I had to unlock the computer. It was, uh, it became locked after inactivity there, uh, for a little while. But, uh, it's all done there now. Yeah, good morning to you, man. That was quite the list. Um, I was just, uh, sat back in the chair thinking, uh, when am I gonna come up? Because the bottom is, uh, it's got to be coming close soon. And then there was another couple and another couple. Man, it's like the list didn't end. Yeah, I tried out a new headset this morning. As a matter of fact, I tried it out on the Calibunga net earlier. And, uh, I was given a good audio report from it. It's, uh, technically a gaming headset. But I figured the things that it does good at gaming, uh, audio quality through the noise-canceling mics, and, um, audio quality through the headphones itself, um, were good. Uh, extremely good. As a matter of fact, I was very impressed. I had never put on a headset in my life that sounded as good as this thing does. And, uh, for anybody that's interested in knowing what it is, it's called the SteelSeries. That's the brand name, SteelSeries. And, uh, it's an Arctis Nova 5. An arctis, just spelled A-R-C-P-I-S. It's an Arctis Nova 5 wireless. So, I highly recommend, uh, out to this station for sure. Let me tell you, it's, uh, my favorite headset ever. And that's saying something, because I've got just around my desk alone, there's five headsets. And this thing smokes all of them. Absolutely every one of them, so. If anybody is interested in a good headset for, uh, Echo Link or All Star, or, um, you know, pairing with your phone for listening to music, it's, uh, it's two-mode. It's Bluetooth, but it also comes with this little dongle that enables 2.4 gigahertz, uh, zero-latency mode. So, if you want to use this headset while you're watching a movie, or playing a game, or watching a TV show, there's zero latency, so your audio from your mic will line up perfectly with the, uh, audio from the, you know, your surroundings and stuff, in the game, or in the movie, or whatever. So, um, highly recommend these things. Uh, anybody that's interested in getting a new headset, the mic is excellent on it. Uh, at least as far as I've been told, I'm using it right now, so you can let me know. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 10 in November for the All Star Note 6222. It's, uh, it's retractable, so it's just pushing, it goes right inside the headset, you don't even see it. Uh, which makes it really good, you know, for listening to music and stuff, too, because you don't have this, uh, mic that's in your way. So, other than that, uh, my advertising is done for today. 7-3, everybody have a great day. Uh, we get nice weather here on the Rock. I'm going out on the deck to relax with smoke and, uh, some very loud music. 7-3 from here on the Rock, this is EO1, UKZ. Okay, Darrell, yeah, that sounds interesting. Uh, I may, uh, need to get another headset here myself. Uh, I've got, uh, Turtle Beach, uh, that's what I've been using for quite a while, and the, uh, coating over the, uh, ear pads that are coming off, so, uh, this still works okay. If I can get my, uh, laptop to, uh, work with it, but, uh, anyway, uh, yeah, that sounds kind of interesting. I'll have to check on those, so, uh, thanks a lot for the information. Alrighty, you have a great day, and, uh, we'll talk to you later. I'm going to try, uh, another round here. Uh, please give me a call, uh, slowly and phonetically. Give me a call at least twice so I can get everything written down. My, uh, old pencil hand is, uh, awful slow, so, uh, like me. Anyway, this is DERR, NAC Control with the World Wide Friendship. So thank you for sharing that and yeah I probably am extra chipper. I woke up earlier this morning and I had lots of time for coffee and breakfast and moving around so that helps. Anyway thanks so much for coming in and sharing again Dale and you have a great rest of your day. And before closing I just want to thank everybody for your your wonderful warm thoughts and wishes. It was a great trip. I'm going to be sharing more information about it on Facebook and in private emails and just over time I'll be releasing pictures and videos. This is Kilo India 7 Bravo Romeo Barbara in Independence, Oregon serving as your net control today. This is a directed net and all calls must be made through the net control, which is me. Before we begin, we want to thank Michael Wolfus, W8MW for the use of the Great Lakes Reflector 9617 and the Michigan Conference 96170. Our thanks also to Dero Warford for use of the DoDropIn and the DoDropIn2 and to all of the other Nodomans for the use of their nodes to bring you the worldwide friendship net. And finally, we want to thank all of you for taking some time to join the net today. And on a personal note, I want to add a thank you to Gina, Katie7, GEC for covering for me while them and I were away for a couple of weeks. I'll be covering for her next Sunday as well and then we'll go back to our regular rotation. So one final note before I open things up, we may mute anyone who goes over four minutes to allow more people