Presently, it is only being made in Shanghai, in China, but it will eventually be added to the US market as well. And they've refreshed, you know, if you know what a Tesla looks like when you go down a freeway or down a highway, there are two new versions of the Model Y and the Model 3. They're completely different in the front and in the back especially. I think before the tax thing went away, they were selling those things like hotcakes. So when I go out for a drive, I see more of these slightly new models than the older ones. So that's kind of a good indication. But there are many, many choices as Jim and others will contest too that are very, very good cars as well if you're into buying electric cars. And Kia has some, Kia and Hyundai, they're kind of pals, they have a pretty large SUV model. And we don't have time nor the inclination to parcel out how that compares with the Model Y slash X as far as performance, cubic features of storage and so on and so forth. Maybe in person we can chat. And Kevin is still going without gas. Sweet. Thank you so much for that Steve. Thanks for coming back with that. And yeah, well have a great day Steve. And yeah, say hello to your wonderful wife and your little dog. And I think that yeah, and your daughter. I think your daughter lives with you maybe. But anyway, 7th of December Steve, it's good to hear from you and thank you for that information. All right, next on the list is Arthur. I did not write down your call sign, but you know who you are. Arthur, please come ahead with your report. Hello, good morning Rebecca and Lynette. Yes, KU7 in UI. I need to think of a backronym I guess. I don't know, never unicorn something. Anyway, yeah, what is radio? That is always an interesting question. And myself having kind of recently set back up radio stuff and you know, been on the net recently this time, you know, several years later. Now I have little kids who are like 6 and 8 and of the age where they can start learning about stuff and they're just sponges of curiosity, which I love. Being a geek, it's just so much fun being asked questions of how things work and getting to explain and kind of figure out how deep of a level can you explain things on and still hold their attention, which of course with a kid's attention span is always a challenge. I mean, you know, for me, holding my attention can be as well I guess, but that kind of goes along with the whole curiosity gene I suppose. But yeah, I was talking about radio going through the air. Fortunately, they're pretty familiar with radio in the car and they'll kind of explain how that worked several years ago. So the fact that there can be other kinds of radio I guess is maybe somewhat intuitive. I guess being digital natives maybe that helps. But I now have stepped up my RF game a bit because I have two antennas, you know, having one antenna and unfortunately I just have two VHF rigs right now, one on my desk and one mobile. But having two antennas means I can play with the SDR while I do things like this on the desktop station. And so we were looking at the SDR last night, looking at all kinds of stuff. I found CTAC's frequencies I think around like 119 MHz, maybe 129. And so we were listening to conversations of aircraft as they were approaching CTAC, which is kind of cool. And then looking at other bands as well. I'm really curious what is on 250 MHz. The frequency spectrum diagram didn't really show anything interesting there, just, you know, mobile, mobile satellite. Maybe the Zoom call on the 8th I'll learn some more about that satellite stuff. I'm really curious to learn more about all the digital modes and stuff too. Because, you know, on the SDR, at least as far as I know how to use it, I can just listen to FM and AM stuff, everything else is kind of a mystery to me. But, you know, I'm sure I'll pick up a lot from you guys and learn more about all the different modes. Digital is kind of a big mystery, but I do work in tech, so I'm sure I can learn some of that stuff and have lots of fun with that. Also with the SDR, I think I need to build an HF antenna of some type. So maybe that will be a future project, which I'll look forward to. So anyway, that's my report. Just lots of fun in radio land. A whole ton of fun explaining it to the kiddos. And yeah, really looking forward to learning more with them as well. Alright, 70P to the net. But it feels like every time you check in you're doing someone, hugely helping someone move is Yeoman's work. I'm going to have to move at the end of November. Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to help, but it is such a daunting task. And yeah, it's definitely one of those things where you look at it and you assess how much time it's going to take, and it takes just exponentially more than you budgeted for. So yes, thank you so much for being an extra pair of hands, and probably an extra brain, and all that, because it really, many hands make light work, especially with things like that. On the equipment setup, probably better to do it as you're kind of slow and considered getting everything in the right spot, setting up the workflow and all that instead of rushing. So congratulations on that. Yeah, pretty good on the trick-or-treaters. Sounds like you fared about 18 times or more better than Jack did at his QTH there. So hope that keeps up. Leftover candy? Yeah. This is my opportunity. Tomorrow I'll be going out and looking for leftover candy on sale. So that's kind of my thing after Halloween or Valentine's Day or any of those things. Kind of stock up on my candy stash. So we'll see how that goes. Last year I waited too long. I waited about four days after Halloween and everything was taken off the shelves. And I noticed that increasingly stores do just take the inventory off the shelves. They don't even bother marking it down. It goes somewhere. And I always wonder where it goes. Do they toss it? I mean the stuff that's labeled for Halloween, they can't really \u2013 I don't know. Let me know. If anyone knows what happens to all that candy. On the license plate, yeah, I remember the black ones before just being for like vintage cars or something. So let us know how it goes with the license plate, what you can get as far as customization with the call signs. Thank you very much Brooks. After Brooks we had Sydney with an I.O. Yes, Lucy and I are here. She just missed the noon net today They went out hiking was it raining. Yeah. Yeah, that's okay But she didn't like it did she and and so while they did that I stayed home playing with my dipole project and got finally got some some arrows with lines on them up in trees, although I'm still having some issues. My 50-pound fishing line tends to snap, and the heavier one-eighth inch line, well, it just weighs too much, so I'm still not quite there, still using the low to the ground 40, 20 meter dipole, but it's kind of too low and doesn't have great reception. Lucy had lots of fun, so did Leo, who was Lucy's little brother. I found this list. Speak into the housekeeper's salamander. Yeah, the salamander. Yeah, it was in our driveway, right? Yeah. Yep, did we bring it in? Yeah. But then what did Mom make us do? Put it back in the well. Yeah, put it back outside. But that was pretty cool. Yeah. Okay, well 73 and? Thirty. Thirty-three. Thirty-three. All right, back to net, KE7 NUI. All right, good stuff. Well, I guess good luck trying to get those lines up. It sounds like that 50-pound fishing line might just be a little trial and error, and maybe you'll get one that doesn't snap to go through all the way and stuff. So it sounds like that might be just a little more trial and error there. So good luck with that, and hopefully the weather participates with you on that. There's lots of rain, but I think it might let up here. All right, glad that Lucy had a nice hike with a dog and found a nice little salamander. Good stuff there. So thank you so much Arthur and Lucy, both of you. Have a great night. All right, so I am Brian, KE7KZH, this is the 9 o'clock net on the PSRG repeater in Seattle, Washington. I was able to join, one moment here, and TV's. Santa watched that today with the kids, and the kids got to tell Santa what they wanted, so that was pretty cool. Also my first foray into Echo Link, so I guess good motivation to set up with a new mode there. And when my dad and brother-in-law were here after dinner, and it was getting kind of loud with everyone outside, with the with the kids and such. We snuck into the ham shack room here and got to play with radio showing them. Actually, four different modes, CW on the HF rig. We hooked up SC8, and we also did a CPU call on 20 meters and 40 meters. And then I showed him mesh core stuff, so good times. And yeah, six modes today, which is pretty cool. And right now, I'm being Santa Claus. I'm setting up a media server for the kids and the families. So that actually lends well to listening to the net while doing head set up stuff.
