Alright we'll talk to you later say hi to Sam. Alright let's see who else is next if you'd like to come join us all I need is your name and call for the 9 o'clock at 9 38 I'm Jack KI 7R Mute come in call to find a name."},{"callsign_confidence":0.8200000000000001,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T09:19:38+00:00","id":16146,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16145,"text":" but you can hear me real quick. Yeah, you're sounding fantastic on RF, still in town. Okay, yeah, go ahead please. Alright, I was moving the antenna around the driveway here. Anyway, I took a bunch of photos yesterday and I failed to bring with me a SD card reader, so I will have to go through those on my flight back to Boston and then upload them at a later date when I can find my SD card reader somewhere in the house. I know it's over there, I just gotta hunt it down through all of the stuff over there. They will be coming eventually. I got some good shots of people hanging out. Rich standing over there with his fish net antenna. Dean showing up with the donuts. Got some good stuff. So, other than that, just a nice quiet morning here. Anna's still asleep actually. She's a sleeper in the morning. She likes sleeping. Other than that, just slowly getting ready, starting to pack my bags. Gonna be looking at flights either for tonight or tomorrow morning. So, that's all I got. Thanks for running the net, Jack. Lovely to see you and everyone else at the Rain or Shine yesterday. And I will throw it back to you, KJ7WQI. All right, man, have a good trip back and say good morning to Anna whenever she wakes up or maybe it'll be a good afternoon from me. That was so great to see the two of you. I can tell you were moving around pretty darn good for that camera and man, it looked like you got some great shots. Can not wait to see them. And of course, Dean with the parade oven presentation of the donuts. That is one shot I did not get. I really meant to get it on video. But anyway, all right, you take care of that and I hope you find that card reader. Yeah, that's not like finding your TV or something. Card readers, where is that stupid thing? Come on, come on. Good luck. All right, Matt, well, we'll see you. Yeah, John in there from Kamehameha Island. Sunny day up there. Let's go to Jim, K7PDZ. I'll bet the lake is like glass and you've already been out skiing. What do you think of that? Is that correct there, Jim? K7PDZ. Well, good morning, Jack. You are correct and incorrect. The lake is flat. No, that's the usual conundrum of no driver. The tail that I was skiing with, Sarah had to go back to work and she's to the point now, she's an administrator and their contract starts basically the first of August. So she's gotta be at her desk all week long. Wait till she gets back on Saturday, I guess. I don't know, I gotta start calling one of my friends because right now we got this stretch of really nice weather here. It was hot yesterday. Man, it's gonna be even hotter today over here. I know you guys have hot weather over there too. So we hit 89 yesterday here at the lake and it was in the 90s and it's supposed to be triple digits in a lot of places, like especially the Tri-Cities, so like Lee down there, WGN, might be having some really hot, hot weather down there. So it got so bad here yesterday, we had to come inside, we couldn't sit out anymore. Had to come into the air conditioning cabin. So yeah, we had to rough it over here. Okay, that's why we got Jack and his head to get on there and give you some action this morning so people can get up and get some coffee in them and start checking in. Anyway, back to you Jack. Oh yeah, I looked at all the pictures on Facebook and from the thing yesterday and it looks like you guys had a lot of fun there, a lot of people and almost as many as at the picnic. So anyway, that was cool and I enjoyed looking at the pictures. Seven T's everybody. This is Jim and Jane at their lake, A7 PTZ. All right, Jim, hey, by chance, did you happen to get a chance to see Madeline's posting of the two hour, nine o'clock net she did from Lake's Edge there? Oh yes, when I jumped into it, you were just, I said hi Jack, because you were in the picture. I know there's a little delay there, but not too much. So you might've been out of range by the time I said hi Jack. But yes, I definitely was watching that. K7, PTZ. Oh yeah, that's right. Yeah, I got back into the picture right away and waved at you there. Hey, real quick, one more question. Now Sarah, of course, she's back at work so no boat driver today. However, if you had a self-driving module for the boat, so you had autonomous driving of the boat there, do you think you would trust that while you're skiing behind it? They did have some of those, somebody made one of those, or not made, but they were manufacturing something like that that was a remote control module that your rope went, you held onto the rope, but you were controlling the speed and everything of this blobby thing out in front of you, this kind of like a small jet ski. But I don't think they ever made