a chance to check into this net. So please watch your time so more people can participate. My question of the day, I think I've asked something along these lines in the past but I think it bears taking it with a different angle. Basically, what is something that you do, it could be a routine, it could be something that you do every week or every few days that you do to take care of yourself or that you do to just kind of keep your life on an even keel. It could be gardening, it could be prayer, it could be meditation, it could be exercise. What do you do to take care of yourself, whether it's every day or a little bit less often. So with that, I'm going to open it up for a mobile and short time only round. Mobile or short time only. Please come on in with your call sign if you're mobile or short time and want to check in on the Worldwide Friendship Net."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-24T07:55:15+00:00","id":23362,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":23361,"text":" And 7R8, this is KI7BR, net control returning. Well, thank you for that nice clean mic. I feel so clean. Anyway, yeah, we had a question in the chat from KK7G. Maybe you can respond to him there, what style you were active in. Oh, there you go. See any real, okay, I hope I'm saying that right. Anyway, yeah, you know, all of that sounds good. And that's what I'm talking about. Like it's not about necessarily being an ambitious apps leader or anything, but, you know, just doing the walk instead of the drive, right? Getting a few steps in, saving the gas, and doing the things that keep you active and keeping your mind going, so that sounds really good, all of that. So thank you so much for sharing your routines and picturing that backyard with the weed whacker. So it sounds like a good way of approaching it. It sounds like I'm over-coding that stuff. So, all right, well, hey, thank you for sharing. And you have a great rest of your day. Now we're going to stay on the West Coast, but we're going to zoom down from Washington down to, why do I, why don't I have this information on here? I have it all the time. Anyway, K6TK Irvine, that's it. Irvine, California. Next, to pick up Glenn, K6TKR, your turn to mic. This is Glenn. Good morning, Barbara, everybody else on the net here this morning. Well, we had quite a day yesterday. We had kind of a monsoon come through and scattered thunderstorms here and there. Actually started a fire up in one of our canyons here, but it got handled pretty quickly. But, oh, it was humid and just, it didn't rain enough though, but it sure looked like it was trying hard. But anyway, to the question of the day, you know, I, just about every day, not every, but maybe five to six days a week, I get out and do a, I call it a hike, because we're in kind of a hilly area. We've got some fairly low hills and then we've got some fairly high hills. And I can kind of choose how I'm feeling and how I want to do those. But, so I really call it more of a hike. It's about three and a half miles and, you know, it takes me, oh, 45 minutes or so to get through that, so I'm going at a pretty good pace. And so that keeps all the joints working. And then for the brain cells, I just love projects. And just like any project I jumped into, has a bunch of problem solving to it. So it's not always a straightforward kind of thing to do, but there's some issues that have to be worked out in order to have a successful end to it. So that keeps the brain working. It might be on the computer doing photo processing or, you know, there's other kinds of hardware type projects. And of course there's building a biplane right now, which went really well yesterday. The students were just phenomenal. I think they've just about got the engine back together again. The stand is being rebuilt, redesigned and rebuilt. It's going to be a beautiful stand. It has to have kind of an infrastructure on the front because we're adding on to it an 80 pound brass radiator and also a propeller. So we've got to have supports for that out there. But that's their next part is to get that designed and welded and then powder coated. So anyway, that's what we're doing. I think today's kind of a late back day. We'll see what happens. So with that K6 TKR back to net."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-26T07:10:10+00:00","id":24842,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":24841,"text":" Nat control, this is Kilo India 7 Bravo Romeo, KI 7 DR."