They cleaned out both her nostrils. So I was taking care of her. As far as celebrating, I don't mind a happy birthday wish, but I really never wanted to celebrate my birthday. Just another day. So yeah, Florence, I didn't know, you were so far away for most of us. I think that's why none of us have been to Florence in a long time. It was a good place, as I recall. It's just a long ways away from here. So anyway, Mel, you have a great day, my friend. And we're at the bottom of the line again, so let's take some more seconds. This is KI7PKL rowing in Portland. I got Joyce there, KC7LRS, short title here at the top of the list. I got Terry87MR, N7RHV, VA6GRZ, KD7WA, and KC7FMW made it this round. And like I said, we'll go with Joyce there, KC7LRS from KD7GECMNET. Good morning. Good morning there, Gina and everybody on the net. And yeah, Rosie's going to be getting up here pretty quick. I stayed overnight with Ms. Ginn, had a great fun evening. And Joe is busy getting something ready to send back. It was all broken and he had to order. So anyway, kind of a busy morning and a hot one. I don't think we'll go out on the porch this morning and just have some brekkie and get the day started. And so that was quite a close call. It would be a wonderful deal for Bud there and his friends gambling. Wow, that was something. Anyway, Enroy and Sue have continued to have a great time over there. I had a dream last night. It was so vivid. It was over on the coast and I could even smell the air. So I thought, boy, I could have more dreams like that. Anyway, everybody have a great day to day. And back to Gina, KC7LRS. All right, Joyce, always glad to get you in on the net here and hopefully you have a wonderful day. Stay cool there on the porch with your friend Rosie. And hopefully the item that needed to be returned got all sorted out yesterday and get that back in the mail for a refund. So you have a good rest of your Sunday. Glad to get you in with us today. And now we'll go to the top of the list with Mr. Terry, 807MR. Good morning. Good morning from Alpha Alpha Seven Micromio. Joyce, I almost sound like a spirit walker. Experience. Yeah. When I was really young, I was luckily out of it. I did stuff like that because I went places with my mom and dad for some reason. I felt like I had been there before. But anyway, we're going to go get you. We got ourselves all washed off. We washed off a lot of good stuff. I checked on the FTX1F 100 watt and the 5 watt looks like they're going to be a little bit out of my budget. My son will die when he gives me some money. Oh, shame. I shouldn't expect that, should I? Anyway, we got a lot going on here. Looks like we got sunshine coming over the hill. There's sunshine around the trees that I can see through the window. One thing that I keep opening on the window. With that and good to hear everybody out there, this is Alpha Alpha Seven Micromio. Before I start, there it comes. This is the stuttering. I guess it's going to be a singing day this afternoon. Back to the group from Alpha Alpha Seven. I'll take a trip and that leaves a ration. Have a great day. I'll be listening to Alpha Alpha Seven. I'll call me on back. Alright there, Mr. Terry. We're glad to get you in the net here. Do you have a good rest of your Sunday? Always good hearing from you. Next, I've got Pappy in 7RHB from KB7GEC in the net. Good morning. Good morning to you too there, Gina. And everybody else here on the friendship net. So yeah, I just spent the majority of the day yesterday just watching the grandkids. Or the grandkids and their friend, I should say. He cut apart his quad because he bought a bigger engine for it. He needed to weld it all back together. Can he use your weld or grandpa? They say it. I'll be watching you. We got it pretty much all back together again. There's still some areas he wants to fill in and strengthen a little bit. We ran out of wire. Got about another row of wire before we could do anything else. And I said that's on him because he's up my whole row. Probably better than half a pound worth. Anyway, thank goodness it's not too overly expensive. Kid actually, I wasn't sure if he knew what he was doing, but he did all right. So a couple of places I assisted. So, you know, make sure you got it, project. Grandpa, the big grandkid got on it and it didn't break. So yes, it's pretty sturdy. Anyway, that's what I did. Then I went and made a hamburger for dinner and said to heck with it. I was done for the day. So there you go. It looks like it's over. It's going to be a little bit cooler. Nice day out there. So anyway, have a good one everybody. And we'll grab that micro-ban wipe over here. I found some. Now there's no overspray. So we just wipe the mic down with the micro-ban wipe here. 99.9% germ free from the next 24. And seven RSV. Back to that. All right there, Papi. Well, thank you for the clean microphone and those wipes sure are handy. So it sounds like quite the project there. Welding the quad once you got the bigger motor in. But with your supervision it sounds like it got completed mostly. And it held up to the sit on it test. So do have a good rest of your Sunday and thanks for taking time to be with us this morning. All right, next I've got Bill. Bill VA6GRZ from KV7 GEC of the Met. Big morning there, Bill. KV7 GEC VA6GRZ. Good morning, Gina and everybody on the Met. We've got 18 degrees right now. High of 25 and 65 and 77. And cloudy and a little bit of sun. 60% chance of showers and maybe a thunderstorm. But it's been a few days since we've had one. And luckily the grandkids came over yesterday and helped mow the lawn for us. We'd wacked the edges. And a couple of other spots. And I had my physiotherapy appointment. And we're switching to walking with a cane. Although I may keep using my