it because they just didn't have enough power. So maybe that's a thing of the past, but anyway, I could maybe find a Tesla and try to get some of the Tesla controls onto the boat. How does that sound? Then we could figure out how the boat knows where the shore is and everything. It doesn't crash into it. Oh, Jack, that opens up somebody horrible thoughts, K7PZ. Yeah, the first one that came to my mind is you hook it all up and then, yeah, we'll say, well, it's nice knowing you, Jim. Oh, geez, oh, that's a terrible thought. Anyway, maybe just skip that crazy idea, but I'm sure somebody else will choose to do it. All right, anyway, Jim, you have a great day. To edit Jane in that, go find your driver. Let's see who else is available for the 9 a.m. Net 914, I'm Jack KI7R, mute, transmitted from Seattle here. If you'd like to join us, all I need is your name and call. K30E, good morning. K7FWB. Men High Ridge K30E, who's next? KM7, AJM, skipper. Howdy, skipper, I've got you, who's next, please? KG7WB. Good morning, Bill, I've got you, anybody else? KG7WY, John. Oh, man, you really lit up the crowd yesterday. That was awesome, John, I'll tell everybody all about that when we get to you, stand by, please. More stations."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-30T12:40:16+00:00","id":28277,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":28276,"text":" Oh, thank you so much and Jeff, thank you very much for that. Yeah, and I know that Rebecca heard that because she just texted me with that traffic. I was waiting to get in for my repeat. So that all worked out for the best. That's fantastic. All right, well Kurt, great to hear you. I know Rebecca is bachelor readiness. I imagine it. My wife Carolyn got on the train yesterday to go up to Vancouver, BC to visit a friend of hers. She was in for a bit and so she had a great time headed up there. And I tell you, yesterday evening at sunset was just fantastic. From the window on the train, she's having some just gorgeous, gorgeous pictures. It's just amazing. Anyway, it reminded me of Andrew's photos, KF7L and X. So yeah, that was pretty cool. Hey, so as far as our educational meeting up, which you have been asked about there, Kurt. So, at KB8BMI, Mike has signed on. He'll be doing a presentation on working satellites, which is really exciting. He's done that at the Field Day before and I'm very excited to have him come back. He's recently done it for the Hamsdown in the Mason County area of Shelton and that went over really super well. And so this goes back to an idea. One of my very first educational meetings I organized was with the Hamsdown Makers and T. And AG7L, our team member, came all the way down from Brennan Falls and did a presentation and it all happened at the Diamond Bay Cafe. And Randy, W3R, W10, and some of the other people signed down. Randy and I are doing a presentation as well. And we had one other person, which for some reason I can't remember the last year. But anyway, it's really cool. I'm really looking forward to that. A couple of other big things going on today, Kurt. Bumbershoot is going and also the PL Fair, the Washington State Fair in Puyallup. So I'll get down there with Jacob. Maybe today, but probably, you know, actually, he changed it too before it ends. I have to use this back from Alaska. So a lot of things going on. I'm just enjoying my second meal out here on the deck. It's just a perfect afternoon. I'm not blazing hot and it's just a great afternoon here in the evening. All right, Kurt. Thank you so much for getting in. Back to you, sir. KI7R, everybody have a great weekend."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-30T12:36:29+00:00","id":28276,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":28275,"text":" Okay, so Jack I think you would have heard that. Now I'm mad with jealousy. Oh my goodness, this looks so good Mike. I swear I could just put my hand through the screen here and pick up those blackberries that have an old mouthful and then some of this gorgeous ice cream. Wow, that looks great. Alright, I'll try to calm myself down and continue the net. Mike, great to have you, you have a great day and drive safe today, alright? Anyway, get it out eventually. Alright, well hey, you have a great night there Mark, great to hear you and boy I tell you I'm just so excited to be able to get in on the mic and key repeat now and go all the way to three minutes which I almost never do because, you know, I'm on the air a lot anyway. And I just cannot do it. He will not hold the rake, he'll barely look at it, and then he hops in his nice car and he takes off and he says, see you later, dad. So yeah, my rake is ready to go. I have no problem with raking. I like the raking, I like the sweeping, I like the picking it up and put it in a leaf bag and I like watching them take them away. Anyway. Alright, Michael, you have a great day up there in Whitehorse. Thank you so much for checking in. We've got to find out what kind of adventure you have planned for the fall and then the winter onslaught. Alright, well we'll talk to you soon.