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-27T07:24:47+00:00","id":25728,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":25727,"text":" All right there, bungalow bill. Oh, by the way, I just have to interrupt myself by saying that Bud is on the list here and he'll be coming up in a little bit. Good morning, Bud. And I remember, you know, I used to work for Ford Motor Company. I was stationed up in the Toronto area, Markham, Ontario, to be exact. And I remember when I would get back to New York, to the headquarters, people would ask me how cold it was in Canada. And I would say, well, right now it's about 25 degrees. And they said, my God, it's the middle of summer. How could it be so cold? I said, no, that's 25 degrees Celsius. Anyway, good luck on the physio and the bass player. Yeah, it's a good thing that with all those long title songs that they don't have record labels anymore. I couldn't put it on there. That's for sure. Anybody you take care about and we'll catch you tomorrow. KI7, B.R. Buenos Dias and Benvenillos and welcome back to your country. And you know, I've missed the net for a few days because I've been really, really struggling with some pain, trying to nurse my leg and just hadn't been feeling like socializing, believe it or not, even though I've got some of my best friends on this here video. And Barbara, you're definitely one of them. I really hope you had a great trip and let us know how it was. KI7, B.R. Barbara, Buenos Dias. All Star Node 6222 located in Shelton, Washington. Hey, thanks to RQ2, Nut Control and everybody else on the worldwide friendship net. Yeah, hey Roberto, Buenos Dias. It was an awesome trip. We had rough moments. Europe is not very accessible for people in walkers. And it's, grandma got roughed up slightly in a couple of places because there weren't great like belts to secure her walker on a moving vehicle, things like that. So we really had to be very careful with her. But we had a wonderful time on the ship, a beautiful ship. And a great time in Barcelona in the two days after, the very end of the trip. We had a scooter for her to tool around Barcelona and that was beautiful and she was very impressed by it. I put pictures on the Facebook, the worldwide friendship net Facebook and Robert, if I get your email, I have your email, I have your email. I'll send you the Google drive link that has some videos which and other things, maybe some things that don't make it to the Facebook. But the Facebook has most of it. So if you can see it there, you'll see a lot of good pictures of our trip. I got to go into Nice on my own. That was one really fun excursion. And because I'm really drawn to France, I'm interested in living there after I retire. So I was very interested in going there. The only downside to a lot of these places, it was so hot and humid. I mean 100 degrees and super humid and well, anyway, not my kind of weather. But anyway, apart from the trip and do check out those pictures, it's supposed to be a cooler day today, at least in the mid 80s in the independence area. And might be some rain, looking to see what happens there. Going to have a nice calm day. We started kicking off planning already for next year's CPAC. Last night we had an executive meeting. So that's already starting for our June conference. Anyway, that's about it. That's what's going on here. It's a nice quiet Wednesday. I'm starting work and getting some stuff done here and listening in and having fun listening to others checking in. And always a pleasure to hear from you, my friend. I hope you feel better and you don't have so much of that pain. Anyway, 73 everybody. This is TI-7BR. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven. Good morning K-C-7, Y-F-E Met Control and everybody else on the world wide function net. I start work at seven. So I'm 48 minutes into my workday, and it's heating up. But I tried to get in earlier, it just was prohibitive. I find it harder to get in on my phone than when I'm on my computer. It just seems easier to get in that way, but I just opted for the phone this morning. Anyway, thanks for taking my time. Thanks to others for alerting, I forgot who alerted Dale, but thank you for letting him know I was trying to get in. Yeah, let's see. So I was just out in the backyard, just doing a little harvesting too. The tomatoes are coming in nice, neat little waves so far. I'm not getting inundated. Getting a lot of blueberries and some strawberries. And the pears are, for the first year we're harvesting pears. We've had this tree forever and finally it's bearing fruit. So really looking forward to that. And they're looking really pretty. I'm just not sure when they're gonna be ripe. So we'll see. But just taking it easy today. It was a slow start. For some reason I woke up with a headache and not feeling too great. So just kind of easing into my day. Other than that, just really trying to take full advantage of this reset from the vacation. Before the vacation I could barely get myself up to get to my desk by seven when I'm supposed to start working. And my goal was always to get up more like 5.30 or six because I can get more things done and be more awake. And so far so good. I'm getting up 5.30, six at the latest and able to join you all more reliably and do other things besides. So really happy with that. That's about it. It's gonna be another hot one here but it's cooling off soon. So I'm very happy about that. Grandma's doing well. She's resting and I'll check in with her when she wakes up. So that's it from me. I hope everyone's having a good start to your day. 7-3-L, this is KI7-VR. I hope everything comes together for that move. I know there's quite a lot involved. So yeah. Anyway, thanks for bringing us up to date. And I hope you have a good Labor Day weekend. Alright, we're going to take leave of Ohio, I believe, altogether. Yes, we are. And we're going to head back here to Oregon to my neck of the woods, about 12 miles from me in Salem, Oregon, to pick up Roy, KD7WA. One of our Friday neck controls. Good morning to you, Roy. This is repeater station kilo, kilo seven. Good morning, Barbara and all the other hamsters out there on the worldwide pension net. This is Roy, KD7WA, Salem, Oregon. A nice 58 degrees this morning. And I think it's still going to be halfway decent today. I think it's only going to get up into around 80. 