I think it is Skipper. Let's go back to West Seattle. Pick it up with Rich. K30E. Jack! Oh, do I remember the Gasworks event! Hahaha! For several reasons, of course. But yeah, that brass band was really loud. Hahaha! But in spite of that, by golly did we have a good time and in spite of the rain. And yeah, that was a real deluge that day. But boy did we have fun. Anyway, Jack, not much else going on here. You know, I'm always working on little projects around here. I got an antenna. I gotta come up with something for this evening. So we'll see how that goes. And I still don't have the 250B up. I don't know. I may or may not put it up. Not sure. I might put up something else this time. In any case, I am staying active over here, Jack. Radioactive is good. Back to you, K30E. Okay, well then I think that what you're saying, since the big antenna is not up still in the hallway there. Is it the case that Jack who runs the CNL net out of Wisconsin has not heard you since you left Tampa? Jack, I don't think propagation actually works that way. But well, maybe it does. Because he does have, let's see, is it an Arizona station? There is a West Coast station that checks in on the CNL net from time to time. But I've never heard him out here. At least not on any antenna that I've had here. But the noise level is just terrible in this area. So it's usually about S6 or S7. So it's hard to hear anything. But you know, it's still nice to have the rig up and running just in case. Back to you, K30E. Alright, well, and you know, I wonder if you might be able to do a relay through another station. Maybe a multi-op relay. Is that a possibility? Maybe. Jack, I think I've heard Chuck do that. So yes, that is a possibility. Well, you just gave me an idea that I hadn't thought of. So I'll have to check that out. And other than that, Jack, Polo's keeping me straight. And Jack, I've got an... Oh, I've got something going on here. Hard shadows over here in West Seattle all of a sudden. Back to you, K30E. Oh, I'm liking that report. Well, I just ran over to the window real quick. I don't see any hard shadows yet. I still see overcast. But it does look like it has gotten a little bit lighter out there. So I'm liking that. Alright, well, yeah, go put up that big old antenna. Well, if you can, maybe. Maybe let it fully dry out before you try to do anything just outside the window there. But alright, we'll talk to you soon, Rich. Thank you very much. Have a great afternoon. Say hi to Polo, of course. And let's go talk to Fred. K-E-8-Q-F-T. Hi, Fred. Hello out there in the West Coast, the Pacific Northwest. Just thought I'd get in here and say hello today. Hope you're doing okay, Jack. 82 degrees here in suburban Cleveland, Ohio. And I was out doing some yard work, but I didn't do much. It started getting warm. I got the air conditioner on. Haven't had it on since last week some time. It's just starting to heat up as you're around here again. Hope it won't keep you too long. Thought I'd say hi. K-E-8-Q-F-T. I'm back to you, Jack. Alright, Fred. Nice to hear you. I'm looking at your QRZ page here, and it just boils down your entire career to the various jobs you've had in your life there. I know you were out there at Fort Lewis many years ago. What did you do in the Army? I don't think you've ever mentioned that. Back to you, Fred. K-E-8-Q-F-T. Well, I first went in as a combat engineer and then got diverted from Vietnam and sent to Germany. It's a long 20-year story. But I got to Germany, threw me in the tank, and then I reenlisted and went to signal school at Fort Gordon, Georgia. You know, signals and communications. And I spent like the next 15 years working the communications, primarily telephone. K-E-8-Q-F-T. Back to net. Alright, well, Red, you checked in right before he was in the Army. He was in Germany too, stationed there for a while. You guys have that in common and many other things, probably. But, hey, thank you very much for checking in. Good to hear you, boy, in a tank. Yikes. Boy, I bet that's loud in there. Talk about you don't want a brass band inside of a tank either. Good to hear you, Fred. Hey, y'all, good afternoon. Thanks a lot. Let's go talk to Brooks, K-9-B-E-C. What's happening, Brooks? Good afternoon, Jack and everyone on that. K-9-B-E-C, Brooks here, mobile in Woodinville. I just left the branch a little bit ago, making my way out towards my customer. I'm going to go make a little pit stop here at W7-ASM's place and drop off a guitar book that we got from Boston Overbill to Hand Over Nams. So I'll stop and make a little pit stop, drop that off, and then off to the rest of my work day. And then, yeah, then I'll have to make my way down to Seattle because I'm going to the Seahawks game tonight. A buddy of mine had some tickets and got invited, so I got to meet them down in South Seattle at their workplace because there's plenty of parking at their workplace. And then we're all going to take one car, one parking pass to the stadium, so it should be a lot of fun. Let's see, what else I got going on is the home office slash radio shack is all emptied out as of last night. And so it is ready for some paint on the walls and some popcorn sealing to come down that's going to be happening over the next few days. And so hopefully by Monday I can start putting together the new desks and bookshelf and stuff to go in there. So looking forward to all of that. And yeah, so that's what I got going on here. Also, you know, we got the Rainier Shrine coming up this weekend, so that's going to look forward to that too. So lots of stuff going on right now, Jack. Anyway, I'm going to say 73, K9, BDC, back to that."