crutches because there's times when my foot is a little bit overworked and painful at times. So I've got to take it easy on it still. I figure next week we'll start walking without the boot. But I don't know. I'm still on the fence about it. I see my surgeon at the end of the month. So there we go. And what else? Not much else going on today. So we did our rooster shopping yesterday. And we went to Ben's Meats. They opened up a new location closer to us. And they got a deli in there as well. We spent almost $90 on just four items yesterday. We even got a... Yeah, we picked up a T-bone steak as well. It's been marinating since yesterday so we're looking forward to cooking that tonight. Probably better than the stuff we normally get at the supermarket. So, anyway. Yeah. Glad your pickles are doing well. I don't know if the Blue Jays beat the LA Dodgers yesterday. So, here we go. 73, everybody. Have yourselves a good day. GED 7, GEC VA 6, GERS. Here in Edmonton, Alberta. Alright there, Bill. Sounds like you're doing well with your physical therapy there. And walking around with your mobility and using the cane there probably a little faster. So hopefully that continues to go well. And enjoy that T-bone there for dinner. Always good hearing from you. Alright, up next, I've got Roy in Florence, KD 7, WA. Good morning."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T07:26:13+00:00","id":15768,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15767,"text":" understand about all those buttons and poking something and everything's happening. So hopefully you get that straightened out and have a good rest of your day there. Glad to get you in here on the Worldwide Friendship Net. And with that, I'm at the bottom of the list here. Again, it's the Worldwide Friendship Net. My name is Gina, Katie7GEC. Your host for the day. Surprised my voice is holding out. Like I said, we've been doing the Portland Pickles baseball game playoffs there. And Friday night we traveled down to Salem to root for them as they played against the Marion Berries. And then last night, the Marion Berries came up here to Walker Stadium in Portland and played the second game of that three-game series. So since Portland won both games, we don't have to play that third game in the heat. So tonight, they're going to my friend's house and they're going to grow some chicken and work on our RC cars. I'm building a building, rebuilding an old 90 from the 90s RC car for my brother, making it a drift car. So I've got motor mount that came in from England because it's very specific. And I got new shocks and wheels to put on there and it should be running today. So we'll see how that goes. So trying to stay cool here. So let's see if there's anybody else out here waiting to get in on the Worldwide Friendship Net. Do let me know if you're mobile in a short time. I'll move to the top of the list. Please come with your call signs slowly and infinites. Good morning. November 7, Romeo, hotel, Victor. November 7, Romeo, hotel, Victor. It's a patty. This is Roy, KD7WA here in Nesco, Oregon. It's about 57 degrees, going to get up to around 65. And we've actually been pretty lucky. We've been over here on the coast for about a week now, and no rain, but that's going to change. They're talking about maybe an inch of rain. But we'll take it. It's just been great here. We really lucked out and missed all that 100-degree temperature over there. Gail, we're being in the 60s and 70s here. Yeah, and by the way, you guys in Roseburg set a record a couple days ago at 103. So I know you've been hot down there. And that don't feel bad. I tried to check in right at the start on this, and I got stepped on every one of you until I finally got in. So you just got to keep trying. So what was it, about five ahead of me? And you must have got stepped on about six times. Anyhow, we made a quick trip back to Salem yesterday. Boy, it was still warm. And Sue had physical therapy and had to go get some blood tests. And picked up some things at the house and got some tomatoes and green beans out of the garden and headed back. So anyhow, we're here until, let's see, Sunday after next. So we've got to, we're here for a couple weeks. Anyhow, that's about it from UNESCO in Oregon. 73 is to everybody. Back to that control. All right, well thank you, Cut. Thank you, Roy, for coming in and you and Sue would be safe. Of course, I get a little scratch in the ears to Lily there and dog Cookie. And you guys enjoy the time over there on the coast? Yeah, and I'm sure it's a lot cooler over there because the people over on the Handy Ham Conference, I know one guy that lives over in Florence, and it's been kind of right around the 60s and 70s. It doesn't get really hot over there on the coast, which is, you know, well, it's not, it's nothing new to me really, because the coast is going to be cooler. Because it's near the ocean, right near a bed of water, you know, a big bed of water. Salt, whatever it is. All right, Roy, have a good day. And folks, be sure to shop in tomorrow, Friday with Roy, H87WA. And he'll be more than happy to chat with you and, you know, have coffee over on a good net here. All right, then, leave them, we'll leave masculine and now we're going to swing out here, I don't know where it's at, KR4, KR4FRR. Danny, I think the mic, it must be you, the mic is yours. My name is K4FRR, I'm located in Newton Grove, North Carolina, kind of on the east coast of North Carolina, roughly. Currently in Raleigh, that's where I work at. Yeah, it has finally quit raining. Down here it has rained all week long. Told some guys yesterday, whenever I got home from work, I got us some chickens and ducks, and I went out there to feed them and they had on the life jackets, kind of to stay afloat. As you walk