70 was our high yesterday, Barbara. That's perfect for me. Let's see. I got a bus through a three wheel electric bike and I put that together yesterday. So hopefully she'll be able to maneuver on that. And let's see. I'm still working on my plumbing problem. I've got to, this old, old house needs some unique parts. So I'm still trying, I've got a patch so we can use the sink. But I need to get a permanent fix. I hate to call a plumber because I'd have to refinance the house for them guys. Anyhow, which I may end up doing. That's, let's see. OK. Labor Day weekend. I've always, I hate fighting the traffic. I never went camping on Labor Day or any of the major holidays because it's just too many people out there. So I usually we just stay around the house and barbecue. I think I might barbecue a ribeye steak this afternoon and maybe smoke some ribs to tomorrow. So it'll be a weekend of outside cooking. Anyhow, that's it here from Salem, Oregon. Seventy threes to everybody back in their control."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-31T08:36:45+00:00","id":28921,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":28920,"text":" Okay, B7 GEC, this is KI7BR net control returning. Gosh, where do I begin? Sailing lessons. Yeah, too bad you didn't get more wind, but still valuable lessons. And I imagine the lower wind creates challenges that are good for learning. So, but that sounds fabulous with the barbecue and the hanging up the sheet for a screen and seeing something like a craft. Oh, that sounds wonderful. And I am so jealous. Camping at Beverly Beach. Oh my goodness. Yes, definitely hit me up. Let me know when you're going. And it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think I have plans for this month to get away. So, I should be able to cover it. And would let you know if I can't. But that sounds good. Wow. So, you got a lot of great stuff going on. And I hope you enjoy it all. Thanks so much. Well, before I close the net, thank you all for your good wishes for Grandma. You know, she's doing just amazing for 103. Everyone at the hospital is amazed at how well she's doing. And just side note about the hospital, it was really weird. We went to the emergency room on Friday. And they were going to transfer her to the nearby hospital in Salem. And they couldn't take her. So, we're all the way up in one country about a half hour or so, a little more than that, north in the town of McMinnville. So, that's just wild. But at least they could take her. And it's a really nice hospital. They're treating her like she's an angel. Again, they're amazed at how well she looks for her age. And everyone's hopeful that we'll figure out the underlying cause of this. So, thank you for your good wishes. With that, it is about time for me to get closed into worldwide friendship net this morning. And I want to thank everyone for checking in or listening in. I hope you have a great rest of your day and a wonderful Labor Day weekend for those who observe it here in the states. This is Kilo India 7 Bravo Romeo Barbara in Independence, Oregon. This is Kela India 7 Bravo Romeo. Checking in after being away for a number of days. It's been a challenging week ever since Grandma got home. We had various issues come up. We got home on Monday and on Tuesday she had a fall. It wasn't a bad one but there was no way I could get her off the floor. We had to call 911. Our local guys are really great. They helped her out, got her up. In the meantime we took delivery the next day of a device that if you fall on the floor, if you can somehow scoot onto the seat of it, there's a push button that will lift you up off the floor. That was a pretty cool tool. Wish we'd had it the day before but there you go. Grandma has not been all that great this week. Now she's doing better. I think yesterday was kind of the breakthrough. Because of the double duty working plus looking after her in various ways through the week, it was just kind of exhausting. I didn't make it to check in with you all. But the good news is she's looking better now. We might even venture out and do a little errand or two today just to get out of the house. Anyway, that's the update. I'll be in that control on Sundays the next two weeks. I know Gina plans to return after that. I hope you have a great time. I'll go ahead and give it back to neck control. Everyone have a great day. 73L from KI7BR.
