My son lives in the Bahamas, he works down there and the wife and I have visited him quite frequently but it's not about the place so much as it is about being with family. Down here in South Georgia we finally hit our fall weather so it's 71 probably climbed to 78 today and if it stays cloud cast like it is now with no rain I'll probably go outside and poke around and see if I can get something accomplished. I think it would be super interesting to have an AI generated Art Bell and to pick up the topics or recover the topics that Art Bell covered. I would also be very interested in listening to a replay of Art Bell's shows in chronological order in which they began. So with that I'm going to try and get some coffee going here in South Georgia. Let the dog back in. Back to Net Control KI4MHY. Jeff will give you a call again. I used to a long time ago when there were like a million channels on Shellcast, I would listen to the best ofs. I love when he does the EVPs, the extra whatever the hell it is. You know what it is. So I love when he does those. I like when he talks about ham radio obviously, doing that ham radio operator, but I like to hear what he goes through. One thing Art used to constantly complain about, which was really hilarious because tons of people did, was the, I think it was the Horizon radar and it would cause this noise, this Woody Woodpecker kind of noise, that's what he called it anyways, through the HF fans that was planking him. For me it planked sort of like the above and below 10 meters because when he complained about it at the time I was more into the extra channels on CB. So yeah when you got on the above 40 you'd always hear this rattling noise, right? And everyone heard it and it walked a lot of things and it just seemed to be intermittent, right? Like you would hear it, it was directional. It would go away and come back, go away and come back. I guess it affected him far enough on the HF bands that he complained about it, it was planking him. One thing that affects the HF bands in Toronto, I don't know if it affects anyone else, is on 40 meters the nickname for it is the Streetcar Band because what you'll hear a lot of times through the day is the harmonics from the subways and streetcars. One example is sometimes even just riding on a taxi, if a streetcar gets behind us and I'm listening, if I happen to have the AM radio on you actually hear the streetcar right behind you and it's coming through AM. So people have complained about it on 40 meters, like 40 meters is not the best band for the short distance through the daytime in Toronto. So just out of nowhere, like you could be tuning around 7.0 and 7.1 and suddenly and it gets louder and louder and louder. So that is one thing that plagues 40 meters and then on 80 meters sometimes what happens is you hear a very similar thing, we kind of call it a whooshing noise, it kind of sounds like a washing machine that you hear through the day. So I guess Art, wherever he happens to be, I'm sure he hears his own version of interference and I've heard him talk about it a lot, it's kind of interesting to hear him lament on it. Anyone else that would like to check in, VA3KK, while listening?"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-31T07:31:18+00:00","id":72883,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":72882,"text":" KI4MHY Jim down here in St. Marys Georgia thanks neck control for picking me up out of the text box there.