through the yard, it just squishes. So, it has finally quit raining, I'm happy about that, possibly going to get some more rain this afternoon. Other than that, that's about all we really got going on, I'm about to go help a guy out at work here in a minute. We do some work at the local jail and somebody's tore up one of the toilets that we have and it's got a table kind of thing mounted to the side of it, he has to weld. And he had to do that a few weeks ago and he didn't pay attention and sometimes the inmates, they'll take trash and shove it behind the toilet in a crack if they can get it in there and he ended up catching the tail on fire, so I'm going to be fire watched today. Other than that, that's about all the excitement we have. I'll send it back to Nick, JR4FRR. Alright JR4FRR, KC7YFE, thank you for coming in Danny. I hate to hear about people trying to set buildings and jails on fire, but you know, those inmates, I mean I watched a few prison shows on YouTube, like Ohio Prisons and stuff like that, and yeah, they got one in there on contraband wars and I watched that one once in a while. Yeah, those inmates, they can get pretty clever in coming up with ways of stashing, you know, both nuisance and the other contraband, like cigarettes and whatever else and other stuff. Alright, have a good day Danny, take care. We are clear with JR4FRR and I'm at the end of this round and I would like to take this moment, this next round for anybody that has not, for any newcomers or visitors, I'd like to find if there's any newcomers and visitors, this is your round to check in on. Hahahaha! Ahh, no, they really make you tired for Sunday, and all you have to do is just lounge around in the chair, so there you go. Alright, buddy, you take care, we'll say 73 for now. Haha! But yeah, let's move on down here to V4, YYL. Good morning, Rosie, how you doing? On November 8th, Tango Hotel, Juliet, this is Victor Aquafoy and Tango Yma. Good morning, Arthur, and good morning to the lovebirds out there, Gina and Joe and everybody else on this vacancy, you know, we don't want to forget anybody, so nice hearing Cathy on there, that's for sure. So, doing not too bad, I wish that my ankle would be doing better, but however, arthritis is in there, so who knows when that will get better, so we're hoping for the best, but see how things go. Going back to the doctor in September, so however, I passed the mic over to my lovely husband. Good morning, everybody, VE4GWN in a currently sunny Winnipeg, although after lecture calling for 60% chance of thunder showers. You can use the showers, not the thunder, because hopefully the showers, if they go far enough north, will help with the fires, but of course we know what lightning can do. Not much on the schedule today, actually, in about three quarters of an hour, Rosie's got an appointment for a massage, and I'm right behind her, so that's going to finish off the rest of the morning. Tomorrow's a different story, we're going to be going down onto Memorial Boulevard here in Winnipeg to the Peacekeepers Memorial that's there, because today is National Peacekeepers Day in Canada, something a lot of people aren't aware of, and the reason August 9th was chosen is August 9th, 1974, 51 years ago today, nine Canadian passengers and crew were killed with a Syrian ground air missile shot down a Canadian Forces Buffalo aircraft flying UN colors on a routine flight from Ismaili, Egypt to Damascus as part of the United Nations peacekeeping. So even in peacekeeping it can be dangerous, that was the largest single incident, loss of life for Canadians in a peacekeeping mission, notice I said a peacekeeping mission, and that is why the day August 9th was chosen, and I do believe Canada recognized it initially, I want to say 2008, but don't quote me on that. And with that I'm going to say 73 back to net, VE4 GWN in Winnipeg. Thank you very much for that information, I learn something every time somebody gets out of here, I mention something and stuff like that, I didn't know anything about that, but hey, thank you very much for enlightening us. Alright, Rosie and Glenn, you too, have yourselves a great day and enjoy your massage. So with that we'll say 73 to VE4. But Dan let's move on down to KD7WA, good morning Roy. Well good morning Art and all the other hamsters out there on the worldwide friendship net, this is Roy, KD7WA here in Florence, Oregon, about 60 degrees, going to get up to around 70 somewhere in there, beautiful sunny, been pretty nice, 3 days at the coast and no rain, very unusual. Glad I'm over here though, it's going to be 100 degrees I think tomorrow in Salem, so I'll enjoy the 60 degrees that's for sure. Yeah the orvery group, we all went down to Moe's on the waterfront, I had some great fish and chips, and I think Sue had shrimp on a skewer and we had a good time and then came back and sat around the campfire and told lies last night. So yeah that's what's going on in Florence, tomorrow we'll be heading up the road about 90 miles to Nescone for 2 weeks. So that's it here from Florence, Oregon, this is KD7WA back to net control. Well that's the whole fun of it, sitting around the campfire telling all kinds of tall tales and stories and lies and whatever else you can think of. Well I'm glad you're having a great time and hey we will talk at you later, 73 for now. So with that, that brought me down to the bottom of the list, this is the World Wide Touch event, I am November 8th, I'm going to tell you it, you're in neck control for the day, and the name here is R. Del for Romeo Tango and Springfield, Ohio. I am looking for some more jackets so please come in with your call site slowly, infinites and twice, and if you are short down the mobile, let me know and I'll get you to the top of the list.
