Hey, good morning Puget Sound. It's good to be back, been in Texas again. I've lost track now. Six, seven trips since last October. And somehow I'm reversed jet lagged. You know, by Texas time I slept till ten o'clock. But I feel like I didn't. So I think maybe it's a low energy day today for some reason. That's why we're not getting many call outs here. Howdy there fella in Australia. Glad to hear someone from down under on the net again. It's been a while. All right, let's see what Beach is up to. KG7QQL, what you got going on? Rock and roll. Beach's Dad, KG7QQL, I am on my way to picture day at the school. Thank goodness I was on the phone talking about an issue with the network with the head of school yesterday. Thank goodness you reminded me it was picture day because yes, I had my picture taken as well, all the kids, all the staff. And there have been years when I've shown up kind of scruffy looking. So anyway, I'm all decked out ready for the picture. Interesting story about the pop-off valve at the gas station because there's a timely part to this. But first, it was 10 or maybe 15 years ago. I think my daughter was really young and I was like late to pick her up at school something. And I drove off from the 7-Eleven and popped the hose off. Crap. Got out, went in. They knew me there because I stopped there to get gas all the time. And the gal came out with me and took it and said, and I said, all right, you want my contacts in folks? I want to make this right. And she said, no, don't worry about it. They pop them right back together. Don't worry about it. I was like, great. And she was, because I felt like an ass and you know, she made me feel better about it. Well, come to modern day about 10 days ago, my wife did it at another gas station. Popped it off and she gave them her info and it turns out they wanted 350 bucks for that repair. So I wonder, you know, which was the true story. But that's all I got today on my way down cresting Queen Anne Hill as we speak. I'll talk to you later. Got a laptop set up up there. I don't have any antennas up yet, so no radio hooked up yet. But I do have solar up, do have my battery ready. I'm getting close. But I was sitting out in my shack looking something up on the internet, and all of a sudden I looked over and there's this big fat pregnant mama raccoon standing in the door of the shack just looking at me. And I'm like, hello, what do you want? And I just happened to have some peanuts with me. So I gave her a couple peanuts, and she was very grateful and she toddled off. And then the next night I happened to be in the backyard about the same time just before sunset, and she came back. I gave her more peanuts. Well, that started a tradition. Every night just before, just after sunset, she came by for some peanuts. Then in July she quit coming for a couple weeks, came back, she wasn't pregnant anymore. Sorry about that. Let her drop on accident. So I gave her some more peanuts a couple times, but she didn't come as frequently because clearly she had a litter to take care of. And then when I got back from Texas, I sat out there a few nights every night about that time, and she wasn't coming back. And I thought, oh, she just figured I wasn't reliable anymore and she's not going to come back. And then a couple nights ago, I looked over and there was this big raccoon butt bumbling away from me. And behind her were three other little raccoon butts bumbling away from me. And I couldn't get my phone fast enough, but fortunately my security cam caught it, and I got footage of them over on the side of the house. So that was fun. I got to see her and her babies, and it was very exciting for me. I love critters. Anyway, that's all I got. I went on way too long. I'll talk to you guys later. KG7, QQL. Comment. All right, hold on there. Comment. I think that was Michael. All right, well, Beach, thank you very much for the baby story and the mama raccoon. That is cute. Yeah, maybe get a picture of the little babies going for a peanut once they're ready for those. All right, you take care. Great to hear you, and nice to have you back. And, boy, your dad, he is a real trooper, 93. That's fantastic. Well, they make him tough in Texas. Hey, who was the comment? Name and call, please. Jack, Whiskey, Alpha 7, Alpha Delta, you know my voice. It's quick. I just walked out while Grossie was talking in and out. It's warm. It's Chinook out there. The wind is so warm, it's a Chinook coming in. That's why it's going to be so warm today. So I'll be turning off the radio now and quit bothering you. But I had to tell you that it is the wind. My project the last week or so has been my firewood and putting a roof over it using the pergola structure I usually store it under and I'm sick of using ugly tarts and I'm trying those polycarbonate corrugated panels. I thought it would be an easy fix, slap up a little cross beam or two to support them. That part is easy. What is hard is cutting those darn things. They are just impossible to cut. I tried every tool in my shop. Finally got it with the oscillating tool but making a clean cut, a clean line I don't know how people do it. There must be a way. How are you? How are you? How are you? Welcome to the Wednesday morning edition of the Puget Sound Repeater Group's 9 a.m. net. And this is Wednesday, hey, whatever the date is, the 8th of October. So hey, and hey, we're on the PSRG Repeater WW7PSR in Seattle, Washington at 146.960 megahertz with a negative offset and a PL tone of 103.5. So all you hams out there, tune up those radios, get ready to push that talk button and come in and join us this morning. We'd love to hear from you. This is a social net. You can talk about anything you want as long as it's user friendly. And it's an open net for all hams with a valid license. So hey, those of you that are coming in on Echo Link or All Star are also welcome to join us. And hey, we're looking forward to having a fun net this morning. So there you go. Please remember this is a directed net. So please remember to go through net control to contact other stations. And when checking in, please try not to tailgate. Let me acknowledge each station as they come in. It helps cut down on our confusion a bit. We're going to build a list of names and call signs. I usually do five, six, seven or so at a time. Then go back and ask for a report from each of those stations checking in. And then go back to the top, ask for a report from each of those stations. And when you get the report, please try and remember to keep it to three minutes or less. That's the time out of the repeater. And it also lets us get as many people in in a timely fashion as we can. And this is mission critical. When you get done with your report, please remember to end with your call sign. It tells me you're done with your report and it satisfies the FCC. Okay. We're going to get started. We're going to start out with short horizon stations. That's mobiles, IOs, low power stations or anybody that's mission critical to get in because they have a time problem or a restraint. And then we'll have to do some internet station. We'll open up to everybody. Of course, none of that is carved in stone as ever. I do have some net control announcements today and there's some fun stuff coming up you're going to want to know about. And I usually will do that after the first round or two. Or if things start to slow down a little bit, I'll throw it in. But yeah, neat stuff going on. So with that, I will say, hey, let's get things rocking and rolling here. This is Kilo Delta 7, Papawiski Bravo, Dave, Desert Pirate Radio here. And I'm in Central Oregon doing this via an all star node. So yes, the internet is certainly welcome. There we go. So with that, let's get things rocking and rolling with short horizon stations. Be fun. So, well take care and yeah, keep us posted. We'll talk to you soon. Let's see what Beej is up to. KG7QQL, what you got going on? Come ahead. Well, I am about 10 minutes behind my usual route. Going into downtown on Wednesday morning. I got in the car early and started heading downtown and noticed I was below an eighth of a tank in gas. I haven't done that to myself in, I think, decades. I'm pretty diligent about keeping it above a quarter at a minimum. Usually I like to keep it above half because you never know when something is going to cause you to have to get the heck out of Dodge and you need the gas. But anyway, so I had to go find a gas station, put a couple of dollars in. Well, $15 in, $2 wouldn't get you far nowadays. And I'm on my way. It might be about five minutes late, but I'll be alright. Beautiful day for my last day in Seattle. Going back to Texas again tomorrow for at least a long weekend. I'm hoping to come back early next week. Maybe be here for next Wednesday's morning net.