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-16T12:23:49+00:00","id":17197,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":17196,"text":" Okay, I got two of you there. But anyhow, that's about it. That's a few hobbies I like. I also have a certain kind of gardening thing I like to do. Every year I grow some tobacco. I don't smoke it or anything, but I like trying different types. The nation here, they have a seed bank. And they do heirloom seeds from way back. And you just order your seeds from them. So I like to try out different seeds and different stuff like that and see if I can get them to grow and so on there. But that's about it, Virgil. Let me throw it back over to you. Oh, I think this is a 73 round. No, Jeanette comes back with a 73 round. OK, so let me throw it back over to you, N5-GOG. OK, Bill. I don't think they do the 73 rounds anymore, Bill. But anyway, appreciate you being there. And I think we kind of narrowed it down a little bit. So we don't really put a lot of people past their bedtime. No, I just can't. But anyway, great to hear you, Bill. I love hearing you come on here and sharing your wealth and knowledge also. And everybody shares a wealth of knowledge. So we've got one more besides our net control to go to. So all clear with N5-GOG. This is K4 CUP. We're moving on down to Kilo Echo 8, Quebec, Foxtrot, Tango. Hello, Fred. Welcome to the 11 Cats Happy Hour. I don't think I've talked to you before. But anyway, do you have any hobbies and any new hobbies that you would like to pursue? K-E-H-U-M-T, K4 CUP. Oh, they're Virgil. Well, first I'd like to head out back to Frozen, Mike, Frozen Radio. K-O-7, half hour, he used to come on our local nets. And I've been there much lately. I wish he'd give us a call again sometime. Boy, this ain't hobbies. I bowl. I don't do much really. I bowl. And I watch my sports, baseball. I watch a lot of my local teams, the Cleveland Guardians. And of course, radio. I hadn't been an All-Star for quite a while until a couple of weeks ago. I had to get a new laptop and move it around and got my All-Star to work again. It wasn't working for a long time. I changed internet providers and quit working. I got it to work again somehow, just playing around with it. Well, other than that, not a heck of a lot going on. Well, it's like 69 degrees here in Ohio. After it had been in the 90s, it finally cooled off a little bit yesterday and today. And I got up this morning. Believe it or not, it was so cool, I almost turned the heater on. KEA QFT back to neck control. Thanks for having me. KEA QFT from K4CUT. CUP. Thank you, Fred. And I'm watching the Cleveland Guardians right now on local TV here. And every Friday evening, I get a tune-in, if I want to, to the Cleveland Guardians game. And of course, I live down in Reds County, I'm in Eastern Kentucky, they consider it Reds Country. But hey, baseball is my sport. That's my go-to sport. I watch all the games that I can. I've got, matter of fact, I don't have what they call the subscription. But anyway, I've got a way to watch any game or all the games any game. When they're on and so on and so forth. And baseball is, baseball card collecting is one of my big hobbies. And man, I love collecting baseball cards. I've been collecting them since I was nine years old. I'm 56 now. November, Quebec, November. I guess 56 from 9 is about 47. I'm 56 now. I guess 56 from 9 is about 47 years of card collecting there. And it's my go, it used to be my number one hobby. Because I don't focus on it much as like I do. I still buy baseball cards, don't get me wrong. But I don't buy a whole lot. But I will pick up a few of the good ones along the way. So appreciate you, Fred. And thank you for coming and joining us. And so with that, I'm going to clear with K8QFT. I'm going to go look for that KL7FR station out there. And yeah, I guess the only thing with the mag mount is sometimes it can leave like the scratches on top of the car. I have one of those little kind of like silicone footies on mine. I have, yeah, I'm telling you something you already know. But yeah, yes. I know that you, at the Kia Soul, you put all kinds of holes in it and your new fun car. Yeah. It's, yeah, no drilling holes. I get it. I get it. But yeah, that's fun. That's awesome. Ham radio. Well, Ken, it's always good to hear from you. 7-3, all the numbers. Have fun. All right. Last on this list is Fred. I immediately went over to the Internet radio, the PSRG online remote site. I think I just missed her. It looked like she had signed off about 15 minutes earlier. Next time I'll try that or maybe go to a web SDR. I don't think I'd be able to, even if I can't talk to her, it would be interesting to just listen. It's one step closer to some of these people who we get to hear on the net. Hopefully she'll check in and give us a report on her. I guess it's her first Parks on the Air activation. I'll let her explain it when and if she checks in. That's kind of cool. Maybe she will check in. That's cool. I don't even know about that Yakima place. That looks kind of interesting. I also want to say to everybody, we all participate in these other clubs. There's so much overlap. We want to include the announcements of other clubs, rain or shine.
